Chinese Officials Are Obscuring the Truth About COVID-19
We don't know if COVID-19 escaped from a lab or not. The Chinese government apparently wants to keep it that way.

American politicians "all fall eerily silent when inquired about the reason why Fort Detrick was closed right before the pandemic outbreak," asserted an op-ed titled "Watch out for the US-made viruses," which was published in China Daily on June 24. The piece goes on to hint that evidence points to COVID-19 escaping from that U.S. military research facility, which would mean the virus began spreading several months earlier in the U.S. rather than in Wuhan. In fact, Fort Detrick was shut down in August 2019 for several months due to safety concerns.
"Once again we urge the US to open up Fort Detrick as soon as possible, grant necessary access to international experts to learn relevant information, and publish research conducted in its over 200 biological labs all over the world," urged Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian at a June 24 press conference. Chinese officials continue to insinuate that perhaps COVID-19 was introduced into Wuhan by American soldiers during the Military World Games in October 2019. Conversely, some members of Congress are now asking the Biden administration to investigate whether the games were a "superspreader event" during which U.S. military athletes became infected by the novel coronavirus.
As it happens, Jesse Bloom, a virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, reported earlier this week that he had located genetic sequences of COVID-19 that had been deleted from an open-access sequence database at the request of Chinese researchers. Bloom was one of the chief organizers of an open letter published last month in Science arguing that "we must take hypotheses about both natural and laboratory spillovers seriously until we have sufficient data. A proper investigation should be transparent, objective, data-driven, inclusive of broad expertise, subject to independent oversight, and responsibly managed to minimize the impact of conflicts of interest."
Now Bloom reports in a non-peer-reviewed preprint that the deleted sequences differ from those identified at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market where the outbreak was initially thought to have originated. His analysis of these sequences suggests that COVID-19 could have been circulating in Wuhan well before Chinese researchers reported identifying it on December 30, 2019.
Interestingly, a study published earlier this week in the journal PLOS Pathogens by a team of University of Kent bioscientists analyzes the early spread of the virus outside of China. Working backward, they calculate that COVID-19 emerged in China in early October to mid-November, and by January, had spread globally. The researchers assume the virus originated in animals and spilled over into humans.
Over at The New York Times, University of North Carolina information scientist Zeynep Tufekci has just published a terrific analysis and timeline of what we do and do not know about the origins of COVID-19. "What we already know is troubling," she concludes. Among other things, Tufekci reports that several of the researchers who were co-authors of a February 2020 open letter in The Lancet that "strongly condemn[ed] conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin" are rethinking the lab leak theory.
As it demands of the United States, China should immediately "grant necessary access to international experts to learn relevant information" from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. But maybe Chinese officials and researchers do really have something to hide.

It's a year and a half late, but I guess I'll take it.
I'm hoping to see: "Lockdowns Were Unscientific Bullshit" hopefully before 2025.
Oh, and America lied about COVID-19 too, so there's that.
Although to be fair, had Reason covered this on say, ReasonTV any time in 2020, their channel would have been shut down by Youtube, so you don't want to run afoul of the infallible fact-checkers in Silicon Valley.
Reason promoted the hysteria, and Bailey has led the way lying about potential treatments so he can advocate for mandatory vaccinations and public health totalitarianism.
Honestly, these are capital offenses.
Making money online more than 15$ just by doing simple work from home. I have received $18376 last month. Its an easy and simple job to do and its earnings are much better than regular office job and even a little child can do this and earns money. Everybody must try this job by just use the info

How is this different from the president of the United States being censored, deplatformed, canceled and erased along with everyone else who shared evidence of election rigging?
So far different that Nazi assholes are obviously not even cognizant of the differences.
Fuck off and die, Nazi.
Reason could have posted their shit on PornHub. They've done it in the past, they can do it again.
If they did that, they'd be wondering if they "caught herpes from that prostitute last week, or the ex wife we haven't seen for 5 years"?
We may never know.
If I go over to Pornhub, I'm not watching reason.
What is the sound of one hand reasoning?
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! …Yeah!! splat. Sigh.

If they haven’t done anything wrong, they have nothing to hide.
They were doing the work Fauci told them to do.
He is a criminal.
The work Fauci *paid* them to do: make a bioweapon against the West.
Our Establishment made sure it spread far and wide, and Americans were prevented from using safe and effective treatments against it.
