Biden Has Added 220 Million Hours of Regulatory Paperwork Since His Inauguration
It equates to "roughly 25,000 years" of filling out forms and other compliance tasks, reports American Action Forum's Dan Goldbeck.
From his inauguration to March 24, 2023, President Joe Biden increased the regulatory paperwork obligation by 220 million hours, reports American Action Forum's Dan Goldbeck.
The regulatory paperwork burden under Biden "exceeds the combined total accumulated under Obama and Trump in their opening years," Goldbeck says. If that number seems incomprehensibly large, he notes that it equates to "roughly 25,000 years" of filling out forms and other compliance tasks.
The figures in Goldbeck's charts compare the three presidencies at the same point in their third year and are derived from regulatory notices published by federal agencies in the Federal Register. Final rules have gone into effect after a period of public comment, while final rule costs capture the estimated economic impact of regulations over a multiyear period established by the regulating agencies.

Bah, 220 million hours is a chonologically insignificant amount of time.
As the article notes, that's equivalent to 25,000 full-time workers for the entire year. (40 hours per week x 52 weeks less 2 for vacation = 2000 person-hours per year).
Yeah, there's no better purpose that society could have put those 25,000 people to than to filling out government paperwork. Who needs those boring old jobs making stuff or helping people?
When freedom means asking permission and obeying commands, "too many rules" is an oxymoron.
Yet you spend all your time here defending Biden and attacking the guy who ordered deregulation. Odd.
It's why I say the democrats are really for the rich. Do you really think the person who develops a neat product goes to a venture capitalist. The VC then takes the product and manufactures it overseas.
It is a make work program for the PRC.
Does anyone think the large corporations actually do the paperwork? Or do they just source it overseas.
It also helps explain why new drugs cost so much.
More bureaucracy!! Yay?
I get paid more than $100 to $500 per hour for working online. I heard about this job 3 months ago and after joining this I have earned easily $21k from this without having online working skills . Simply give it a shot on the accompanying site…

As part of the agreement, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. will share losses with JPMorgan on First Republic’s loans. The agency estimated that its insurance fund would take a hit of $13 billion in the deal, which is precisely the hole that prevented a private sector solution from being reached. JPMorgan also said it would receive $50 billion in financing from the FDIC to consummate the deal.
More importantly, the FDIC and JPMorgan also entered into a "loss-share transaction on single family, residential and commercial loans it purchased of the former First Republic Bank." As part of this transaction, the FDIC as receiver and JPMorgan will share in the losses and potential recoveries on the loans covered by the loss-share agreement.
"And with the collapse of FRC, three of the four largest-ever U.S. bank failures have occurred in the past two months. First Republic, with some $233 billion in assets at the end of the first quarter, ranks just behind the 2008 collapse of Washington Mutual. Rounding out the top four are Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, a New York-based lender that also failed in March.
Meanwhile, just as we said a month ago when we joked that the regional bank crisis is meant to make JPM even bigger and more systematically important than ever, as it pays just 0.01% on its deposits as it remains the only truly "safe" bank for US depositors, in effect collecting a $90 billion annual subsidy courtesy of its TBTF status...
... both First Republic and Washington Mutual are now substantially owned by JPMorgan. The nation’s largest bank, it has been known to step in during banking crises. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon was pivotal in earlier efforts to rescue First Republic.
“Our government invited us and others to step up, and we did,” Dimon said Monday."
JPMorgan also said it would receive $50 billion in financing from the FDIC to consummate the deal.
"Consummate?" Interesting choice of word. So who's getting fucked?
The American people.
The democrat party was bought by J P Morgan during the Wilson admin and has been loyal to Wall Street Bankers since then.
[Na]tional So[zi]alists Democrats are all about regulatory capture...
As-if that was some big surprise to anyone but SQRSLY.
The democrats are aware that if you spend all your time complying with stupid useless rules and regulations, you are less likely to realize what they are doing to the country.
(free suggestion for republicans; those graphs would make great campaign ads. Especially the 'final rule cost' one)
And yet that pales to the National Debt Biden has added. Biden's total destruction of the economy and business, especially small businesses continues.
Great job of endorsing Biden in 2020 Reason! (sarc)
But no mean tweets. A libertarian priority.
You have to file paperwork to make mean tweets, now.
Yeah, Reason wanted this and they approve of everything Biden does, because that's what it means when you vote for someone. That's why they never run anything critical of him or his policies.
I know, right? It's not like there was some kind of web site or something where they could go and look at his policy positions, that would make this an entirely predictable outcome of voting for Joe Biden.
And they supported every single one. Just like Trump supporters approve of every single thing he did, said, says and does.
Oddlt you call people trump cultists despite them criticizing him more than you’ve ever criticized Biden. Weird.
There's no such thing as voting against the guy you think is worse. Nobody does that. Everyone votes for the person who they think is perfect in every way. Oh wait, that's just Trump voters, and their firm belief that anyone who voted for Biden supports everything Biden does is projection.
Lol. Wow. You denigrate the view that voting for someone means you agree 100%, the project it onto trump voters. Fucking hypocritical hilarity.
Biden was very clear with what he was going to do. He openly campaigned on it. Yet you attacked trump instead. And still claim a cultism around him. Despite trump ordering deregulation only delayed because of The Resistance.
You are such a fucking hypocrite about literally everything.
Obviously anyone who voted for Brandon thought that 220 million hours and $359 billion of lost productivity was an acceptable cost to get rid of Trump.
The more I read your responses, the more I am convinced that you're either in middle school or a freshman in high school.
Considering how long Sarc has been posting here.....

