Homeland Security Is Already Mobilizing Against Potential Protests by U.S. Truckers
Plus: The EARN It Act advances, against climate despair, and more...

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is preemptively mobilizing against a potential protest by U.S. truckers inspired by their Canadian counterparts, who for weeks have been protesting against a vaccine mandate and other COVID-19 measures. "The White House said the department is 'surging additional staff' to the Super Bowl just in case," the Associated Press reports, as "the convoy could begin in Southern California as early as this weekend."
The surge is happening despite the fact that the U.S. trucker convoy isβby the DHS's own admissionβmore aspirational than anything.
In a Tuesday memo to federal, state, and local law enforcement, the DHS said "this event appears to be purely aspirational, because the event is only being discussed online and we lack any information indicating the event is actually being organized."
"There are currently no indications of planned violence or civil unrest," the memo added.
And while some discussion of a potential convoy was taking place online, "we have no indication that individuals discussing participating in these activities in the United States are engaged in anything other than First Amendment-protected activity," the DHS stated. "Nonetheless, DHS remains concerned that these events could have significant public safety implications or potentially be exploited by ideologically motivated actors to potentially act or encourage others to act violently."
That federal law enforcement is springing into action anyway isn't surprisingβit's forever creating reasons to enact more of a police state around the Super Bowl, with terrorism, counterfeit goods, and sex trafficking serving as previous pretenses. It seems a hypothetical convoy of truckers is helping to do the trick this year.
It's one of a number of reasons the department is citing for its extreme presence and increased operations at the Super Bowl:
DHS support for Super Bowl LVI includes more than 500 DHS personnel providing extensive air and maritime security resources; anti-human trafficking prevention and enforcement support; intellectual property enforcement; chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives detection technologies; venue, cyber, and infrastructure security assessments; intelligence analysis and threat assessments; and real-time situational awareness reporting for our partner.
Homeland Security Investigations promises that it will be "investigating and arresting those exploiting children, conducting human trafficking, and identifying and rescuing victims of these crimes" during the Super Bowl. (Such "human trafficking" efforts from Homeland Security tend to translate into things like scaring sex workers, arresting immigrants, and federal agents getting handjobs.)
U.S. truck protest rumors simply mean that the Super Bowl will be swarming with even more feds this year.

The Biden administration is also urging Canadian leaders to get tougher with protesting truckers:
The Biden administration urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government Thursday to use its federal powers to end the truck blockade by Canadians protesting the country's COVID-19 restrictions, as the bumper-to-bumper demonstration forced auto plants on both sides of the border to shut down or scale back production.
For the fourth straight day, scores of truckers taking part in what they dubbed the Freedom Convoy blocked the Ambassador Bridge connecting Windsor, Ontario, to Detroit, disrupting the flow of auto parts and other products between the two countries.
The White House said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg spoke with their Canadian counterparts and urged them to help resolve the standoff.
The Canadian protests have received millions of dollars in donations, first through GoFundMe and thenβonce GoFundMe rejected themβthrough another crowdfunding platform, GiveSendGo.
Now, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has persuaded the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to freeze the donations from GiveSendGo.
Meanwhile, a copycat protest has begun in France. "Dozens of trucks and vehicles left southern France on Wednesday and headed for Paris as part of a convoy opposing the country's vaccination pass program," notes The New York Times:
The demonstrators in France, who include motorcyclists and car drivers, are expected to be followed by similar convoys on Thursday and Friday. The movement's name, the "Convoi de la LibertΓ©," is a direct translation of Canada's "Freedom Convoy."

Against climate despair. "We should be concerned about climate change, but we shouldn't be paralyzed by apocalyptic dread and feelings of helplessness," writes Matt Yglesias, in a post tackling "climate anxiety," unjustified doom mongering, and how people ignore the vast middle between best- and worst-case scenarios on climate change.
"It's too late to do anything about climate change." "Runaway warming has begun; climate change is now unstoppable." "Life on Earth/human civilization will end in [5 to 30] years." There is no empirical basis for any of these claims, yet I hear them over and over again. (5/12)

Indeed, worst-case climate change scenarios are highly implausible, argues a new study out of the University of Colorado.
Reason's Ron Bailey wrote about that study's findings earlier this week. In a nutshell, the most "dire predictions were based on calculations derived from a scenario of the future in which fossil fuel and agricultural emissions over the course of this century would boost atmospheric carbon dioxide to nearly 1,400 parts per million (ppm) by 2100," notes Bailey. But emissions are unlikely to be this high, thanks to clean energy developments and reducing dependence on coal. "One of the main ways that the [worst-case] scenario goes off the rails of plausibility is that it projects a six-fold rise in global coal consumption per capita by 2100," Bailey points out. But "future coal consumption is likely to remain flat or decline."

Did the pandemic make America more libertarian? At the start of the pandemic, "it wasn't so hard to believe that the COVID-19 crisis would usher in a new American era of big, activist government," writes Scott Lincicome, director of general economics at the Cato Institute:
But a funny thing happened on our way to democratic socialism: America pushed back. Across the country, in all sorts of ways, Americans reacted to the state's activism, overreach, incoherence, and incompetence and… kinda, sorta, embraced libertarianism. Some writers are now starting to notice. "It's too soon to call this a libertarian moment," says the Wall Street Journal's Gerard Baker, using the frequently invoked term for the sudden onset of fiscally conservative, socially liberal policies that just as suddenly retreats after invocation. "But we seem at least to have reached a point where doubts about the wisdom of growing state control are salient." Conservative columnist Sam Goldman sees something similar: a 'new libertarian moment" that's arrived in the form of "opposition to restrictions on personal conduct, suspicion of expert authority, and free speech for controversial opinions have become dominant themes in center-right argument and activism.'
I tend to agree with Goldman and Baker that we do seem to be entering another "libertarian moment" in America, but for almost entirely different reasons. They focus on the populist resistance to various pandemic policies and restrictions, which indeed features a strong whiff of what the New York Times' Ross Douthat once called "folk libertarianism" but (like most populist movements) is unwieldy, incoherent, and most likely ephemeral. As we've discussed, in fact, recent history has taught quite well that libertarian-looking populist movements canβand in last decade's case certainly didβquickly morph into rather un-libertarian things.
By contrast, I see the "libertarian moment" elsewhereβand in a more serious and optimistic direction. In particular, the pandemic seems to have ushered in a rash of real and lasting policy reforms, as well as a noticeable change in elite national mindset about certain economic issues, that all fall squarely in my libertarian wheelhouse."

Video shows an unconscious woman getting pummeled with a metal baton and a large wooden stick by D.C. Metro Police Officer Lila Morris. She appears to hit the woman with the wooden shillelagh four times in rapid succession before it breaks.
Since it was a Trump supporter being beaten, the action was considered reasonable.

I bet White Mike had his hand down his pants before even clicking on the video link, just based on the title alone.
Metal and wooden sticks are no match for assult fire extinguishers. God keep those brave, brave cops.
Anyone know if that video is available in its raw form (no circles/arrows) anywhere?
It is on twitter. At one point there was an attempt to get those posts taken down. but rebelnews has done a lot of good work on the capitol videos.
Thanks, I'll have to keep looking. So far, they only other one I found is so pixelated it makes it nearly useless.
The DoJ has the high rez videos, but they are reluctant to release.
Rebelnews is Canadian too. All this joining hands across the border to beat the empire together is heartwarming.
It really is. I haven't felt as good about something happening in the broader world as I do about the Trucker protests for a long time.

A Washington D.C. medical examiner claims Boyland died of an overdose of Adderall, which her father confirmed she has been taking for roughly 10 years. Boylanβs friends and family arenβt buying that.
Adderall is safe enough to give to children. An adult dose is 20-40mg and as a class 1 controlled substance, you can't get more than a 30 day supply at a time. A lethal dose for 120 lb person would be roughly 1000mg (an entire month's supply) and Boyland had been taking it for 10 years.
She died due to an overdose of iron applied externally to the skull while having Adderall in her system.
If anything exposes the left for the agenda-driven sacks of shit that they really are, simply compare this to the saga of George Floyd.
The thing about all stimulants is that you develop a tolerance to them. If she had been taking it for ten years, it would likely have taken significantly more than 10,000 mg to kill her. You don't take a month's supply by accident. And there is no evidence she was suicidal. The medical examiner is lying.
"If anything exposes the left for the agenda-driven sacks of shit that they really are, simply compare this to the saga of George Floyd."
Exactly this. To even question St. Floyd was not absolutely strangled by chauvin was blasphemy, and to mention he was tanked up with legit high doses of fentanyl that could kill a person made you a racist. Even though fentanyl OD's happen every fucking day.
Contrast that with an "Adderall overdose" which we see...hardly ever, in the setting of someone literally beating you to death with a fucking club. Yup, nothing to see here, was clearly the drugs.
But dont worry, they def wont use this logic for political persecutions, thats for sure.

