Impeachment Evidence Leaves Republicans Cold, Dems Hot, and America Tired
Plus: Dems ask FDA to change abortion pill prescribing rule, Vice targets Clubhouse, and more...

Impeachment managers will wrap up their case against former President Donald Trump today, after spending yesterday showing senators hours of video taken from inside the U.S. Capitol building on January 6. One shows a Capitol police officer screaming while being smashed between two doors as rioters try to rush past him to get inside. Another shows Sen. Mitt Romney (R–Utah) narrowly avoiding a direct encounter with the mob.
But will the footage—while evocative and chilling—make a difference?
Most of it had already been made public, as had clips of Trump's words and conduct that impeachment managers say incited the riot.
And most Republicans in the Senate seem unwilling to budge a smidge on backing their dear leader, even now. They've been calling the impeachment trial at best a waste of time and, at worst, unconstitutional.
Whoa: Eugene Goodman ran into Mitt Romney in the hallway and told him to turn around and get to safety, as the mob entered the building, in new footage.

Whether or not Trump's actions and rhetoric rise to the level of impeachment-worthy conduct, they're still deceitful, dastardly, and deserving of blame for the events that ensued on January 6.
Trump may not have imagined things going down exactly as they did, but his lies still created the conditions that led to them—a situation the Wall Street Journal editorial board sums up nicely in a new editorial about how much responsibility Trump bears in all of this:
Mr. Trump's defenders point out that he also told the audience to make their voices heard "peacefully." And contra Rep. Eric Swalwell, who argued the incitement to attack the Capitol was "premeditated," it's difficult to think Mr. Trump ever envisioned what followed: that instead of merely making a boisterous display, the crowd would riot, assault the police, invade the building, send lawmakers fleeing with gas masks, trash legislative offices, and leave in its wake a dead Capitol officer.
But talk about playing with fire. Mr. Trump told an apocalyptic fable in which American democracy might end on Jan. 6, and some people who believed him acted like it. Once the riot began, Mr. Trump took hours to say anything, a delay his defenders have not satisfactorily explained. Even then he equivocated. Imagine, Rep. Joe Neguse said, if Mr. Trump "had simply gone onto TV, just logged on to Twitter and said 'Stop the Attack,' if he had done so with even half as much force as he said 'Stop the Steal.'"
Republican leaders, had they any backbone or integrity, might at least condemn Trump's encouragement of stolen-election conspiracy theories and role in rallying rioters to action without conceding that this warrants his impeachment.
Instead, however, they've competed with one another to see who can perform the most nonchalance over what happened and denied that they, Trump, or anyone else should have to show some personal responsibility.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R–Calif.) yesterday blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the Capitol riot and suggested that the impeachment trial was part of a continued "coup" attempt by Democrats.
"It's basically the continued coup," says Rep. @DevinNunes of the second impeachment of President Trump.

Who's afraid of Clubhouse? Another day, another media outlet freaking out about the fact that somewhere, somehow, people might be communicating with one another in ways that neither the mainstream press nor government officials can control. Vice takes issue with the fact that some users of the new audio-based chatroom app might utter untrue things without being fact-checked. At this rate, we're not far off from this imaginary headline conjured by podcaster Katie Herzog:

Democrats are pushing to free abortion pills from a rule requiring that they be prescribed in person. A federal judge lifted the medically unfounded requirement toward the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Trump administration fought the deregulatory move in court and the Supreme Court took the administration's side.
Now, Democrats in the House Committee on Oversight and Reform are asking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to intervene.
"Imposing this requirement in the midst of a deadly pandemic—one that has disproportionately impacted communities of color across the United States—needlessly places patients and providers in harm's way, and further entrenches longstanding health inequities," the representatives wrote in a letter to the FDA.

But will the footage—while evocative and chilling—make a difference?
After last summer, flyover America might be footaged out.
Rioting works, if the Establishment backs you.
If the Establishment backs you, its not rioting. Its righteous public support for noble causes.
It should go without saying but I don't support the rioters either. I don't know if the idiots were drawn by the (tacit and stated) support the other side's rioters seemingly got, but that's irrelevant. They're grown people who should know the difference between protest and rioting and the consequences of the latter.
Now, back the comedy.
I think most of them didn't even know they were rioting. Actual footage shows most of them were calm and orderly and probably thought the Capitol building was open to the public for some reason, likely in the same way it was open to the public for the myriad of leftist protests that didn't rise to the level of a riot for years before.
Even if that were true, so what? A sizable minority were violent. They killed a police officer.
"...They killed a police officer."
You.

"Even if that were true, so what? A sizable minority were violent. They killed a police officer," he claimed without evidence.
Since when did you believe that a violent minority implicates a peaceful majority of protesters? You were literally whining about Trump's secret police for most of the last year when police arrested a few people out of the white mobs that ransacked black neighborhoods and burned black children alive in their own homes.
Since when did you believe that a violent minority implicates a peaceful majority of protesters?
Well, as the argument was described to me, the majority of peaceful protestors are only there to provide cover for the violent minority. So they are all culpable in the violence to one degree or another.
At least that is the argument that I heard from the summer.
That might be true on the second or successive nights of rioting when it can reasonably be assumed that violence will erupt AGAIN. But this was a one-off event, and there was no way to know that violence was imminent. So, no the peaceful protesters on Jan 6 are not guilty of anything.
"So, no the peaceful protesters on Jan 6 are not guilty of anything."
Sure, and, as far as I know, no peaceful protestors are being prosecuted. So, talking about how many peaceful protestors there were seems like a diversionary tactic.
That doesn't even make sense when people are leisurely touring the Capitol building (within the velvet ropes, even), far removed from any violence that may be taking place. What cover are they providing to people they can't even hear, much less see or physically assist?
"leisurely touring the Capitol building"
Did you see the impeachment video where a police officer was being crushed in the doors by the mob? Did you see the video of a police officer (who later died from the injuries) being hit on the head with a fire extinguisher?
You are being awfully dismissive of a lot of well-documented violence.
Quit lying, douchebag. We cited the CNN article multiple times that says the police officer who died was not hit by a fire extinguisher and suffered no blunt force trauma at all.
You have been outed as a propagandist.
No it wasn't you liar.
The summer argument is that those who wear black, wear black masks, stop police officers from responding, etc are culbable.
Those things didn't happen in D.C. Very few had masks, different colored clothing, etc.
But you're too dumb to understand any form of logical inference or have a logical debate.
Here, Lying Jeffy exposes himself once again as a leftist.
Yup, you restated the argument that was made dozens of time by CACLLs here in the commentariat.
“a violent minority implicates a peaceful majority of protesters”
I don’t, but that’s not the question being decided in the impeachment trial. The question being decided is whether Trump abused his office badly enough to be barred from running for any Federal office in the future.
Okay, so how about this. As soon as any other government official is even investigated for inciting and financially backing the racial violence against Black Americans for the last years, we can talk about whether Trump disputing the shady execution of the 2020 elections was closer to bailing out white supremacist thugs that burned black children alive in their own homes or closer to the entirety of the Democrat party disputing the 2016 election based on a debunked conspiracy theory even after that conspiracy theory was debunked by their own guy.
"...The question being decided is whether Trump abused his office badly enough to be barred from running for any Federal office in the future..."
No, the question is whether Trump can be impeached for angering enough TDS-addled shits like you.
Ok goebbels
LOL. Almost a solid week since even CNN admitted there is no evidence the officer was killed due to injuries sustained and you continue to run with it.
You're lying as usual.
It isn't like police officers get a pass. Yup, they killed a police officer but nobody gave a shit because they were too busy lauding the rioters.
I happens all over but doesn't get played up in the media because "feels".
Not just isolated incidents either. Oddly a cop can't even commit suicide without it being attributed to the DC riot even though cop suicide is increasingly common.
What we do know is they were drawn to Washington, D.C. on January 6th by Donald J. Trump’s scheduling of a “Stop the Steal” protest rally against counting the electoral college votes just down the street from the Capitol building.
Yeah, protesters were drawn to protest, TDS-addled shit.
You CACLLs go on and on about how Black Lives Matter is culpable for every riot that happened sometime later in the same day as a Black Lives Matter rally, but when rioters go directly from a Trump rally to invading the Capitol building it just happens to be a coincidence.
You seem to have me confused with those voices in your head, TDS-addled shit.
Again, you continue to lie about the fact that BLM leaders were there during the riots, on camera. The BLM leaders organized protests in defense of the looting and rioting. You ignore this because you are an ignorant leftist.
You have come up with a single instance of a BLM leader supporting rioting. In all the hundreds of times I have challenged you to provide more evidence.
We did, you didn't read it. Nancy Rommelmann wrote multiple articles on it, you disingenuous cunt. Ching! Here is your $.50.
Now do the Kavanaugh protests during that vote.
You really are an ignorant person.
If the Establishment backs you, it is mostly peaceful protesting.
CB
Really? Rioting works?
What has rioting gotten people who want police reform?
With antifa, what are their measurable goals one could use to determine that their rioting has worked?
Also, it is Trump who has been in power for the last four years, so the only way you can call the liberals the “Establishment” is if you buy into the conservative victimhood narrative that there is a liberal “Deep State” and conservatives are their poor, helpless victims.
"Really? Rioting works?.."
You misspelled "protesting", TDS-addled shit.

