Brickbat: Snow Job

Akron, Ohio, police officer John Turnure resigned after the police department began an investigation of him repeatedly shoving snow into the face of a handcuffed man. Turnure and other officers responded after a woman called 911 complaining that Charles Hicks had threatened her with a knife and she feared for the safety of children in her home. When officers arrived and tried to arrest Hicks, he resisted. While other officers pinned Hicks to the ground and handcuffed him, Turnure held his head and forced snow into his face three times.

It's strange the things they're choosing to hold law enforcement accountable for and the things that get a perfunctory pass. Random.
A dead black man is sort of more important than a few hick white cops snowblowing a handcuffed suspect.
Bad as this is, I couldn’t help thinking of that Frank Zappa song: “Watch out where the huskies go/Don’t eat that yellow snow.”
Thanks. Now that will be running in my head all day.
Want me to replace it with “Baby Shark?”
Qualified immunity; in the other recorded case, the officer only pushed snow into the handcuffed suspect two times, so this has never happened before.
Turnure held his head and forced snow into his face three times.
Then Turnure washed his mouth out with soap.
Was the cop shouting, "Cool off, man"?
"Chill out, Bro".
Somebody never got over 5th grade.
Soon, the woman and the kids will have to deal with the knife wielding guy themselves so that the police don't abuse the poor knife wielding guy during his arrest.
If the cops just take their time getting there. This situation, like many others, will handle itself. You may need a pair of cuffs, or you may need a few bodybags and the Coroner. Either way they all get paid the same.
Distance, dogs, and firearms are just as valuable now as they were in the wild west.
Take the call.
Point and laugh.
Drive away.
Stay fetal.
The new Chicago Police motto under progressive leadership. This will not get better. In the 90s, they had 30,000 applicants. They will be lucky to get a few thousand during their next hiring event. Of those, only a few hundred will have even the basic qualifications. Most will never even show up to interview.
Turnure held his head and forced snow into his face three times.
Just fyi, this was called "childhood" where I grew up.
And cops should be past their childhood.
