USPS Uses Facial Recognition and Other High-Tech Tools To Monitor Social Media
Plus: Three things that aren't as bad as they seem, Tennessee bans certain treatments for transgender minors, and more...

Is every federal agency a surveillance unit now? With a plethora of law enforcement and intelligence agencies deputized to monitor American communications, it seems insane to think that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) would also be enlisted for this task. But indeed it has been, as Yahoo News revealed earlier this year. Now, new details have emerged about the postal service's Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP), including the fact that the agency has been using facial recognition software from Clearview AI and has a specific program to monitor people posting about protests.
As part of the iCOP program, postal service employees have been monitoring Americans' social media posts and sharing things they deem suspicious with law enforcement agencies. "Yet the program is much broader in scope than previously known and includes analysts who assume fake identities online, use sophisticated intelligence tools and employ facial recognition software," writes Yahoo News' Jana Winter:
Among the tools used by the analysts is Clearview AI, a facial recognition software that scrapes images off public websites, a practice that has raised the ire of privacy advocates. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service uses Clearview's facial recognition database of over 3 billion images from arrest photos collected from across social media "to help identify unknown targets in an investigation or locate additional social media accounts for known individuals," according to materials reviewed by Yahoo News.
Other tools employed by the Inspection Service include Zignal Labs' software, which it uses to run keyword searches on social media event pages to identify potential threats from upcoming scheduled protests, according to Inspection Service documents. It also uses Nfusion, another software program, to create and maintain anonymous, untraceable email and social media accounts.
USPS has defended its practices by saying that it's simply part of keeping postal workers safe. But the agency's internal communications raise doubts:
The iCOP intelligence bulletin obtained and published by Yahoo News targeted protests planned by largely right-wing groups and discussed on Facebook, Twitter and Parler.
iCOP found no credible threats, but compiled what it described as "inflammatory" posts.
The iCOP program has also monitored protests associated with Black Lives Matter and racial justice, according to Yahoo News.
"Why has the USPS been using anything other than intelligence from the Department of Justice for monitoring events which may pose risks to normal mail delivery? Why were these resources used to monitor First Amendment-protected protest rallies like those in the wake of George Floyd's death last year?" asks Rayne at national security and civil liberties blog emptywheel.
Postal service surveillance reports are uploaded to a portal run by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and shared with task forces, surveillance centers, law enforcement units, and government agencies across the country—including the National Security Agency—as well as stored for future access.
"The retention and dissemination of these reports could allow federal agencies to receive information they are not allowed by statute to collect themselves," Winter suggests.
Whether the USPS is actually authorized to undertake such surveillance and reporting is not clear, let alone whether it is doing so in ways respectful of free speech and due process rights.
Some members of Congress have been skeptical of the Postal Service's iCOP program.
"I do not doubt that @USPS has some legitimate law enforcement responsibilities (theft, fraud, etc) but shoehorning in a massive social media surveillance operation using AI facial recognition software under the guise of a loosely-defined homeland security mission is just insane," tweeted Rep. Peter Meijer (R–Mich.) yesterday.
"Like all Americans, I am skeptical when any government agency pries into our personal and private lives under the guise of rooting out 'threats.' But for such an invasion of privacy to be carried out by the Post Office, of all agencies, is a major concern," wrote Rep. Nancy Mace (R–S.C.) in an April op-ed.
On April 30, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R–Fla.) introduced a bill "to prohibit funds from being used to implement the Internet Covert Operations Program under the United States Postal Inspection Service." It has attracted nine co-sponsors so far—all Republicans.
Congressional Democrats have been largely silent about the issue.

Three things that aren't as bad as they seem. In an interview with Reason, Scott Winship of the American Enterprise Institute casts doubt on conventional wisdom about fertility rates, income inequality, and economic mobility. Americans "have always been suckers for declension narratives—the idea that the Golden Age ended sometime in the past and we have the bad luck to live in a world that is uniquely awful, unfair, and corrupt," notes Reason's Nick Gillespie:
Three of today's most widespread declension narratives involve fertility rates, income inequality, and economic mobility. We have fewer children than ever, goes the popular story, because nobody—even the wealthy!—can afford them anymore. The spread between rich and poor has never been bigger and it's only increasing. Kids today will be the first generation in America to have a lower standard of living than their parents.
But according to Winship, these narratives are misleading to just plain false. Listen to his interview with Gillespie here.

Tennessee bans certain sorts of health care for transgender teens. "The move makes Tennessee just the second state in the United States to enact such a ban after Arkansas approved a similar version earlier this year over a veto from Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson," says ABC News. The new Tennessee law would ban doctors from providing hormone treatments or puberty blockers to anyone under age 18, in addition to prohibiting minors from receiving sex reassignment surgeries.

• Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has signed into law an anti-abortion measure that makes abortion illegal about two weeks after a woman first misses her period due to pregnancy and lets anyone who thinks the rules have been breached sue abortion providers plus those suspected of abetting them.
• A new coronavirus that transmits from animals to humans has been found in some Malaysian patients. "The patients had what looked like regular pneumonia," reports NPR. "But in eight out of 301 samples tested, or 2.7%, Xui and Gray found that the patients' upper respiratory tracts were infected with a new canine coronavirus — a dog virus."
• Utah will ban schools from requiring that students wear masks.
• "Arrest warrants have been issued for two former Colorado police officers in connection with the violent arrest last year of a 73-year-old woman with dementia," reports CNN.

Only if they can be identified by an acronym.

It's okay, because Reason has established that humping the constitution is just fine as long as the government officials do it through a pRiVAte cOmpaNy.
This reminds me of what they did to MLK. They bugged him & sent snitches in everywhere he went & tried to destroy him with a disinformation campaign. Decades later, when it came to light, they said blah, blah, blah, it was wrong, blah, blah, blah, sorry about that, blah, blah, blah, we've made reforms, blah, blah, blah. In about 20 or 30 years we'll just rinse and repeat. BTW, they won't really be sorry.

USPS has defended its practices by saying that it's simply part of keeping postal workers safe.
Oh, so that's what "going postal" means. Civilians attacking mailmen.
Now, folks, the U.S. Post Office is a real media monopoly that is actually dangerous to the First Amendment, as well as the Second, Fourth, Fifth, and indirectly, the entire Bill of Rights!
In the past, the power of the U.S. Post Office was used against Abolitionists, Anti-War activists, Free Love and LGBTQ+ activists, pornographers, birth control and abortion rights advocates and manufacturers, and is still used in the "War On (Some) Drugs!
Yet everybody has been focusing on Big Tech, that can't do a damn thing against our rights if nobody subscribes to them and if someone can open up shop and compete against them!
Where the Hell is our common sense and our priorities???
When have postal workers ever been the target of a terrorist attack? Attacks by other postal workers, dogs, and muggers don't count - and this program was clearly not designed to identify any such threats.
Postal service surveillance reports are uploaded to a portal run by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and shared with task forces, surveillance centers, law enforcement units, and government agencies across the country...
I hope there's a separate database for that information paid for with user fees instead of tax dollars. It can't be as reliable.
They prefer to be paid for each civilian dossier with these little stickers, which you can purchase from them in advance. They come in little books or giant rolls.
Literally, what's the difference between our government and the Stasi?
The Stasi wasn't nearly as efficient, and ruled mainly by fear while our snitches serve their masters willingly.
Congressional Democrats have been largely silent about the issue.
IRS Tea Party Redux
This is clearly the intent. Team D has been pretty transparent on this front.
They quite publicly announced a purge of all right-wing sympathizers from the military. Remember ... "Even libertarians" has been a tag-on catchphrase for these folks.
They have publicly announced that domestic terrorism from right-wing extremists (even libertarians) is the number one threat faced by the united states.
They have also put great pressure on media companies.. both traditional and online.. to silence any voices of dissent - they term it "online extremism" or "hate" and threaten further action by the state of these voices are not silenced. So where are you going to go to speak your peace? How will you inform people of your belief that you are being targeted unfairly by this domestic terrorism edict?
Some of the most popular personalities on the internet have been silenced for voicing dissent.. Louder with Crowder is the largest news show on YouTube. They took him down for quoting the World Health Organization and the CDC about covid death rates. They said it was "disinformation".
What chance does some weirdo group like the Proud Boys have?
A year ago I kept making Animal Farm and 1984 jokes. They aren't jokes anymore. They have already gone further than I thought possible.
This is the biggest white pill out there and strongest signal that war may not be far off. You don't purge the military unless there is strong evidence that there are factions within the military who oppose you.
Two posts were put on my friend's Facebook, though not by my friend. One pointed out the 5 governors who'd sent 15,000 people to their deaths, the other likening fact checkers to censors. Both were pulled for violating community standards because fact checkers had determined them to be false.
Libertarians have not exactly been super vocal about it.
"A new coronavirus that transmits from animals to humans has been found in some Malaysian patients."
Good thing we Koch / Reason libertarians know exactly how to handle this — by permitting unlimited, unrestricted immigration from Malaysia to the US.

