Biden Administration, School Board Association Colluded To Direct FBI Scrutiny at Parents Who Were Critical of School Boards
The National School Boards Association considers aggrieved parents essentially "domestic terrorists," and the FBI agreed to crack down on them.

The National School Boards Association (NSBA) began treating aggrieved parents' and citizens' criticisms of the actions of its member boards as "domestic terrorism," demanding a federal response. The federal government agreed that made a lot of sense.
As it turns out, the NSBA was consulting with administration figures beforehand, as Fox News has reported:
Viola Garcia, the NSBA president whom the Department of Education later named to a federal board, sent a memo to NSBA members on Oct. 11 (but dated Oct. 12), providing a timeline of the NSBA's interaction with the White House ahead of the letter to Biden, which the NSBA sent on Sept. 29.
Five days later, on Oct. 4, the DOJ issued a memo directing law enforcement to investigate threats to school boards. On Oct. 22, the NSBA issued an apology for the letter.
The NSBA complained in that letter that what it called "acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased [and] the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes." It seems it had the Biden administration on board before asking the administration to act on its fears of a responsive citizenry.
In a small sign of rhetorical sense, if not a sensible use of federal criminal investigatory powers, the attorney general's October 4 directive to sic the full force of the FBI on upset parents of public school children did not explicitly use the inflammatory phrase "domestic terrorism." It did, though, agree that the FBI must now "convene meetings with federal, state, local, Tribal, and territorial leaders in each federal judicial district…These meetings will facilitate the discussion of strategies for addressing threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff, and will open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment, and response."
Despite the NSBA's apparent regret for the letter (after the public backlash), Attorney General Merrick Garland, who sent the order to the FBI to get tough on school board meeting attendees, told Congress he had no second thoughts and that his actions did not rely on the NSBA's letter.
It's possible the attorney general's hand knew not what the White House's hand was planning, but Fox News reports that "Another email exclusively sent to Fox News revealed that NSBA had discussed the issues with the White House 'for weeks' before sending the letter. Garcia and Chip Slaven, an NSBA executive, altered the text of the letter to satisfy the curiosity of White House staff."
As Reason's Matt Welch has previously reported, the school board and government panic, aided by media outlets resolutely on their sides, is mostly based on absurdly "comparing raucous school board meetings to the January 6 Capitol Hill riots, attributing the increase in parental outrage to racism and/or manipulation by cynical puppet masters, conducting laughably one-sided fact-checks, using the phrase 'Republicans seize' unironically, and taking at face value education-establishment claims that all curricular and organizational changes made in the name of racial equity are merely about being more accurate in the teaching of history."
The panic, which we now know arose from NSBA and administration collaboration, further misrepresents angry responses from meeting attendees to school policies on matters such as COVID-19 mitigation measures and how race is dealt with in public education as violence and threats, when they are almost always nothing of the sort. Such public aiming of FBI attention at what is overwhelmingly just parents exercising their rights within the public school system, even if loudly, seems more meant to intimidate than to actually quash real crimes.
The Biden administration's obsession with treating heated policy disputes, especially from the perceived right, as worthy of federal investigation as potential "domestic terror" is dumb and dangerous to American liberty. It will rightly create more of exactly the sort of heated citizen pushback that the administration is trying to suppress.
It's good that various state-level school board associations are disengaging from the NSBA for its calling in the FBI's dogs on aggrieved parents. As Fox News reports, "Ohio's, Wisconsin's, and the school boards of nine other states have reportedly terminated their relationships with NSBA" since the controversy began.

As the Nazis worked to consolidate their power and build a cohesive “national community,” suppression of dissent played a key role. In 1933, the Nazis issued a decree that required Germans to turn in anyone who spoke against the party, its leaders, or the government (see reading, Outlawing the Opposition in Chapter 5). That decree, “For the Defense against Malicious Attacks against the Government,” stated:
Whoever purposely makes or circulates a statement of a factual nature which is untrue or grossly exaggerated or which may seriously harm the welfare of the Reich or of a state, or the reputation of the National government or of a state government or of parties or organizations supporting these governments, is to be punished, provided that no more severe punishment is decreed in other regulations, with imprisonment of up to two years and, if he makes or spreads the statement publicly, with imprisonment of not less than three months.
If serious damage to the Reich or a state has resulted from this deed, penal servitude may be imposed.
Whoever commits an act through negligence will be punished with imprisonment of up to three months, or by a fine.
To enforce the decree, the Nazis set up special courts to try people who were accused of “malicious attacks.” In December 1934, the government replaced the decree with the “Law against Malicious Attacks on State and Party,” adding a clause that criminalized “malicious, rabble-rousing remarks or those indicating a base mentality” against the Nazi Party or high-ranking government or party officials.
Alfons Heck, then a member of the Hitler Youth, recalled the effects of the law. In 1938, he was living with his grandparents when his father came to visit.
In retrospect, I think it was the last time my father railed against the regime in front of me. . . . He wasn’t much of a drinker, but when he had a few too many, he had a tendency to shout down everyone else, not a small feat among the men of my family. “You mark my words, Mother,” he yelled, “that goddamned Austrian housepainter is going to kill us all before he’s through conquering the world.” And then his baleful eye fell on me. “They are going to bury you in this goddamned monkey suit [his Hitler Youth uniform], my boy,” he chuckled, but that was too much for my grandmother.
“Why don’t you leave him alone, Du dummer Narr [you stupid fool],” she said sharply, “and watch your mouth; you want to end up in the KZ [the German abbreviation for concentration camp]?”
He laughed bitterly and added: “So, it has come that far already, your own son turning you in?” My grandmother told me to leave the kitchen, but the last thing I heard was my father’s sarcastic voice. “Are you people all blind? This thing with the Jews is just the beginning."
In thinking about the incident, Heck wrote:
My grandmother had every reason to warn him about talking loosely, for his classification as “politically unreliable” surely would have sent him to a KZ had anyone reported his remarks, even within the family. But there were also two of our farmhands at the table, and Hans, the younger of the two, had recently announced his decision to apply for party membership. He had ambitions to attend an agricultural school and knew full well [that] party membership would help him get in. Perhaps luckily for my father, Hans was getting pretty drunk himself, although I doubt he would have reported my father had he been stone sober. Despite the fact that I later attained a high rank in the Hitler Youth, which required me to be especially vigilant, I never considered my father to be dangerous to our new order. I merely thought him a fool who had long since been left behind.