I love her desire to understand. Really.
Like a small child, puzzled by multiplication.
ENB has no desire or intellect to be able to understand.
but his lies still created the conditions that led to them
That word, lies, doesn't mean what you think it means. There is no irrefutable evidence that the election was stolen, but, equally, there is no irrefutable evidence that it WAS NOT STOLEN.
Absent a fully auditable trail for each and every vote one cannot make either assertion with certainty. It amazes me that the President's legal team hasn't picked up on this obvious fact. It does not surprise me that ENB could not understand this concept, however.
Has anyone truly observed a Republican Senator actually moving?

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/17031/hr1-chaotic-elections
H.R.1 packs into one 791-page bill every bad idea about how to run elections and mandates that the states must adopt the very things that made the election of 2020 such a mess. It includes all of the greatest hits of 2020: Mandatory mail ballots, ballots without postmarks, late ballots, voting in precincts where you do not live.... The Senate companion bill, S.1, might be even worse.
In 2020, states such as Nevada and New Jersey sent ballots through the mail to anyone on their registration lists despite having voter rolls full of errors. The Public Interest Legal Foundation documented thousands of ineligible registrations in Nevada alone that received mail ballots. Some were sent to vacant lots, abandoned mines, casinos and even liquor stores.
States also would be blocked by H.R.1 from signature verification procedures.
H.R.1 rigs the system for any lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the law. All lawsuits can only be filed in one court -- federal court in the District of Columbia. And all opposition must be consolidated into one brief with only one attorney being able to argue the merits.
The law is clearly unconstitutional.
Do you think that matters?
How the hell is that even remotely constitutional? Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 states that each state shall appoint electors "in such Manner as the Legislature Thereof May Direct," not Congress.
H.R.1 rigs the system for any lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the law. All lawsuits can only be filed in one court — federal court in the District of Columbia.
Nevermind, I guess they already thought of that. Jesus fucking Christ, what a clown show this country has become.
I'm surprised they didn't go for the one line version, "All future delegates sent by the states must vote for the Democrat". It's what they really want. Uncontested single party rule. Like the CCP.
So, by drafting a law explicitly codifying all of the questionable election shit, the mask is officially off, right?
Imagine a mayor saying "There is no Antifa. These riots and the associated destruction were just BLM protests." and then turning around and declaring Feb. 11th Antifa Day.
“So, by drafting a law explicitly codifying all of the questionable election shit, the mask is officially off, right?”
Only if you’re willing to say the emperor has no clothes. Reason’s not there yet.

In this article, we aim to develop a political economy of mass hysteria. Using the background of COVID-19, we study past mass hysteria. Negative information which is spread through mass media repetitively can affect public health negatively in the form of nocebo effects and mass hysteria. We argue that mass and digital media in connection with the state may have had adverse consequences during the COVID-19 crisis. The resulting collective hysteria may have contributed to policy errors by governments not in line with health recommendations. While mass hysteria can occur in societies with a minimal state, we show that there exist certain self-corrective mechanisms and limits to the harm inflicted, such as sacrosanct private property rights. However, mass hysteria can be exacerbated and self-reinforcing when the negative information comes from an authoritative source, when the media are politicized, and social networks make the negative information omnipresent. We conclude that the negative long-term effects of mass hysteria are exacerbated by the size of the state.
While mass hysteria can occur in societies with a minimal state, we show that there exist certain self-corrective mechanisms and limits to the harm inflicted, such as sacrosanct private property rights.
Moreover, you cannot correct the mass hysteria issues in a minimal state without specifically destroying the self-corrective mechanisms and committing the other mass hysteria efforts outlined.
Interesting. Have to read the rest of this later.
Whether or not Trump's actions and rhetoric rise to the level of impeachment-worthy conduct, they're still deceitful, dastardly, and deserving of blame for the events that ensued on January 6.
Thou shalt not impugn election integrity... this time.

Trump: "We won it by a landslide" <-- There is no way this can be credibly construed as "impugn[ing] election integrity".
Trump: "Mike Pence didn't have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution" <-- Nor this.
Is anyone arguing that Trump didn't impugn the integrity of the election he lost? Because he even impugned the integrity of the election he won.
Again, the Republican Party has lost its sense of personal responsibility; I blame Trump and all the impugning he's responsible for.
this time.... but these exact same tactics used (too many to even list) all those other times by Democratic politicians was A-Okay. As the most RECENT example when Democrats called for 'censoship' of the sitting president showing, "the *courage* to do what should (and did) get done to protect our 'democracy' (well at least they're smart enough not to call it the a Constitutional USA). I hear Hillary "won it by a landslide" too but Russian Aliens beamed down from space and zombied voters brains with Facebook Ads.

Related to this, watching Joss Whedon and Marilyn Manson get dunked on right now has been incredible, particularly because their stuff was pimped for the precise reason that the entertainment industry saw it as a way to stick it to religious conservatives.