What are they doing? Teen decision making is always on point.
It's not like a bizarre cult has suddenly cropped up that aggressively enables any kind of irreversible developmental changes to growing bodies.
"For too long I've been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I've been starving to death and haven't died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea. Nor the warmth of a woman's flesh."
Now that tattoos and body piercings have become mainstream, having a transgendered child is the new fad. And it doesn't do anything for your social standing to have a transgendered teen, there's a competition to see who can claim the youngest transgender. They're a fashion accessory now, they aren't actually human children. They'll be sent off to the pound once the fad dies off.
Sacrificing kids on the progressive alter
I see what you did there.
Best pun of the week
Cutting ones tits off is the new anorexia. Except celebrated.
Social contagion.
People like Ellen Page certainly don't help this shit when she goes on Oprah claiming that she wrote letters as a male character when she was three years old.
This push to troon out little kids is the result of severely mentally ill people being enabled by mass media, along with the the psych and medical industries, out of the delusion that "intolerance" is the worst sin one can commit.
Puberty is an irreversible developmental change to a growing body. The fact that it is a natural process does not make it any less irreversible. This new law in Tennessee is doing the exact thing you accuse this "cult" of doing. I am not sure why you think people helping other people get the kind of bodies they are comfortable in is a "cult."
If it was relatively easy to undo the changes puberty does to a person's body once they grew up, laws like this might make sense. But unfortunately, it is not. Obviously this is a really hard choice. If someone is mistaken and they are allowed to do these procedures, they will end up with a body they don't like. But if someone is correct and they are not allowed to do these procedures, they will also end up with a body they don't like. Right now the balance of evidence is that most people who fail to take hormones during puberty regret it later.
Either way, an irreversible developmental change is going to happen. You aren't preventing people from undergoing a change. You are forcing them to pick one change over another.
But the kind of comfort they seek is like that of the person with anorexia nervosa. Or foot binders. Or tooth pullers.
Except prepubescent children don't have the knowledge or understanding to make such a decision. They certainly don't have the wisdom to understand how their body feels and make an informed decision that will affect them for the rest of their lives. No one can make that decision for them.
Hormone treatment at that early age WILL permanently alter their growth. Let non-stereotypical girls and boys be non-stereotypical. When they are men and women, they can transition if they so choose.
Hormone treatment at that early age WILL permanently alter their growth.
It doesn't just alter their growth. It completely fucks with their libido and emotional development as well, because these hormones are an evolutionary process. It's not some beep-boop robot switch that you can turn on and off without consequences.
Look at Jazz Jennings. That poor kid is basically physically and emotionally crippled for life now. He can't feel sexual arousal so he indulges in massive food consumption, as it's the only thing that gives him actual physical pleasure, and has probably gained about 75 pounds in the last nine months. He's on a pharmacy's worth of pills and constantly has to dilate because his "vagina" is a Frankenstein's horror show stitched out of the linings of organs, so it's really nothing more than an open wound that's constantly trying to close up. He has the emotional maturity level of a 13-year-old. All so his evil narcissist of a mother could show him off as her little transkid.
Ian Malcom's lecture on scientific ethics comes to mind here.
They're never going to get the body they want, whether they get treatment as a child or an adult.
Taking hormones and getting surgeries does not turn you into a gender you are not. All it does, at best, is turn you into someone who looks like the gender you want to be. No trans women will ever really physically be a woman. No trans man will ever really physically be a man. That may have something to do with the high rates of suicide and self harm among trans people- it's fucking fake and it will never be real.
Trans kids need therapy. Tons and tons of intensive therapy, not invasive, irreparable medical treatments.
Teens??? We have literal stories of 1 year olds smart enough to decide what gender they are. Let the teens mutilate!
I don't know if that's hyperbolic, but I do have a personal anecdote.
I've talked about it here in the past, so you can Google that crap if you want.
A few years ago there was a young boy that played at the park where my kids play. He was about 5 years old. One day he started showing up in dresses and had a girl's name. My kids came over to ask me why he was wearing a dress. And they told me he had changed his name. They were confused, also being four or five years old.
This lasted for about a month and a half. Maybe two months, I don't remember exactly. Then one day he was a boy again. No announcement, just started wearing board clothes and went back to his old name.
I don't know if they made the right choice with the name and everything or not. I doubt it did much harm letting their kid run around in a dress for a couple of months. But I also have my doubts as to where the genesis of that entire experiment lay. But good on the parents for recognizing that it was just a phase and letting it pass instead of enlisting an army of psychologists and doctors to cement the phase into a permanent state of being.
It's all so weird. What's wrong with just being an atypical boy or girl? You are what you are. That doesn't mean you have to conform to anyone's stereotypes of what that has to be.
Exactly. Big fucking deal, kid wanted to wear dresses for a while. So what.
"It’s all so weird. What’s wrong with just being an atypical boy or girl? You are what you are. That doesn’t mean you have to conform to anyone’s stereotypes of what that has to be."
Stereotypes which have changed even over the past 50 years. It's just crazy. Let kids be kids without worrying about if they are "manly" or "feminine". They're kids for crying out loud.
My kid came home from school one day and told me she was trans. I said, "No you're not." She said, "How do you know? You have no idea how I feel inside! I hate my body!" I told her, at 12, everyone hates their body because it's weird and does gross stuff and smells funny. It'll be better in a couple of years. Also, you're not trans, you're a girl, and you're just weird. So spend some time being a weird girl who does what she wants, and enjoy it. Just because you're not like the other girls, doesn't mean you're a boy. Be a girl the way you want to be a girl. It's fine.
She grew out of it in a couple of months, and now she's just an a-typical girl, who wears her hair cut short and loves glitter eyeshadow.
We need to stop telling kids that every blip on their emotional radar is some kind of syndrome or disorder that requires treatment. Most of the time, they're fine and they'll get over whatever weird shit their going through.
Bingo!
It sadly isn't hyperbolic. There are accounts of parents on twitter/FB celebrating their toddler's transitions. This is why Canada has pushed the use of drugs down to the age of 4.
Forty years from now, when Trudeau is a very old man, he's going to be subject to a lot of lawsuits from people who are furious that the government who enabled their crazy mom's to gaslight them into castration and puberty blockers.
I remember when people were first complaining about this they justified it in terms of parental rights. They argued that teens should not receive medical treatment without their parent's permission. Now it's moved passed that to saying that even if they do have their parent's permission, it should not be allowed. It seems like parental rights were a fig leaf this whole time.
Parents dont have tye "right" to maim their children for life, especiallynwith kids too young to fully understand the ramifications
This comment makes me wonder how many child trans supporting individuals are also opposed to circumcision.
Based on my internet adventures, there is a strong correlation between anti circumcision and pro trans people. Just reflexively anti traditional anything.
There are parental rights and parental responsibilities. Parents have a right to know and consent to medical treatments for their children. Parents also have a responsibility to make informed medical decisions in the best interest of their child.
There's a reasonable argument to be made that enabling your kid's mental illness by permanently altering their bodies when they're too young to make those kinds of decisions, is an abdication of parental responsibility.
...anyone who thinks the rules have been breached sue abortion providers plus those suspected of abetting them.
I've always wanted to have legal standing in something to which I am in no way a party.
You have now been given the power to know what is best for others.
I wish the Atlantic would just like, give me a list of the Undesirables-du-jure. Keeping up with who is a Nazi these days is difficult
Read the DNC twitter feed, that's what the Atlantic does.
The most important question is; does the person support the party, its narrative and its goals?
You've had that power all along. You just have to join BLM.
It is weird seeing destroying Isreal as being a way to cure systemic American racism.
This is how blm proves systemic racism. They put in systems to kill jews. It's a self proving claim
I plan to sue Gov. Abbott for abetting an abortion of a law.