That was my first thought too. haha
My mother was a teacher in the Head Start program in the 1960s. The parents who enrolled their children were mainly interested in the free childcare and also the sort to see education as something one paid for, like house painting or car repair. Almost none saw education as a participatory process.
So, they sat back during the years their children were in school, expecting that it was the teachers' responsibility to ensure homework was done or indeed, that anything was learned at all.
I believe this explains the eventual outcomes.
The biggest sin of free public education is that it instilled the idea in the parents that they had no responsibility for the education of their children. If you didn't have free public education and parents had to pay to educate their children, they wouldn't see the school as this magic building where you drop the kid off 180 days a year for 12 years and they are somehow magically educated.
The biggest reason why private schools do better than public schools is because since they are paying for it, parents take an interest in and ownership of their kids' educations. In public schools they often do not.
it instilled the idea in the parents that they had no responsibility for the education of their children.
This isn't true of all parents. Just the lazy ones.
Until the education complex literally removed parents from the education process by changing math.
Iβm coming around to the opinion that moving to NuMath was a concerted effort to force kids into relying on teachers and schools as the ONLY authority figures, giving strong incentives for kids to ignore their parents, and removing them from the educational process. Why should one see their parents as authorities on anything at all when they canβt even do a basic 3rd grade math problem?
Of course most parents can easily solve the problem, but itβs βwrongβ because βMy teacher doesnβt teach it like that.β
"The biggest reason why private schools do better than public schools is because since they are paying for it, parents take an interest in and ownership of their kids' educations. In public schools they often do not."
You very well may be confusing correlation with causation. Just because private schools tend to have motivated and active parents doesn't mean that the private school caused it. It could also be that active and motivated parents tend to seek out private schools. Likewise, just because many uninvolved parents send their kids to public schools is not proof that the public school CAUSED them to not be involved. It is just possible that these parents weren't going to be involved in their kids' education whether public was an option or not.
The biggest correlation of a child's education is the education level of the parents. This is likely because parents who traditionally took their education seriously to get through college have internalized the behaviors necessary to pass onto their children. I and many parents send our kids to public education, and we remain very involved in the schools. Them being public has not caused us to avoid involvement.
I am not saying your hypothesis is 100% wrong. I agree that on the margins, there is an effect. How large that effect is remains debatable.
I think that public education caused a lot of people to stop taking an interest in the education of their children because they thought the schools were doing it.
Teachers used to be educated in the subject they were teaching. Once "education" became it's own feild we were screwed. Even in my private grade school the math teachers had math degrees, the history teachers had history degrees the science teachers had science degrees, and the PE teacher was a bull dyke.
Though I was still board out of my skull do to uninteresting material, the teachers were able to give me more material because they knew what to read.
And still way better than any crap Chicago public school
Teachers being educated in their chosen subject? Thatβs crazy talk.
I am always amazed by the level of understanding some teachers lack in subjects they are supposed to teach. Science is the one I notice the most as I have an MS in Animal Science (a biology discipline) and have numerous peer reviewed publications, and teach science to adults.
Yeah- in the mid 90's there was this push among teachers' associations to get pedagogy its own field. They sold the idea that the most important part of Teaching was not knowledge of the material, but instead knowledge of how to feed content into a kids' skull. The were trying to elevate the practice of a "Teacher" to be the same as practicing Law or Medicine. Over the last 30 years, we have seen that this has made a shit ton of colleges rich while doing jack shit for students.
I have to give the Marxist credit, they were absolutely brilliant in their insidious dismantling of America.
I think a lot of people *cough*Boomers*cough* stopped taking an interest in their childrenβs education whether it was paid for with their tax dollars or with a check directly to the school.
If and when the industrial statist educators ever admit that parental participation is critical, then we will hear demands for equity in parenting. I wonder how they will redistribute that.
The Chinese have demonstrated some facility with redistributing parenting.
I think of my parents and grandparents. Neither of my Dad's parents had college, but all of their children are well educated, rather through university or self educated. My Dad is one of the most thoughtful, well read people you'd ever met but he doesn't have a college degree and has always been blue collar and proud of it. My Mother's mom did have a college degree, and actually taught for awhile, but my Grandfather left school after 8th grade and went to work. He never stopped educating himself, he constantly had a book in his hands if he wasn't playing cribbage or woodworking or gardening.
One of my biggest complaints with public school is how much they force feed reading to kids today. They've taken the joy out of reading all together. I can't get any of my kids interested in reading for fun. All three of me and my siblings were avid readers. I read all the time, and so does my wife. My daughter is probably the most read of our three kids, but even with her, she isn't consistent with it. Reading in my opinion is probably one of the best ways to learn and one of the best ways to learn how to think. Schools have sapped the enjoyment out of reading. My oldest is finally getting into audio books, so I hope that will broaden his horizons. And all this emphasis on forced reading hasn't improved reading scores, it's made them worse. And that is the worse thing about public schools, like any government program, is that despite evidence that their programs aren't working, they just double down on it.
Doing is the best way to learn
Doing is good learning for practical skills. But reading is good for learning about civics.
There are ample studies that show reading anything- ANYTHING- improves brain function. I listen to audio books quite often, and that is good. But the act of turning symbols on a page into words that you hear in your mind to images and concepts is incredibly important for mental development.
I too agree with you that one of the worst things schools could do was make reading for enjoyment an assigned activity. As parents, it is hard enough to get our kids to step away from the instant gratification offered by electronic devices. Making reading a chore instead of one of the entertainment options hasn't helped.
I bought my kids the Kindle ebooks (not the ipad ones, the epaper kind) and that has done wonders. My youngest liked it because it was an electronic device, and started really enjoying how quickly she could access any book that her friends told her about. She has done so much reading that she was actually punished at school for reading in between assignments (!!!).
I tend to do audio books for long trips, because it makes the trips go faster, and radio reception is terrible across most of Montana as soon as you get ten to twenty miles outside of town.
Don't push your kids too hard, i understand school forced reading of crap is bad enough but parents can be an issue as well. I had bad grades for reading in school due to that and my parents were big readers and worried about me. But i had to quit reading in front of them since anytime they saw me reading they would say "if you like that you will like these" and they would literally pile books 3' high in front of me. I would have to tell them just because i feel like reading "x" today does not mean i want to read more of it tomorrow. So i had to quit reading in front of my parents for years, couldn't even talk about it. I do read a lot even, re purchased a couple of books that i had at University to re learn astronomy and other history years after leaving school
Yeah I may be guilty of acting like your parents at times. Good advice.
The biggest sin of free public education is that it instilled the idea in the parents that they had no responsibility for the education of their children.
That's partially true. But, I think it misses something. The public schools also actively disempower the parent at every step of the way. Especially the poorer ones. A private school treats the parents and students as customers. A public school treats them as product. In that world, is it surprising that parents give up?
Yup. When our daughter was getting to kindergarten age, I went to a an information night for our school district. I found the principle for the school our daughter would likely attend and chatted him up. I asked what help they needed from parents, and the guy said (not paraphrasing) "If you can just get your kid to school with clothes, a coat and a decent breakfast, I'll take care of the rest!" This place was (and still is) a 5/10 on the Great Schools rating.
Imagine a principle who- knowing what we do about the importance of parental involvement- insists that his failing school needs no help from motivated parents.
NuMath is the proof that parental disenfranchisement is an equal opportunity game.
They literally changed math, and made it exceptionally hard for parents to help their kids with any math related material. Without literally having to relearn math in a way that is more convoluted, the vast majority parents cannot help their children. The education system has literally supplanted all parental authority with that of βThe Teachers.β Why should Johnny see his parents as an authority when his father canβt even do a simple 2nd grade math problem? βThatβs not how Ms. X does it!β
Changing math all but completely removed almost all parents from the educational process.
"Biden's approval rating hits a new low."
Sorry, I don't believe that.
Reason.com's leading economics expert has repeatedly explained how Biden deserves credit for creating the strongest economy ever. And it's common knowledge that when the economy is good, the President's approval rating tends to be high.
#LibertariansForBiden
Every Biden approval poll is average; worse than the last poll but better than the next.
But it just doesn't make sense for his numbers to be low when he's doing such a fantastic job. I suspect the Russians are blackmailing the major polling companies. Biden should have Robert Mueller look into it.

The polls are just misinformation and need to be suppressed.
7.5% stronger than last year, judging by tobaccy prices.
Is that the spittin or chewin kind?
Well I look forward to people in Florida running them over if they go there. Or maybe they should be tear gassed just like the protesters in DC were.
Or shot in the face for trespassing! Totes legit.
By protesters in DC do you mean the ferocious iNsurRectIONiSts detained indefinitely without charges, or the Mostly Peaceful Protesters who attacked the Whitehouse and were immediately bailed out by billionaires?

Cool, now I know what to do next time BLM rolls through my town.

It's always pedophiles, always.
Why and how?
Am I the only one wondering if this event was added to some list of "violence associated with the trucker convoy protests" that was ultimately used as justification to declare them illegal?
All violence mentioned is violence against the truckers
Yes, and on any of the MSM networks it will be displayed as such, and repeated until Joe Public thinks the truckers are running people over.
Unlike the anti-white, racist, BLM supporter who actively ran over a bunch of white people. No mention of anything but accidental parade crash.
Or like a biracial kid shooting three white guys in self defense was evidence of white supremacy.
Wait, the truckers are setting fire to buildings, firing off explosives towards cops, throwing ice filled water bottles at cops, using laser pointers?
"Or maybe they should be tear gassed just like the insurrectionists in DC were."
FTFY.
The worst drivers in Florida are the ones with New York plates.
This protest has been quite instructive in showing just what kind of "civil disobedience" is actually supported by the champagne socialist/corporate establishment and their mass media organs, and that's "protests" which advance neomarxist agendas and globalist governing schemes.
Note how several months of rioting, murder, and property destruction was rewarded and encouraged by these same elites, while the peaceful Honkening has been utterly villified. What's happening here is that these people are absolutely SEETHING that their playbook is being used against them, and they think using the same old power words like "racist" or "white supremacist" of "fascist" is going to cause the opposition to melt away like it does against the conservacucks. Like Ceaucescu, they really have no clue how much people outside their TPTB-sponsored cocktail parties utterly hates their guts.
The libs have had their brains completely broken in half by the pandemic, because it's not about the pandemic anymore. It's about a pampered, spoiled, globalist upper class wanting to silence opposing opinions, wants you to shut up about those opinions, and wants you to obey without question to "earn" your freedoms and normalcy "back" that they blatantly stole, a theft that they've been gleefully rubbing in your face.
The ones with a smidgeon of awareness are scared enough that they're backing off on their 2-year-long "emergency" powers in an effort to turn down the temperature, but the bobblehead at the top and his puppeteers still think the majority supports them.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is preemptively mobilizing against a potential protest by U.S. truckers inspired by their Canadian counterparts...
At least they're finally thinking about potential future supply chain issues.
Nice to know the right to protest is no more respected by the Left than free speech, gun rights, free assembly...
Only if it's the wrong people protesting. Can't let those kulaks have there say. Filthy, redneck reactionaries must be silenced.
Don't remember hearing any of this shit when BLM was rolling.
"The agency has warned for months of the possibility of heightened violence by domestic extremists, fueled in part by conspiracy theories surrounding the 2020 election, the Covid-19 pandemic and the January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol."
This is pure "burning of Reichstag" shit.