All part of the purge.
When W. Chambers renounced his communism in the 30s, afters years of fixed loyalty to the party, he was often asked why.
He replied by citing what an old comrade, an original Bolshevik, once said when was asked the same question after renouncing his own communism:
“ I heard the screams.”
Those screams evolved and spread from the purge-communism qua Stalinism. Old Joe knew what he was doing perfecting the purge.
First he had his buddy Yagoda then his buddy Yezhov run the GPU. Those two sequentially murdered, tortured or exiled everybody and their brother. Millions.
All in the name of the people’s cause. But old Joe took no chances, He thanked his two colleagues for their service, and then had them shot, following their public “confessions,” of course,
Our own passive/aggressive purge unfolds before our eyes, as you allude to. And it’s all in the name of the woke apparatus, courtesy of the new wave apparatchiks.

Black separatism is a response to white supremacy and white nationalism; it has not, however, received the same mainstream attention as white nationalism. Nor do Black separatists have the overwhelming share of racially motivated violence attributed to their overall goals of separation. Yes, some Black nationalists have committed violence against Jewish communities, but those are fueled by antisemitism, not separatism. Additionally, Black separatism is rooted in valid concerns about how federal and state institutions treat Black people.

In an impeachment trial, the Senators are supposed to listen to the evidence and make an honest assessment of the facts and law. They take and oath to do that and are required to sit though the trial quietly and without distractions. They are not there to represent their constituents, who do not have to sit though all the argument and evidence.
If the presiding officer won't do so, why should anybody else?
In an impeachment trial, the Senators are supposed to listen to the evidence and make an honest assessment of the facts and law.

Why Are the Feds Hiding Brian Sicknick's Medical Report?
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/392615.php#392615
I have a theory: they're hiding it because the medical report says he died of a stroke, and suffered no injuries at all (that is, the stroke was not caused by the riots), and the feds are hiding this fact until their Democrat allies have their show trial for Trump.
Hey, if just reading bad words is violence, then seeing mean people must be accepted as deadly assault.
Thanks for posting. Reason repeats this lie every day.
I saw a video of someone tossing a fire extinguisher at a crowd that included some cops. But it did not cause anyone to fall down as the impact was not very direct. Maybe that video got conflated into the 'Sicknick bludgeoned with a fire extinguisher' rumor.
https://mises.org/wire/troop-deployments-washington-are-disaster-waiting-happen
Forty years later, the Cleveland Plain Dealer published an investigation of the Kent State shooting based on new analyses of audio recordings from the scene. The Plain Dealer concluded that an FBI informant who was photographing student protestors fired four shots from his .38-caliber revolver after students began threatening him. That gunfire started barely a minute before the Ohio National Guard opened fire. Gunshots from the FBI informant apparently spooked guard commanders into believing they were taking sniper fire, spurring the order to shoot students. The informant denied having fired, but witnesses testified differently. (The FBI hustled the informant from the scene and he later became an undercover narcotics cop in Washington, DC.) Though there is no evidence that the FBI sought to provoke carnage at Kent State, FBI agents involved in COINTELPRO (the Counterintelligence Program) in the 1960s and 1970s boasted of “false flag” operations which provoked killings.
If some malicious group wanted to plunge this nation into chaos and fear, National Guard troops at a checkpoint would be an easy target—at least for the first moments after they were fired upon (most of the troops do not have ammo magazines in their rifles). The sweeping reaction to January 6 might be far surpassed if troops are gunned down regardless of whether the culprits were right-wing extremists, Antifa, or foreign infiltrators. An attack on the troops would likely perpetuate the military occupation and potentially spur Biden to declare martial law.

More accurate than CNN
“Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for YOUR sake that we fortified this election. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Trump would come back! Yes, Trump would come back! Surely, comrades,” cried Squealer almost pleadingly.
Yes, including many commenters here in the commentariat.
And some of the commentators think water is HO2.
You got me. I did make that typo once. Ha ha! I admit it.
Republican leaders, had they any backbone or integrity, might at least condemn Trump's encouragement of stolen-election conspiracy theories...
Look, I don't know the election was "stolen" and, in fact, really doubt it was. I can't stand Trump almost as much as I can't stand Biden.
[Now that my throat is cleared]
I'm also not pretending so hard that there's no possibility that I'm going to go fucking ape on the very notion that it might have happened. This is next level creepy hive-mind Overton window moving.
The amount of people going ape at the suggestion after 4 years of election interference talk from the same people is quite something. Did you read the Time Magazine article Fist? I mean it's Time but they basically outline how a "Cabal" of forces protected Democracy from orange man in ways that far surpassed what they accused the Donald and tHE rUSSiaNs of doing last time around.
I did read the Time article. It's a lot of the same thing that they do every election, both sides, just a lot more coordinated. The only thing I saw in it that seemed legally sketchy was the way election laws had been changed for the pandemic, but what do I know.
And I might be a little more okay with this concerted back-turning of the conspiracy theories if we all didn't, yes, just go through four years of the very same thing. This isn't a discussion about the physics of whether jet fuel can melt steel. This is a discussion about hyper-partisans possibly doing what hyper-partisans try to do every election: game it, rig it, and generally getting around letting the voting pubic have its way.
I'm all for faith in the system but ffs, after the year we all just had, why are we incensed others don't share it? We've been lied to by our leaders and their experts over and over. I don't really get why we're going so hard at this thing.
Fist, here is the difference I see between 2016 Trump-Russia and 2020 MASSIVE FRAUD.
As of 2017, there was actually a good reason to believe that there was a Trump-Russia connection. The FBI DID have an ongoing investigation into the matter. There WAS an actual meeting between Trump Jr. and some shady Russians with the explicit purpose of getting dirt on Hillary. There WAS documented collaboration between Manafort and the Russian government.
There WERE national security "experts" who were saying some very scary things, and who are we to disbelieve that? We don't read the classified intel, they do. These are all facts that nobody denies. YES there were some irresponsible people who overhyped the Trump-Russia connections and were saying inflammatory things about Trump being frogmarched to prison or some such nonsense. But look at what happened after the Mueller report finally came out. The Trump-Russia talk evaporated because there was the documented evidence and the thorough investigation that the links between Trump and Russia were more ethereal than real. Other than the bitter-enders (and there will always be a few bitter-enders), everyone moved on. The belief in the Trump-Russian collusion claim was based more on what the evidence said than on what particular people were saying about it.
By contrast, with the MASSIVE FRAUD stuff, even after documented evidence kept pouring out that there was no MASSIVE FRAUD, that Trump's claims about fraud were not supported by the evidence, it did not stop the belief in the conspiracy, it only intensified it. The belief in the MASSIVE FRAUD conspiracy was not chiefly based on evidence, it was based on what people were SAYING about it, most notably Trump as well as right-wing media leaders. If Trump and Limbaugh and Hannity were all saying "there's massive fraud!" then what courts and election officials and thorough investigations said didn't matter - all that meant is that the judges are corrupt, the officials are corrupt, and the investigations aren't thorough enough! We need more audits!
So on one hand, you have a sketchy claim that was ultimately not supported by the evidence, and as the evidence piled up against the claim, belief in the claim evaporated.
But on the other hand, you have a sketchy claim that was not supported by the evidence, and as the evidence piled up against the claim, belief in the claim only became more entrenched and intense until we get to the point now, when people STILL believe in the claim.
The former is how normal inquiry works. You have a claim, you collect evidence, sometimes the evidence validates the claim, sometimes it doesn't, you accept the judgment of the weight of the evidence, and move on. The latter is how a conspiracy theory works. As each new piece of evidence comes along, the claim is adjusted, the goalposts are shifted, in order to maintain belief in the claim, until what's left is nothing but pure faith in unfalsifiable claims.
"As of 2017, there was actually a good reason to believe that there was a Trump-Russia connection. The FBI DID have an ongoing investigation into the matter. "
Such a legit investigation they had to lie on FISA warrants, a court not known for turning down warrants.
"There WERE national security “experts” who were saying some very scary things, and who are we to disbelieve that?"
Somebody intelligent maybe?
"We don’t read the classified intel, they do"
And, when UNDER OATH --- they all said there was nothing there.
"The Trump-Russia talk evaporated"
Are you fucking high?
Isn’t it funny the person that posted that, still claims he’s not a lefty?
And the proof you are of the left is here.
Could this be considered Jeffsplaining? I'm offended by the pretense.
Did YOU read the article? Other than that one single sentence from the article that was cut and pasted all over right-wing Twitter?
The "shadowy cabal" did things like advise local Boards of Elections where to put ballot drop boxes, and help publicize to people how to vote by mail. Not exactly cloak-and-dagger stuff.
What specifically from that article did you find most disturbing?
And by the way, here is the article:
https://time.com/5936036/secret-2020-election-campaign/
What did you find in that article that was so egregious?
The poll workers were picked by the establishment, and then rules were established to not be able to watch them.
They unconstitutionally changed the voting laws, pre-covid, to allow for mail-in ballot fraud.
But you know this, you read it. And nothing will change your mind. The orange man was bad. So now the working class must suffer at the hands of the establishment.
I hope you like watching families lose their homes because this is what you voted for. No refunds.
The poll workers were picked by the establishment, and then rules were established to not be able to watch them.
The article says nothing of the sort. This is what you imagine it says.
They unconstitutionally changed the voting laws, pre-covid, to allow for mail-in ballot fraud.
That has nothing to do with what the people in this article did. The "shadowy cabal" did not and does not have the power to change election laws.
Thanks, Squealer.
They literally said they were working with politicians and groups to sue to change the laws dummy. You didn't read the article.
Do not assume jeff is capable of knowing much.
"They unconstitutionally changed the voting laws..."
Is this referring to the Electors Clause? Because the government body that decides such cases did not make a decision on the matter. Which means you are stating your personal opinion about the unconstitutionality as if it were officially decided.
In fact, Texas, the very state whose Attorney General Paxton brought the suit to the Supreme Court, had its own non-legislative changes to its election process.
They also didn't make a decision on if there was fraud, but you dismiss all the cases as if they had.
No, other courts dismissed the other fraud cases. What, like 60 of them?
"cabal" was THEIR word, you fat sack of shit.

