India Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Dddube / Dreamstime.com)

The Indian government has declared a BBC documentary on deadly 2002 riots in the state of Gujarat to be propaganda and used emergency powers to ban it from YouTube, Twitter and other social media. Students at Jawaharlal Nehru University gathered for a screening of the documentary but someone cut the power. Current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was chief minister of Gujarat back in 2002, and many Muslims accused him of condoning violence against them. The riots left more than 1,000 dead.

many Muslims accused him of condoning violence against them

Without knowing anything else about the controversy, I'm going to guess this documentary is indeed propaganda. Muslims are about the biggest whiners about being discriminated against other than child molesters and have as much reason to be discriminated against as child molesters, too. 'Religion of peace' my ass. Fuck off, you murderous scum.

Sounds like something an infidel would say.

As for me, I am against Vedic Thugs* as much as Abraham’s Thugs. As the O.G.Tommy Boy might put it, I am eternally hostile to “any form of Tyranny over the mind of Man!”

Let them both expose themselves and each other, then we can follow through with the child molester treatment as needed.

      * Pop-Up Video Factoid: The word "Thug" comes from the murderous, Kali-worshipping Thugee Cult of India. The struggle against them was the British Empire's version of "The War On Terror."

You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

    3. markm23   3 years ago

1,000 dead would suggest that there is reality behind the Muslim's complaints.

But why would someone stay where thousands of your neighbors are just waiting for the government to look the other way while they murder you? Either that's stupidity at a Darwin Award level, or they're trapped by anti-immigration policies of the rest of the Muslim world - policies nearly as murderous in effect as the restrictions on Jewish immigration in the 1930's, except it's countries of their own religion keeping them in harm's way.

What difference, at this point, does it make.

Modi didn't personally kill anyone, so he's not an authoritarian, plus there's nothing wrong with being an authoritarian.

I get paid over 190$ per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my best friend earns over 10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I’ve been doing..

Why not just have the govt threaten to arrest those involved? If the supporters then change their plans where nothing controversial is broadcast and nobody goes to prison, this is totes ok and definitely not censorship.

    1. SQRLSY One   3 years ago

Kinda like threats to "hang Mike Pence"? Nothing bad happened to Mike Pence, so it was totes OK?

Everyone has the right to speak.
Or so I thought you said somewhere along the line.

        1. Chumby   3 years ago

The progressive Stormy Daniels cosplay nut gatherer blathering on again? Does he not understand speech versus threats? Maybe he’ll resort back to his clang association and pepper in some fascist project and maybe a 230.

        2. Vernon Depner   3 years ago

According to Jeffy, it's OK to hold a gun to someone's head and tell them what to do, because you haven't violated their rights until you pull the trigger.

          1. TheReEncogitationer   3 years ago

Sounds like the British Home Office methodology for recording murders, among other crimes.

        3. SQRLSY One   3 years ago

"Everyone has the right to speak."

In the real world, there are limits! Genuine threats of death and other violence, solicitations of murder for hire, REAL slander and libel (such as telling loud lies about the grocery store selling poisoned food and seriously hurting their business... The grocery owner needs legal recourse here), and REAL national security secrets. Probably a few more. Whenever humans are involved, it gets complicated!

Yes, you have a right to enlist a large crowd to shout lies in front of my grocery store. I also have a right to sue you for doing so, if I can clearly show that they were lies, and hurt my business interests.

    2. Agammamon   3 years ago

Just a business decision, after all.

Some of the evidence the BBC was going to show was found on Hunter Biden's laptop. Modi's government just did what any Mainstream (or not-so-Mainstream) Western Media outlet would've done.

Google pays an hourly wage of $100. My most recent online earnings for a 40-hour work week were $3500. According to my younger brother’s acquaintance, he works roughly 30 hours each vad02 week and earns an average of $12,265. I’m in awe of how simple things once were.

  7. Cyto   3 years ago

Wait, are we woried about government censoring the internet or not?

I am so confused. I thought this was perfectly fine... It was telling them *not* to censor stuff that was the real issue.

    1. Brandybuck   3 years ago

It's only good when our side does it. An Modi... wait... I thought he was our side? Are we for or against authoritarian thugs this week? I've lost my talking points.

      1. MarkAbbott   3 years ago (edited)

I am making $92 an hour working from home. I never imagined that it was honest to goodness yet my closest companion is earning $16,000 a month by working on a laptop, that was truly astounding for me, she prescribed for me to attempt it simply. Everybody must try this job now by just using this website. http://Www.workstar24.com

  8. Rossami   3 years ago

Well, it's the BBC so there's a good chance it actually is propaganda. They squandered their reputation for credibility long ago.

Still not a valid justification for censorship.

  9. Unicorn Abattoir   3 years ago

Sounds like Modi is a proponent of Naan Violence.