DHS has a lot of potential.
Looking forward to the kinetic actions.
Are their uniforms all black by any chance? If not they should be.
Now, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has persuaded the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to freeze the donations from GiveSendGo.
The true north wrong and freeze.
Anti-charter actions like this by Ford and the judge are why western democracies will have to hold post-Covid Nuremberg trails.
They're both familiar with the Charter. They know that their actions are illegal.
What's more important? Legal or equity?
I bet equity will be the answer if we poll all of the stakeholders.
"Your guilt has already been determined. This is merely a sentencing hearing."
Except GiveSendGo is based in the US and is paying out to US based groups. All bark and no bite.
Biden has already asked DHS to start working with Canada's requests regarding the trucker protests.
I am sure they will unleash their attack dog AG in due course. Garland hasn't seen a fascist policy yet that he wouldn't rip the throat out of those who oppose it.
We finally found something McConnell did correctly. Keeping that asshole off the Supreme Court.
We know no king but the king in The North whose name is Stark.
Pretty sure it's a senile old lady named Elizabeth and soon to be a simp named Charles.
Gotta love GiveSendGo's response to this.
Video exists of an MPD officer beating an unconscious woman in the Capitol tunnels during J6. There are at least 4 swings after the woman is obviously not conscious. The baton appears to break from usage. No cops helped this woman but lied about giving CPR. Only prorestors attempted CPR.
Cop investigation finalizes saying cops did nothing wrong and the woman died of an overdose... from prescribed Adderall she's been on for a decade.
https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/kevindowneyjr/2022/02/10/cop-beats-unconscious-dying-female-trump-supporter-probe-deems-it-objectively-reasonable-n1558188
Too bad she wasn't George floyd.
She was an insurrectionist Jesse. So, it was okay to beat her as she was lying on the floor unconscious.
Wait....the
thugsMPD said this was: objectively reasonable.I mean, how could you not think that beating an unconscious woman to death was not a perfectly reasonable action by Washington DC's finest? Besides, she was on the wrong team...
The cops killed two J6 protesters that day.
Meanwhile Mike and his pals are still peddling the lies that the protesters brought zip ties, molotov cocktails and guns to the Capitol building and smeared poo everywhere.
Better check the other "medical emergencies" among the protesters.
Just more evidence of the violence conducted by the insurrection.
Canadian cops are now going door to door telling Canadians how to properly protest if they even show any support for the truck convoys.

Canada is also trying to make it illegal to use donations from GiveSendGo for the protests.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-despite-ontario-court-order-givesendgo-promises-donations-will-flow-to-freedom-convoy
There has been a Bitcoin For Truckers fundraiser at Tallyco.in that has already raised the equivalent of more than $1M on behalf of the truckers.
It won't be as easy for the government to shutdown crypto donations.
I'm sure the spooks from the CIA are already in the process of figuring that out.
Fuck Justin Trudeau.
Dreamy, right?
If his real daddy had raised him instead of that effete faggot Pierre, Justin would have embraced his spicy Cuban blood and been far less of a globalist limpdick.
Fuck Justin Castreau
As I said yesterday, this isn't a libertarian moment, it's populism, and mainly because the elites, rather conservative, progressive or libertarian, have ignored the working class for too long. Libertarians have no seat at the table because the party is a perpetual also ran, and because most outspoken libertarians lack realism, pragmatism and have sacrificed the good for the perfect, achieving neither. That is why I no longer describe myself as libertarian and instead now identify as a classical liberal/Constitutional conservative.
The libertarian movement has made itself irrelevant with it's both sides narrative, instead of working with either party to try and steer them in a more libertarian path.
All of that and most public libertarians' loyalty lies with the elite. Culturally places like reason and CATO loath average people and spend their time apologizing for and trying to stay in the good graces of the elite.

Local news. Nothing to see here. Reason says move along.
If the president was still Trump and the representative bore the sign of the (D), I wonder how many Sullum articles would have been written about it by now?
50+
Sudderman would have written a very long rant about it for sure.
ChemJeff will be along shortly to say this is all paranoia and that the case is closed.
They didnβt even arrest anyone, so no problem.
But putting course work online for parents to see is the real chillin effect
"Capitol Police Intelligence Division"
Am I the only person in this country who reads this and thinks we are already living in Orwell's world?
Why the fuck do the Capitol Police have an intelligence division? Here is what their website says:
" Assistant Chief of Police for Protective and Intelligence Operations Protective Services Bureau collects and analyzes information to produce intelligence, assess threats, enforce the law, identify risks, and develop and employ risk mitigation, Member protection, and enforcement strategies. Specialty Units include Investigations, Intelligence and Interagency Coordination, and Dignitary Protection."
https://www.uscp.gov/the-department/bureaus-and-offices
This is a police department whose jurisdiction is the Capitol. That's it. They should not be getting intelligence on ANYTHING. If they are worried about spies on their property, that is why you have the FBI. The idea that they have people roaming congress whose duty is to collect intelligence is pure insanity.
Biden's approval rating hits a new low.
Rooooooooooo-gan!
But people chant his name in stadiums from coast to coast? And he's inspired a whole genre of hit songs? The pollsters must be wrong.
"The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is preemptively mobilizing against a potential protest by U.S. truckers inspired by their Canadian counterparts"
Always remember that the aristocracy and the gentry class let cities burn in 2020 when it politically suited them, but will use the full might of the state against protesters when it does not. Even if some of that might is illegitimate or even illegal.
FBI against upset parents, indefinite detentions for J6ers, etc.
aristocracy and the gentry class let cities burn in 2020
They didn't let cities burn, they pumped millions of dollars into burning those cities.
Yeah this. It was their idea.
Can't let the kulaks have a voice. They're just counterrevolutionaries and thus eligible for summary executions.

That was before China paid them.
Free Tibet? Only in vegas
Yes, but then MCA past away.
In related news, despite a decade of Hollywood toeing the CCP line, China is banning more American movies from showing in China, and Hollywood box office takes in China are way down.
As with anything else China has done trade wise, China has developed its own film entertainment industry, ran and funded by the government, and is now restricting any competition from outside sources.
You mean China always acts in bad faith and was just using Hollywood to propagandize to Americans while stealing their IP and learning all their tricks of the trade?
I know, right? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
In that awesome "Empire of Dust" documentary (the one that birthed the "it's all so tiresome" meme) about China's Belt and Road project in the Congo, the Chinese engineer tells the Congolese guy that exact same thing--that China was dominated by the European powers, then learned their technologies to the point that they were able to do that stuff themselves after the Europeans bugged out. Basically, they get their asses kicked, then figure out how they're being dominated and set up their own independent versions. Meanwhile, the Congolese and most of Africa never bothered with that--they're using infrastructure that hasn't been kept up since the 1950s because their people never bothered to learn how.
Incidentally, that's one of the neomarxist/globalist criticisms of the First World--that they don't fund the Third World in perpetuity until the latter figures out how to operate and be as prosperous as the former (which they never do, as the documentary shows. Unless China permanently colonizes their Belt-and-Road countries, all that work is just going to deteriorate again once China pulls out).
Enes Kanter the basketball player who has stood up to china is now out of a job. he was traded then dropped quietly.. the MBA is in
chinas pockets just for money. they had enough money but for the love of more money they will support genocide.
The NBA should pay attention to what has happened to Hollywood. I bet even now the CCP is developing its own professional basketball association and soon will begin banning NBA games.
People are interested in Enes Canter only because heβs criticizing some of the countryβs highest-profile Black voices.. If he wants to play in the NBA he should just shut up and dribble.
Richard Gere? Brad Pitt?
"Eleven states this week have moved to end mask mandates."
You might have seen conservatives seize on these stories, using them to promote narratives like "Democrats finally realized their covid hysteria is unpopular and they're desperate to change course!" But that's not what's happening.
What's really going on is that the science has changed. Biden has fulfilled his promise to shut down the virus. He and the Democrats deserve 100% of the credit for easing mask mandates.
#DefendBidenAtAllCosts
Biden has fulfilled his promise to shut down the virus.
And one can be certain this will be heralded in the SOTUA.
OBL, you should know better than any of us that the real reason is the recent stock market correction. It cost our patron billionaires too much money.
So what if more people died in 2021 than 2020.

But Leftist indoctrination isn't really happening in schools. And it isn't even leftist indoctrination of real stuff (like we should have social welfare programs). No, this is crypto-religious indoctrination. If they were singing, "If you don't pray, you're no friend of mine", it wouldn't be substantially different.
This is deeply creepy as fuck, and it is getting pretty annoying that the COVID response has turned DCAF into a trademarkable phrase.
This was on the Upper West Side, so it's not exactly a shock that it's a Branch Covidian haven.
"It's safe to vax and if your friends don't vax then they ain't no friends of mine,"
Think the propagandist teachers paid the rights to the artist they ripped off? Of course not. They were too busy pandering to the mega-corporations to pay attention to a single artist.
We should be concerned about climate change, but we shouldn't be paralyzed by apocalyptic dread and feelings of helplessness
Why is everyone suddenly trying to get off the tiger they've been riding for the past couple years/decades?
Wish people were calming down and being more rational about climate change, but I donβt think Matthew Yglesiasβ article or BjΓΈrn Lomborgβs new book are going to change that many minds.
"Wish people were calming down and being more rational about climate change"
Calm and rational are polar opposites of the people pushing climate change. Dont expect either