One of the many reasons Swalwell was a ridiculous choice for impeachment manager.
He’s talking about threats to officials.. but when Susan Collins and her staff got violent rape threats during the Kavanaugh confirmation he tweeted “boo hoo” and “where are you sleeping?”
"it's difficult to think Mr. Trump ever envisioned what followed:"
Even more difficult to envision what started even before he finished.
Enough with the time travel.
This is a completely ridiculous take from Team Red.
We are supposed to believe that Trump couldn't have incited the riot because the riot started before Trump finished talking?
You know, it is possible for both claims to be true:
1. That Trump incited the riot
2. That some people did not wait for his speech to end to begin the riot
It's not an either/or thing you know.
Rabble rabble rabble...
The most damning acts on Trump's part wasn't what he said at the rally. The most damning acts were scheduling the rally in the first place, and all the lies he told in the two months leading up to it.
Dee proposes a first amendment pause during all future counting of electors.
Where in the First Amendment does it say it's cool to commit violence and kill people?
Where has it ever said that the First Amendment protects a Federal office holder from impeachment?
Don't ever pretend again that you believe in natural rights, you lefty cunt.
I don’t believe rights are natural. That was a philosophical attempt to tie rights into religion.
Rights are man-made constructs and hard to come by.
You can grandstand all you want, but the simple fact is the First Amendment is not a standard for impeachment. The lower standard of abuse of office is the bar.
I don’t believe rights are natural.
Troll trolls trolls. News at 11.
Yeah! Damn him for saying what he believes! He cannot do that! Not in a free country where free speech is sacrosanct! Because speech given even months prior to an event may still be the catalyst for violence!
Two months of repeated big lies is definitely a stronger catalyst than just one day's worth of lies.

Not at all. They have shown that they were incited to riot before Jan 6.
Which means Trump's speech had nothing to do with it.
But you know this, you don't care. You're a hateful loser that's going to enjoy watching the establishment destroy the working class because you're dead inside.
No refunds.
Face it. Molly and her comrades have had a single purpose for the past 4 years: unelect Trump. Even after he left office, they can't stop.
The singular focus on Trumps speech is a R talking point meant to ignore all that he said and did before that day.
lol - so since you cannot possibly prove incitement based upon his January 6th speech, it must be due to prior speaking. Goalposts moved.
No. This has always been about the entire time after the election (and some before). Those who focus on Jan 6 speech do it because they can not defend the rest of this actions.

I'm curious how de-escalation training for cops is going to work. Right now their training stresses zero tolerance for anything that could compromise officer safety, and zero tolerance for non-compliance. The latter means they are expected to escalate the moment someone doesn't obey. Any de-escalation training is going to go against the very core of how they operate.
Yeah I think "de-escalation training" is just empty words put out by police departments to try to fool people that they are "doing something" about all of the bad apples in their departments.

And the primary argument impeachment advocates are making against Trump is that he "failed to protect us," meaning he failed to "protect" them, the politicians. This whole exercise is about the well-being of politicians, whose "pain" they then attempt to transfer onto the public
No. That is one argument. The primary argument is he spent months whipping his supporters into a frenzy with lies, encouraged the violent ones, and then pointed them all at the capital.

