It's a Bird! It's a Plane! Is It the Northern Illinois Bottlecap Balloon Brigade?
Days after an American F-22 shot down a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of Myrtle Beach, a second floating object was shot down over the Yukon.

A week after an alleged Chinese spy balloon first crossed into Alaska, an American F-22 used a Sidewinder missile to destroy the craft off the coast of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on February 4. Just days later, a second floating object was shot down over the Yukon. On February 15, the Northern Illinois Bottlecap Balloon Brigade announced that the second UFO was actually a harmless hobbyist pico balloon they sent up to circumnavigate the Earth.

Oregon bill would mandate insurance coverage for gender transitioning but not for detransitioning.

"Republican representative Ed Diehl thought the same thing. So, he filed an amendment to provide equal coverage for medical services for detransitioners and transitioners alike. Democrats rejected it out of hand. Diehl told me in an email:
'I introduced a -11 Amendment to House Bill 2002. It would have mandated insurance coverage for detransition treatments, similar to how the base bill covers “gender-affirming treatment”. The amendment was flatly rejected by the Democrats. They called the amendment “controversial”.'
Oh."
Well yeah, insurance companies would keep records of detransitioning if they were forced to cover it, and the trans movement is dead terrified of reliable statistics.
According to my son in the reserves, who heard it from someone who heard it from someone who supposedly knows: Radar detection was dialed up to 10, basically sparrow level, and they went after everything for a few days. Typical Government response to criticism.

"actually a harmless hobbyist pico balloon"
The one they shot down over Canada was a similar situation.
Imagine the media's reaction if they were shooting down hobbyist balloons under Trump.
