Brickbat: How Shocking

An Oklahoma jury has found former Wilson police officers Brandon Dingman and Joshua Taylor guilty of second-degree murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Jared Lakey died after the two shocked him a total of 53 times with their Tasers. The two said Lakey, who was suspected of disorderly conduct, refused to comply with their commands. Bodycam footage showed that Lakey did not act aggressively towards the two.

Guilty as charged! Don’t expect the appeals court to do a volt face!
Had the officers not been so amped up they may have found some common ground with the guy and wouldn't be in their current situation.
Simply shocking.

More support for my theory that police officers are never held accountable for crimes, but once you're identified as a former police officer you know you're in trouble.

I need to know the race of the alleged victim so I can be appropriately outraged.
Skin color is the most important thing.
Not so. We have seen many Uncle Tom race traitors. What matters is your party affiliation, which determines w whether you can self-identify as the right race at the right time.
It’s so hard to keep up.
53 times in 9 minutes... That's about a tazering every 10 seconds. Is a person even capable of following commands within 10 seconds of having electricity pumped through them?
Were they chanting the magical words “stop resisting, stop resisting!” the whole time?
Was there an intended pun in there?
Don’t know if he has the capacity for that.
If so, he should be grounded.

#NoPuns
Are we just supposed to ignore the potential to generate a pile of them?
If only we had some device to stor the charged puns... Some sort of capuncitor
Yeah, the puns here are shocking. Still, the horror of how they tortured that man (running naked, confused, non-combative) instead of helping him shows just how mentally unhealthy the police involved are.
Since we have to deal with the mentally unhealthy, I pray it's more of Jared's type than the sadism of government authorities who act with immunity (usually). And if this is beyond qualified immunity, why aren't a lot more crimes by the police?
I know the police are supposed to maintain a level of order necessary for liberty, but they really seem like more of a fifth coulomb to me.
Shock troops, eh?
The puns are indeed re-volting . Hopefully #NoPuns will send shockwaves throughout the thread so they cease making the circuit.
Ohm, maybe.
Join the resistance!
He was a resistor. The officers charged him to the extent of their capacitance.
The problem may have been impedance rather than resistance.
They followed their training: compliance or violence. At least their better halves might have a decade or so to heal any non-compliant bruises or broken bones.
Let's NOT go Brandon. This specific case only.
How many Tasers did they have? Everyone I've seen is good for one shot out of the cartridge and about 8 shocks.
Iirc, some have two shots. Dunno how many charges.
Think OC spray is better though it potentially exposes the officer to it as well. But it doesn’t rely on two prongs penetrating clothing and is less likely to be confused with the firearm (this has happened where the officer went to tase and used the firearm instead).
Taylor kept screaming at his partner Dinger to stop, but Brandon thought he was yelling something else.
Lakey forgot the safe word.
Brandon thought he was yelling something else.
The Sheriff is near?
Shirley it was a case of excited delirium?