Because energy prices are up 30% and predicted to keep growing. This is hurting key democratic constituents the most and causing many of them to flee the party. Gas is expected to reach $4/gallon, possibly even $5/gallon by this summer, fueling more inflation and drastically cutting into the economy. Expect recession by this fall.
Don't you dare blame it on shutting down pipelines and saying no to energy exploration either. Biden will get mad at you.
Fuck, I hope Texas is insulated enough to avoid that.
Those are predicted national averages, so some states will see much worse, Texas may be a little lower, Texas and Oklahoma tend to produce a lot of oil and have a lot of refinery capabilities, so they tend to have lower prices. North Dakota and Montana (and Alaska) produce a lot of oil but have very limited refining capabilities, so our prices tend to be higher than Texas and Oklahoma.
North Dakota has proposed building more refining capabilities, but it's all tied up in regulatory hell. Montana hasn't, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gianforte and the state legislature calls for more. Bullock never would have.
Why is everyone suddenly trying to get off the tiger they've been riding
They hope if they start telling everyone to stop being insane we'll forget they led the insanity.
Should the feds end no-knock warrants? The families of Breonna Taylor and Amir Locke say yes.
Exigent circumstances would then get a big boost.
I can see maybe some uses of no-knock raids, such as hostage rescue. But even that I am willing to say I am wrong. They should be severely restricted at the least, and any used should be thoroughly reviewed, including a review of the judges who authorized the warrants. But I also think judges should be punished for issuing bad warrants in the first place.
Storming into a building during a KNOWN hostage situation is so rare that we shouldn't even need to consider it as an exception.
But storming into a compound to capture a person, or capture evidence is a whole other matter. A judge signing off on a no-knock warrant is basically saying that evidence or detainment is *so* important that he is willing to override a person's right to self defense, and put them in conflict with an officer.
They may be rare but not vanishingly so, thus they must be considered. However, in your latter cases they should be banned.
If it seems like the only way to avoid innocent people getting killed, then maybe a raid like that is justified.
Potential destruction of evidence of a drug offense definitely isn't sufficient reason.
I agree.
The families of Breonna Taylor and Amir Locke are against no-knock raids? Knock me over with a feather. That's like saying the families of suicide bombing victims are against.....suicide bombings.
What we need are judges, cops, and politicians who are against no-knock raids.
Didn't some libertarian leaning Senator introduce a bill to severely curtail these?
Depends. Did he vote to impeach Trump?
One of the most surreal moments in the BLM insanity was when a bunch of protesters surrounded Rand Paul insisting that he "say her name".

Well, if you call being suspended repeatedly or being unable to read or do simple math a 'negative effect'.
This has been the case historically, since team blue, and obama in particular pushed for pre-K programs, touting their effectiveness. Pre-K has never been shown to be effective, but is a waste of money, and does allow the state to get it's claws into children's minds earlier.

"The White House said the department is 'surging additional staff' to the Super Bowl just in case," the Associated Press reports, as "the convoy could begin in Southern California as early as this weekend."
Well, I haven't seen any confirmed reports of Republicans sighted anywhere in Southern California, but I suspect there may be some flying in from Cincinnati. We all know how dangerous Republicans can be! They're both insurrectionist and racist, so I'm glad to know that Biden and the progressives are sending in Homeland Security. Have they shut down any mention of truckers on social media yet? I know they've been doing a good job stopping people from talking about vaccines. We obviously can't have people talking about truckers on social media--not at a time like this.
Iβm sure they will make going to the super bowl a pleasant experience.
OK, there are huge numbers of Republicans in Southern California, home of the John Wayne Airport for heavenβs sakes. But you know that.
San Francisco used to have Conservatives in high city office as recently as the 1970s. That has nothing to do with the state of California now.
Yes, liberals dominate California government, but there are sizable populations of conservatives in Southern California, and in Sacramento and the Central Valley.
Yes, liberals dominate California government,
To a rough approximation there are zero liberals in California Government. Far leftists dominate the California Government.
Orange County is called Red County in GTA. California has more conservatives than Idaho and South Carolina put together.
Orange County isn't as red as it used to be.
San Diego County is now probably redder.
1992 maybe. Pete Wilson is a ghost
California "conservatives" are untrustworthy. Individuals can prove they're ok, but it can't be assumed.
Do you have evidence to support your claim?
For instance, in King County there have been only for County Executives in office since 1986. The last Republican to hold office: 1968.
Washington hasn't had a Republican governor since 1985. So yes, back when they named the airport, they could occasionally be seen in the wild.
Sorry, typo, last King County exec to hold office, 1986.
Progressives are too dumb to detect sarcasm. That's another reason why progressives are America's most horrible people.
Yes, you can find Republicans in southern California, and in related news, I'm not really hungry enough to eat a horse and I didn't actually sleep like a log.
And Iβm not a progressive.

There's been a lot of big whoppers told here in the comments over the years, but wow...

Poor Dee.
Look its a knucklehead convention.
When everyone thinks you're an asshole youre probably an asshole white Mike.
It's always everyone else's fault. Never poor White Mike's.
Why are you suddenly talking about Washington State in a conversation about California?
Point taken. But Washington's political landscape is remarkably similar to California and the info was easy to look up for me as to how rare-as-hens-teeth Republicans are in any position of meaningful power. But you're right, my point has nothing to do with California. But I do know that you can take Washington, and then septuple it, and you have California.
Got it. But the point of my comment was only that Ken's joke about flying Republicans into California didn't make much sense. Not anything about California's government.
The point of your comment was to shit up the thread with your squawking.
"OK, there are huge numbers of Republicans in Southern California, home of the John Wayne Airport for heavenβs sakes. But you know that."
This is Mike playing the offended waif. He knows Ken was being sarcastic, but his goal isn't to discuss things. He wants it out of bounds to be sarcastic about Deep, deep blue states.
That won't stop him from painting wide swaths of people he doesn't agree with as "partisan morons", of course.
https://reason.com/2022/02/02/can-the-medical-innovations-used-to-fight-covid-19-finally-defeat-hiv/?comments=true#comment-9336124
We should consider the possibility that she's really too dumb to detect any level of sarcasm. She may genuinely believe that I think you can't find a single Republican among 20 million southern Californians--because she's that stupid.
She is very dumb.
Or just blinded by immense hatred.
Not the point. I knew you were attempting a joke. The point was your joke wasn't very good.
Thus proving again that you have no sense of humor.
Then why correct him? No, youβre lying.
They're not worried about Republicans per se, their enemy is the American people. You know, those filthy peasants that get all uppity every so often.
In a Tuesday memo to federal, state, and local law enforcement, the DHS said "this event appears to be purely aspirational, because the event is only being discussed online and we lack any information indicating the event is actually being organized."
"There are currently no indications of planned violence or civil unrest," the memo added.
Yeah, but remember the Left's view that mere words are "violence", "slow motion insurrection", etc.
It's not that they can't tell the difference between a protest and an insurrection. It's that they don't want any protests. We would have had massive protests here in the U.S., long before the Canadians, if it hadn't been for Biden, the progressives, the Democrats, and the media treating every protest like a case for the FBI's domestic terrorism unit. The scariest thing about this is how effective Biden's authoritarian tactics have been at crushing any expressions of dissent. When was the last time a president was this unpopular and didn't provoke any significant protests?
Because he got 81 million votes, the most popular president evah!
Actual protests like what is going on in Canada right now are rare in the United States. What the media calls protests in the United States are almost never actual protests. They are Democratic astroturf operations designed to intimidate and in some cases terrorize opponents and the public.
Republicans hold protests. They did so especially after the Tea Party reoriented itself towards Republicans. The Tea Party began as a protest movement.
I'd say the pandemic would have been an added discouragement, but it didn't stop Canadian truckers or their supporters. I think Americans are afraid of the FBI coming after them--and given that Homeland Security is moving to counter protests before they even begin, they're right to worry.
Another thing that may be killing protests is social media shutting these things down before people can use social media to organize a protest.
Civil society, the way we're used to it, may not be possible with the progressives dominating the government and the media.
The Taxed Enough Already (TEA) party is a great example of how Republicans, just like the people they hate, can coopt a principled movement and turn it into garbage. Just like BLM coopted police reform and turned it into garbage.
Youre not one to ever talk about principles.
So sarcasmic swallowed the CNN narrative about the Tea Party. How unsurprising.
By the way Ken, you had it right before you muted me for using logic.
Democrats are totalitarians.
Republicans are authoritarians.
By encouraging libertarians to vote R you're encouraging us to vote for authoritarians.
Now you say Democrats are authoritarians, and Republicans are not.
You're wrong. You were right the first time.
But you changed your tune because of what I said, and then muted me like a coward so you can no longer be confronted by logic.
Cite on you using logic?
And sarcasmic just once again proves why we will never have a real libertarian movement in the US. Playing the both sides, and expecting perfect rather than good will never get results. But I guess it's better to be a contrarian rather than actually achieving anything. That way you don't have to ever face reality or possible failure.
Hypocrites gonna hypocrite.
"Another thing that may be killing protests is social media shutting these things down before people can use social media to organize a protest."
The biggest cause that I see is the government and media doing everything in its power to paint every single potential protest from the right as EXTREME.
* There is a reason Zoolander's first speech about the Freedom Convoy was to call it racist and white supremacist. They want people in the center to say "I might not like these mandates, but I'm not going to THAT protest."
* The same has happened with Vaccine protests domestically. Many people, including myself, are very vocal about the evil of Mandates. But the media and even people on these comments has tried to characterize them as anti-science, Trump fans. Again, the deeply creepy as fuck tactic here is to make "protesting this mandate" synonymous with "confederate flag waiving, MAGA hat wearing, Trump loving, tiki-torch bearing racist".
* The same has happened with school boards, where the media has tried its best to portray every single controversial School Board meeting as victim of unruly and violent parents.
* Contrast this with the laughably ironic media portrayals of media sitting in front of a burning building, explaining that the protests were mostly peaceful. They did *everything* in their power to consistently distinguish between peaceful protestors and rioters. The opposite of what they have done with anyone protesting on the right.
In their hearts, most Americans are peaceful people who want to be seen as righteous and good citizens. This is used against them when the media and government paint any organized disagreement as being driven by people they don't want to associate with. This is the key driver (imho) keeping the right from uniting on protests.
The Biden administration announced that he was siccing the FBI terrorism task force on parents who oppose their local school boards because they want people to be afraid of opposing their local school boards.
It's like when Putin poisons his political enemies with radioactive materials.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_of_Alexander_Litvinenko
Why does Putin use a method of assassinating a political adversary that can only be explained by assuming it was Putin? The answer is because Putin wanted his critics to know he did it--to scare them into silence.
Neither the Gestapo nor the NKVD had very many agents, and neither did the Stasi or the KGB. They acted like they had more than they actually did, and one of their most effective tactics was to catch a few dissenters, punish them publicly, and also punish the people who didn't do anything other than fail to report them. This encouraged people to report their neighbors and spread a myth that they had more agents then they really did.
And this guy is the President of the United States.
I don't even know if it's technically illegal to sic the FBI's terrorism unit on parents for opposing their local school boards, but it's the worst thing Biden has done in my opinion.
Worse than flagging posts and accounts for Facebook to censor.
I bet it violates the federal law that forbids federal officials from utilizing law enforcement for personal gain. I can't remember the law, someone posted it yesterday in regards to the New York AG threatening Spotify to try and force them to censor Rogan.
Trust in media is the lowest it's ever been, especially among the right and center. One of the main reasons people cite for the poor approval is the blatant partisanship, especially towards the left, and dishonest reporting. The riots and the pandemic have only cemented those feelings.
There is growing unrest, and trying to contain the unrest like the left is doing is very likely to result in it exploding and actually resulting in violence. Once that Pandora's Box has been opened, none of us will be happy with the results.
People feel ignored, and none of the elites are listening, not the Republicans, the Democrats nor the Libertarians. It frankly scared me.
RCP has the average Biden poll at a disapproval rate of 53.9%
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president-biden-job-approval-7320.html
His disapproval rate is higher than Kamala Harris', and their disapproval rates are both higher than Donald Trump's.
It is not the disapproval rating that is the worst part. Every President in the last 20 years has had high disapproval ratings. It comes with the country being so polarized. What those Presidents had that Biden doesn't is a core group of people who strongly supported them. Biden's "strongly support" numbers are in the teens. He is like 40 points under water when you compare strongly support to disapprove. That is just epically bad.
I don't want to break out the same statistics for 100th time, but, historically, the first midterm a new president faces is almost always a referendum on what the new president has done in his first two years.
The median number of House seats the president's party loses in his first midterm is in the mid-20s, and the only presidents who have been able to do well were for reasons that made the American people, atypically, unite behind him--with Bush Jr. doing especially well after 9/11 and before we invaded Iraq being one example.
Apart from that, in this midterm year, expect Biden's disapproval rating to be an excellent indication of how many seats the Democrats are likely to lose in November. And no, Biden's 54% disapproval rating isn't typical.
Bill Clinton's approval rating was up near 60% at the end of 1994, and the Democrats lost 54 House seats in the midterms.
Barack Obama's approval rating was averaging over 50% in 2010, and the Democrats lost 63 House seats in the midterms.
https://news.gallup.com/poll/116677/presidential-approval-ratings-gallup-historical-statistics-trends.aspx
The 28 House Democrats who have decided not to run for reelection in 2022 already exceeds the historical median number of seats the president's party loses in his first midterm, and Biden's disapproval rating probably has a lot to do with those House Democrats deciding not to waste their time and effort. Because Biden's disapproval ratings are so high, expect him to perform more like Clinton and Obama--maybe worse since they were more popular than he is.
"Members of the presidentβs party often leave Capitol Hill during a midterm cycle because they expect the next election to go poorly. The presidentβs party almost always loses House seats in midterm elections, and the more unpopular presidents are, the more ground their party tends to lose in the House. Considering President Bidenβs approval rating sits in the low 40s less than 10 months before the election, 2022 could sting particularly badly for Democrats."
----Five Thirty Eight
"Why 28 House Democrats Arenβt Running Again"
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-28-house-democrats-arent-running-again/
Try to imagine a scenario in which Biden turns this ship around between now and November.
How does he turn around inflation or the Democrats' support for teachers' unions between now and November?
The Democrats would still lose even if his disapproval ratings were lower.
The Republican losses in 18 were actually below average for a party holding the White House.
It is going to be a historic bloodbath for Democrats. What is worse is that their high tide of 2020 was historically the smallest majority in a century. Those other bad years were when the majority party started from a much higher high point than the Democrats have now. Chances are the Democrats will have the smallest minority in Congress since at least the 20s.
"The Republican losses in 18 were actually below average for a party holding the White House."
There's no good reason to include midterms that aren't in a new president's first term. When you compare apples to apples and a president's first midterm to other presidents' first midterms, Trump performed below the median and below the average.
The first column is the number of House seats won/lost in every first term midterm since before World War I. The last column is the dominant issues in those campaigns--as I see them.
+9 1934 Franklin D. Roosevelt Great Depression Response
+8 2002 George W. Bush 9/11