Almost like all three institutions are corrupt totalitarians
Institutions?
Are we sure these things even exist? I'm going to need to see membership cards and meeting minutes before I'm sure any one of them is real.
No, you see, the Biden administration merely asked if local law enforcement needed some help in looking into threats made to schoolboard officials.
You don't get how this works. Joe Biden says something racist... but it's not the racist thing that gets scrutinized by the media, it's that "Conservative Twitter explodes in response!"

In all seriousness, siccing the FBI on parents for opposing mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and a progressive curriculum is in perfect harmony with progressive ideology. Being progressive is all about using the coercive power of government to force people to make sacrifices for what progressives see as the common good, and using the FBI to intimidate parents into not opposing mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and CRT is perfectly consistent with that. This really is what people were voting for when they voted for Biden.
P.S. It's the same thing with climate change and a hundred other topics.
Progressives truly are the worst Americans.
America's most horrible people!
It drives them crazy when you say that. They'll start following you around and trolling you if you say it often enough.
They’re not Americans. Progressivism is mutually exclusive with being an American, or a human.
This really is what people were voting for when they voted for Biden.
If they looked at his website.
If they were just listening to the news, they thought they were voting for boring, moderate competence.
But even Chris freaking Cillizza at CNN was forced to admit that "There's absolutely no question that since coming into office, Biden has pursued a radical agenda."
Yeah, they weren't going to hear about Biden's radical agenda from the evening news.
And Biden beat Sanders and Warren for the nominate because he was considered moderate.
And Biden beat Sanders and Warren for the nominate because he was considered moderate.
Yup. Personally I think this is going to backfire bigly, Joe being one of those pols who's constantly trying to play both sides and failing.
The Progressives have hated him from the get-go, and none of his pandering to them seems to have worked, while Independents are starting to hate him now, too, as the 'return to normalcy' and 'restoration of competence' narratives fall completely apart at every turn.
I'm even seeing some 'holy shit' articles now pointing out that the backup plan for 2024 is Kamala Harris, whose numbers are even worse than Biden's.
Yeah, and the only credible moderate Democrats with a national profile at this point are Manchin and Sinema. If a moderate Democrat doesn't orient themselves against Biden--who was supposed to be a moderate--why would the voters trust them to be moderate next time?
When the next Democrat comes up to bat, they better have a good story about why they're moderate. Otherwise, swing voters won't buy it.
The problem is, that moderate will almost certainly lose and the only lesson the progressive wackos will take away is "see, they weren't wacky enough!" and they will triple down on their nonsense
The real solution is to get rid of the prog movement when control is retaken. The country can ot survive the continued existence of the democrat party, nor the freedom of its leaders.
they better have a good story about why they're moderate
And a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/581248-kamala-harris-a-2024-problem-for-biden-and-the-democrats">this article raises the salient point that if some Democrat wants to primary Harris in 2024, they're going to have to explain why they're against the historic first woman-of-color candidate/incumbent (given the very real possibility that Joe won't make it to 2024).
And Joe already reversed his "I'm only going to be a one-term, transitional president" to "My plan is to run for reelection, that’s my expectation," when his poll numbers are so bad he may actually have to pull a Lyndon Johnson (which is what the linked article is about - i.e. trying to figure out at what point in time Biden's acknowledgment that he's an utter failure and that he won't run again will be least damaging).
If he had at least stuck to "I'll be a one-term president" they could have had a chance to pull it off smoothly, but as Obama supposedly said, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up."
Yea, voting will totes get us out of this...
Yup. Personally I think this is going to backfire bigly, Joe being one of those pols who's constantly trying to play both sides and failing.
And, IMO, worse than Bush I/II, Cheney, Haliburton, etc. People are seeing that Harris, Biden, Clinton, Clinton, and even Obama are all tied together and, rather than being tied together through vague shares, contracts through vague Saudi Princes or Russian Oligarchs, or anti-Muslim Jihad, they're tied together through the FBI and the DOJ.
I remember how much the progs here called you a liar for saying he was on board with the Green New Deal. Even though he said he was on his site and he said nothing to ever remotely contradict that.
Yeah, but remember: "It's all Trump's fault. Trump turned Biden into a radical. Biden had no choice!"
But even Chris freaking Cillizza at CNN was forced to admit that "There's absolutely no question that since coming into office, Biden has pursued a radical agenda."
Well, whomever has their hand shoved up his ass certainly is. I doubt he remembers what flavor of ice cream he ate in the morning.