Hiding things is what the Chinese government is all about. Any possible clues about the origin have been erased long ago, and any unreliable witnesses transferred somewhere out of sight.
That may be, but we are equally as bad. The truth is, China and America conspired to remove trump by any means, including a virus. Well, that’s what the discerning reader has concluded. The skeptic says even trump was in on it, and there is an even more nefarious plan at work. No clue what that would be besides more loss of rights, but it’s safe to say that at least China and the US were in on it. I guaran fucking tee it.
I think the U.S. is just as complicit otherwise why would they go along with protecting China by saying it was animal to human and no one can ask otherwise

I'm seeing a lot of what appears to be confusion in this thread, and I suspect it's because of the title.
"Chinese Officials Are Obscuring the Truth About COVID-19".
That was a curious choice if the major revelation in the article is that the NIH obscured the truth about covid-19.
If the fact is that our own NIH deleted data at the request of the Chinese, then China isn't really to blame for that. The NIH is to blame for the NIH doing the bidding of the Chinese.
Do people still not understand what is being alleged here?
"Jesse Bloom, a virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, reported earlier this week that he had located genetic sequences of COVID-19 that had been deleted from an open-access sequence database at the request of Chinese researchers."
----Ron Bailey
Bailey doesn't call the NIH out by name, but Jesse Bloom does. The data was apparently deleted from the NIH's open-access sequence database by the NIH--at the request of the Chinese researchers.
China isn't to blame for that cover up. The NIH is to blame.
It's true that "Chinese Officials Are Obscuring the Truth About COVID-19", but the lede should be that the NIH is obscuring the truth about the origin of covid-19--to the point that they're deleting evidence that proves the NIH's complicity in the origin of the pandemic.
The NIH is to blame for this, and they apparently tried to destroy the evidence.
So he confuses the nih for a CCP front. That's a reasonable mistake
What is being alleged is:
The CCP and the us military conspired with the IC, some dems, some repubs, most governors, most hospitals, the CDC, the WHO, the NIH, the entire media, the UK, possibly Russia and India and Canada, most social media and big tech to kill off millions of us in a virus that will keep killing for years to come.
What’s being implied is, this was an attack on each of those countries own citizens.
And the reason it’s being implied is because to come out an say it would result in either world wide panic or world wide denial. In all likelihood, no one would believe it if it were true because we’d be better off just forgetting it ever happened because there’s nothing more frightening to a human than the abject loss of control.
If we don’t have control of our own governments, that means we have control over nothing. That’s scary. And that’s why it’s being implied.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. What they want you to think. What they're trying to cover up is much bigger.
Actually, I thought that was pretty bad too, but it turns out that the standard agreement for all scientists is when the send data to the NIH to be posted, the have a right to ask for it too be deleted.
That's what happened, NIH confirmed that rather than pretend it was never there, and the data had already been copied and saved by other researchers before it was deleted.
I'm not blaming the NIH, for this one.
Stop providing important context. We have biases to confirm!
the NIH should not have erased information that was critical to a world wide pandemic, it was foolish if not outright criminal intent.
Bingo. We don't know exactly what happened in Wuhan or how the virus started. However, at this point we have pretty damn convincing evidence that the NIH was complicit in covering up what happened in Wuhan and was actively preventing investigation and spread of the story.
We even have intelligence leaks that the whole coverup and blockading the investigation was to hide the funding scandal of the US NIH and DOD, funding a reckless biolab that does questionable research for the CCP.
The conspiracy is a simple one. The US bureaucrats covering their ass on a funding scandal.
The NIH is to blame for this, and they apparently tried to destroy the evidence.
Without more evidence, potentially better to say that the NIH colluded with Chinese researchers to have the data deleted. Whether the NIH deleted the data specifically as the result of the request or whether the researchers requested special privileges that allowed them to remove the data from the NIH's open server isn't distinguished. And we'll probably never know.
Fauci ouchey.
Chinese Officials Are Obscuring the Truth About COVID-19
WHAT??? WE'RE JUST FINDING THIS OUT???
Susan Wojcicki, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey had a conference call last week. They're allowing it.
I'm actually glad they suppressed it, because it shows how dangerous suppressing news stories as disinformation is.
The revelation isn't that they were obscuring the truth by trying to stymie the investigation.
The revelation is that the NIH or the NIAID may have deleted the evidence of covid-19's origins--at the instructions of the Chinese.