-63 2010 Barack Obama TARP, ObamaCare
-77 1922 Warren Harding Republican/Progressive Split
The median number of House seats lost is 26 seats.
The average number of House seats lost is 31 seats
The Republicans lost 42 seats in Trump's first midterm in 2018.
Trump performed worse than the median and worse than the average, and he was a divisive president--regardless of whether you, I, or anyone else thinks he should be and regardless of whether we liked or disliked his policies.
A president's first midterm is typically a referendum on the new president's agenda, but that isn't as much the case when a president faces a second midterm. After his first midterm, a new president tends to not get as much done or even to attempt as much. Second midterms just aren't as much of a referendum on the president. They're often driven by other factors, and the presidents' party can do well in the House or poorly in the House despite him.
The average is 31 and the Republicans lost 42. Yes, that is above the average but not by much. And the Republicans picked up 2 Senate seats or a two percent gain in the senate. Most Presidents don't gain in the Senate their first term. So, it works out about average overall.
I know that Trump and all of his supporters were evil Ken. And he was dreadfully unpopular among actual human beings. But, the fact is that if you count everyone, not just those who matter, he was not an "unpopular" President by any objective measure.
And of course Biden is more popular Ken. Everyone I know supports Biden. I am sure you are the same.
I think the play is to start a war with Russia because historically we're hesitant to punish a President while we're at war.
Depends on how much the American people support the war and feel it is the national interest. Truman lost in 1952, Johnson was so unpopular he didn't even run in 1968, and his party still lost the race. Even winning a popular war doesn't do much to boost your chances of winning. Wilson's party was defeated in 1920, Truman almost lost in 1948, Bush the senior lost in 1992.
And the polling is pretty clear, Americans don't feel a war with Russia over Eastern Europe is worth it. Short if a Pearl Harbor type experience I don't see that changing. Putin knows this, and is banking on it. I am also growing more convinced Putin never wanted a war to begin with and all this sabre rattling was to put pressure on Ukraine and Europe to get his way diplomatically.
Truman didn't run in 1952.
My mistake Truman's hand picked successor, Stevenson. Still doesn't disprove my thesis.
We should probably add that Biden's disapproval rating averages about 54% nationally, but that national figure includes places like California and New York.
If Biden's disapproval rating is 54% nationally--including states like California and New York--how well do you think he's doing in swing districts in the Midwest?
The Democrats in purple and red swing states that aren't among the 28 who decided to retire are cannon fodder. They should be asking Joe Manchin to campaign for them--and telling Biden to stay away.
It is too early to be confident, Ken. Team R has plenty of time to incompetently fuck things up, politically. They need to raise money, stay focused, block and stymie the Biden legislative agenda, and shut down confirmations of all kinds.
It is reasonable to be confident when the politicians representing more than the median number of House seats the president's party loses have already decided not to even bother trying to get reelected. If all the wide receivers and defensive backs on the Los Angeles Rams announced that they've decided not to play in the Superbowl because they don't think they have a chance of winning, and they've decided to devote themselves to becoming insurance salesmen or open restaurants instead, I think it would be reasonable for Bengals fans to become confident that their team is likely to win the Superbowl this year.
The DNC is now having to plan on spending big in districts Biden won easily. They've even admitted as much. His popularity with suburban moms, blacks and Hispanics is the lowest in decades for a Democratic President. Maybe that doesn't equate to them voting Republican but it greatly increases the chance they won't vote at all. The voter enthusiasm gap is near historical levels, in favor of Republicans and polling on which party do you prefer (which has always tended to be biased towards Democrats) is 4+% in favor of Republicans, with some well respected polling showing double digit preference for Republicans (levels never seen before).
Also, the infighting among Democrats is greatly ratcheting up. AOC is actively attacking Nancy Pelosi about her killing the bill that would limit stock buying by serving legislatures (and their families). Pelosi, to head off these attacks has now withdrew her opposition to the bill and now says she will vote for it, if it includes mandatory reporting by the USSC of their stock earnings and holdings (I think all federal judges should be required too).
The 28 House Democrats who have decided not to run for reelection in 2022 already exceeds the historical median number of seats the president's party loses in his first midterm
They're mainly trying to get out of the way so younger folks can run and hopefully hold the line. If this was held in the last decade, the Dems probably would have lost enough seats that the GOP would have had a real shot at a veto-proof majority. But the gerrymanders are going to mitigate those losses to a certain extent, barring the suburbanites abandoning the Dems wholesale. With the Dems tarding out about schools right now, I'll concede that such a thing is not out of the realm of possibility.

βWhen was the last time a president was this unpopular and didn't provoke any significant protests?β
Thatβs your evidence? βThere havenβt been any tigers roaming around town lately, must be the new mayor, whom I donβt like, spraying anti-tiger spray all over the place!β
Exactly. The right doesn't protest very much. That may be about to change however.
Winter tends to not be street protest season in the first place.
There seem to be a lot of protests and angry people at school board meetings. There is that.
Itβs pretty cold in Canada today.