Electric cars will double world power consumption
https://wretchard.com/electric-cars-will-double-world-power-consumption/
Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Tuesday that electricity consumption will double if the world’s car fleets are electrified, increasing the need to expand nuclear, solar, geothermal and wind energy generating sources.
Never thought about it, but yeah. I mean, duh. Replacing gasoline with electricity means A LOT more electricity.
“Never thought about it”
No shit?
They needed to start the process for building the necessary nuclear power plants back in 2010 if they wanted to meet California's 2035 guidelines.
And even the other infrastructure right now can't handle it. If they want to meet those goals their going to have to embark on one of the biggest powergrid upgrades ever, and they need to start yesterday.
If one was uncharitable one would think that these environmental goals and treaties are actually just empty signaling for the purpose of grabbing extra powers, and they don't actually intend to do jack.
And don’t forget that all your cooking, and home and water heating, will have to be electric as well.
And since it’s a tenet of the Left that nuclear is bad, and there’s not much more to be gotten out of hydro and geothermal, it’s all going to fall on solar and wind.
Good luck with that.
yeah, they are already talking about new construction only having electric appliances. even though anyone who buys a house in California with an electric stove rips it out and puts in a giant Viking gas stove. and even though natural gas is less polluting than electricity.
Iran has openly violated Obama's unconstitutional nuclear deal by producing uranium metal right in front of IAEA inspectors.
"Iran has produced a material that is banned under the 2015 nuclear accords and could be used to form the core of a nuclear weapon, as it seeks to step up pressure on the Biden administration to lift economic sanctions on Tehran."
https://www.wsj.com/articles/iran-has-started-producing-uranium-metal-in-violation-of-2015-accords-iaea-says-11612981889?
Biden has killed the sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia and the UAE and Biden reimposed tariffs on the UAE that the Trump administration rescinded after they normalized relations with Israel.
Trump did all of this to create an alliance to resist Iranian aggression in the region, so that the US could extricate itself, and our allies could defend themselves without our participation. Biden undid all of that because he plans to appease Iran, because he plans to deal with them directly, or because he's stupid.
Biden said last week that he would not lift sanctions unless Tehran unilaterally stopped enriching uranium. Now that Iran is forcing the issue, we'll get to see what the Biden administration actually does.
When Trump refused to lift sanctions, the Iranians tried to break the resolve of the Europeans to support the sanctions by trying to provoke the US to attack them. They seized other countries' oil tankers as they traveled through the Strait of Hormuz (the only access between the Persian Gulf and the ocean--and Trump did nothing. The Iranians then tried to provoke the US into attacking them by targeting Saudi oil production facilities, and again, Trump did nothing. Once the Iranians targeted Americans, Trump retaliated against the general who ordered the attack, but the rest of the world's support for the sanctions didn't disappear over that.
Now they want to see what the Biden administration is made of, and we should all be concerned--regardless of whether the Biden administration proves to be appeasers or neocon warmongers. Either approach courts disaster. Allowing Iran to enrich their own uranium probably ends in war, and working so hard to undermine Saudi Arabia's and the UAE's ability to defend themselves suggests Biden intends to handle any wars in the region alone.
Also note that the multistage, hard fuel rocket that Iran used to successfully launch a satellite into orbit a week ago has an estimated range of 3,100 miles--far enough to hit any of our allies in the EU or the UK. Now that Iran is openly flaunting Obama's agreement until our European allies and/or the Biden administration capitulate on sanctions, the status quo is untenable. We needed Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and all of Iran's other enemies in the region to be able to stand on their own. Now this is our fight.
Brain-Dead Biden's obvious mental deficiencies and weakness in the face of China, Iran, NK, Russia and others will embolden them, and get us into a war.
Normalized Israel-Arab relations is the last thing on earth the Western elite want. A peaceful middle-east with Arab money and Israeli technological acumen is a real threat to Western power centers like the Davos crowd.
Better to keep them divided using the Persian Mullahs and their Hezbollah proxies to keep stirring the pot in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
They don't like competition.
They want the argument to be about whether the U.S. should go to war--and those should be the only options.
The neocon dream is for the United States to be the guarantor of the world security.
Ken is there a book or blog that influenced your take on Trump/Iran/Saudi foreign policy? I've seen this take from you a number of times before and it feels very plausible/true to me. I would like to know more.
I read from all kinds of different outlets, and I read people who disagree with me.
The part about how Trump's actions were being interpreted on the world stage is something I've read from a number of sources--and they all more or less agreed on Trump's actions and intent. It's just that most of the people who were writing about it were writing about it with alarm because they were neocons. I'm talking about this part:
1) Iran seized oil tankers, and Trump did nothing.
2) Iran targeted Saudi oil production facilities; Trump did nothing.
3) Iran targeted Americans, and Trump retaliated.
4) Turkey invaded Kurdistan, and Trump did nothing.
Conclusion: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, the UAE, and others in the region became convinced that the United States would not defend them against Iran unless the Iranians targeted Americans. This is what Trump meant by "America First". Trump simply refused to be the guarantor of security in the Middle East. However, he heavily encouraged them to buy American military hardware from American defense contractors--so they could defend themselves without us. This was why they started making nice with Israel, too--to start a mutual defense alliance against Iran.
Just keeping track of the facts, it's hard to argue against that being the case or what happened and why. And the fact that other people who write about foreign policy also saw this just underscores the point. It's not something that spilled over into the public discourse or mainstream news, but the mainstream was mostly interested in portraying Trump as a warmonger. They would hardly even mention that Trump had signed a peace deal with the Taliban, much less that he was bringing peace between Arabs and Israel in an attempt to extricate the U.S. from being responsible for security in the Middle East.
If you're looking for a place where there are some knowledgeable people writing about foreign policy, foreignpolicydotcom is a good place. Before the New York Review of Books became so horribly anti-Trump, they had a lot of good foreign policy articles. You would get scholar's take on a number of books about, say, Syria, and he or she would pick the books apart as to what they were getting right and wrong, which isn't to say that the academic was never wrong. Sometimes the author of the book would write a response to the criticism.
You're not about to get a lot of academically legitimate writing on foreign policy from a libertarian and capitalist perspective because there simply aren't a lot of libertarian capitalists out there writing about foreign policy from inside the establishment. Oh, and because Justin Raimondo is dead. Even with Justin Raimondo, you had to take his perspective and his writing with a grain of salt. Journalists pushing their own perspectives to a general audience via the mainstream media as if they were facts is a serious problem, but then some of the best takedowns of communism ever written were fictional accounts written by Orwell, a committed socialist.
When you read anti-Trump neocons citing the same facts I did above about Trump's America First policies in the Middle East, and they're also cited in more or the less the same way by all the pragmatists you read, they're not trying to willfully make a general audience believe what they want to influence the outcome of an election, to get rid of Trump, etc. They're genuinely arguing with others in foreign policy circles about what should be done and why.
I found Jeane Kirkpatrick's famous article when I was a kid, and when we ended up winning the Cold War the way we did, and Pinochet held a referendum on his own rule and respected the results and stepped down when he lost--more or less the way Jeane Kirkpatrick predicted authoritarians would and more or less for the reasons she predicted, I thought that was amazing and impressive.
I haven't found any one person like that since, but then the policy apparatus has largely forgotten the lessons Kirkpatrick and the Reagan administration taught us--about how we won the Cold War and why.
The present always seems inevitable in retrospect, but things are only the way they are because of the people who made the choices they made. The future under Biden isn't the same future we would have had with Trump, and people get invested in that. You can't really bank on any writer or publication to give us the truth. You have to go hunt for it yourself--and share it with other intelligent and knowledgeable people in a place like this, so they can criticize your ideas, and you can improve them that way. Make sure you share them here. I hope to learn from you.