The NIH appears to be willfully complicit in the cover-up--if I'm reading this properly. The NIH funded this research, it appears to have created the pandemic, and then NIH appears to have tried to hide their complicity by deleting the tell-tale sequences showing that the virus almost certainly came from the research the NIH was funding at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Fauci needs to answer for his crimes against humanity.
Not just fauci
Yes those trillion dollar corporations run by amoral billionaires you fuckers keep championing here made damn sure this information was deep sixed because they are arms of the totalitarian states in America and China.
Good thing there was no collusion between Big Tech and those associated with the lab and scientists went out looking for the truth rather than acting as political hacks first and foremost. People might have died unnecessarily if those things happened kind of like if we'd locked sick people in with the most vulnerable and forced everyone out of environments hostile to the outbreak and into more favorable breeding grounds.
The actions of politicians, media and scientists should be condemned as strongly as the Nazi holocaust but instead they are generally lauded by their co-conspirators for their mass murder.
Because no one wants to deal with the fact that we attacked ourselves.
In other breaking news, it looks Trump is going to throw his hat into the ring for the Republican party nomination in 2016.
Yeah, but there's no chance he'll win.
Just his hat? Or the hat and the hair?
I want to quote this in full--because the implications are outrageous--if I understand what's written here:
"Jesse Bloom, a virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, reported earlier this week that he had located genetic sequences of COVID-19 that had been deleted from an open-access sequence database at the request of Chinese researchers.
----Ron Bailey
1) The interesting part of that sequence is the part where he determined that the sequences that were deleted from the analysis indicate that covid-19 probably came from the strain of bat viruses that they were working on at the Wuhan Institute of Virolgoy.
Shouldn't that be the lede? I'm looking forward to the peer reviewed version. If it checks out, there's your smoking gun.
Oh, but it gets worse.
2) When he says that sequences of covid-19 were deleted from the open-access databases "at the request of Chinese researchers", who exactly did the deleting? Are we talking about the NIH or the NIAID deleting this from the official repository American researchers and medical personnel use to work on covid-19?!
Holy moly! Am I reading this wrong? Is this NOT about what the NIH or NIAID deleting this data at the request of Chinese researchers?
If the NIH or the NIAID was taking instructions for a cover-up from the Chinese government or the Chinese researchers who are responsible for this, then there needs to be a thorough investigation. Covering it up makes somebody an accessory. Is the NIH or NIAID working with the Chinese government to cover up their complicity in killing 3.5 million people and destroying the world economy?
Maybe I'm not getting this right. Why isn't this front page news on every newspaper? Why isn't this the first story in every news broadcast? Why aren't there people from both parties screaming for a prosecutor on the Senate floor? The is the most outrageous thing I can remember reading. This would be like finding out that the NIH was complicit in the anthrax attack on 9/11--and tried to cover it up under instructions from Al Qaeda. Has the whole world gone mad?
This is where we get an emphatic apology to China for causing offense.
Herro Hans
They should be pissed off! They really should. They should grill us for this for all its worth.
The NIH had no business funding this dangerous research at Chinese lab with ties to the CCP's biological weapons program--and a terrible safety record.
You know what seems to have happened here?
China may have refused to fund this research because the Wuhan Institute of Virology failed their Chinese safety inspections. So, they turned to the United States for money. Giving those people the money to do this is like giving a notorious drunk the keys to the school bus.
When China blames the United States government for funding this dangerous research at a Chinese lab with a terrible safety record, they are absolutely right. They probably went to the U.S. for funding because the Chinese said it was too dangerous, and the pandemic might not have happened at all if it were for the funding from the NIH. Dr. Fauci should be on a plane to Ecuador right now.
I am hoping for reparations.
Meanwhile in Australia:
Scientists using computer modeling to study SARS-CoV-2, the virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic, have discovered the virus is most ideally adapted to infect human cells—rather than bat or pangolin cells, again raising questions of its origin.
https://medicalxpress.com/news/2021-06-covid-mystery-virus-highly-human.html
See my post below.
This abstract, the one that Bailey is reporting on, is the smoking gun.
It's saying that the sequences the NIH deleted from their repository for research purposes mark it with three mutations that signify that covid-19 is from the same virus that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was working on--with NIH funding.
This is the connection. This is the smoking gun.
Once this is peer reviewed, there are no more mysteries to solve. This solves them all! We've opened the envelope in the middle of the board, and the killer was Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick. It's game over!