I think there may be some doublespeak going on here. It was probably a drone supplied by Iran to one of their local proxies. It wouldn't be the first time.
In the past, it's been Hezbollah launching from Syria and flying in from Jordan
"The U.S. Postal Inspection Service uses Clearview's facial recognition database of over 3 billion images from arrest photos collected from across social media "to help identify unknown targets in an investigation or locate additional social media accounts for known individuals," according to materials reviewed by Yahoo News.
They're getting arrest photos from social media? That's a little confusing.
I suspect they're scraping photos from social media and checking them against a database of 3 billion arrest photos.
That's about 9 arrest photos for every American, including babies. Or maybe it's about 90 arrest photos for each of the 10% or so of Americans that commit repeated crimes, but that implies an incredible amount of catch-and-release policing.
Perhaps it's 3 million, not billion. Or perhaps they're running 3 billion images collected from social media - NOT arrest photos - against a much smaller database of faces culled from arrest photos. Either way, either the reporter is incompetent or the USPS spokesperson was - and the reporter is still incompetent for not realizing that the numbers were ridiculous.

They say #BlackLivesMatter and then ignore black children being slaughtered in the streets.
They say #StopAsianHate and then discriminate against Asian-Americans in education.
They say #NeverAgain and then support a group that thinks Hitler was right.
I'm sensing a pattern.
Black Lives Matter for Political Purposes Only doesn't have the same ring to it.
Neither does Black Lives Matter Only When Cops Are Involved.
It's part of a pattern I saw long ago. _Every_ thing leftists do will have the opposite effect of something they pretend to be for.
"As part of the iCOP program, postal service employees have been monitoring Americans' social media posts and sharing things they deem suspicious with law enforcement agencies."
Perhaps the best reason to privatize mail delivery. And yet another reason why it will never happen.
It's mostly become a discount marketing service--for other people to send me crap I don't want.
It's particularly annoying when you need to send something to a government agency with a P.O. Box. I don't think private carriers can deliver to a P.O. Box. I don't know if there's a law that says they can't, but if there is, it should be repealed. The first step to privatizing the post office is to stop the government from requiring us to use it when we send documents, etc. to them.
They use P.O. Boxes to make it harder to find the physical location.
I suspect they're just trying to make us use the post office more.
It's like a "buy American" regulation for government.
the IRS uses PO boxes and then changes them every few years with out notifying or providing a forwarding address so they can screw over people who have tax payment plans so that they default their plan and they can come at you again I know this as it happened to me
+
Well, there is a law forbidding competition with first class mail. Seems like there must be some regulation on private carriers delivering to PO boxes. With the delivery agreements with UPS, etc that they have now, I'd think they could make deliveries to PO box addresses work without much difficulty.
The return of Satanic Panic.

Oh how I long for the days when panicky idiots worried about things like scary clowns.
"The new Tennessee law would ban doctors from providing hormone treatments or puberty blockers to anyone under age 18, in addition to prohibiting minors from receiving sex reassignment surgeries."
Other than gender dysmorphia, are there any other medical conditions (such as a hormonal imbalance, for instance) for which the taking of these drugs would be a legitimate treatment?
Why should only "legitimate" treatments (in the eyes of the state) be permitted?
And before the usual trolls come in here to claim "oh, you are in favor of parents torturing or fucking their children????" I will say that there IS a role for state involvement in parental decision-making, and that obvious child abuse qualifies. There is a gray area where reasonable people may disagree - is spanking a form of "child abuse"? - but as libertarians we should be very circumspect on wanting to expand the role of the state in interfering in parenting decisions. If ALL parties involved - the parents, the child, the doctors - consent to gender reassignment surgery, what is the rationale for getting the state involved? Because it's harmful to the kids (in your view)? That is not up to you to decide - that is up to the individuals involved. Taking drugs is harmful in many ways but we all agree here that the state should not forbid you from smoking pot just because it's harmful.
Because it's a life-altering decision? There are lots of life-altering decisions that teenagers make. Should the state be supervising every single one? If you want to make the case that the state should ban gender reassignment surgery for kids, against the wishes of ALL parties involved, then IMO you need a stronger argument than that.
Yeah, your rationalization doesn't actually help your views.
The issue is that small children are easily swayed by parents and peer pressure, and parents can shop for doctors until they find one who agrees. Alternatively, courts have even stepped in to overrule parents on children transitioning. Thus, you don't have "everyone agreeing". You have singular individuals or even children compromised by social pressure.
Given that this is occurring with children as young as preschoolers and toddlers, I believe that it has crossed the line to where the government does need to step in.
I think removing organs from your child unless they’re about to die if not is child abuse.
From the guy who thinks d.c. cops shooting trespassers as being libertarian comes parents mutilating children as being libertarian.
We have rules to prevent underage people (children, minors) from making life-altering decisions all the time. You have to be 18 to get a tattoo, for instance, and that's arguably less permanent than some of these gender treatments (or surgeries!) we are talking about here.
I don't really have a problem with the restriction - it falls in line with other similar rules we have to prevent kids from doing irreparable harm to themselves or others.
What I was asking about is, if there might be some other people who have an actual medical condition, as opposed to a psychological condition, (or parents with Munchausen-by-proxy gender issues) who might be inadvertently caught up by this rule.
It wouldn’t be a good law if it didn’t ensnare someone by mistake.
I doubt it. Although I did have one friend in high school who was already balding and had a five o'clock shadow by lunch time. He might have benefited from slowing down his hormones a bit.
We had one in my Jr high. The kid was short, balding and could grow a full beard. He took a ridiculous amount of bullying for being an undercover cop.
Competent adults should be able to put whatever they want in their bodies, because they are competent adults who are assumed to be capable of informed consent.
Children are not legally able to give informed consent for medical treatment. They're not legally able to give consent for pretty much anything. Also, children around the age of puberty ate not developmentally able to understand what they're asking for.
Parents are legally obligated to make medical decisions for their children that serve the health and safety of their children. Pumping them full of puberty blocking drugs to stop a developmental process necessary for maturation, without an actual MEDICAL need, does not serve their health and safety. In fact, it is very likely harmful to their health and safety. It's dangerous and has serious side effects.
Giving kids with gender dysphoria puberty blockers to change their gender is no different than enabling suicidal ideation or cutting. It lives in the gray area of child abuse, IMO. The appropriate treatment for kids with gender dysphoria is intensive therapy.
Lol. "Feeling low motivation? Feeling tired all the time? Not able to make love like you used to?"
Yes, there are, but it is using them as puberty blockers that is not the legitimate use of those drugs. They were developed to treat other conditions.
FDA is cool now?
No. Mutilating children with drugs that are not safe for the purpose they are being used is uncool. Is human sacrifice of children cool now? If it isn't, I am sure you dumb asses will be defending that before too long.
He just thinks you should be able to cripple kids who fall in the body integrity disorder spectrum.
Any kid that doesn't fit some exaggerated idea of the feminine or the masculine is just a freak whose body doesn't fit their mind and who needs to be transformed into what they really are. They are "tolerant" and believe that gender is "fluid" like that.
That's not what I think, at all.
I guess I need to spell out for our resident 'tard, Jesse.
I think hormone treatments and transitions for kids is grotesque. I was pointing out that drugs having or lacking government approval is not a legitimate criticism, though.
You literally posted a non sequitur and then get mad when I do so. Are you still upset that I exposed you being wrong about JSF yet again yesterday?
His argument had nothing to do with the FDA but the fact that the drugs do alter and change the body. The fact that there are no long term studies on the use of those drugs in relation to kids should be the issue, but you tried turning it into an FDA issue.
You're an idiot.
"Yes, there are, but it is using them as puberty blockers that is not the legitimate use of those drugs."
So who decides what is a legitimate use for drugs? The FDA currently. "Legitimate use" is not a criticism that applies here, unless you are citing a specific authority on what is and is not legitimate.
Jesse, feel free to never respond to me. You didn't expose shit yesterday, you put words in my mouth that we both agree by quoting the same comment that I simply did not say. You never ever engage honestly. I either have to ignore you or clarify that I did not say anything close to the absolutely ridiculous bullshit you try to put in my mouth.
Get a hobby. Get laid. Stop being a mendacious asshole. You just look crazy.
And for anyone interested, here is the ongoing, dumb as fuck argument Jesse has been keeping going for several months now. All over something I simply and factually did not say. Read it yourselves. I link the original comment as well, so you can judge from the very beginning. Spoiler alert: Jesse is full on delusional.