Slash the tires, empty the gas tanks, arrest the drivers, AND MOVE THE TRUCKS.
https://reformclub.blogspot.com/2022/02/judicial-spouses.html
Itβs so much easier to move trucks with flat tires.
And no gas and no one to drive them. I guess she plans to use giant cranes maybe?
She wants to major in logistics.
Double major with civics. I'm sure the operator of a crane with 1.5-2X the footprint of a tractor trailer will be overjoyed to help move the semis whose tires you slashed, gas tanks you emptied, and operators you pilloried for not
getting vaccinatedforcing other people to get vaccinated. I put the number of crane operators that would take the contract, get the crane into position, and then just disappear at 50%. What do you think? Not to mention, the trucks are on a bridge, spanning a large body of water, and an international border.
So, Floating International Boat-Cranes and barges.
She has never seen what happens to a tire under that much pressure popping anyways. I encourage her to try it once the only time she will be able to.
Depends entirely on what color the cranes are, and whether they have cute stuffed animals sitting on the dash. And accompanying music, obv.
Plus they're not "gas tanks" anyway.
Could you imagine the price and mpg if those trucks ran on gas?
Anyway, if the fuel tanks were empty and the pressure released wouldn't the airbrakes make those trucks unmovable?
Yes.
I've said this before, left-leaning types, leftists, progressives, are incapable of recognizing second and third tier consequences. They often don't see first tier consequences, for that matter. I suspect this is more than merely being ignorant, rash, and emotional -it is a defect of character.
Luckily tow trucks big enough to tow trucks are driven by truck drivers as well and they are dependent on trucks for their living so tow truck drivers are refusing to tow truck protesters trucks.
In virtually any other situation, this would result in every leftist talking about solidarity and the value of organized labor.
Thatβs NOT towing the line!
Typical of leftists: fight speech with violence.
This is the epitome of the sheltered left-liberal bugman, who doesn't know anything they haven't read on Twitter or heard on NPR. Ottawa tried to get tow truck drivers to come in and take the rigs out, and they got told to fuck off.

The number of abortions performed in Texas "fell by 60% in the first month under the most restrictive abortion law in the U.S. in decades," new figures show.
Terrible news. We Koch / Reason libertarians want as many abortions as possible. And not just because we love abortion itself.
In fact, abortion also complements our billionaire-funded open borders agenda. If fewer American menstruators are giving birth, we can say "See? Population growth is too low. Not enough workers. Guess we'll just have to import cost-effective foreign-born labor."
#ImmigrationAboveAll
But what about high fecundity immigrants who might not want to be tied down with a clump of cells? Seems like abortion will create more labor supply chain woes.
"Google, how many days to midterm elections?"
Google says 270 days.
.. federal powers ..
That means guns.
It's Canada. I bet their guns are like the ones in cartoons that pop a little flag out the barrel when you fire them, only instead of saying "Bang!" they'll say "Please stop doing that, buddy".
Gun laws up here are looser than in a lot of your states. We're an anarchist paradise compared to New York.
Here's what I got from a quick Google, feel free to correct me if this info is wrong:
You need to go get a certificate before you can buy a gun and it has a 28 day waiting period, that's only true in our worst states and I don't think even they stretch it to 28 days. This certificate is issued by some provincial bureaucrat, who can deny your permit if they for any reason think it would be unsafe for you to have a gun. They can also revoke this certificate at any time for similarly dubious reasons.
You have to provide two references and a picture, I don't think that's true in even our worst states.
There's basically no provision for concealed carry at all, again only true in our worst states and they have constant legal battles about it. Even if you do manage to get permission to carry a handgun, it's restricted to 10 rounds.
It seems like your storage requirements prohibit having any kind of useful home defense weapon ready at all times. The police can enter your home without a warrant whenever they feel like it to inspect for safe storage.
All semi-automatic center fire guns are "restricted". All handguns are at least "restricted" with some kinds prohibited outright, including small ones that might be useful for concealed carry.
Your "non-restricted" types of rifles and shotguns are limited to 5 rounds. These are all bolt or pump action guns. Maybe a semi-auto rimfire also falls into this category?
Perhaps the most important is that you have absolutely no constitutional protection for your gun rights (despite what the State government of NY things, the US constitution does apply there). You're completely at the whim of the current government. 2A isn't nearly as bulletproof as it should be but it's still a hell of a lot better than the nothing y'all got. Your PM banned 1500+ models of gun with a stroke of a pen.
Doesn't sound like you're much better off than New Yorkers (if at all), and it's basically Communist China compared to someplace like Texas.
Handgun laws in Quebec aren't long rifle laws country wide. Yes, Quebec is worse on handguns than NY, but better on long guns.

Ninety percent of Canadian truckers are vaccinated, Canada overall adult vaccination rate is 78%. This isn't about the vaccine, it's about the mandates, all of them.

BREAKING: Newly declassified documents reveal that the CIA has been secretly conducting massive surveillance programs that capture Americansβ private information.
Iβm shocked I tell you, shocked!
Just for the record; there is no such thing as private information.
For example, even previously protected medical information must now be disclosed to untrained bouncers at restaurants in fascist states.
So...they lied...again...?
This is news? I thought everyone already accepted this.

Imagine no Section 230

Everyone please remember, as the Democrats try to get behind the mask mandates, and mayors and governors in the Northeast US are trying to say it's all over now, and they were never for lockdowns, and everything is peachy keen, masks have no actual effect on anything, and they were just trying to protect everyone: These were the same assholes that threw kids out of college, with no refund, with no recourse, when they were caught not wearing masks at a party that wasn't even on school grounds. Never forget.
Part of me doesn't want things to go back to normal. I don't want normal, I want some recriminations first. How dare these people suddenly decide that the proles can have their lives back now that there is an election coming and they want to pretend none of this ever happened.
Agreed, there needs to be accountability.
These were the same assholes who arrested a guy for paddle boarding out in the middle of the ocean.
These were the same assholes who arrested a guy for camping in his van by himself in the middle of a state park.
These are the same assholes who made elderly dementia patients die alone in nursing homes, probibited funerals, and then gave George Fucking Floyd a national funeral tour.
Never forget.
Seems like there was some other national tragedy that was overwhelmingly subsumed by the induced, far-reaching, chronic, then unprecedented but nowhere near this level, hyper-precautionary response that we were supposed to never forget, but I can't seem to remember what it was.
And in some cases still insisting upon the systemic child abuse of forcing children to wear masks
They think that people will forget two years of this horror, especially as scientific evidence is mounting that almost none of it did any good and may have actually made things worse virus wise and most certainly for society and the economy. We will be digging out of this hole for a decade, we are just starting to see the repercussions.
I don't suppose that government officials could do something radical like....just talk to the truckers and listen to their grievances. Soon the economic 'teeth' of shutting down 25% of border traffic with Canada will be felt. It should be felt.
Wasn't it AOC who said that protests (and riots?) were the voice of the unheard? Guess the truckers are making themselves heard.
Will anyone in the Canadian or US government even listen?
It was. But some people's voices should be unheard. You know, people like filthy truckers.
You would think these idiots would be smart enough to understand that you don't fuck with the people who bring you your food.
Most urbanistas are clueless about where food, energy, and even water come from, and are equally clueless that their favorite city is just one 48 hour transportation strike away from the zombie apocalypse.
And most Democratic officials are equally clueless about logistics and economics, and have brain-washed themselves, and their minions, that they can make food appear by official fiat.
They are and I have a feeling reality is about to provide them with a very harsh education.
Yes, I've heard often from Urban Progressives how they don't need rural America, but rural America needs urban America. It will be funny to see how they react to rural and working class America actually standing up for themselves. America hasn't seen anything like that since 1945-48. Just a couple days of a railroad strike brought the country to it's knees, and ranchers boycotting selling beef in protest of the meat restrictions brought the country to it's knees.
Same. The smug bias and ignorance is staggering, given the fact that urban areas don't produce anything, but do host large populations incapable of providing for themselves.
I was told rooftop gardens and open space urban farms will take up the slack, whenever I point this out. There are some that really think a couple acres will feed a city of a million or more people.
Don't worry, seven months from now there will be enough carrots to feed one family a steady diet of, um, carrots for a few weeks.
For one season. Until the seeds run out and they can't go buy any more.
They'll let enough carrots go to seed so that in another year they can feed a single family for a few weeks again!
CAN they even listen at this point? They went all in on the white supremacist Nazi smear campaign, so what are the optics of talking to the truckers now? If they talk to them now, they're going to be negotiating with Nazis. His progressive base will be furious, and we all know how they handle their anger. They'll burn his fucking house down.
Trudeau is dug in like a tick. He fucked up from day one handling this. I don't see an exit strategy for him, other than using force against the protestors. They can't starve them out, they can't cut off their fuel, they can't block their funds... He's fucked. There's no win here for him.
And that's why the US government is so fucking terrified. This movement is entirely peaceful and has enormous support internationally. They can't portray it as an insurrection. They'll be backed into the same corner as Trudeau. Dem governors are reading those tea leaves right now, distancing themselves from Biden's COVID bullshit, and trying to get ahead of it because they know Biden will do nothing but fuck it all the way up.
A large percentage of the Canadian protestors are Sikhs. And Prime Minister Zoolander called them "white supremacist".
They are also terrified because there are something like 40,000 independent truckers in Canada. There are nearly a half a million independent truckers in the US. If the US has a protest like Canada, it would have around nine times the pool of potential protestors from which to draw. Imagine 90,000 trucks descending on Washington DC. They would bring the entire eastern seaboard to its knees. And there wouldn't be anything Biden could do about it other than scream and call them racists.
Yeah, they are terrified and they should be.
There was a song about this back in the 70's.
"...A large percentage of the Canadian protestors are Sikhs. And Prime Minister Zoolander called them "white supremacist"..."
Larry Elder got that in the CA Newsom recall election.
And the sad thing is that what the truckers want isn't really that radical. Trudeau backed himself into a completely unnecessary fight.
No, it isn't. They just want an end to the vaccine mandates. And most of them are vaccinated anyway.
The vaccination rate of the truckers is 90%--15% higher than the country at large.
These are people protesting in the interests of their class, and that's what's pissing off the elites so much.
It just demostrates that it's about power. The progs have well and truly fucked themselves over the past two years. They didn't just take power and exercise it to pass their agenda. They got drunk on it and lost their ability to moderate themselves, and people see who they really are.
Political realignments always occur when the in view overreaches severely. There has been signs for a few years we may be entering a political realignment. The media has gone out of it's way to say this was a realignment to the left (even though the left has controlled the political narrative since at least 2000). But all the signs is that it will be to the right, and a populist right at that. There is a real possibility that enough states will vote to hold a constitutional convention to add two new amendments, dealing with term limits for Congress (federal judges may be included, but I'm not certain about that, the story I read stated federal officials and then spoke about congress) and a balanced budget amendment and limiting federal powers over the states. 17 of the 34 states needed have already voted for it, and the other 17 needed are either in the process of voting on it or it has been introduced and is on the docket. The impact of these two proposed amendments would be game changing. I wish they would also add into the proposed term limits amendment an amendment forcing Congress to increase the number of representatives to reflect population growth, which hasn't happened since 1920, when we had two less stated and a third of the population we have today. This would make gerrymandering more difficult and make far more swing districts, and may even get more third parties and independents elected. Also, I would like Congress to reform it's rules so independents can't caucus with a party. I believe it would actually give independents more of a voice if they didn't elect to caucus with a party. Not sure how committee assignments would work.
(even though the left has controlled the political narrative since at least 2000)
Shit, it's been longer than that--probably going back to the 1970s, if not earlier. But I get your meaning. In the short-term, they've really dominated the political narrative since about 1991.
Cronut, yeah I agree. Trudeau really fucked this up, and it is totally ego that did it. His choices are not good: lose face, or look like a totalitarian. That is a self-inflicted wound.
Trudeau lacks the emotional strength and maturity to step back, and re-assess. He is just like his father. For him, losing face in public is a fate worse than death, when it fact, it is a sign of emotional strength (the ability to change course when you know it is not the right course).
There is a great rumor that Trudeau's father is actually Castro. Trudeaus parents were swingers and Trudeau's father into watching his wife with other men. The couple had a private audience with Castro around the time Justin was conceived. I am not kidding. All of that is true. Whether Castro is the dad or not is another matter. But it is possible.
Trudeau may find himself facing a vote of no confidence if this continues, although his party still seems to be toeing the line. Maybe they are worried about their chances if an election was called.
That's probably their only way out of this, at this point.
He's already lost face, to the extent that he's a national embarrassment for Canadians. He hid in his house instead of deal with the protestors. What does that say about him?
He's completely disgraced.
CAN they even listen at this point?
Sure they can, they just don't want to.
It's already being felt, the big three automakers are shutting down production or severely curtailing production on both sides of the border. Expect more inflation in the auto industry. Damn I need a new truck for work but guess I'll keep sinking money into keeping mine running.