Is the NIH or NIAID working with the Chinese government to cover up their complicity in killing 3.5 million people and destroying the world economy?
I remember you expressing skepticism when I theorized a few weeks ago that Fauci was just the tip of the iceberg with this Wuhan involvement. China really wanted Biden to be president. Just going to put that out there again.
I can't swear to their motivations, but I don't see why they'd do this to themselves, regardless of whom they'd rather have as president of the U.S., and I think they have the same problems with bureaucratic incompetence as we do--and for the same reasons, too. Occam's razor, never attribute to nefarious and ingenious motives what might just as easily be explained by stupidity and incompetence--especially when we're talking about a bureaucracy and bureaucratic incompetence is the norm.
Yeah, idk. Why would they take all of the heat for our fuck up if they weren't complicit?
My money is still on collaboration between the CIA and CCP. And therefore we will never ever know the truth of the matter.
That's not Occam's Razor (the possibility with the fewest assumptions is usually correct), nor did you even get the canonical phrasing of Hanlon's Razor right ("Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity").
So China has their hand in Biden's ass up to their elbow. Who could have seen that coming?
Joe Biden, China's puppet.
Whew! At least it isn’t Russia!
Yet he's more pro-Putin than Trump could have dreamed of being.
Finally people are thinking this shit through to its conclusions. Jesus you slack jawed cavemen, how long has taken to spoon feed you to this?
Why isn’t this the first story in every news broadcast?
how could that possibly help the democrats in govt... and how could it have helped get trump out of office?
I mean - come on Ken! What do you think the press is there for?
According to the Times article, anyone who uploads data to this open access database has the right to request deletion at any time. So the database administration didn’t have a choice.
Good luck with the Peer review Ken. it will be "top Men", who? " TOP MEN" looking at it.
covid was warfare just like poison dog food and those forever-stickers they put on everything that never come off
For those of you wondering about the source of this information, it is unnecessary to get this filtered through a news article. We can go straight to the source.
"The origin and early spread of SARS-CoV-2 remains shrouded in mystery. Here I identify a data set containing SARS-CoV-2 sequences from early in the Wuhan epidemic that has been deleted from the NIH’s Sequence Read Archive. I recover the deleted files from the Google Cloud, and reconstruct partial sequences of 13 early epidemic viruses. Phylogenetic analysis of these sequences in the context of carefully annotated existing data suggests that the Huanan Seafood Market sequences that are the focus of the joint WHO-China report are not fully representative of the viruses in Wuhan early in the epidemic. Instead, the progenitor of known SARS-CoV-2 sequences likely contained three mutations relative to the market viruses that made it more similar to SARS-CoV-2’s bat coronavirus relatives.
----Jesse D. Bloom, Abstract
https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.06.18.449051v1
If I understand this properly--and someone correct me if I'm wrong . . .
1) The data that was deleted appears to have been deleted by the NIH!
2) It isn't just that the deleted sequence doesn't resemble the virus from the seafood market sequence. It's that the deleted sequence marks it with three mutations as "SARS-CoV-2’s bat coronavirus" AKA covid-19.
Waiting for peer review. In the meantime, somebody needs to make sure Fauci doesn't leave the country.
He deserves the Mussolini treatment.
" somebody needs to make sure Fauci doesn’t leave the country."
Fauci didn't kill himself.
1) It appears that way but has been downloaded by many researchers and republished in subsequent papers. But, this is an unprecedented attack on scientific integrity.
2)It can be inferred that they were deleted because they were not very similar to all the other sequences from that region and that they were obvious red herrings to suggest bat origin as they deleted sequences were the only ones remotely close to natural bat viruses.
They were covering their tracks!
I don't understand why there hasn't been a suspension of all NIH funding to foreign labs pending an investigation of the NIH's funding standards.
"Despite the WIV presenting itself as a civilian institution, the United States has determined that the WIV has collaborated on publications and secret projects with China’s military. The WIV has engaged in classified research, including laboratory animal experiments, on behalf of the Chinese military since at least 2017."
----Department of State
https://2017-2021.state.gov/fact-sheet-activity-at-the-wuhan-institute-of-virology/index.html
Even if covid-19 had nothing to do with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, why are U.S. taxpayers funding research in a lab that works for the Chinese military on what may be bioweapons? That's just incompetent. That's like finding out that the U.S. Department of Energy was funding nuclear research at a lab in Moscow during the Cold War. What were they thinking? Have we even stopped funding research in labs with ties to the Chinese military or is that still happening?