Oh, and I like how you do not apologize for telling everyone I support puberty blockers for kids, but instead transition straight into changing the topic to an old argument.
Number 1 rule in the fascist playbook: Never admit you are wrong, ever. Good job, Jesse.
non sequitur.
Never assume intent where simple stupidity will suffice, especially regarding DOL.

LOL. now you're just straight going to insults with no bearing whatsoever. Good work buddy.
Want to have another JSF discussion while we are at it?
Well what else is one supposed to say to a delusional cultist who follows one around from thread to thread with the same delusions over and over?
On the JSF, I would. Raytheon has a $3 billion minimum contract with regards to the JSF. So what is your point?

Yes, They were ALL created to treat other issues. No one invented a 'puberty blocker'. Part of the issue with them is that they're being prescribed to people who don't have the conditions they were created to address.
I suspect they are also being prescribed in combinations that were never tested or even investigated for safety. Drug interactions are a big problem in medicine, since there is no way to test all the possible pairs of drugs that might happen to be used together in patients with two different conditions. But it seems to me that the problem here is even bigger: several drugs being used together "off-label", that is to achieve an effect that none of the drug manufacturers intended, and that the FDA never approved.
That reminds me of fen-phen in the 1990's: two drugs used together off-label as a diet pill. And it actually worked to achieve long-term weight loss, without the problems of other diet pills, such as the weight loss only being temporary or amphetamine addiction - except that after a few years, patients started dying of heart attacks. In at least 30% of the users, it was damaging the heart much faster than gross obesity does. Most survived with no damage, or not enough to reduce their life span, but that might be because this combination was only available for a few years.
Mixing drugs is dangerous...

It's not a 'conspiracy theory' when they tell you what they're doing.

Everyone who warned about this agenda was dismissed as a 'conspiracy theorist'.

The new Tennessee law would ban doctors from providing hormone treatments or puberty blockers to anyone under age 18, in addition to prohibiting minors from receiving sex reassignment surgeries.
Thank goodness we have legislators in Tennessee who know better than parents how to raise kids.
Now do mask mandates.
He is a fat adult. So there you have to protect him. But if he were a child you can do whatever the fuck you want to him if you're his parent.
What about mask mandates? I've always been opposed to mask mandates.
But this is not a serious question, just a gotcha whataboutism.
Why do you continue to lie about this? You literally went on and on about people not complying with mask orders having to be forced to if they kept refusing to mask up last year.
He goes on and on because he is the most dishonest person on earth. He lies so much that he doesn't even realize he is doing it. I guarantee you that he now thinks he never said any of that. It must be the strangest way to exist, living in some kind of perpetual present where the past is forever rewritten to reflect the needs of the Party.
He is simply too stupid to understand that he's lying.
Last time he denied this I posted about a dozen posts of him doing exactly what he claims he didn't do.
Oh my dear Lord. You are the biggest fucking liar on this entire board. You make shit up out of whole cloth every single time. You argue based on whataboutism and misdirection and all sorts of red herrings every single time.
You literally went on and on about people not complying with mask orders having to be forced to if they kept refusing to mask up last year.
If you are a rude asshole in public (which I am sure you often are), and you also have a lot of friends who are rude assholes in public, and they are continually rude assholes, and they annoy everyone around them, and they keep doing so, over and over again, EVENTUALLY, someone is going to say "that type of rude asshole behavior should be banned by the government". It is not an endorsement of a government ban to OBSERVE what REALITY is. You know this, but you are too much of an asshole to ever admit it.
Show me an 8-year old transgender, and I'll tell you the politics of the mother.
State passes law outlawing parents cutting off their children's limbs.
Chem Jeff; how dare the state tell people how to raise their kids.

If you want to get the state more involved in parenting decisions, then you had better enunciate a limiting principle where the state's actions go too far, otherwise, you are arguing for the state to substitute its authority over that of the parents'.
The limiting principle is not mutilating your kids, which is what hormone therapy does.
So no ear piercings then? No tattoos? Even WITH parental consent?
No tattoos? Even WITH parental consent?
Of course not.
What the fuck are you on, you sociopath.
This should be policy from every tattoo shop in the world, let alone government.
Thank goodness I don't have to go through life with a Pinky and the Brain or Space Jam tattoo .
Now do religious indoctrination.
Sure, teaching children a system of values is not analogous to mutilating their bodies. It is sad that you could be so stupid that you don't understand that and think your point is sensible. Sadly, you really appear to be that stupid.
What if that system of values fucks up their mind for life? One could argue that is more damaging.
"What if that system of values fucks up their mind for life?"
Lefty shits never argue facts; they make up some hypothetical and argue about that.
What if that system of values fucks up their mind for life?
You mean like "we will not tolerate intolerance" as the basis for enabling the delusion of physical and biological reality?
"What if that system of values fucks up their mind for life?"
That's exactly what me and billions of others believe about your woke ideology.
Do you really want to go there?
Values can change without physical changes to ones body. Surgery/drugging kids can not.
Parents treating kids as young as 8 with life altering drugs.
Fuck off.
Do you even know what the rate of kids growing out of transgenderism is? How many regret it?
Fuck off.
You know that quote is a lie, right? There's a link to ABC News right there in the article that says the law says pre-pubescent children for fuck's sake.
cant block puberty in a 17-11/12 year old
so you are okay with teen female genital mutilation then considering its the parents wanting it done and they know whats best for their own child.
Can't we just let the teens go through all of the super expensive surgeries and treatment on their own dollar, then when they get depressed and kill themselves in their mid 20s Pont and laugh at the parents
Or, the teens will kill themselves in a bout of depression because they are forbidden from getting the treatment.
But, given your comment below that if someone votes for Democrats they deserve to starve to death, I doubt that is of any concern to you.
So you are completely unfamiliar with this issue at all. one of the primary takeaways is that incidents of suicide do not improve with transitioning. So you'd rather an ineffective, facial, permanent change to a child instead of mental treatments to actually help the core issues.
interesting.
Nobody is killing themselves because they can't get their tits cut off, you psychotic freak.

New York magazine summarized the key findings from the two studies:
In one study, conducted at a children's hospital in Northern California, among the 117 pediatric SARS-CoV2-positive patients hospitalized between May 10, 2020, and February 10, 2021, the authors concluded that 53 of them (or 45 percent) "were unlikely to be caused by SARS-CoV-2." The reasons for hospital admission for these "unlikely" patients included surgeries, cancer treatment, a psychiatric episode, urologic issues, and various infections such as cellulitis, among other diagnoses. The study also found that 46 (or 39.3 percent) of patients coded as SARS-CoV2 positive were asymptomatic.