Idk, seems like Reason is pushing more of that wingnut.com agiprop buttplug warned us about.
soccer milf literally worse than Osama.
So when does reason get accused of being red pulled by jefd?
It does seem like the "insurrectionist" opposition to school boards media narrative dovetailed nicely with the narrative about January 6.
To whatever extent journalists played into the narrative about January 6, they also contributed to this. That crisis was out there, and the Biden administration didn't want it to go to waste.
They tried to make the election in Virginia about how insurrectionist parents have no business telling their school boards what to teach, etc.--and they tried to smear them as the same kinds insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol.
That narrative failed, and if this story gains currency, let's hope it puts the last nail in that coffin. And every journalists that contributed to the myths about the Capitol riot really should be ashamed of themselves. Shit like that made this FBI atrocity possible.
Every colluding journalist should have their hands smashed in a car door.

"2) The letter from the NSBA to Joe Biden was written at the behest of Joe Biden's White House staff.
A school choice organization obtained the emails of the interim CEO of the NSBA and its president discussing their collaboration with Joe Biden's White House staff in crafting the September 29 letter through a Freedom of Information Act request. Here are two excepts from their emails:
Exhibit A:
"In talks over the last several weeks with White House staff, they requested additional information on some of the specific threats, so the letter also details many of the incidents that have been occurring."
----Chip Slaven, NSBA Interim CEO, September 29, 2021
Exhibit B:
"NSBA has been engaged with the White House and the Department of Education on these and other issues related to the pandemic for several weeks now"
----Viola Garcia, NSBA President, October 2, 2021
You can read the emails yourself here:

That wasn't the first time I linked to the actual emails either.
Looks like I screwed up on the emails link. But that wasn't the first time I'd posted it!
Here's the correct link:
https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Email-Correspondence_NSBA-Letter-to-President-Biden_Redacted.pdf
"The NSBA writing that September 29 letter was the Biden White House writing a letter to itself."
This is some pretty shady shit.
It's false flag stuff to justify using the FBI to intimidate parents into silence.
"A false flag operation is an act committed with the intent of disguising the actual source of responsibility and pinning blame on another party."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_flag
It isn't just that they were smearing average American parents for opposing their elected representatives on the school board either. It's also that they were lies in that letter! The Virginia incident, cited in the September 29 letter has been debunked. I haven't seen anything like this since just before the Iraq War, when were being fed horseshit about yellowcake in Niger and mobile WMD labs--that never existed. The Biden administration was just making shit up--using it to sic the FBI on parents who oppose progressive polices at their local schools--and hiding their responsibility for the contents of the letter.
Doherty had to make certain it was safe to post as a professional.
Doherty deserves credit for posting it at all.
He really does!
This story should have been the lead on Fox News for two weeks. I haven't seen anyone covering the story in the mainstream news--not even on the conservative side.
And, just for the record, this information was uncovered by way of a Freedom of Information Act request. An organization might falsely claim to have filed one, but that could be quickly discovered. I just think that in the aftermath of the elections in Virginia and New Jersey, it was drowned out. If people are starting to wake up to it, that's a good thing.
. . . because the White House collaborating with itself to write a letter to itself asking the President to direct the AG to sic the FBI on parents--under false pretenses--is an incredibly despicable act.
Especially after the Board of Directors for the NSBA disavowed for the letter--said it was written and sent without their approval--and apologized for the letter. By last count, four states dropped out of the NSBA because of that letter to Biden from Biden--and that's a scandal by itself.
Daily wire and red state have both covered it. National review had one slight mention.
The story seems to be breaking now.
It may just be that there's a delay on really big stories sometimes. It took weeks for the Wuhan origin story to go from online news sources to the mainstream news, too. Maybe this story is about to break like that one did.
Steve Bannon says that the media can really only focus on one story at a time, and if they're focusing on the Virginia election, the Rittenhouse trial, or Musk unloading Tesla shares, it's hard for them to focus on anything else.
I saw a zombie movie once, where the bad guys could defend themselves from the zombies by shooting fireworks into the sky. The zombies would all stop and stare. In this movie, the zombies were like the good guys. What was done to them was done to them by the government. One zombie goes around trying to stop the others zombies from staring at the fireworks while they're being victimized.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1LuhWcDRiA
The fireworks are meant to distract us--while they pass the most socialist bill in 55 years and sic the FBI's counter-terrorism unit on soccer moms like they're a racist militia.
The fireworks are meant to distract us--while they pass the most socialist bill in 55 years and sic the FBI's counter-terrorism unit on soccer moms like they're a racist militia.
This sounds less 'false flag' and more 'Pincer Maneuver'. It's not like people shouldn't be paying attention to the Administration siccing the FBI/DOJ on law-abiding private citizens for no reason at all.
Yes I agree they are distracting us. Where we differ, Ken, is that while you continue to see Progs vs Us, I see Elites vs Us. It doesn't matter much right now, but it will soon.
I think the line between progressives and elitists is practically invisible. I should say, there are elitists on the right. It is possible to be an elitist without being a progressive. However, all progressives are inherently elitist. It's hard to want to force people to do things against their will for the common good, on the one hand, and not believe your own will is fundamentally superior to the will of others.
"Steve Bannon says that the media can really only focus on one story at a time,"
Yes. Lies are difficult to keep strait.
It takes all their attention.
It is truly amazing what doesn't get reported.
He sometimes goes 3-4 with a few batted in.
Ken, did you see the FBI leaked contents of the data raided from Project Veritas? Even after a judge ordered then to stop collecting and isolate what has been retrieved?
They're completely unaccountable, and we can start to address that when the Republicans get control of the House.
They can't hold hearings on this stuff.
All the Republicans will do when they get in is investigate Democrats the same way. It's batter than nothing, but it's not how things should work,
They'll put a special counsel on it, and the Biden administration doesn't want that.
And when the special counsel wraps up a few years later, people have forgotten all about the scandal, nothing can be done to provide relief, and the result will be a big yawn.
And both Republicans and Democrats like it that way.
^^ This
I agree that getting the GOP in place right now is a way to stop some real bad stuff from happening. But that's like saying "Get the tourniquet in place to keep from bleeding out". It isn't a long term strategy.
The government is the One Ring. Everyone knows how important it is to not let the Progs get it (because they are commies who might as well be Sauron). But there are many who are too weak to wield it, and that includes many Cons.
I saw Trump get impeached over nothing.
Durham going after the FBI isn't nothing.
Don't tell me special counsels are nothing. They put people in jail. I've seen 'em do it.
And they make White Houses go into lockdown mode, too.
"Durham going after the FBI isn't nothing."
We'll see about that.
The more likely outcome is that some lesser demons take the fall for the Elite Demons.
Putting people in jail isn't the only consequence of revelations that come to light from special counsel investigations.
Politicians like Hillary Clinton and Al Gore being denied power because of scandal is probably more important than whether they go to jail.
"There is no controlling legal authority that says this was in violation of law."
-- Al Gore, seven times (in one form or another), White House news conference, March 3
"Controlling legal authority." Whatever other legacies Al Gore leaves behind between now and retirement, he forever bequeaths this newest weasel word to the lexicon of American political corruption.
----Washington Post, March 7, 1997
https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/campfin/stories/op030797.htm
I like seeing the bad guy get his comeuppance at the end of the movie as much as the next person, but that isn't the only point of a special counsel.
But they weren't denied power because of any special counsel investigations. Gore is a fat stupid slob, and Clinton is a vain, arrogant psychopath, and that's why people didn't vote for them. And despite all that, they still almost became president.
Huh, I saw him impeached over using the powers of his office to try to extort a foreign leader into helping his re-election campaign, and then again for inciting an attempt to overturn the results of an election he lost.
Tin pot dictator stuff.
Yes, that's what you saw. That's because you are an ignorant propaganda victim.
Yet none of that happened. But I understand. That’s what you’ve been commanded to think.
Trump was prosecuted by special counsel as part of a political witch hunt, and both Democrats and many Republicans supported that; the charges were ultimately so ludicrous that the Senate could still stop them, barely.
Durham's investigation got dragged out long enough that it doesn't matter anymore, and Congress, the Biden administration, and their corporate cronies are going to make any negative findings go away.
I'm sure Garland will see that as top priority and it will come out as timely as the Kenbedy assassination information.
And it will put the issue in the news.
And let's get some details!
Precisely who--in the Biden White House--was helping them write this letter?
Was it the Attorney General? Was it done at Biden's instructions or with his knowledge? Was it Kamala?
We need to know ahead of 2024.
"we can start to address that when the Republicans get control of the House."
Hearing will be held, soundbytes will be exchanged.
Investigations will be started and people at or near retirement will retire with full pensions.
Nothing will come of this when literal heads should roll.
Go tell that to Jim McDougal.
Oh wait, you can't. He died in prison.
https://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/03/08/mcdougal/index.html
Anyway, the point isn't just to throw people in jail. It's to interfere with the president's ability to perpetrate evil. It becomes a stain on the whole administration, and it keeps their bad behavior in the news.
Kenneth Starr and the rest probably cost Al Gore the presidency.
https://www.salon.com/2001/01/20/clinton_79/
Did mcDougall die in prison before or after Hillary orchestrated a Russian Collusion hoax that effectively neutered an outsiders Presidency?
Tell me again about all that winning?
And how did throwing McDougal in jail accomplish that? Bill became president and Hillary became senator, secretary of state, colluded with foreign governments, and nearly won the presidency.
It looks to me like evil largely triumphed.
If anything, McDougal was a scapegoat that allowed the Clintons to get away with this crap.
Keep that faith in the system, Ken.