In the wake of the Waco tragedy, Janet Reno offered her resignation, but Clinton didn't accept it--presumably because that might suggest that someone in the Clinton administration might have made a mistake. 76 people were burned alive, dozens of them children, but no--mistakes were not made in this "tragedy"! That's what it seems like we're getting here. I keep waiting for somebody to tell me that we're not funding this kind of research in these kinds of labs anymore, but I haven't read anything like that.
I don’t understand why there hasn’t been a suspension of all NIH funding to foreign labs pending an investigation of the NIH’s funding standards.
I think you do understand... at the very least - in your hear of hearts.
unprecedented attack on scientific integrity.
Unprecedented? You wish!
-jcr
It is, even retracted papers are not deleted.
But, this is an unprecedented attack on scientific integrity.
Hide the decline.
The problem is that spreading false info has been normalized by those with certain political views.
Fauci huh? That’s your only suspect?
We are fucked if only one person takes the blame for all this.
At the very least, the person responsible for overseeing the funding of the NIAIH and the person who changed the rules of what they were allowed to fund--to include this--should be held accountable.
It doesn't even matter whether covid-19 resulted from these experiments--in that regard. This research never should have been funded in this lab, and that fact that it was is reason enough to hold the responsible parties accountable.
Obama lifted the suspension on funding gain of function for WIV 11 days before trump took office:
https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/blog/2017/01/09/recommended-policy-guidance-potential-pandemic-pathogen-care-and-oversight
I keep hearing that the moratorium against conducting or funding this research was lifted in 2017, suggesting that this was done under the Trump administration. The press is obviously phrasing it this way in order to deflect blame from the Obama administration. The stakes are very high for the Democrats to retain both houses of Congress in 2022. Should they not, the coming investigations could be extremely damaging to the Dems' patron saints.
Stop spreading misinformation, Ron. WaPo, NYT, Vox, Salon, HuffPo, CNN, MSNBC, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram ALL agree, the lab leak theory is racist disinformation. The science is settled.
Stop your Asian hate, Ron.
A proper investigation should be transparent, objective, data-driven, inclusive of broad expertise, subject to independent oversight, and responsibly managed to minimize the impact of conflicts of interest."
Communist China is about as likely to accommodate such an investigation as the Clintons or Bidens.
That last part about, "conflicts of interest" is about the guy who used U.S taxpayer dollars to fund the research in Wuhan being on the WHO team, writing the report about the origin of the pandemic.
People would think this was over the top if you put it in a movie.
Ken, just wear your mask and follow Fauci’s orders.
In other news, the sky is blue.
No shit man.
If Bailey, and the rest of Reason had any sense of responsibility or shame articles like this would be prefaced with obsequious apologies.
Instead we get Soviet level gaslighting.
We don't know if COVID-19 escaped from a lab or not.
They didn't have bats at the wet market, but they had bats at the bioweapons lab next door. What more do you fucking need to know?
Bats are ubiquitous and it is now believed that the virus did not originate at the market. Also it may have originated from other animals who may or may not have been infected by bats. Coronaviruses can be carried by a number of animals. Minks, ferrets, otters, tigers, pangolin, many others have been reported.
It is also possible that it was around for some time prior to its recognition in Wuhan and mistaken for flu or other respiratory infection as the symptoms are nonspecific. It also may have been carried by humans with mild illness and then mutated to a more contagious form as is happening already. It was first recognized in Wuhan. That does not mean it originated there.
After more than a year with something this widespread a definitive trail will probably never be found.
Sure a lab error is possible but you will never be able to prove it.
So we will probably never know. What is happening now is more political than anything.
And yet they've still found no trace of an intermediary host...
Trace? It has been proven to infect many mammals as other similar coronavirus do. I am not sure you know much about the molecular genetics involved.
It is not known how the pathway of this one evolved. I do not think it will be. You are not talking about some sort of proven hypothesis.
Mother Nature has some thing many of them we do not understand. You bring up Trump below as if the viral codons are political. I can see right through that. Biology does not care.
So what matters is getting through this. Vaccines are the most powerful weapons we have. We have learned better how to treat the sick. Life is opening up and should. At this point that should be the focus.