"Whether the USPS is actually authorized to undertake such surveillance and reporting is not clear, let alone whether it is doing so in ways respectful of free speech and due process rights."
It's clear enough to anyone who's actually read the Constitution. Not only is the USPS not authorized to undertake such surveillance and reporting, it's not even authorized to exist.
IIRC, the constitution gives the feds the "option" of providing a postal service.
From CATO: "Article 1, Section 8 says that [The Congress shall have the power] to establish Post Offices and Post Roads. ... "
You need to say that while munching dry ramen
Ok, I need more coffee, apparently, because I read that as "while munching dry semen"
Avoid the creamer.
This explains your pillow comment above. You two should go out for coffee.
Your previous behavior is the explanation for the pillow biting comment.
I stand corrected.
+
The constitution authorizes establishing a post office. It does not say Congress _must_ establish a post office. It does not say Congress may ban private companies from competing with the federal post office. And it definitely does not say that the post office can do anything not directly related to delivering the mail.
Yep the post office and the navey are literally the only Gov agencys allowed to exist continuously
"USPS has defended its practices by saying that it’s simply part of keeping postal workers safe."
How about you figure how to deliver the mail first?!
Over the past 5 years, I've lost: 3 credit cards, 1 debit card, 1 HSA card and my wife's Green Card...which took nearly $1,000 and 3 years to get a new one.
The USPS may be the biggest thieves ever to exsist.
They delivered 6 absentee ballots to your house last year. Doesn't that make up for it?
It sounds like RightWired has someone stealing from his mailbox, which is his problem as much as the post office's. But every few years, there's a news report of a post office worker deciding he is overworked and dumping whole bags of mail in a landfill. I don't think that's ever happened with FedEx or UPS.
And I recall one time when several neighbors didn't get their tax refund checks. (This was way back when electronic direct deposit wasn't an option.) The mail carrier was stealing the checks and forging signatures to cash them. The stupid woman didn't realize that investigators would notice all the stolen checks were from one delivery route. IIRC, she stole more than $100,000 before she was caught - when the dollar was worth about ten times as much as today, even though the Johnson-Nixon inflation was beginning to take off. (35.9 cents/gallon for gasoline was considered outrageous, my mother was outraged that a dollar bill would no longer pay for a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread, our house soared from $10K to $26K in five years, but a new Chevy was still under $3,000.)

"The new Tennessee law would ban doctors from providing hormone treatments or puberty blockers to anyone under age 18, in addition to prohibiting minors from receiving sex reassignment surgeries."
I'm reading reports elsewhere that say the law only bans treatments for prepubescent children.
"Tennessee’s version, which goes into effect immediately, is slightly different. Under the new law, doctors would be banned from providing gender-confirming hormone treatment to prepubescent minors. Arkansas’ ban applies to anyone under the age of 18 and also specifically bans doctors from providing gender-confirming surgery.

the postal service's Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP)
Because iWatch was already taken?
https://summit.news/2021/05/19/71-of-french-say-were-full-no-more-immigration/
On April 30, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R–Fla.) introduced a bill "to prohibit funds from being used to implement the Internet Covert Operations Program under the United States Postal Inspection Service." It has attracted nine co-sponsors so far—all Republicans.
Congressional Democrats have been largely silent about the issue.
Yeah, but how many mean tweets from each group?
Congressional Democrats are remaining silent because they've got a pretty good idea what the post office knows about them.
Plus the democrats need the postal service to change out mail in votes
Whether the USPS is actually authorized to undertake such surveillance and reporting is not clear

For those stragglers, in his blog post, Lyndersay noted Edge has “IE mode” built in, “so you can access those legacy Internet Explorer-based websites and applications straight from Microsoft Edge.”
"You can also access those websites whose programmers reluctantly implemented horrible work-arounds to accommodate IE users."
Ah, Edge. The browser that's so good that it requires an obscure elevated console command and a registry edit to uninstall.
Does anyone see the irony in Microsoft essentially requiring an internet browser on all systems with its OS? Something about history rhyming.
Ahhh edge the browser so good Google programmers put in throttles for youtube, Google maps, and others because edge was beating the pants off of chrome
Seriously.... The PR invloved in this poo flinging contest on googles behalf is retarded. Both browsers have the same engine. Chrome bypasses windows security and introduces unnecessary vulnerabilities.
All programs are uninstalled using an elevated console commands. If this cant be uninstalled through control panel, its because microsoft doesnt want you to. When you click that uninstall button, it generally runs msiexec /x blahblah.msi in an elevated context. Thats how windows and linux both work you fucking goober.
There are shitloads of programs that require regedits and manual file system deletions to completely uninstall. There is a whole software sector dedicated to cleaning this shit. Adobe even provides a separate tool to completely uninstall it's programs.
Ah yes, performing radical body-altering medical procedures to indulge the delusions of a mental disorder is "health care". Another angle of that photo, which can be verified based on the graffiti on the wall, appears to show that the object, which the media calls "an unexploded missile," is hollow. [Link]
Also have a very hard time believing that is a real, live explosive munition. In Europe, when they find an unexploded munition from WWII they clear blocks of people and get everyone away from it. Yet in Gaza they have their kids jump on it? Very hard to believe that.
When you consider that the Palistinians are happy to make their children suicide bombers, it gets a bit easier to believe.
It's also remarkably intact for a missile that slammed into the ground, and the metal looks way too thick.
What are the odds that this is part of a Hamas rocket that didn't make it very far?
Pretty damn good, to be honest. These things are created on the fly and, as evidenced by all the friendly fire the past few days, not very reliable. It's the very definition of "spray and pray" ordnance.
All they need to do is spray-paint "Property of Stark Industries" on it for the joke to be complete.
Nothing on Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's blatant racial discrimination?
Lightfoot slams 'overwhelming whiteness' of Chicago press, defends speaking only to reporters of color
Equity doesn't mean white people.
White journalists were told by her press office that they couldn't interview her one-on-one because of their skin color.
This is outrageous! They should have been told that they couldn't interview her one-on-one because of their sexual preference!
I'm just worried that White Journalists are going to contract "that Innsmouth Look."
Plot twist: Lightfoot's wife is white.
Even black lesbians don't want to have anything to do with other POCs in their personal lives.
Jokes on her, black people can't read write or show up on time for a press conference or use the internet! CRT for the win!
That's enough from you Joe Biden.
According to various school systems, math is racist. The main qualification for journalists these days appears to be a complete inability to do arithmetic, so according to these schools blacks ought to qualify.