In related news, a school board president in Scottsdale Arizona was apparently keeping a dossier of information about everyone who opposed their policies--in a huge trove of data about them including information about their divorces, their bankruptcies, etc.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The Scottsdale Unified School District’s administration is scrambling to do damage control after a group of mothers discovered Governing Board President Jann-Michael Greenburg had access to a Google drive full of information, documents, and photos of 47 people including children.
The damage control appears to be too little, too late for mother of six, Amy Carney, and many other parents in the district, who are calling for Greenburg’s resignation.
“I am calling for the immediate resignation of our board president Jann-Michael Greenburg. We cannot allow anyone in a leadership position to secretly compile personal documents and information on moms and dads who have dared speak out publicly or on social media about their grievances with the district,’ said Carney, who is running for a seat on the Scottsdale Governing Board in November of 2022.
https://arizonadailyindependent.com/2021/11/10/scottsdale-unified-scrambles-to-assure-parents-after-secret-dossier-discovered-on-school-board-members-computer/
Are these school board people out of their fucking minds?!
The idiot used a public Google drive.
We're talking about public school officials here.
What we're talking about is a 27-year-old shitlib who shouldn't be running a lemonade stand, much less one of the wealthiest school districts in Arizona.
Progs should be rendered unemployable outside of entry level menial jobs.
Are these school board people out of their fucking minds?!
Are they? Because so far the only people to suffer negative consequences from these totalitarian actions are those that speak out against them.
Go tell that to Terry McAuliffe.
There's another election in less than a year.
Terry is being lined up for a White House gig.
No, it's not a prize, but it sure isn't punishment either.
At least Cuomo is probably done.
"Go tell that to Terry McAuliffe.."
Wait, what the fuck are you talking about? McAuliffe hasn't been NEAR the reins of power in 4 years, Ken. He isn't suffering shit for his totalitarian actions.
Yes, he is paying for Proggy Kulture Warz Bullshit, and I'm glad. But the notion that he is some example of the Deep State getting its comeuppance is ludicrous. No, not ludicrous...LaLa Land Fantasy insanity.
There are FBI, Congressional, State Dept, and other Elites walking around smug and happy today. And the fact that McAuliffe lost is a bad pull on the Slot Machine to them. It means nothing. And shocker, many of those Elites aren't Dem.
"Because so far the only people to suffer negative consequences from these totalitarian actions are those that speak out against them."
The fact is that his association with Biden and the war against parents was an important negative consequence of Biden's actions--for McAuliffe. If Biden is trying to rescue his own reputation by giving McAuliffe a job, that just reenforces the point that associating yourself with Biden is probably the end of your political career, And the fact is that negative consequences in the court of public opinion are real consequences--even if they aren't about someone getting their comeuppance by spending time in jail.
The Midterms of 2022 will be a referendum on Joe Biden. A historic median of 26 Democrats are expected to lose their seats in the House--far more of them may lose their seats, depending on the extent to which those House Democrats manage to separate themselves from Biden (and things like his actions towards parents with the FBI for instance). Are you denying that everyone isn't talking about Virginia showing Republicans how to beat everyone to the right of AOC--or that the central issue in that campaign wasn't the treatment of parents at school boards? Are you denying that if the Republicans were in charge of the House, they could sic a special counsel on this issue--and keep it in the news for the Midterms and maybe beyond?
Hillary Clinton probably lost the presidency because of her association with numerous scandals--the most proximate attribution being to her e-mail server. Because she was never thrown in prison doesn't mean she didn't suffer negative consequences from all the investigations and scandals.
There isn't a sane president that wants a special counsel investigating his or her administration--regardless of whether no one goes to jail--and if the suggestion is that special counsels are useless because your favorite villain never ends up in jail, that's almost as ridiculous as the idea that there's no point in voting against the progressives because of fortification.
There;s this thing called the perfect solution fallacy, and one aspect of it is that just because some aspects of the problem would still persist after a particular course of action, doesn't mean it isn't a good option--and may be the best, highly effective option. Because Hillary Clinton and Al Gore never went to prison, doesn't mean they didn't pay a heavy price for their actions, and the ability to hold public hearings and get a special counsel on the case is an effective way to make them pay.
The reason the White House doesn't want social media letting people talk about Hunter Biden is because they're smart. Emperor Xi doesn't let his people talk about these things on social media, too, because he wisely fears the negative consequences in the court of public opinion. And I'm supposed to pretend that the media exposure that comes with special counsels is irrelevant--unless someone goes to jail, why?
Ken, I completely get where you're coming from here. I honestly do.
But I also understand where the others are.
Look at, for an example, Andrew McCabe. He did wrong. He was found to have done wrong. And he did not get a damned thing done to him. We even paid his legal bills.
Kevin Clinesmith doctored evidence in a warrant application that allowed spying on Trump (which, we should never forget, the media said was a stupid conspiracy theory). He got nothing.
People who do objectively bad things do not seem to suffer for doing objectively bad things. And they keep finding NEW ways to do objectively bad things so it is nigh impossible to rectify the issue.
At this point, the FBI has far more issues than benefits. I do not want to see it reformed.
I want to see it gone.
I want to see the bad guys do jail time as much as anybody, but the idea that it doesn't matter if the Republicans in the House can oversee the president's behavior--bring public attention to their misbehavior and have special counsels appointed to investigate--because the bad guys don't usually go to jail is ridiculous.
The only point of appointing special prosecutors is not to make sure the bad guys go to jail. It's also to put things in the public eye (and punish the other party at the polls), keep the White House scared of doing more bad things, to act as a deterrent to more bad behavior, etc. For goodness' sake, as I type, the media is trying to figure out to deal with the realization that Comey's FBI was at best duped by the Russians. You think that is of no value? Do you think the Trump 2024 campaign thinks it's of no value?
The reason the Democrats can get away with so much, right now--like the White House writing letters to itself from the NASB--is because the Republicans don't control any part of Congress, and they can't sic a special counsel on Biden. Pretending that the only reason to want the Republicans to be able to hold hearings and start investigations is to make sure our favorite villains go to jail is absurd. There are checks and balances, and Congress isn't scrutinizing the White House one bit right now--the Democrats are basically policing themselves.
There are no cops right now. The Democrats are running riot, and it won't start to end until the Republicans take control of the House in 2022.