Maybe Bailey can't bring himself to accept that the virus was man-made, because then he'd have to admit that human-animal chimeras might have a downside.
https://reason.com/2016/08/08/human-animal-chimeras-are-ok-argues-rona/#comments
The reluctance to regulate research is a legitimate concern, and I'm not sure the facts in this case suggest that private American companies shouldn't be free to pursue this kind of research. After all, the reason Fauci and company funded this research in a lab in China may have been that no private lab in the developed world in their right mind would do such research with or without regulation in place--for ethical reasons, economic reasons, or reasons of liability. If Fauci's NIH couldn't find any private parties irresponsible enough to do the research, we probably shouldn't blame the private parties.
Regulating the use of U.S. tax dollars is another question entirely. Why did they send U.S. taxpayer dollars to a Chinese lab that the U.S. State Department says does bioweapons research for the Chinese military? Why did they fund this research in this lab when U.S. inspectors warned against funding it because of lax safety standards (which they reported after touring the lab), and why did the NIH fund this research in this lab after the lab failed Chinese safety inspections?
Bureaucratic incompetence is the norm. I'd understand if we decided that this work was too dangerous to be funded by or performed by the government. I feel the same way about educating children, saving for my retirement, and protecting my family from burglars. Those jobs are too dangerous to leave to government! But I'm not sure private parties shouldn't be free to do dangerous work.
Somebody needs to be free to operate the control tower at the airport, perform heart surgeries, and transport hazardous chemicals, and this gain of function work, when done by responsible private parties, may supply some astounding benefits to society in the future--even if the government shouldn't be allowed to fund it with taxpayer money. The government certainly shouldn't be allowed to fund this dangerous research in unsafe conditions in foreign labs with ties to the Chinese military and overseen by corrupt bureaucrats in the Chinese government.
Why did they send U.S. taxpayer dollars to a Chinese lab that the U.S. State Department says does bioweapons research for the Chinese military? "
similar question from a few years ago why did U.S. taxpayer dollars send poison gas to Iraq to experiment with in their utterly useless weapons labs?
why does our country do this shit. we are not led by smart people we are led by idiots looking for ways to get money in their pockets at any cost
I was thinking that it also cuts pretty deep against the open immigration and pro-globalism narratives.
The really neat thing about a virus like this is that it hold little bits of indelible encryption, very similar to (if I understand it correctly) a blockchain. Such information would give strong indication of the provenance and manipulation that the virus has experienced.
Whether the PCR, or NIH or anyone else wants to hide the truth, the truth is there. The trick is for a qualified team to sequence it, and then publish those findings in an open, legitimate, peer-reviewed journal.
Properly organized, this could be a great moment for an international team from the US, EU and PRC to work together, openly. I have little hope that it will actually happen, but if it did, it could be a great moment for cooperation.
Unless to access it you need to go through a Google, Facebook, Amazon, or Gov server, then it will get blocked
Any lab can sequence. I was a student in labs doing that in the 80s and sequencing was old news. It has been sequenced many many times all over the world.
How do you think they got the vaccines? By copying specific parts of the viral rna.
There is no mystery here. This virus has been studied and results published more than any other in history.
The mystery is regarding the evolution of the virus. You know, the key parts that were deleted in a cunning attempt to make it look like it was something it wasn’t?
Why would ANYBODY wanna do that?
Mother Nature is cunning. Every day she gives us new challenges.
So perhaps you can educate us on RNA viral replication and mutation.
Mother Nature is cunning. Every day she gives us new challenges.
Sounds like intelligent design.
Natural selection works by chance and necessity. A mutation occurs, and it spreads if those carrying it have a survival advantage.
If the Chinese were certain the bug came from animals they would be embracing an investigation to clear their image. They are not, so it did not.
It is a metaphor. Jeez
all the studying in the world is useless when sequences have been left out.
The US government wants to keep it that way as well.
The truth is out there.
And the smoking man knows it but he’s not talking.
If the CCP actually intentionally created and released this virus, it's not even the worst thing they ever did. Don't know what the body counts in Xinjian and Tibet are, but they murdered around 77 million Han Chinese during Mao's dictatorship.
The CCP is far and away the worst criminal organization that has ever existed. Stalin's communist party was a distant second.
-jcr
Yeah the scourge of virulent socialism 10X worse than COVID and continues to gain ground.
Patently false: “We don't know if COVID-19 escaped from a lab or not.”