Is every federal agency a surveillance unit now?
Where have you been the last 20 years? Not only is every federal agency a surveillance unit now, and not only is every state and local agency a surveillance unit, but so is every private company that collects information on the public. What the fuck do you suppose the "Know Your Customer" laws are about? Banks, credit card companies, hospitals, ISPs, social media companies, data tracking firms, grocery stores and Walmart - they're all required to report suspicious activities and the only way to find suspicious activities is to monitor everybody.
An entire technological industry dedicated to data mining and trend analysis in the interest of hoovering up dollars from consooooooomers was created in the late 90s, and no one seriously thought to question at the time that the government might use those resources as some Big Brother-type of capability.
It's interesting how, post-Snowden, the government actually ramped up its surveillance to create a real-life fascistic model.
As an aside, Keith Alexander, the former chief of the NSA, was hired on to Amazon's board of directors a few months ago.
Worse than that, no one ever thought about the effects of the Third Party Doctrine in such a situation. If private companies are vacuuming up every detail about your life, the Third Party Doctrine becomes a trap door out of which the 4th Amendment falls out of the Bill of Rights.
Just think, 15 years ago Democrats were bitching about us outsourcing our torture cells and peacekeeping actions to private mercs.
""It’s interesting how, post-Snowden, the government actually ramped up its surveillance to create a real-life fascistic model.""
I have this theory that Snowden doesn't actually exist. The whole purpose of the Snowden op was to get the temperature of the public on domestic spying in order to see how hard and fast they can bring in more domestic spying.
Biden plagiarizing other people's material again. From the Daily Fail:
"Joe Biden lifted a line from a famous Ronald Reagan speech during his address to Coast Guard graduates, but appeared to flub the joke and got angry when nobody laughed.
Addressing the Coast Guard in his first commencement speech as president, Biden attempted to make a joke about the Navy on Wednesday.
'I can only assume that you'll enjoy educating your family about how the Coastguard is, quote, the hard nucleus around the Navy forms in times of war.'...
Keen observers on social media pointed out that Biden had lifted a line that Ronald Reagan made in 1988 at the Coast Guard commencement speech that year."
It's not like it's the first time Prickly Joe has lashed out at troops for failing to applaud. He's a mean, nasty piece of work and he always has been.
I saw the videos side by side. Really sad.
The White House transcript of the speech was edited to show the cadets laughed at the joke. Not even kidding about that.
If he said "quote" then it's not really plagiarizing; that makes it clear it's not his original material.
They've got to hire someone to do their political "witch-hunting". I guess all those company contracts were getting too much news so now they'll get brave and put a US Agency in charge of their witch-hunts.
Democrats want a government dictation; as-if that was a secret.
Traditional pay TV continues to lose subscribers--1.9 million over the last quarter.
https://www.leichtmanresearch.com/major-pay-tv-providers-lost-about-1895000-subscribers-in-1q-2021
It's interesting that as consumers move more towards steaming, they seem to be moving further and further away from live television. Check these numbers out from the last quarter:
Cable:
Comcast: Lost 491,000 subscribers
Charter: Lost 138,000 subscribers
Cox: Lost 60,000 subscribers
Satellite, etc.
AT&T Premium TV: Lost 620,000 subscribers
Dish TV: Lost 130,000 subscribers
The story has been all about cable and satellite bleeding customers for live streaming services for years, but check out what's happening to some of the biggest live streaming services.
Live Streaming Services:
Hulu + Live TV: Lost 200,000 subscribers
Sling TV: Lost 100,000 subscribers
In the past, if you saw a quarter where cable and satellite lost 1.9 million subscribers, you'd expect to see the live streaming services pick up subscribers--but that doesn't appear to be the case now. People are subscribing directly to things like Discovery+ and YouTube, and they're watching free services like Peacock, Pluto, Tubi, and Xumo.
My understanding is that the total number of cable and satellite subscribers topped out at about 100 million a long time ago. We're down to 78 million now, but we're just getting started on draining their whole business model.
If Disney bought out Hulu thinking they would be the new cable company, they appear to be mistaken at this point. It looks like people are starting to turn their backs on paying for live television entirely.
Meanwhile, new Disney+ subscribers have started petering out. Could it be that people aren't into paying for all the woke shit?
Two things have whacked Disney +. First, nearly everyone who wants them has physical copies of the classic Disney catalogue. So, it's appeal in streaming is much less than it normally is. Second, the one really big thing it had, the one thing that you could only get by buying the service that people really wanted was The Mandalorian. They did untold damage to that brand by firing the MMA chick for being insufficiently woke. More than that, people figured out they could just buy the service for whatever month the new episodes are released, binge watch them, and then save themselves the money the rest of the year. You have to have more than one original show to have a streaming service. It would be as if Netflix only had the Crown and never made any of the numerous other really good shows that keep people's attention.
They're going from woke stuff to woke stuff, too. People who subscribed for Than Mandalorian and WandavVision might have stuck around for The Falcon and Winter Soldier, but that went full-on BLM mighty quick, too. I mean, we're talking about the quarter that includes WandaVision, and that disappointed?!
People originally moved to pay TV, things like HBO, so they could watch stuff at home that they couldn't see on broadcast television. What Disney+ is selling seems to be the same woke thing everyone else is selling. They're all looking for the next Game of Thrones, but in addition to whatever woke aspects there were to that who, it was also tits and monsters. HBO can do that.
Disney is like Turner trying to take on the WWE back in the Attitude Era--while the WWE was raiding the ECW for even more edgy talent. If you're not willing to go where the grown ups live, find another game to play--or do it on Hulu or some other platform. They shouldn't try to dictate terms to the broader market. What do you do if the general public doesn't want to buy the only thing you can bring yourself to sell them?
Start lowering Wall Street's expectations, work on getting those theme parks reopened, and swing for the anotherMulan type movie for China?
The irony is that Disney understood this during the Eisner era--Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures were specifically set up by Disney to show more adult-oriented films, especially during a time period when the products of their cartoon studio were seen as rather lame.
Hulu was supposed to be Disney for adults. Miramax would be Disney for adults. The past is littered with Disney trying to find a way to expand beyond children. Marvel is Disney for adults.
The U.S. is saturated with Disney. They can't sell themselves in China, or what would sell elsewhere in the world, they won't create for fear of being branded wokeless. They've painted themselves into a corner.
They're prisoners of scale and the woke monster that is Hollywood that they helped create. They're more likely to crack the Chinese market with local talent than they are to make adult streaming work at scale without being unwoke.
They just can't do what they need to do.
""They’re all looking for the next Game of Thrones,""
That should be Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. But not for Disney. I think they owned ABC when Sam Rami did Legend of The Seeker. Which was really lame compare to the books.
Somebody really should make "The Silmarillion" someday.
It is too big. You could make a dozen or more long form TV series out of what is in there and the various things Christopher Tolkien published after his dad's death.
So just focus on the War of Wrath or Berien and Luthien, focus on Feanor and his sons . . .
Having more than enough material is a good thing, especially if it's with an author everyone is already familiar with and a book hardly anybody can stand to read.
You need five, ten episode seasons.
Just don't turn it into a kung fu series for Chinese audiences, please.
Feanor and his sons would make a great long form series. So would Numenor. I am told that is what Amazon is doing right now. The Amazon series is going to be the fall of Numenor.
I hadn't heard about that.
Awesome.
The fall of Gondolin.
Dont know how this plays into it but Verizon customers were given free 6mo of Disney+ with cell plan. I'm sure most didn't stay when that ran out.
I jump in and out of services when I'm done with them myself. I usually cancel the service I just subscribed to the day I subscribed so I don't forget. Lots of those Verizon people are cancelling, I'm sure. The days of people subscribing to the same service forever are over.
And, the Disney bundle is free on some Verizon unlimited plans.
This is the only reason I have Disney+. I wouldn't pay for it, and as soon as my free year runs out, I'm canceling.
Disney sucks.
It would be as if Netflix only had the Crown and never made any of the numerous other really good shows that keep people’s attention.
And even then, most of Netflix's original content is utter shit. We piggy-back off of my brother-in-law's subscription, and thank goodness because I wouldn't pay a plug nickel for most of the crap on there.
It's only when they release cool old shit like Under Siege that it's nice to have.
Some of their docs are really good. The one on Son of Sam, the Nazi Guard who became an autoworker in Cleveland, and the one on the Nightstalker were all three excellent. The Witcher is really good as well. The Crown and the Witcher are really the only two original shows that are any good other than the docs, but they are both really good.
Just watched the SOS one. Interesting stuff.
Their miniseries on the establishment of Japan's shogunate is excellent.
That is really good too. I knew nothing about that subject and found it fascinating. Japan really brings the underhanded medieval politics. The real history of Japan makes Game of Thrones seem like ancient Athens by comparison.
The pirate one is great too. Pirates were of course quite libertine, but even "woke", by the standards of their era.
That was a good one too.
Haha. I just watched Under Siege the other night on Netflix. I put it on ironically to annoy my wife, but then we ended up watching the whole thing. I hadn't seen it since watching it repeatedly on my friend's dad's laser disc.
Peak Seagal, peak 90's action flick. Features a rapping Tommy Lee Jones in finger-less gloves as well as a bare pair of 90's mountain top tits. 10/10.
That movie is the fucking tits, and I don't just mean Erika Eleniak's silicone sweethearts.
Television content is crap, and the commercials are enough to drive you insane.
Streaming is pay TV.
I've been waiting for an article on this subject. How can we get them to not spy on us anymore. The postal service has no legal authority to do this and even if they wanted to give them the authority they don't need it. this country is really a shit these days
We need to defund the post office.
I was thinking maybe there should be a "do not send" list for the post office like there's a "do not call" list for telemarketers.
I'm sure there are people out there who want the local grocery store to fill their mailbox with coupons and crap every week, but they should be able to get their favorite crappy ads delivered to them on the cheap at taxpayer expense. I don't want your coupons; I don't want your credit card; I don't want your motorcycle insurance. I want you to stop sending me crap in the mail at taxpayer expense.
grocery stores give you coupons at teh register so that takes that need away. minor detail
Coupons are the most idiotic things ever.