Damn, dude, I brought this up in Morning Lynx, at least give me a hat tip or something.
These are the professionals that jeffy says we should give our kids over to.
Except chemjeff never said that.
For the benefit of the thread, Mike is here to concern troll. He will pretend that he is middle of the road, because he wants people to think that he is a libertarian. But he is not. He is a dyed in the wool lefty.

That is Mike insisting that he “would never look to Rolling Stone” for news, after spreading their bogus ivermectin story only days earlier. Consider that: He didn’t apologize. He didn’t even try to ignore his mistake. He brazenly tried to dunk on Rolling Stone to make himself look like an arbiter of truth.
The pathological narcissism required to disrespect the truth and readers so heavily should make him ashamed. It won't though, so I advise others in the thread to avoid engaging with someone that argues in such bad faith.
Hey, now I see firsthand why everyone in this board has zero respect for you!
Chemjeff literally did say this. He said something along the lines of "you go to an architect to design your house, a doctor to take care of your health, and school teachers to decide what to teach your children."
I'm paraphrasing, but you're just making crap up.
Yeah, I remember that as well.
You are not paraphrasing. You are misquoting.
He was trying to make a subtle point, and start real discussion. (I don’t even agree with his point, but I understood it.) Alas, subtlety of thought and discussion are lost in the current Reason commentariat.
...your childish personal attacks are also lost.
Bye moron.
“everyone in this board has zero respect for you”
All that tells me is that you think the Trump fan club is “everyone”. Muting you.
LOL, kudos at bringing out once again what a bitch-made piece of emotionally stunted shit White Mike is. The race-obsessed fuckhead can't even take a couple of mild rebukes without muting people.
The only way you could know that with any certainty is if you ARE Pedo Jeffy.
So let's take a pause here and all go look up the requirements for what constitutes "a conspiracy" under the law. As in a conspiracy to violate constitutional rights.
We also need to pause to consider what it takes to get a prosecutor to bring charges AGIANST WHOM:
HRC destroying subpoenaed evidence? Nope.
17-YO kid acting in self defense? Yep: Murder 1!
Pretty sure I don't have to connect the dots here.
Hey! They got Bannon on congressional contempt! Thank God he wasn't a black AG named holder.
Progress, am I right?
Thing is, everybody should have little but contempt for Congress.
And anybody else anxiously awaiting the stories of the vital importance of the filibuster in 2023?
And this is why public choice theory is true.
Racist.
Reason.com somehow isn't reporting on Steve Bannon getting indicted for contempt of Congress.
Imagine that.
Local story.
You are going to get super reprimanded by sarc!
it is appropriate to have contempt for CON- gress ( emphasis on " con")
What LAW allows them in Legislature to also act as a private COURT?
Separation of Powers?
I've seen that question before.
Congress can investigate the executive under its oversight powers. They can compel testimony on behalf of legislative considerations.
Where the hell is their justification HERE? They are not able to investigate "criminal" actions at all.
exactly. thats the area of the Courts.
Also despotic and dastardly.