All (or nearly all) politicians lie, but those on the left take the art form to a new level. To understand why requires examining the mind of the progressive.
After the Capitol breach on January 6, a progressive on Facebook said of conservatives, “We’re going to drag them into the 21st century kicking and screaming if we have to.” The Left envisions a socialist utopia, the inevitable slope of human progress. Their role is to bring this about by any means necessary…and to run things, of course. Truth is a fuzzy concept, only to be bent and twisted to serve the state. Justice does not apply to the individual, but instead becomes an arbitrary concept used to advance the state under cover of the “common good” or “social justice.”
Progressives tend to deny objective truth yet hold the belief that central planners know what’s best for the rest of us. But how can they know without the existence of truth? Orwell referred to such holding of two contradictory ideas at the same time as “doublethink.” Another example is the notion that political power ought to be concentrated and wealth dispersed. Democracy is yet a third example: the people are seen as ignorant rubes but can be relied on to choose omniscient and caring rulers. Democracy was as feared as monarchy by the founders, another reason why the Left is tearing down statues and obliterating history.
“The people will believe what the media tell them they believe.”
~ George Orwell
What exactly happened in Washington, DC on January 6?
Whenever a major event like this takes place that attracts national attention, I go through a process: What can be proven with minimal effort and a high degree of certainty? What is highly suspicious, but harder to prove? Who benefits? Who is willing to bend the truth to promote their agenda? (The study of history follows a similar process.)
Did President Trump incite a riot? This should be the easiest question to answer, yet received the least scrutiny. The media simply repeated the accusation over and over with little evidence until it became accepted as truth.
In the initial rush to judgment, how many people actually took the time to listen to Trump’s speech? Ann Althouse, an emerita professor of University of Wisconsin Law School, read the full transcript and listed the seven most violence-inciting statements. Ranked #1:
Together we are determined to defend and preserve government of the people, by the people and for the people.
Trump mentioned the Capitol just three times in a speech that lasted an hour and thirteen minutes, including:
I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.
Is this why Trump’s allegedly incendiary tweets were so quickly erased? Once the Capitol trespassers went home, why not put the incriminating evidence back up for all to see?
Other questions are more difficult to answer with hard proof. Was the election stolen? Was the Capitol breach a false flag operation? There is plenty of evidence in support, but the left media has no interest in following leads that don’t fit their narrative. Standard practice is to either dismiss promoters of such theories as conspiracy nuts or repeat the lie that the claims have been disproven.
During his speech at The Ellipse in DC, Trump spent a good half hour going over his allegations of election fraud and unlawful behavior from states in their rush to set up mail-in voting. My father is a constitutional expert (five years a regular on a weekly radio show on the subject). After countless hours of research, he felt the Trump legal team had a strong case, especially regarding Pennsylvania Act 77’s conflict with the Pennsylvania Constitution.
These claims never saw the light of day, consumed by the political swamp. If the Democrats were so certain there was no impropriety, why not give Trump’s baseless charges a hearing? The last opportunity for Republicans to air their grievances was at the election certification on January 6, conveniently interrupted by the mayhem in the Capitol that day.
“Applying the classic legal question ‘cui bono?’ (‘who benefits?’), it is clear that Democrats, anti-Trump establishment Republicans, the leftist media, and TDS-sufferers all are victorious,” observed Lew Rockwell.
In The Road Less Traveled, author Scott Peck claimed that mental illness consists of “an interlocking system of lies we have been told and lies we have told ourselves.” As those on the political left become further empowered and unhinged from reality, they increasingly make Freudian slips, accidentally revealing their methods and intentions. After the events of January 6, president-elect Biden accused Trump’s acolytes of the Big Lie over election fraud, even citing Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels. “The degree to which [a lie] becomes corrosive is in direct proportion to the number of people who say it,” Biden explained.
Psychological projection is the Big Reveal.
“We know where you are. We know where you've been. We can more or less know what you're thinking about.”
~ Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, 2001–11
In the lead-up to the election, Facebook and Twitter censored conservative users, forcing them to leave in droves for alternative platforms like Parler. According to CNN Business, “The platform became the most downloaded app on the weekend of November 8—the day major media outlets called the election for Joe Biden.” A month later Parler had 2.3 million active users which exploded to 15 million after the Capitol breach. (Twitter reported 187 million daily active users as of September 30.)
Twitter initially put Trump’s account in the penalty box for twelve hours but two days later banned him permanently. That weekend brought a wave of purges from social media companies in which Twitter suspended seventy thousand “far-right” accounts. Parler shot to #1 in Apple’s App Store on Saturday but by Sunday evening had been kicked off the Apple and Android (owned by Google) platforms. Meanwhile, Amazon suspended its cloud hosting services, effectively turning out the lights.
Oh my God! Someone on Facebook said something mean about conservatives, therefore, ALL PROGRESSIVES ARE EVIL!!!!!!!!!!
All of them are, but not for mean comments.
"ALL PROGRESSIVES ARE EVIL!!!!!!!!!!"
I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.
Sure. Just like all Trump voters are racists. Whatevs.
And just like that the blind squirrel is back to wandering around in traffic.
"...Whatevs."
Try LOL next time; maybe they'll let you try the 7th grade next year.
I will give you this. The subset of Progressives who are not evil are all stupid.
chemtard simping for his lefty boos again.
Progressives think Facebook is evil because it doesn't crack down hard enough on conservatives.
Democrats, "See what those unarmed people 'pushing' did!".
Republicans, "Is President Trump in ANY of these videos?"
Well; lets put a man on trial with the most unprecedented process of accusation - impeachment tried at the most extreme court of congress and try and support it with evidence of what OTHERS did.
Democrats have really fallen off their rocking chairs. They've become 21st Century National Witch-Hunters. Left-Wing Extremists and Radicals all over the place.
Considering what happened on Jan. 6, we can discuss: Is it better for people to fear their government or the government to fear the people?
Which one is more indicative of a free society?
Which government. The USA or the 'pretend' National Socialist (i.e. Nazi) "democracy"?
Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, ENB, can't you at least call this farce what it really is: a Bill of Attainder? Goddamn, I know you and the other Woketarians hated Drumpf, but don't sit there and pontificate about how fucking awful he is while ignoring the goddamn Pandora's Box the Democrats have opened by doing this bullshit Impeachment Trial.
What’s up, Peanuts?
Sad to say freedom fighter Larry Flynt has died.
Larry Flynt, the porn tycoon and unlikely First Amendment champion, died Wednesday in Los Angeles of heart failure, according to TMZ. He was 78. Flynt founded Hustler magazine in 1974, known for its lewd pictures and crude takes, which spun off into a media empire. The magazine’s jabs at notorious evangelical preacher Jerry Falwell wound up resulting in a landmark Supreme Court case, Hustler v. Falwell, where the court ruled unanimously that freedom of speech protections extended to intentionally offensive parodies of public figures. While a 1978 murder attempt left Flynt wheelchair-bound for the remainder of his life, he remained provocative until the end: in 2019, Hustler sent Republican congressmen Christmas Cards depicting the assassination of then-President Trump.
(Daily Beast)
Flynt was shot by some MAGA type rednecks not far from where I live in Georgia way back in the 70s but he went on to win several First Amendment cases.
RIP liberty lover.
"What’s up, Peanuts?"
Fuck off and die, turd.
If Flynt were fighting the government today, they wouldn’t need to fight him over his 1st amendment rights in court. They’d just stop the post office from delivering his product, and “convince” any viable private companies that deliver mail to do the same.
So you know - Federal law states the only individuals allowed to deliver mail to mail boxes are postal employees. And if someone steals something out of your mailbox it's a federal offense. If they steal a package on your front porch however, it is not.
This is how the postal service maintains a monopoly over other delivery services, even though those other delivery services are far superior in all other ways, especially in tracking and insurance.