"Can monthly cash payments cut child poverty by nearly half?"
[...]
"ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The check won’t arrive until mid-July, but Katrina Peters already knows what she’ll do with her Child Tax Credit payments. The 20-year-old mother of three has applied to work as a driver with a food delivery app, and the extra cash is earmarked for repairing, registering and insuring her car.
“I just need to make sure it’s 100% and then I can start working and get an income,” Peters said, cradling her 3-week-old son, Armani. “That’s where it starts.”..."
https://www.denverpost.com/2021/05/19/child-poverty-monthly-cash-payments/
How about we dream up some marketing program and find one person who might make suckers buy in?
Children are only poor because their parents try hard but just don't have money. They are never poor because their parents are irresponsible and don't care about themselves much less their children. No, that never happens. So, this money is going to be used for the benefit of the children and bring them out of poverty. It won't be pissed away on drugs, booze, and other irresponsible and selfish things by the parents.
This is what the people behind these sorts of programs actually believe. It is amazing anyone could be that stupid but millions of people seem to really be that stupid.
Including AP 'journalists', who also hope the readers are that stupid.
But I was told food delivery is a gig job, and not allowed.
Poverty is a sign of poor moral character. Sure. Whatever.
The 19th century called, they want their Victorian politics back.
Typical stupid white person who has never met an actual poor person in his life. Money will solve poverty. That is why sixty years on from the great society, poverty is solved right?
God you are fucking stupid. It is contemptable how stupid and uninformed you are.
I didn't say money cures poverty. That is stupid reductionism of the problem. Poverty is caused by a whole lot of things. To blame it all on EITHER just lack of money, OR on lack of moral character, is shameful. Maybe what's needed instead is an approach to poverty that doesn't rely on shaming them, or on coddling them, but on meeting them where they are and trying to understand their unique circumstances and offering a helping hand. Nahh that would never work, not enough scapegoating!
If you knew anything about Victorian politics, you probably wouldn't have made that stupid analogy either.
Most of your cherished prog beliefs were first formed by Victorian era politicians and thinkers.
Parent involvement in a child's development is the quickest way out of poverty. You are simply uneducated.

"Amid surge in anti-LGBTQ legislation, 42% of LGBTQ youth have ‘seriously considered’ suicide in past year, new survey finds"

First, what "surge"?
And then, perhaps folks who have a hard time accepting they are male or female might have some issues other than that which need to be addressed.
Exactly transgenderism doesn't resolve the mental anguish it actually supports it instead of dealing with it
And what percentage of non-lbgtq youths have considered suicide in the last year? It's a pretty useless study that doesn't use a control group, and you might ask what else has been going on in the last year that might cause youths to consider suicide besides a "surge" of "anti-lbgtq" legislation. (I strongly suspect "anti-lgbtq" means "not giving them all the special treatment they demand".)
Yeah, I'm sure legislation that can only be described as 'anti-lgbtq+' by stretching the definition as far as it can go had everything to do with suicidal thoughts and not, say, isolating a bunch of teenagers from their friends and limiting their hobbies to reading and playing video games for a year.
Concidered, but no follow through. Why do we care about these slackers?

Only literal Nazis prohibit people who are legally and mentally children from mutilating their bodies or taking powerful hormones with life-altering consequences.
If a person is grown, they can do whatever the fuck the want with their bodies. Have a pussy installed, take acid every day for a month, have meaningless sex with an endless parade of random strangers. I do not give a fuck. But they can at least wait until they're adults and have to personally deal with any bullshit arising from their choices.
But they can at least wait until they’re adults and have to personally deal with any bullshit arising from their choices.
And even then, there's the ridiculous demands to publicly celebrate their choices or you're "literally" killing them. A lot of troons are absolutely baffled by people who don't go out of their way to acknowledge that they are trans, either because they don't want to get in a pointless argument over someone's personal life, or they just don't give a shit. They get madder at people not giving a shit than they do someone mocking them as a tranny, due to the inherent masochistic tendencies of radical leftists.
Yeah, I get tired of being told that not actively celebrating somebody for whatever thing they want accoladed is the same thing as hate speech. I mean, if a good friend or relative I cared about decided to chop off his dick and get two titties installed, I'd throw 'em a party if it made them happy.
But random trans person? I don't know you. I don't care about you. I'm not obligated to simper and make you feel special. You do you as hard as you can. I'll stay out of your way.
They demand that you validate them because, no matter how many "procedures" they get or how many hormones they take, it's not real. There is no magic pill or procedure that can turn you from a man to a woman or a woman to a man. It'll never be real. You ca get a penis installed, but you'll only ever get half chubs, because it's not a real dick with all the parts it needs to get an erection. You can get a vagina installed, but it'll keep trying to close itself up because it's not a real vagina; it's a wound that wants to heal itself. You can get big old titties, but they'll always feel like cold bags of fluid. BECAUSE THEY'RE COLD BAGS OF FLUID AND NOT ACTUAL TITTIES. They'll always feel wrong, because it's fake. But they think that demanding validation from everyone else will make it real.

The Arizona Audit clown show keeps rolling along.
https://archive.is/2Wy0X
“That the Senate would launch such a grave accusation via Twitter not only before waiting for an answer to your questions, but also before your so called ‘audit’ demonstrates to the world that the Arizona Senate is not acting in good faith, has no intention of learning anything about the November 2020 General Election, but is only interested in feeding the various festering conspiracy theories that fuel the fundraising schemes of those pulling your strings,” they wrote.
Yup, but it's not just a grift, but a very dangerous grift.
Nothing says clean and fair election like refusing to turn over the servers or submit to an audit. That is page one of civics, "the key to a legitimate election is to have as much secrecy as possible and to treat any questioning of an election as an act of treason".
The sad fact is, you are so stupid and so willing to believe anything, you actually believe that. The idea that an election that isn't transparent fails in it's purpose no matter how clean or fair it may be would never occur to you. Such sophisticated thoughts have no place in the empty halls of our tiny mind.
You know what else is on page one of civics class? "The loser in an election should continually cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election so as to undermine the entire process itself and undermine democratic traditions in general. That is how you build a prosperous and stable system of government."
“The loser in an election should continually cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election so as to undermine the entire process itself and undermine democratic traditions in general. That is how you build a prosperous and stable system of government.”
Uh, you do realize that Trump is not pioneering anything new here, right?