The grifters at NSBA really fucked up here. School boards, or more accurately tax payers, pay dues to belong to this organization based on the dubious claim that these racketeers represent their interests in the DC swamp. Something like 14 state boards have bailed on these clowns and the ongoing scandal sure ain't gonna help to keep the rest of their milk cows in the barn.
a.... union corporation...
It was 27 states last I saw.
My state, SC, finally joined. Took way too long, but thankfully, they did the right thing.
School officials nationwide dealing with threats over mask mandates
Florida school board members harassed and bullied reveal the extent of the threats they’ve received and why, they believe, this harassment represents a much bigger problem.
By: Katie LaGronePosted at 5:24 AM, Oct 22, 2021 and last updated 9:58 AM, Oct 22, 2021
TAMPA, Fla. — School board members Jennifer Jenkins and Shirley Brown reveal the extent of the threats they’ve received since last year.
"Parents are going to kick down my door and drag me out by my hair," Brown said. "I had to have my husband go through my emails for about a week because they were so nasty. It's a lot of, 'We're going to take you out,'" explained Brown, a Democrat, who serves on the board in Sarasota.
Brown also served as a state lawmaker but said the recent attacks over school mask mandates have been worse than any political attacks she ever received in the Legislature. At one point protesters filed outside her home, which is in a gated community.
Sarasota County school board member, Shirley Brown
For Jennifer Jenkins, the threats have been ongoing since last year, starting with LGBTQ, then critical race theory and now mask mandates.
"They were going to come at me like a freight train, and I was going to have to beg for mercy," Jenkins, a Democrat on Brevard County's School Board, explained about the threats she received recently. "There have been postcards sent to my home, vile phone calls, voicemails, emails and it started to escalate in April when the first protest showed up at my house."
Jenkins made national headlines last week after she revealed during a school board meeting how her attacks have included people protesting outside of her home with guns, even complaints to the state's child welfare agency alleging abuse against her daughter.
"I have to take a DCF investigator to her playdate so they can go underneath her clothing and check for burn marks. That's a credible threat," she told colleagues.
You'd think if this shit was ongoing since April, these shitlibs would smarten up and try to figure out a way to calm things the fuck down, instead of antagonizing parents further.
Two things:
1. Having to have your spouse read your emails because they're so nasty? ROFLMFuckingAO!
2. A DCF investigator following your kid around everywhere they go because of threats you feel are baseless or even illegal? Good. You can choke on that dick, standalone and on principle.
They're brazen stupidity is mindblowing. Baffled that the mob shows up at their doorstep like they're Victor Frankenstein despite the fact that they aren't resurrecting the dead, but just overseeing the education of children, wondering why morale isn't improving.
"We're going to take you out" can mean in a 100% political sense.
Just
Do
It
Yeah, the lesson should be obvious. You don't fuck with people's kids. That's one area where normally relaxed people will resort to violence if they feel there is a real threat.
Biden. The Grift that keeps on Grifting.
If I had a dog like Joe Biden Id shave its ass and make it walk backwards.
President Drool Bucket.
Both the FBI and NSB used language that limited the request for FBI assistance to “threats”.
There are a few possibilities here.
If there were genuine threats made, and the FBI investigated, there is nothing inappropriate about that. It’s the FBI’s job. As far as I know, though, there were no genuine threats.
If the FBI harassed and investigated parents who were merely angry at meetings that would be wrong. As far as I know, though, there are no such incidents.
That leaves us with the final possibility: If there were no actual threats and the FBI hasn’t actually been “sicced” on anyone, then it has all been theater. The liberal camp raising the issue in the first place is theater, and the overreaction from the right is also theater.
The last case seems to be what happened: Blue vs. Red Team partisan theater.
Since when is it the Feds job instead of local cops?
Since never.
Not to mention, you get a threat, you call the police, you get the officer or detective that shows up, they investigate the threat. Not you get a threat, you call the police chief, he calls the Mayor, they tell you how to ask them to publicly label any/all dissenting parents as public threats, and then investigate.
But you don’t really know what the FBI did.
Have there been any reports of the FBI investigating any parents? I haven’t heard of any.
Yes. There are reports of fbi unmarked going to school board meetings dummy.
So if the fed government makes a declaration that anyone who dares speak out against Joe Biden will be investigated for possible domestic terrorism, but they don't ACTUALLY investigate anyone, then you're totes cool with it, right?
That’s not what they “declared”. What they literally said was that they would help investigate threats made against school board members.
Biden’s name is something you just introduced. He’s not a school board member.
Biden is, ultimately, in charge of the FBI. He is doing nothing to even try and reign this nonsense in. Trump tried but could not do to massive bureaucratic refusal (which is why a return to the spoils system makes sense)
Biden won’t stop it. His handlers probably came up with the idea on the first place.
^man, I knew you were a bootlicker but now I really understand why others call you such a liar..
Are you choosing to not see several important points made by the article and comments :
1. The white house wrote the letter
2. It was political to use the Jan 6 wide paint brush to smear the R candidate in Virginia
3. It doesn't bother you such heavy handed tactics are used a local school boards and you don't recognize the chilling effects it was meant to produce? It doesn't make you wince at all?
It make me want to label you a brownshirt dude
Re-read what I wrote. I said that it was political theater on the Democrat’s part.
That aligns with what you are saying in your comment. You are trying to pick a fight with me when I’m not in disagreement with you.
So, cut it out with the ad hominems.
They made 8- 1/2 x 11 color glossy photos with circles and arrows...

The FBI, effectively, wrote the letter to themselves.
No, the FBI's job is to investigate the very narrow set of crimes and circumstances that are properly under federal jurisdiction. Threats made to a local school board are not that. The fact that similar things might be happening in multiple states doesn't make it a federal issue.
Well, that certainly explains the FBI searching Project Veritas Offices for Biden's daughters lost Diary eh?
Oh yeah....moment of silent lucidity.
Are these the SAME Feds that are STILL baffled by documented multiple shooters at Las Vegas a couple years ago?
Seems as if "law enforcement" ( a Communist ideal, Karl Marx) cant find their ass with both hands unless they find some ' evidence' on a Facebook page.
Talk about 'Fifing' things up!
Keep in mind, the FBI had all kinds of surveillance going on with the Kenosha riots, including drone footage, yet Rittenhouse is the only one who's been arrested for anything connected to said riots.
At least Rosenbaum and Huber are still dead.
Not so absurdly. Maybe the Capitol Hill mostly peaceful demonstration should be compared to raucous but mostly peaceful school board meetings.
Did the Feds also have agent provacteurs and other paramilitary teams on site at PTA meetings?
This is a surprise to anyone? Feds have been hot and heavy in bed with the Dems at least since early Trump.
How many lies and false flags does it take?
as many as possible till they run out of false Flag Poles.