It almost certainly came out of a lab. If it didn’t cone from the wuhan lab, the next most likely possibility is it came from some other lab. There is video evidence of Chinese researchers catching bats to research viruses, bats in the wuhan lab, and humanized mice in the wuhan lab. We know. Stop fucking around or I will look elsewhere for news.
The lab leak theory is a straight up waste of time.
It's been a year, China will lie anyway. What's the point?
https://thomas-brown.medium.com/the-lab-leak-hypothesis-is-a-waste-of-time-c07d0666fa57
Because it gives people a chance to bash Fauci and China at the same time.
And c’mon. We all know it wasn’t Oswald.
You dumb motherfuckers should be trying to pin this on trump. After all, the US was complicit and trump was in charge at the time.
But the deep state showed where the power was for his whole 4 years. You liberals are indeed useful retards. Keep covering for the US deep state, surely they'll only use this to implement socialism and save the environment.
So deep state, socialist, dumb motherfucker, save the environment, useful retard.
Flattery will get you nowhere.
At least you are entertaining. Try to be more creative. Those phrases are so passé.
You seem to think that smug will get you everywhere.
It is funny how quickly some have pivoted from “just the flu” back to “China did it”.
I have little doubt that both the governments of both US and China are responsible for the accidental release of viruses. That both governments and others are actively working on weaponizing viruses.
We live is country that has a facade of freedom, but at the roots of the powerful elites there precious little intent of letting the common person live free. The powerful elites utilize less violence and more indirect methods of "Persuading" than the government in China, but we live believing in this illusion of freedom that is has been promoted by the powerful elites.
In China, the common person is confronted more directly with the will of government and the powerful elites. The need to maintain living within the boundaries of what is deemed acceptable by the powerful elites. If they step outside of these boundaries, the the full force of government is used to correct the aberrant behaviors. Over the years, China has started to use more indirect methods to persuade, but still utilize more direct methods and threats of violence.
In the US, we delude ourselves believing that we can exercise freewill. We are in reality being contained within acceptable boundaries dictated by the powerful elites. We do exercise limited modifications to the boundaries, but only those boundaries that the powerful elites really do not care about and use these social changes to divide us in an effort to distract us from seeing the reality of our situation.
In the world there are the controlled and the controllers. There are a few people who don't want to be controlled and also do not want to control others. Unfortunately there are many more people who want to believe or not think about the fact that they are being controlled or manipulated. Likewise there is an ample supply of people who strive to gain enough power to control others and either force or manipulate others.
I can envision some aspects of government being beneficial, but the more local and less invasive into our lives the better. When governments grow to the size of the US and China, they become tyrannical at best.
Governments should be a voluntary collection of people who agree to some limited rules and how to apply them. Individuals should retain the right to disassociate at any time for any reason. The tendency would be a small and local government instead of the massive empires we see today.
Will humans collectively become aware enough to break the chains of being controlled by others and rule themselves?
It is impossible to centrally govern a country the size of the US or China which is why a federalist government with a small central government was envisioned. Unfortunately the US has been steadily moving away from that ever since.
Technology precipitates centralized control because a surveillance state is more readily implemented with technology.
Technology doesn’t make us freer. It makes us easier to watch, manipulate, and track down.
Agreed.
Never assume the collective rationality of a group of individually rational agents.
COVID-19 was a biowarfare attack on China and Iran by rogue elements in the US government.
And guess who wrote the security software for Dominion and the CDC and recently turned up dead in a Spanish jail? Hmmm.
Oh and the same individual reportedly had back up files stored in an office in a certain condo building in Florida which has inexplicably collapsed.
Q has not been heard from for 6 months. What did he know?
They are not telling us everything about those UFOs. It is not a coincidence that they are mostly seen around military bases. Residents are reporting strange effects like power outages and buzzing in the ears. The Chinese have been working on gravity defying electromagnetic flying machines for years. Seems they have perfected the technology.
Also that is not the real Joe Biden. It is a hologram. The real Joe Biden is in a retirement home with Alzheimer’s in Delaware.
The pattern is coming together.
Q? Q?????
Kys scumbag.
Echo spinner clearly works for the military.
You’re a goddamned boot licking whore. Holograms btw are going to be how they trick you. Just wait.
We get your point.
But it is irrelevant when the evidence points to the Wuhan lab as far and away the more likely origin of the virus. The Chicoms have had a year to find a suitable bat that could be blamed, but found nothing. They spin wild, implausible stories about US military bringing the virus to Wuhan. The Wuhan lab has terrible safety standards. They refuse even minimal cooperation to investigate. They have a track record of gaslighting the world about their concentration camps. Their stories are worthy of Qanon.