Are you talking about the routers? The issue was already investigated.
https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/elections/2021/02/23/maricopa-countys-election-audits-show-2020-votes-counted-correctly/4550644001/
Maricopa County on Tuesday released the results of election audits from two independent auditors it hired to verify that voting machines were not hacked, were not connected to the internet and counted votes properly during the 2020 general election.
The auditors found that the county used certified equipment and software, no malicious hardware was found on voting machines, the machines were not connected to the internet, and the machines were programmed to tabulate ballots accurately, according to a letter from county election directors to the supervisors.
You are so subsumed in repeating one sided narratives...
The judge ruled on the case over a month ago at this point. The Routers are covered by the subpoena and are legal. There are also still missing chain of custody logs that Maricopa has not turned over. Lastly there is both maricopa and Dominion claiming that the auditors can not have administration passwords to the tabulation machines.
It is amazing watching how uninformed you are when all the information is freely available.
The audit is literally being live streamed. They've already uncovered issues like ballot counts on packets not matching the number written on the boxes/bags covering the counts. They are about to begin a deep audit into the adjudicated ballots which is where most of the lawsuits have been set up to stop. Ironically it is the adjudicated ballots that are now under question in both Wisconsin and New Hampshire in their independent audits.
You are just so ignorant and pliable to the state/democrat narrative.
Hi Jesse, let's see you post evidence in support of your claims. I doubt you will present anything because you have nothing.
There are also still missing chain of custody logs that Maricopa has not turned over.
This document states otherwise.
https://www.maricopa.gov/DocumentCenter/View/68971/Final-Technical-Response-Letter-with-Exhibits-5172021
1. Chain-of-custody documentation for the ballots
On April 29, 2021, a Chain of Custody Document with included signed manifests and delivery load
information was delivered to the Senate Liaison, Mr. Ken Bennett. Each manifest and delivery load was
signed by the Senate Liaison, Mr. Ken Bennett on the date that the documents, ballots, and equipment
were accepted by the Senate. On April 30, 2021 Senate Liaison, Mr. Ken Bennett returned the signed
copy of the chain of custody document (Exhibit B).
Lastly there is both maricopa and Dominion claiming that the auditors can not have administration passwords to the tabulation machines.
Maybe it is because they don't want the "auditors" to be manipulating the ballots themselves. Do you have any evidence to demonstrate that the above audit of the voting machines, performed back in February, was invalid in some way?
The audit is literally being live streamed.
All you see are people moving around on a big floor. The viewer cannot tell what anyone is doing in the live stream. This is just a gimmick.
They’ve already uncovered issues like ballot counts on packets not matching the number written on the boxes/bags covering the counts.
OH MY GOD SOMEBODY TRANSPOSED A NUMBER ON A BALLOT BOX! That means the election was totally illegitimate!
See that is the real purpose of this audit. It is to blow up insignificant problems into major catastrophes and cast doubt on the entire thing. The purpose is to support the false narrative that the election was stolen. That is why they went with some shady right-wing firm with no election experience, instead of an independent auditor. That is why they are going after these insane conspiracy theories like trying to find bamboo fiber in ballots because the ballots supposedly came from SE Asia or something.
The purpose is to throw so much sand into the air over the entire process of elections themselves so that, if/when Team Blue wins Arizona again in 2024, the legislature will be emboldened and justified (in their own mind) to just cancel the whole thing and send its own slate of electors to Congress instead, will of the people be damned. That is what is going on.
You are just so ignorant and pliable to the state/democrat narrative.
You are a Team Red shill. You want us all to pretend that this is an "independent audit" but it is being directed by Republicans, employing Republicans, with a Republican CEO that spouted 'stop the steal' conspiracy theories and going to fundraisers with Lin Wood, and we all know that if the tables were turned you would never tolerate an 'audit' being conducted under those circumstances. You only support this because you think it will be weaponized against Team Blue, and in so doing, undermine the entire electoral process itself. Team Red at this point is now actively dangerous to democracy.
Team Red at this point is now actively dangerous to democracy.
Fat Boy's parroting his lefty boos' hysterics again.
Wait... you posted the Maricopa response letter as evidence? LOL.
Jeff, do you know what that response letter actually is? it is maricopa's version of events, that is all.
Do I really need to post the actual judicial ruling explaining what is and isn't covered under subpoena? Maricopa isn't even denying the routers are covered under subpoena, they are arguing handing them over is a security threat.
Why do you continually not understand what you are posting?
You literally posted Maricopa counties narrative as fact while asking for facts.
Let's go through your compaints:
The audit is literally being live streamed.
All you see are people moving around on a big floor. The viewer cannot tell what anyone is doing in the live stream. This is just a gimmick.
See lawsuit in Pennsylvania about GOP election officials being pushed to one side of the counting where they could not oversee counting. You had zero issue with that.
They’ve already uncovered issues like ballot counts on packets not matching the number written on the boxes/bags covering the counts.
OH MY GOD SOMEBODY TRANSPOSED A NUMBER ON A BALLOT BOX! That means the election was totally illegitimate!
LOL. Literally what didn't happened. They are finding bad counts, usually with the counts being higher than the number of ballots, anywhere from 6 to a few dozen on numbers being wrong. The audit site has a spread sheet of all of these counts. I bet you still haven't checked their site. This is also what is happening in the New Hampshire audit. You did know one was going on there too right?
You also have not even mentioned anything in relation to the adjudicated ballots. Weird you ignore things like that completely. You couldn't find a narrative to run with yet?
You do realize one of the biggest issues that has been discussed since November of last year was adjudicated ballots, correct? Something recounts do not audit as they simply rescan. This is the reason why the issue of Pennsylvania destroying their ballot envelopes is such an issue.
I do like your belief in cleanest election ever and no need to ever audit said claims though. Makes you look sane.
We know you are a big government democrat. So it makes sense.
Jeff, do you know what that response letter actually is? it is maricopa’s version of events, that is all.
Are they wrong? Why don't you post some documentation of your own. All you are doing is regurgitating OANN crapola.
You literally posted Maricopa counties narrative as fact while asking for facts.
I posted it as a counterpoint to your completely unsubstantiated list of claims. Again waiting for your list of sources.
That's not even a response to my comment, it is just a lame whataboutism. Thank you for tacitly admitting that the whole schtick of IT'S LIVESTREAMED THEREFORE IT IS TRANSPARENT is just a gimmick to fool the rubes.
OH MY GOD SOMEBODY TRANSPOSED A NUMBER ON A BALLOT BOX! That means the election was totally illegitimate!
LOL. Literally what didn’t happened. They are finding bad counts, usually with the counts being higher than the number of ballots, anywhere from 6 to a few dozen on numbers being wrong.
That's right, an insignificant error. Yes it happens. Yes people are human beings and sometimes make mistakes. And so what your tribe intends to do is to turn all of these mistakes into a grand sweeping narrative of MASSIVE FRAUD to justify ignoring the will of the people should the election not go your way next time.
You also have not even mentioned anything in relation to the adjudicated ballots. Weird you ignore things like that completely. You couldn’t find a narrative to run with yet?
Do you have any EVIDENCE that there is anything wrong with the adjudicated ballots? What am I supposed to comment on exactly?
I do like your belief in cleanest election ever and no need to ever audit said claims though. Makes you look sane.
I never said "cleanest election ever". It was typical in terms of election integrity. Not 100% spotless but not MASSIVE FRAUD either. As most elections tend to go.
And I never said that audits should never be made. If you are going to do an audit, though, do one that is actually neutral and unbiased.
Once again: If the tables were turned, and some audit company that hobnobbed with Democrats were hired to "audit" some election in which Democrats lost a close race, you would be crying foul. You would never accept the terms of this audit as fair were the tables reversed. Why should anyone who isn't a Team Red cultist accept these results? This is a grift machine AT BEST, and an undermining of democracy at worst.
That literally happened in 2000. Remember "selected not elected"?
Even after a 3rd recount... Run by democrats and not following the state recount rules for a 3rd time... was haulted by the supreme court, Democrats refused to give up. So they hired a bunch of lawyers via their PAC groups and along with the Miami Herald they recounted every vote in the state... Adjuticating "intent" as they went... An important factor in Palm Beach county with their Butterfly ballot.
Their clear intention was to prove that Gore actually won and was cheated out of the office.
What happened?
Well, there was a reason Boaz and the Gore team only wanted to recount the 3 heavily democrat counties. After the recount, Bush's lead increased by some 10,000 votes. It seems there was a lot of undercount in the heavily Republican northern part of the state.
Oops.
So, did that stop them from making their claims that the election was stolen? No, it did not. In fact, they still make the claim today, even after that definitive audit.
So spare me with your idiotic talk of threats to democracy by calls to follow the election laws and properly audit the election.
So spare me with your idiotic talk of threats to democracy by calls to follow the election laws and properly audit the election.
Fat Boy must have been about 5 years old when the 2000 election happened.
There was also the election of 1824 and the "corrupt bargain" that made John Quincy Adams President, which later led to Jackson's victory.
The difference being.... This wasn't ancient history. These are the same people. Not the same party.... The exact same people. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, even Joe Biden... They were all there. They were all part of it. Maxine Waters was spewing her bike, saying it was racist voter supression because someone got pulled over for speeding in Miami and there was road construction on one street...
Same people. Same lies... Same 'only heavily Democrat urban areas seem to be unable to report results within hours.
Same tactics. The press even called Florida for Gore before the polls even closed, telling the entire country that this meant that Gore was assured of winning the presidency.... While calling Georgia "too close to call" all night, even though it went 60-40 for Bush.
The head of elections for Palm Beach county even said "we will stay here and keep counting until we find the votes and Al Gore is president."
"Not my president" became a thing championed by the likes of Waters, and was a popular leftist bumper sticker.
In short, everyone you are listening to is a liar.

You're probably confused. If there are currently a lot of monitors with refresh rates of 120, 144 and even 240 Hz, why can't I use these spectacular models on the new consoles? Simply because you will not reach 120 Hz with them.
Here is a list of compatible PS5 monitors: https://www.emchat.net/emchat/2021/5/19/best-4k-monitors-for-ps5-top-5-ps5-gaming-setups-in-2021
The problem lies in the connection that these 4K Monitors for PS5 provide. Most of them offer DisplayPort and HDMI ports, the first of which is responsible for reaching the rate of 144 Hz and leaving HDMI in the classic 60 Hz as always.
So, as the new consoles do not include DisplayPort, the only option will be to connect to screens at 60 Hz, thus losing the ability to play at 120 Hz.
DisplayPort is designed to be used in graphics card computers with this port, so consoles are left with no option available. Yes, there are no options on the market.