How many times can you repeat 6th grade?
Bart Simpson has been in the 4th grade since I was...
Voting for someone, and a media outlet endorsing someone are different. This is Reason's criticisms (I mocked them at the time).
Trump lied. Joe Biden tells untruths! Their criticisms are sugar coated and half-hearted. Words matter in journalism.
half-hearted - adjective
Not sincere; lacking full energy, effort, commitment, or resolve.
Lol. Laursen thinks sleepy Brandon is “mediocre”.
Half hearted criticism indeed.
But think of all the new jobs created! /sarc
Anyone know who Mike voted for?
Shirley Chisholm?
According to the "good" reverend kirkles, it amounts to $0.59 per person, so 220 million hours is no big deal.
something something Chevron Deference
My last salary was $8750 just ecom worked 12 hours a week. My neighbor has long found an estimate of $16,000″ (u113 and works about 20 hours for seven days…I can’t believe how easy was after

"Biden Has Added 220 Million Hours of Regulatory Paperwork Since His Inauguration"
Remember, people like to claim that we are a free country or that we are a capitalist country.
Neither are true. Government is in every single aspect of your life and businesses are over regulated with rules that even lawyers can't often agree on the meaning of.
We are statist / cronyism at best and headed to fascism. Who really owns your business when from start to finish government is telling you how to run it?

Democrat voters underestimated Joe Biden's only true ability to screw everything up.
If you vote for Kamala Harris coming up, you are a fool in my book.
Would she be better.
Biden is stupid and lazy and this actually illustrates it. He is at the $8 Trillion in spending mark and speaking all the time about his progress for America. But better bridges, saved endangered species, railroad lines no one wants. subsidies for expensive electric cars, huge road building projects -- this only translates into inflation, increased taxes and -- most importantly -- no actual people are being helped.
People with money will be able to bypass all that regulation and compliance and the poor are given more burdens and those in the middle are pulled down.
He is stupid, he is lazy. And after 50 years only a fool or someone not paying attention says otherwise.
I have just received my 3rd payment order and $30,000 that I have built up on my laptop in a month through an online agent. This job is good and his regular salary is much better than my normal job.” Work now and start making money online yourself.