A common result of stuffing $7T of UN-backed dollars on the market. Those who *earned* money last year and spent it this year got ripped-off / stole from. There's still no such thing as a *free* lunch.
Yep. Hope everybody put their fake stimulus money into btc.
Or for the principled patriots -- Ripped it up and sent it back to D.C. Political Communists stating their 'buy' "Communism for the USA" by other people's STOLEN labor isn't something a patriot is going to support.
At this rate, we're not far off from this imaginary headline conjured by podcaster Katie Herzog:
our media is in crisis. It's in a complete freefall. And without a media that produces a robust, unequivocal defense of free speech, I fear for the future of this country. The New York Times is a disaster on this topic.
Our media is in crisis, but they're also hurting financially because of it. Look at this tracker through September.
https://www.cjr.org/widescreen/covid-cutback-tracker.php/
I read that 37,000 journalists had been laid off by the end of April 2020. Much of that was driven by advertising--advertisers didn't want to advertise to consumers who were locked down and when the stores were all closed. Thing is, I don't believe those journalism jobs came back--despite the heavy interest in the news during the pandemic and during the election--and I don't think they're coming back. Meanwhile, the streaming revolution is cutting the legs out from under the cable news and broadcast news industry.
I know that for a lot of these news outlets, making a profit isn't the issue. Bezos didn't buy the Washington Post to add to his revenue stream. Sooner or later, however, most of these large conglomerates will need to appease their shareholders.
AT&T has let DirectTV crater rather than lose money to keep customers. They won't even take a loss on their streaming platform, which was a way to keep customers in the DirectTV ecosystem. AT&T owns CNN now through WarnerMedia, and I don't think AT&T is willing to suffer any losses just so that their CNN staff can keep hating on average Republican consumers.
The streamers are coming for CNN and MSNBC, and when the Trump impeachment news dies down, don't expect them to stay as far to the left as they have been in the past. The rug is being pulled out from under them by streaming, and they've spent the last four years convincing half their potential audience that they never want to pay for their product.
I read that 37,000 journalists had been laid off by the end of April 2020. = #Learntocode
Found the stat!
"Many publications struggled to reduce the burdens on their bottom lines in March and April, leading to the biggest wave of industry-wide cutbacks this year, with job losses in the tens of thousands (by the end of April, The New York Times proposed an imperfect but “good estimate” of 37,000 workers laid off, furloughed, or having pay reduced). News producers—from BuzzFeed to the Sacramento News and Review—closed bureaus and cut back print editions. Myriad outlets furloughed staff and reduced hours. In April, numerous publications closed for good.
https://www.cjr.org/business_of_news/journalism-crisis-in-2020.php
I suspect we're about to find out whether the excess in supply of anti-Trump journalists is bigger or smaller than the excess supply of anti-Trump news outlets. Who needs another one?
Maybe one of the reasons so many journalists are getting cancelled is because the news rooms are looking for reasons to cut staff anyway.
Biden will pitch a new "Research Grant" and cover them.
Obama: ‘Google, Facebook Would Not Exist’ Without Government Funding.
https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-google-facebook-would-not-exist-without-government-funding
Without the ability to censor the sitting President by calling their Big Tech buddies via "crony socialism" and as well as censor and narrate everything else - they wouldn't stand a chance.
People have to be guided into being stupid. Nature itself eliminates naturally stupid.
The only practical purpose of this impeachment is to try to prevent Trump from running for president again in 2024.
Again, expecting Republican representatives and senators to vote to restrict the choices of Republican voters is to project your own elitist mentality. You're revealing yourself as an elitist, and elitism has no legitimate place in libertarianism.
Meanwhile, you're arguing for legitimizing populism and delegitimizing democratic institutions.
"Populism refers to a range of political stances that emphasise the idea of "the people" and often juxtapose this group against "the elite".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Populism
In all its forms, from left to right, populism is a reaction to elitism, and if trying to bar a candidate from running for election isn't elitist, then I don't what is. The House of representatives and senate are generally supposed to reflect the opinions of the people who vote for them. Congress isn't supposed to restrict the options of who the voters can choose in the future!
Populism is what the people turn to when democratic institutions fail to reflect public opinion. The Democrats think they're nailing a populist down, but what they're really doing is making a populist reaction practically inevitable.
elitism has no legitimate place in libertarianism
LOL of course it does. Both the state and the mob are potential threats to everyone's liberty.
Unchecked populism is what gave us the Salem Witch Trials, the French Revolution, and the Tulsa Race Massacre. Why don't you ask those victims what they thought about populism.
You're a fucking moron.
And once again you have no response.
You'll be singing a different tune when the populist crowd gets you canceled because you're not patriotic enough for their liking.
Ken's right though. You are a moron and don't actually deserve a response for such stupidity.
I had some time to kill though, so I gave you one below.
No, you’re really a fucking moron.
LOL, they don't realize their calling you a moron is a badge of honor.
They thought; If only those [WE] mobs could leave us ALONE and stop pointing Gov-Guns at us for absolutely nothing but their own tyrannical authoritative Big Revolutionary "I'm a Gov-God/Savior" Plans.
In case you missed the obvious; Democrats are the Populists and Limited Government people for Individual Liberty and Justice are the victims.
"Unchecked populism is what gave us the Salem Witch Trials, the French Revolution, and the Tulsa Race Massacre"
It's frightening to think, but there really are a lot of people who believe like Chemleft out there. Only his example of the French Revolution was (sort of) correct.
The dictionary definition of populism is: "Populism refers to a range of political stances that emphasize the idea of "the people" and often juxtapose this group against "the elite""
So not a lynch mob against other disenfranchised individuals like Jeff infers but the will of the proletariat versus those perceived to be the aristocracy and the haute bourgeoisie.
So Jeff just uses "populism" as a smear against the plebs.
Scratch a progressive and you'll find an aristocrat.
Libertarians are big on markets. Markets are nothing but people making choices. Markets make people behave as if they were far smarter and more knowledgeable than they are through price signals, etc. A nation of markets made up of average people with average IQs making choices for themselves always outperforms a small group of well educated geniuses making choices on their behalf through planning. This is the fundamental observation of libertarian capitalism, and it's entirely incompatible with elitism.
"..Scratch a progressive and you’ll find an aristocrat."
And an idiot.
I use "populism" as a danger against the mob run amok. Unchecked populism LEADS TO mob rule. I don't trust the state to know what is best for me, and I don't trust "the people" to know what is best for me either. Both of them are dangerous and a potential threat to liberty. You don't see it and don't care. Well fuck you.
So you misuse the word populism, and then claim that somehow it's the same thing as too much state power?
Whew, lad. Not too keen on reality, huh.
Says the guy that says slavery has a place in libertarianism because he doesn’t know the difference between slavery and indentured servitude.
Says the guy who doesn't know what slavery is.
Says the guy who doesn't even give a shit about any of the arguments here, and who only comes to troll. Troll Mac, fucking worthless piece of shit.
No. That's you.
R Mac is usually pretty on point. You're just making stuff up because you're mad, huh.
Power-Mad Aristocrat.... lol... 🙂
Naw. I haven't heard chemjeff take to heart his 'identified' parties platform yet. From what I can gather chemjeff is a true-to-heart Republican who hangs with Democratic friends in a Democratic box with so much peer-pressure to be part of this 'identity' gang he's a man in political contradiction.
Litmus test for chemjeff;
Which one do you think describes the USA at it's fundamentally greatest.
1) That "We the People" of 1787 wrote a U.S. Constitution that setup a Union of Republican States government to be constrained by that Supreme Law on what that governments Power was to entail in the pursuit of making sure the government didn't cross boundaries of Individual Liberty and Justice.
.... or ...
2) That [WE] mob majorities get to 'rule' the country however they see fit due their 'majority' gang membership as a signal that they are the aristocrats? (i.e. democracy)
... or ...
3) That no matter who [WE] has majority and no matter what the people of 1787 had to say; There's 'right' and there's 'wrong' and only the King-of-aristocrats should have full Power to Control those who have 'wrongthink'? (i.e. monarchy)
Or more to the point; Who 'owns' the people -
1) The People
2) The [WE] foundation
3) A Noble King