Two Democratic Senators say that the CIA has a database on Americans.
But the deep state is a myth I was told. BTW who is the head of the CIA? J Edgar Hoover? FDR and Truman also used spy agencies to monitor Americans and Hoover. FDR also had Hoover spy on political opponents, something Truman put a stop to on his first day, which pissed off Hoover.
Indeed, worst-case climate change scenarios are highly implausible, argues a new study out of the University of Colorado.
Of course. The worst case scenarios are propaganda, created specifically to scare people into accepting The Plan, which amusingly has no almost effect on climate change.
Why worry now? We only have 8 years left anyway.
Wasn't that 10 years ago?
I'm old enough to remember when that was 20 years ago, but that was okay because we all were going to die from acid rain and skin cancer due to the hole in the ozone layer. I also am old enough to remember pollution causing a new ice age.
"...The worst case scenarios are propaganda, created specifically to scare people into accepting The Plan, which amusingly has no almost effect on climate change..."
Herein lies the reason that The Plan is such a hard sell:
Ask anyone proposing that you turn off your A/C when and in what measurable amount things will 'improve' as a result.
You will get arm-waving in response.

The convoy protest, applauded by right wing media as a "freedom protest," is an economic and security issue now. The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada. Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks
I wonder if this Harvard genius has given even the slightest thought to what happens after her proposed spasm of violence.
Nah. I don't suppose she has.
Yeah, truckers, a large portion who own their own vehicles, don't exactly react well to people messing with their rigs.
I was thinking beyond that. If the government cracks down hard on the truckers, who is gonna deliver wine to Trader Joe's?
There is that. If forced to end the protests all truckers have to do is start a trucking boycott.
Why hasn't ENB done a story yet on how these trucker protests are hurting the lot lizards?
"Nonetheless, DHS remains concerned that these events could have significant public safety implications or potentially be exploited by ideologically motivated actors to potentially act or encourage others to act violently."
Of course, we ignore the fact that the "ideologically motivated actors" will have FBI badges.
Johns Hopkins University study finds lockdowns only reduced COVID deaths by 0.2%
https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/national/coronavirus/johns-hopkins-university-study-finds-lockdowns-only-reduced-covid-deaths-by-0-2
Which easily clears the bar they set, of saving even one life. As long as you don't count the health costs of the lockdowns.
NB: The 0.2% number is deaths/million. Full stop. As in a relative displacement, not a rate. Not 'deaths' or 'cases', let alone deaths or cases (per million) per day. So, not a 0.2% flattening of the curve, a <0.2% flattening of the relative rate of increase of the curve. Moreover, mechanistically, the lockdowns themselves and flattening the curve don't intrinsically and permanently immunize people from the disease (the whole point of the studies), so a 0.2% reduction doesn't mean those people didn't die. It just means they didn't die within the time window of the lockdown. The number is only meaningful in relation to the lockdown. That is, a 180-day lockdown slows the spread of the disease by 8 hours, a 720-day lockdown slows the spread of the disease by ~1.5 days. So, worldwide lockdown for two years, wouldn't necessarily save ~12K of the 5.79M people who've died of COVID, it would, theoretically, buy you ~1.5 more days to save (some) of them.

I would not be surprised at all if all of the craziness about hacking Dominion machines is deep state misinformation. Such claims accomplish two things. First, they provide an easily disproved claim to take attention away from the more legitimate claims of fraud in the election. Second, they encourage voters on the right to give up and stop voting. Why vote if you think all the elections are fixed?
I would love to hear an explanation for why Sidney Powell made all of those crazy claims last November. Powell is a practicing attorney with a license she could lose. She claimed to have all of this evidence that she of course didn't have. Why do that? She had to have known that eventually she would have to come up with the proof and it would blow up in her face. The answer I think is that someone paid her a lot of money to do it for the purpose of depressing Republican turnout in the Georgia senate runoffs. She made all of those claims and then right after the runoffs went full Emily Latella and disappeared.
So, Tulpa is signed in as βBriggs Cunninghamβ today.
The Dominion claims were absurd. Do you think they were legitimate? Do you think Powell really has the goods and just didn't release it?
That's not Tulpa.
Idiot.

'Meanwhile, a copycat protest has begun in France. "Dozens of trucks and vehicles left southern France on Wednesday and headed for Paris as part of a convoy opposing the country's vaccination pass program," notes The New York Times'
This should be interesting. However the Canadians, or Americans, do public strikes, the French will show us how its done.
From farmers shutting down Paris for weeks to nation-wide mostly peaceful protests, this is one thing they are good at. I lived in France for a year in the 80s, and for the first couple of months we had no mail delivery since the postal workers were on strike.
There are a lot of things to dislike about the French, but they have a very admirable dislike of government. A few years ago the yellow vest protests destroyed something like 70% of the speed cameras in the country. I so wish the US populace had that kind of attitude.
This is probably the fifth time I've heard "copycat protest" being used. Is this a new buzz word?

NBA trade deadline update: Enes Kanter Freedom got traded from the Boston Celtics to the Houston Rockets (whose owner made the NBA grovel to China after he made a pro-Hong Kong tweet). I guess if China won't watch Freedom or the Rockets, the NBA is happier if they are together now. Although Houston just waived him so he can sign anywhere now.
Kanter is the real deal. So much respect for that guy. Even more because now when we see him play, we get "FREEDOM" on the back of his jersey.
β’ Eleven states this week have moved to end mask mandates.
Notice that most of these states are run by left wing lockdown loving, vaccine and mask mandating Democrats who suddenly realized that many/most voters now OPPOSE mask mandates, vaccine mandates, mandatory covid testing and quarantines, and the 24/7 lies for the past 2 years by Fauci, Birx, NY Times, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, USA Today, Atlantic and left wing partisan owners/censors/cancellers of Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Tik Tok, etc.
It appears the decisions by left wing Democrat governors to suddenly end their mask mandates was due to a combination of:
- polling data showing vast majority of Republicans and Independents oppose mask mandates, as do half of Democrats,
- a 75% decline in new covid cases during the past month, and
- the critically important Canadian truckers protest that is driving a huge wedge between woke elite left wing Democrats and blue collar working Americans (many of whom are Teamsters or other union members).
Several hundred mile south of the Canadian border, western PA truckers say they strongly support the Canadian truckers, and are preparing to actively protest here in the US.
https://triblive.com/local/westmoreland/drivers-at-smithton-truck-stop-predict-canadian-blockades-soon-will-spread-to-u-s/
I'd love to see truckers shut down I-95 and all other major arteries into and around Washington DC. It will make Biden go apoplectic.
, Don't know if it was new polling data thatprompted these governors ing, or might the Canadian truckers Wonder what polls these governors based
Looks like many lockdown loving, vaccine and mask mandating woke elitist dictators throughout the world (aka Democrats and Liberals) are truly petrified that protests by truckers and other freedom loving people (like those in Canada) could spread to their countries, and end their dictatorial reigns.
https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/02/11/around-the-world-authorities-are-cracking-down-on-freedom-convoys-n1558379
I would love to see them shut down every major blue city in America. Truck blockades around NY, DC, Atlanta, Chicago, LA... Any big, blue city. Let them know how dependent they are on the "deplorables" they shit on every day.
Without truckers their water treatment plants wouldn't work for lack of chemicals, their gas stations would be empty, their grocery shelves would be bare, their power plants would quit generating. They'd literally be dying of thirst and hunger in a big dark concrete desert. At least until they start eating each other, anyway.
The Eloi have no idea how much they depend on the proletariat that they so desperately hate.
Science!
Bill, the blue state governors ending mask mandates are mostly in the north where the Omicron surge showed up first and where - as predicted - it is tapering off fast. There is no other variant on the horizon - knock on wood - and as in April 2021, when both Biden and the CDC recommended easing masks for the vaccinated except in close public quarters, it both makes common sense to ease off and, in contrast to the bullshit the GOP and MAGA fans have been selling, they do not actually get off on controlling the public.
You might want to adjust to reality and face facts.

