Brickbat: Rabble Rouser

Police in Miner's Rest, Australia, arrested Zoe Buhler for attempting to organize a protest of a lockdown imposed in the state of Victoria, which officials claim is necessary to reduce the spread of coronavirus. She has been charged with incitement, and police say they are prepared to arrest others who defy government orders. Under the coronavirus restrictions people may gather outdoors outside their homes with only one other person from their household, and in the metro Melbourne area people may leave their homes only to shop for food or other essential items, for medical care, exercise or certain permitted work.

Some blacks are also locked down.
That would probably work in the US. Not so much in Australia.
Wow, the Assie, er, Aussie government is going all out.
Just like the US, Australia has states. This arrest was carried out by the Victoria state police executing Victoria state policy which is the most draconian in the country.

For fun Youtube watching checkout Skynews Australia.
She's free to protest the lockdowns once they're lifted.
She can still protest from her home - as long as she wears a mask, maintains minimum distancing, ...
Of course, safety of the citizens was the alleged reason for firearm confiscation.
Those things are know to kill on their own. We currently don't know if it is all of them or just some. We have to be cautious until we find a way to be certain.

I thought it was just the big, scary looking black ones with "the shoulder thing that goes up."
What is that saying, something to the effect of "Show me how much injustice a people are willing to tolerate and I'll show you exactly how much injustice they will be subjected to"? Unless and until you tell them "No", politicians will take as much power as you'll grant them.
One thing you need to consider is that it's not "the government" making these demands, for it's a rare politician who will make a firm decision on any damn thing, it's simply not in their nature. Their nature is to hesitantly gauge which way the wind is blowing and then suggest that they kinda sorta maybe perhaps agree with that sentiment - but to be sure they can definitely see the merits of the other side. No, it's merely one or two people in government doing this bullshit - stand up to them and everybody else falls in line for they are sheep.
Unfortunately there are people in this country who think that kind of lockdown is what we need, nationwide. They think it will "stop" the virus. Or in some cases, they hope the rest of us will be stupid enough to believe that.
That thinking is all over here in California. I try to explain to be people what "flattening the curve" means, explain that cumulative curves always point up, etc. But they won't listen. To them it's not over until the media stops telling them to panic.
Some people are more at risk than others, so everyone must be locked down equally tight. Except government workers, who still get their gyms and salons.
they are prepared to arrest others who defy government orders
Ah, the age of the petty tyrant has arrived and COVID is it's harbinger. And their motto is: that which is not forbidden is compulsory.
That's Europe already. That which is not expressly approved is forbidden. England did the right thing leaving the EU, but it may take then another two decades to recover. Imagine governing an entire continent via an unelected bureaucracy.
"Imagine governing an entire continent via an unelected bureaucracy."
As continents go, Canada is already there; and the US isn't all that far behind with our un-elected and largely unaccountable administrative state, never mind more federal laws and regulations than anyone can literally count [somewhere around 36-37,000 is best guess].
"...people may gather outdoors outside their homes with only one other person from their household, and in the metro Melbourne area people may leave their homes only to shop for food or other essential items, for medical care, exercise or certain permitted work."
American progressives say "this is what leadership looks like."