Before Covid-19, this was the CDC playbook for Influenza Pandemic Non-Pharmaceutical-Interventions (NPIs)
Notice how even in the worst case (think Spanish Flu) they don’t recommend:
-Universal masking
-Business shutdowns
-Lockdowns
Everything they’re doing is CCP pseudoscience
https://twitter.com/gummibear737/status/1359616705849401347
They also ignored the factors which should be considered before recommending these much softer NPIs
What’s happening today is very abnormal
https://twitter.com/PJL828/status/1359619044236795912
And WHO, in october 2019
"Everything they’re doing is CCP pseudoscience"
EXACTLY...
The WHO just like the IPCC and various sections of the UN are but growing GLOBALIST agencies who's many policies flies in complete contradiction to the USA ( the U.S. Constitution ).
When people say the politicians sold the USA out to foreign agency; This is exactly what they're talking about when politicians choose to uphold global agency OVER the U.S. Constitution. Climate Change (tyrannical regulation of delusions of controlling the weather), Land preservation (communism), Citizen Disarmament, etc....
The USA cannot bow-down to globalist Gov-Gods if it plans to remain the USA instead of a subsection of the CCP.
Yes absolutely, we should believe the statements of Mr. Gummibear from Twitter, taking a table out of context from some paper (not cited), about influenza, not coronavirus, as absolute proof that the CDC is following Chinese Communism.
Do you guys ever look at yourselves and realize how ridiculous you sound?

Here's your fifty-cents, you dishonest cunt.

What exactly is it and what does it tell us about the left and the real structures of power?
And why has the left become so openly illiberal?
...Solution: there needs to be more centralization of power such that better “global” decisions are taken for the greater good
Globalization no longer means the interconnected nature of the world economy
It means more centralized “global” thinking and decision making

"Weaver has repeatedly failed to pay taxes...A separate case in Texas is still pending over $340,000 back rent his family owes after shuttering a children’s boutique they operated, records show."
Weaver owned a children's boutique.
"Rep. Devin Nunes (R–Calif.) yesterday blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the Capitol riot and suggested that the impeachment trial was part of a continued "coup" attempt by Democrats"
He's not wrong. The Democrats seized power on a fraudulent election that they probably lost and badly, and everyone knows it. Millions are willfully lying about it like ENB, Sullum and our fifty-centers here in the comments, but everyone knows it.
That's why they turned January sixth into a Reichstag Fire. They needed an excuse for the troops in DC, for the military
pausepurges, to criminalize questioning the election and to use the CIA and FBI as weapons in a War on Terror against it's own citizens.By all rights the DNC leadership and a good many CEOs and other coup plotters (John Brennan) should be sitting in jail right now awaiting trial.
"Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is viewing it as a fundraising opportunity"
And why wouldn't they? It's no secret that contrary to the narrative Trump is still extremely popular.
Bush finished in 2009 with an approval of 34%, and that was a bounce from a fall low of 25%. Trump finished with 51% nationally (which is about 4 points below where Obama was), and a 79% approval rating among Republicans.
Meanwhile Biden's president-elect honeymoon numbers were only 49%.
Whoops, Sorry Ra's. That wasn't a reply.
So, is Biden not your president?
Oh, wait, no American president has ever been your president.
Wow! You're right. I'm a Canadian... and I never said Biden was my president... so what's your fucking point?
You are a strange person. You spend hours on this website day after day, bitching about American politics.
While you spend all day here spouting your TDS-inspired bullshit, TDS-addled shit.

What puzzles me is why an obvious far-left extremist and authoritarian like yourself, bothers to pretend you're libertarian. I get that you're playing a character, but surely you don't have to. Look at Tony for example.
No, Biden is the president, he's just illegitimate. The illegitimate president Biden.

If two masks are better than one, why aren't they built that way in the first place?
Umm, because they just published the study, so no entrepreneur has had a chance to respond with a new product yet.
Yes, because masks have never been used in hospitals for the last seventy years so we have no history of their efficacy or of how they function.
Also, one study, unreplicated, isn't something you can build public health policy on.
Children's internet is that way, retard ===>
The question asked was “why aren’t they built that way in the first place?”
You are going off on arguing against a bunch of arguments I never made. I never said it was a well-done study.

And the “neighbors” who turned her in to her boss, are threatening her, putting her on their lists, wishing her dead, and seeing that she never works again, are now smugly asking her to “explain it”.
If there were a camp, everyone knows that they would send her to it faster than you can say “zero self awareness”. We are not there yet. We are still in The Reichstag fire stage. We are 5-7 years out from camps.
Well, the Jews have guns, this time around. Let's see if they use them.
There's also a hell of a lot more of us here, than the Jews were there. If the Left wants to throw a blanket party, there's going to be a lot fewer of them at the victory celebration than they think.
Gray_Jay, this Jew will not hesitate. What I have found is that when bad people say they are going to do bad things, believe them. I do.

National Review is awfully tough, ain't they? Sure, they cannot conserve a fucking thing...but man, they dislike Trump something fierce.
If the National Review had their way the GOP would be an experiment on whether or not you could have a political party entirely composed of "officials" and "consultants".

And left wing politicians have been inciting left wing violence ever since Trump won on election night 2016. The only reason they care now is because they’re the target. So they convince their followers to come to the aid of their own elite asses, as if they’re really fighting the One True Elitist, who just happens to have no political power.
Still pumping the TDS huh? Well fortunately this shitshow will end, they won't get 67 votes, and we can move on right? I mean will reason finally decide to write about something else or keep pumping out the ENB and Sullum articles incessantly?
To be sure, "but Trump" will be used repeatedly to excuse elite's misbehavior.
Also, when comparing to Hitler is too weak, they will compare to Trump.
Where is Reason's article condemning the Democrats for their dishonest video editing? The defense showed every video they presented in entirety and how it changed the context to a lie.
Also the Capitol police and DC police have full authority at the Capitol, the President correctly and by design has no authority. Trump was also sending out tweets to be peaceful by 2:30 pm as soon as he learned of the riots.
Even in the face of a video of Trump condemning white supremacist and nazi's after Charlottesville an impeachment manager stood on the floor of the Senate and lied saying Trump never condemned supremacist and nazi's, a lie, perjury.
Yet Reason with all their criticisms of Trump has not one word to say on Democratic hate, lies and duplicity.