This ain’t a TV drama where a Deus ex machina appears in the final 5 minutes to solve the mystery.
It often takes years to find an animal vector so it doesn’t say anything one way or another.
The virus is also highly contagious in minks and there are mink farms in China for example. Also raccoon dogs and foxes all of which are bred for fur which China is the leading producer of.
There is at this point no real evidence either way at this point.
Sorta like the cop who died of the fire extinguisher stroke?
BioLab leaks occur routinely (even in US labs). The US in currently building the worlds largest BSL-4 lab in Kansas (see: Hotzone In the Heartland, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists). Avoiding leaks, contamination, etc is practically impossible given how small viruses are. Perhaps now is the time for the US to lead by example by putting a halt to building more BSL labs and entering into serious negotiations to reduce the spread. Limited government ought to include limits on spreading disease whether by negligence or intentionally (the later being a war crime).
Avoiding leaks, contamination, etc is practically impossible given how small viruses are.
Nonsense. All you have to do is cover the building with an old tee shirt, and everyone will be safe.
Antarctica
Fuck that slaver. Who’s going to enforce that? You? Taxation is theft. Defund everything.
Fuck off and die, slaver.
"Chinese Officials Are Obscuring the Truth"
That's all you needed to say really as it's got a five nines probability of being true disirregardless of the topic.
They obscure everything. Even if there is nothing related to this virus they don’t want outside investigators pawing through everything going on there.
Go fuck up some other site’s comments, we don’t need your hasbara disinformation echo spinner.
Hasbara
Does that have anything to do with gefilte fish?
You trigger too easy.
Being a jew doesn't give you a pass as a smug piece of shit.
And if that is your definition of hasbara I think i just learned something about you.
I doubt it; you haven't seemed to learn much since you showed up here; smug causes that.
Actually Granite that is a compliment. Hasbara is pro-Israel advocacy. Since I am pro-Israel and advocate for that on social media you could call that Hasbara.
LOL, given they're an invasive, surveillance intensive, authoritarian society of course they obscure everything because knowledge is power. They're clearly hiding the "re-education" of Uighurs. The thing is it's equally clear they're burying data on covid which they wouldn't need to do if they were being honest.
It's kind of like the US hiding all the data on UFOs for decades and finally coming out saying 'yup, but we're still too stupid to understand it'. Maybe China is in the same situation and they won't admit it or maybe they're hiding something. Well, either way the best outcome is admitting their ignorance but it's unlikely given the tabs they keep on everyone.
I find it interesting that the official CCP line is apparently that the virus leaked out of a US facility. Is that because China is being childish ("no, YOU leaked the virus") or is their own scientific analysis that the virus doesn't look natural? They have access to all the early samples of the virus and would be best positioned to determine if this was a species jump or something artificial. The weird thing about this virus is that it caused human-human infection at roughly the same time it was infecting its first humans. China has the information and blood samples to confirm this oddity; which, if true, might point to artificial conditions in its creation.
That is just propaganda obviously.
Come on... we know. It was designed by the CCP to help Bill Gates sell vaccines. If you say that probably isn’t true and that there’s just as much evidence that Capt. Jean Luc Picard concocted this thing on the USS Enterprise it probably means you either work for a.) the Gateses, b.) Facebook or c.) you are an elitist liberal snob. Just ask Ken... he’ll tell you.
Slimy pile of shit commie kid shows up to deliver straw men.
Fuck off and die, asshole, but pay your mortgage first.
Occam's Razor. Learn about it. In this case, it goes beyond that.
Cocktail parties aren't going to get you a job at NYT, Ron.
It leaked from the lab, and it was intentionally leaked.
Not intentional. Recall that they welded people’s doors shut. If intentional they would have had a vaccine ready before release.

Maybe I'm right after all cause I still think covid 19 is more than what it seems to be, but thank God we are winning over it. Sometimes I just download some great songs and listen to help me forget about the problems of this world and it helps a lot.
“Chinese Officials Are Obscuring the Truth About COVID-19”
Why should COVID-19 be different? Chinese officials - of ALL Chinese governments throughout history - tell the truth only rarely, usually by accident.
wait, is there another story about covid-19 not from china? why this news appearing again?
here everything u wanna know about