The day after the fire, February 28, 1933, President Hindenburg, at Hitler’s urging, issued two emergency decrees designed to make such arrests legal, even those that had already taken place. Their titles—“For the Defense of Nation and State” and “To Combat Treason against the German Nation and Treasonable Activities”—reveal how Hitler used the fire to further his own goals. The two decrees suspended, until further notice, every part of the constitution that protected personal freedoms. The Nazis claimed that the decrees were necessary to protect the nation from the “Communist menace.”

CDC & NIAID engages EcoHealth Alliance to fund Wuhan Lab research it has been precluded from funding.
Clinton Campaign engages Fusion GPS to fabricate allegations it then forwards to the DoJ to be used to deceive a FISA Court.
Are these people taught dissimulation at University or do they attend a seminar somewhere?

What else is the Bureau of Investigation for but to infiltrate, rob and bust Italian beer brewers, uppity black activists, unreconstructed hippies and people who have turned to communism as the only mentionable alternative to the Methodist White Terror and prohibitionism? Libertarian candidates are kept out of debates and mentioned only pejoratively by the looter media, so spoiler voting is neutralized, perhaps by infiltration. The FBI once has so many agents in the communist party after WW2 some suggested they take it over entirely.

Where is Ms. Garcia working these days? That is very insightful.
And who in the White house was colluding with Ms. Garcia (most likely they started this bs..Susan Rice? Likely). Having to spread the "white supremacy" hammer to ensure their marxist equity push fully takes over everwhere and they can of course enrich themselves by "purging" America as the experts who well paid (Garland's son in law). The leaders at NSBA sound like the heads of the LP in DC....i.e. Bishop Henchman?
but...Marxists are WHITE EUROPEANS.

So parents whose brains have been pickled by right-wing media and who are sending endless death threats to school board members, stalking them, and disrupting their duties with hysterical screeching so that their child gets a government education without any requirements that they practice hygiene, and the big problem you latch onto is what victims those lunatics are?
Don't you rightwingers ever get tired of thinking of yourselves as victims? Don't you ever want to grow a pair of man testicles and stop whining like little fucking bitches?
Yeah hygiene. That's the sticking point.
Also Toni Morrison novels.
Because the big problem in the world right now is not enough book burnin'.

I love that your response is that you intend to continue whining like a dainty little vagina, followed by an empty threat.
This coming from the same bitch who whined about his allies getting their just desserts with a bullet.
Ah yes, typical Trumptard response. Can't form an argument but semi-vailed threats of violence... You do understand the issue that the FBI is investigating is exactly that. People cannot argue their point in a civilized manor are resorting threats of violence.
Thanks for proving the DOJ's point.
Well put Tony, these snowflakes think they're Patrick Henry, if Patrick Henry thought freedom meant not doing your part and letting lunatics take over local politics by doxing and threats. Washington had his troops be treated for smallpox - Ohh the horror! the monster should have been put in the stocks!
Meanwhile, Joe, Tony, and their allies shit their pants at being challenged at the school board and city council level.

Nice Blog,
Parents questioning the State's indoctrination? Better send the Fascists Bullying Individuals to "get to the bottom of it"
Reason seems to think that people engaged in "acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials" are simply "aggrieved parents". Let's think who else is just "aggrieved" -
1) the Jan 6 protesters who physically assaulted Capitol police
2) people who conduct mass shootings
3) the 9/11 aircraft hijackers
The list goes on. Just "aggrieved" people.
Yet only 2, 3 where planned specifically to kill a massive amount of people. Anything beyond "aggrieved" to describe the rest is trying to silence/de-stain them by deceitful exaggeration.
Didn't realize the OANN comment section had moved to Reason.com
The article seems to conflagrate those that show up at school board meetings angry about some 'harm' being done to their child (probably not enough praying in school) - and those that seem to go out of their way to threaten physical harm. The first being protected first amendment activity, the 2nd potentially being a crime.
It like the typical right wing fear mongering....
a) they are teaching CRT in school! We must stop them at all cost! O.K. .... What exactly are you defining as CRT? And which K-12 schools are teaching it? What class? I know schools in my area are so busy "teaching to the test" they don't spend any time outside that very narrow target. Teacher's evaluation is based on the test.
b) Transgender's are taking over the school and raping our kids.
And yes, it turns out those that are fearing for their kid's ... education??? are mostly QAnon believing Trumplicans. And yes, some of those idiots are also those that stormed the Capital for the great Tea Party of Jan 6th 2021. And yes, some of those actually assaulted police officers and others.
Sorry. The rest of us don't care.
And at the end of the day the battle's true roots resides in Gov-Gun-POWER and its FORCED dictation. Again; WTF is Gov-Guns doing in every citizens personal education?
Land of the Free? Where tyrants dictate clear down to exactly what "education" is and made mandatory for every individual person? No; they call that Indoctrination Camps.
And a lie. Jeff stated multiple times education should be designed by teachers and parents and citizens should have virtually no say.
Mike is a terrible liar.