That is because the next variant will be showing up late summer through fall, like the last spike, and maybe a new variant next winter and another spike. That is the path the virus has taken. Did you forget how Delta and Omicron happened?
Maybe soldier, and if they do their is some reason to believe they will be more Omicron like than Delta in their deadliness. But whatever it is, we'll have to deal with it then.
So, exactly like what the right, libertarians and the GOP said back in February of 2020,for the most part but you mocked us for. BTW, seen the latest research, lockdowns didn't help at all and did far more harm than any good. Also, the science on masks is tilting away from you as well. But keep saying what the left did was driven by science and that the left doesn't get off on being authoritarian. Remember it was the right that protested these measures. It was you leftist that pushed them. You can't gaslight America anymore, but keep trying.
Here's some science for you soldier:
In both blue and red states, new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are driven the unvaccinated. The rest of your "science" is irrelevant and this fact proves your team has been wrong since last summer when the GOP decided politicizing vaccines was good politics, not science. You were had and are still.
Omicron peaked here in Texas at least two weeks ago.
You are a fucking moron.
Desig, omicron showed up mostly in the North first and those states are ahead of the southern ones on that curve. Of course states like Florida and Texas reacted by putting their heads in the sand, so they have no restrictions to loosen.
Polling is bad. Elections are coming up. Biden's number are in the shitter and just getting worse. There's a MASSIVE protest going on in Canada. Nobody wants to be on that side of things. They have no choice.
However, they can't be allowed to just walk away from it. People need to be reminded every day of what they did.
"We should be concerned about climate change, but we shouldn't be paralyzed by apocalyptic dread and feelings of helplessness,"
What!?! The entire essence of progressive activism is based on the existential risks of multiple political fad issues, and their basic tactic is to instill panic until enough lemmings demand ACTION.

Arsonist Who Murdered Father of 5 Got Reduced Sentence. You're Not Going to Believe Why
https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/02/10/arsonist-who-murdered-father-of-5-got-reduced-sentence-youre-not-going-to-believe-why-n1558146
An arsonist who murdered a father of five during the George Floyd riots was given a reduced sentence after the federal prosecutor in Minnesota asked the judge for leniency because of the arsonistβs βlegitimate frustration with the criminal justice system,β according to the Washington Free Beacon.
For some Republican members of Congress, the 12-year sentence suggested by prosecutors, when guidelines called for 20 years, proved too much to accept.
The arsonist, 26-year-old Montez Terriel Lee, tried to claim he didnβt intend to hurt anyone. But it was the prosecutorβs reasoning that strikes any reasonable person as ludicrous.
βMr. Lee was terribly misguided, and his actions had tragic, unthinkable consequences. But he appears to have believed that he was, in Dr. Kingβs eloquent words, engaging in βthe language of the unheard,'β the memo reads.

The Biden administration is also urging Canadian leaders to get tougher with protesting truckers
The president of the working man.
The "working man" in the US is getting shafted with shift closings due to the few "truckers" parking in the highway.
I bet the color of the sky on your planet is pretty
I bet you were just as upset when they weren't allowed to work by state diktat.
Which is entirely different from the government closing stuff by putting healthy people in quarantine.
And most of the workers support these protesters, because they're tired of elite idiots disparaging them and not listening to them.
No, they don't:
"OTTAWA - Almost two-thirds of Canadians oppose the Ottawa protest against COVID-19 measures, with more than four in 10 saying they strongly consider the demonstration a selfish display, a new poll suggests.
But almost 30 per cent of Canadians surveyed by Leger disagreed with that characterization of the demonstration against COVID-19 measures that has seen hundreds of large trucks create gridlock and incessant noise in the national capital.
In addition, 44 per cent of those polled said they sympathized with the frustrations being voiced by the protesters.
https://www.cp24.com/news/almost-2-3rds-of-canadians-oppose-trucker-convoy-protest-poll-suggests-1.5772347
And I'm sure that Leger, a paid survey site, is representative of all demographics.
American workers asshole. And none of those polls were of workers exclusively. And if 44% are sympathetic, that doesn't bode well for action to try and end them. So, keep whistling past the grave.
soldier, hate to break it to you, but "working Americans" includes most blacks and Hispanics, not just the white people in Montana.
Now, where's the link for your lame assertion?
You seem to be in denial about how unpopular your side has become.
This is also a web based survey, which are never considered accurate because they are never representative and always are self selectively biased. It has no margin of error could be assigned because it was impossible to model it. All your citation shows is that 1500 people decided to answer a question online. It shows no demographics and no geographic data. It is worse than useless.
In Joe's defense, he's an idiot.
So, a minority protesting to have their rights respected is bad now?
Civil rights movements don't usually start out with full majority support. It takes time to win people over sometimes.
This is not about anti-vax or some narrow concerns of some truckers. This is about all people having their legally guaranteed rights respected by the governments supposedly bound by those laws.
Maybe Zeb, but at least you're not in "denial" like soldier who imagines his buddies represent majority American opinion. If they did, Trump wouldn't have lost both votes.
The
Committee for StateDepartment of Homeland Security had better be careful about who they decide to bully into submission next. That asshole in Waukesha killed 6 and injured 60 with a Ford Escape. Holy crap that was funny.

OMG! That is fucking hilarious, reading the comments scrolling while Herzzoner is busy telling the plebes to just comply.
Her trying to pretend she didn't see all the negative comments was priceless.
And her trying to say she sees a lot of friends and pointing out the happy New Year and the "cute tiger emoji" or answering the stupid question about what she likes about Boston winters... LOL, you can't make this shit up. They were savaging her and you could see it in her eyes.
The clip below is a bunch of elementary school kids erupting into spontaneous celebration when told the mask mandate is ending. Awesome.
I just watched it five times. Fantastic.
Yeah, that made me smile.
"It's too late to do anything about climate change." "Runaway warming has begun; climate change is now unstoppable."
If these are true, and nothing we do will do any good, then why do anything? People who push the apocalyptic message are undercutting any motivation for action. They don't seem very smart, either way.
Homeland Security is mobilizing agents for the Super Bowl. With any luck they can get seats along the 50-yard line.
I think that discussion and the Canadian truck protests needs a bit more nuance. While I agree with their policy position, and absolutely hate how they are getting smeared, it is not proper to blockade streets. It isn't proper when BLM does it, it isn't proper when truckers do it, it isn't proper when climate change activists do it. Drive around the capital honking? Yes. Cutting off trade by parking on bridges? No.
I'm a bit torn on that. I think we might be to the point where civil society is so broken that people need to break the normal rules to pull things back towards sanity. As long as they remain as peaceful and positive as they have been, I'm going to support them I think.
There is the practical side to protests. Sometimes it's OK to support something just because they are correct in their goals. I think this has a chance of doing some good. BLM wasn't helping anything and most of their stated goals would only make things worse.

Civil disobedience is a thing.
βThe whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable.
Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows.
To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable... thatβs the point.ββAlexandria Ocasio-Cortez
But she was okay with billions of dollars of property damage? You aren't suggesting she's a hypocrite are you?
It's not really possible for a leftist to be a hypocrite, since they make no pretense that the same rules apply to everyone.
Yes, we've experienced a libertarian moment: we finally got to the libertarian position on lockdowns, mask usage and vaccinations that don't stop the virus.
Now the science says lockdowns should never be used, so that's off the table for politicians
Individuals and business owners are setting their own safety standards and have choices.
The experimental vaccines aren't being required, and people are making their own decisions about what's best for them.
The forced remote learning exposed government schooling with CRT and protections for rapists wearing dresses.
We've got the truckers peacefully partying, I mean protesting for freedom, and you can't beat the truckers if you want food on in the stores. There's a bunch of them and they can easily cause a big traffic jam.
With you on everything but the βrapists wearing dressesβ. What is that referring to?
Either referring to the multitude of teacher/student sex scandals, or something about trans people would be my guess.

Why must they censor everyone and crush all resistance to the pandemic narrative? Here is:
Why is it so vital and necessary for the combined monolithic apparatus of government, corporations, and NGOs, to brute force censor everyone while decimating the careers and reputations of the dissenters? Here is why:
The reason the First Amendment is prime directive order 1, is because it is the most important freedom we have for the same reason it is the first target an adversary subverts, disrupts, and destroys during a crime, a war, or a takeoverβpreventing a target from assembling, communicating, and organizing a response to an assult grants an enormous advantage to the aggressors.
This is and has been occurring all across the globe since the minute this COVID-19 fraud was propagated to every corner of the earth.
The Second Amendment is second because it is the remedy for anyone trying to subvert the First.
The fog of this war is purposefully thickβa massive labyrinth filled with wrong turns, dead ends, and long, interesting paths to nowhereβrelentless discombobulation are important tentpoles of demoralization and destabilization.

The fact that the government is afraid of the people organizing is a good thing. We outnumber those caitiff bureaucratic bastards by hundreds of millions. And, we are armed.
It probably would. These people have no idea how the physical world works. They really do live in a giant fart bubble of ignorance.

105 psi > 32 psi. Who knew?
I saw a video once of a dude slashing a dump truck tire, the result was his arm getting blown clean off.
That's a better outcome because then the idiot has to spend the rest of their life with 1 arm and the understanding that they're objectively one of the dumbest humans to ever live.
Sofa Samurai....LOL. Never heard that one before.
That's what Antifa is for.
Even the hyper-educated can catch Dunning-Kruger.
And would she use a red gas can for diesel fuel, which uses a yellow can? Isn't that a Federal offense, to put fuel in unauthorized containers?
Man, she must be huffing even before she gets started. π
I'm waiting for Rev. Artie to chime in on all this. Who is "the betters" of whom?
Once we slash the tires and empty the fuel tanks, how do we remove the trucks? Easy, put on a Harvard Hogwarts robe, wave your wand, and cast the ol' "Truckus Removem" spell
That's too damn funny! π
She's probably the same idiot who posted on TikTok that we don't need farmers anymore because we can go to the store and buy food and that we don't need truckers anymore because you can have Amazon deliver everything you need. These people really exist. And they defended their statements.
Heβs right about Windsor titty bars, or was at least 20 years ago.
