Suspect Arrested in Attempted Mail Bombings
The arrest was made in South Florida.
Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a series of explosive devices mailed to a host of public figures.
Department of Justice spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores confirmed on Twitter this morning that a suspect had been taken into custody. She said the DOJ would hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. E.T. to provide more details.
We can confirm one person is in custody. We will hold a press conference at the Department of Justice at 2:30pm ET.

The suspect, identified as Florida resident Cesar Sayoc Jr., is 56 years old, NBC News reports. He's reportedly been arrested before, once in 2002 for allegedly making a bomb threat, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Law enforcement sources tell CNN that the arrest was made in South Florida. The suspect was tracked through his cellphone, ABC News reports.
According to WPLG, federal investigators focused on a white van parked outside an Auto Zone in Plantation, Florida. The van, which reportedly has political stickers all over its windows, was covered with a blue tarp by authorities. After covering it up, they towed it away.
Reports of suspicious packages being found in the mail started Tuesday, when an explosive device was found outside the compound of liberal megadonor George Soros in Westchester County, New York. Additional devices found over the next several days were supposed to reach Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rep. Maxine Waters (D–Calif.), former CIA Director John Brennan via the offices of CNN, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former Vice President Joe Biden, actor Robert De Niro, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and Sen. Cory Booker (D–N.J.).

Since all of the devices were either fake or set not to go off, is it really an "attempted mail bombing"? Were there actual function devices? I haven't heard of any.
If it is one person who did this, chances are he is just a nut whose politics are too irrational to fit in with either side. I bet he is a Proud Boy Bernie lover or something.
That's my guess as well. We will see. And regardless of what happens, each side will have this as evidence of the other sides madness.
I can't figure out if people are really too dense to understand the argument or just being dishonest. When someone points to leftwing violence in response to some leftists claiming some act of rightwing violence proves that all rightwingers are evil fascits and accessories to murder, it is not to justify the right wing violence. It is to say that if all rightwingers are accessories to rightwing violence then the same is true for those on the left. The point is to point out the double standards and irratinality of holding people responsible for acts they had nothing to do with committing.
For some odd reason no one in the media left or right seems to be able to understand that and are forever accusing anyone who makes the point of the dreaded "whataboutism".
What? Too many circular arguments to follow here....
It is very easy. You just are not very bright. If one standard applies to one side, it should apply to the other. So are people in a political movement responsible for violence that is done unilaterally and claimed to be done on its behalf?
If you can't read or think, there is not much anyone can do for you.
Honestly, I'm just lazy and don't want to put the effort in trying to figure out how your brain works. Not interested.
That's all you had to say in the first place.
...and the answer is no.

Silly John, left wing violence is actually a patriotic response to the environment of hostility cveated by der Trumpenhitler!
/MSNBC
Except that only one side consistently justifies expanded 2A rights with the principle that lethal violence, on the part of individuals, is sometimes necessary to settle political disputes. Also, only one side frames the opposition's protests (criticizing the wars in the middle-east, flag-burning, anthem-kneeling, publicizing gov't wiretapping) as treason (a capital offense).
BTW, how awesome is the twitter handle "whignewtons"? And how does the DoJ allow their spokesperson to tweet official gov't announcements from her personal twitter account?
Strawman. The right does not advocate lethal violence to settle "political disputes". When the right talks about the importance of 2A rights, it's about self-defense and protecting themselves from tyrannical government (like Stalinism). You're being intentionally dishonest here by misrepresenting that as a "political dispute".
Also, the left accuses the right of treason as well.
This just in: The arrested individual has been identified as the notorious Sam Hyde! We knew he couldn't keep getting away with it!
Ten bucks says it is Mike Hihn.
I can't take that bet. He's unhinged enough for it.
If it is Mikey, I will have the most conflicted of feelings for him. Glad I won't have to read his crazy, but also a lot of sadness and pity. If so, I hope they go easy on him. His lawyers might actually have a shot at an insanity defense at least. I mean, he's legit loony tunes. No way he knew what he was doing was wrong.
The van has a bunch of Trump stickers. So unless Hihn has an ironic side we have never seen, it is likely not him. Actually, I would be happy if it had turned out to be Hihn. It would put him away before he hurts anyone.
from reading Mike's past comments, fairly certain he's somewhere in the west coast states. So, I think we can rule him out
The actual Hihn, who may or may not be the one who posts here under that name, is in Boise.
It was also obvious that Hihn wasn't the bomber by the fact that the bombs weren't accompanied with a long, senseless screed written entirely in boldface, with various (smirks) (snorts) and (sneers) strewn throughout.
Also, there was no "Left - Right = Zero" packed in with the bombs.
(Sneer) always got me for some reason.
Pap sneers was Hihn's favorite part of the medical exam.
If it is one person who did this, chances are he is just a nut whose politics are too irrational to fit in with either side. I bet he is a Proud Boy Bernie lover or something.
The stickers all over the windows of his van are pretty partisan. However, there was a study done a while back on road rage and it's correlation with bumper stickers. It turned out that the number of stickers was more positively associated with road rage than the content of the stickers. So, those RVs full of Steamboat Springs, Wall Drug, RMNP, and Moosehead Lake stickers must be full of dead bodies.
The stickers all over the windows of his van are pretty partisan.
I should say, it's almost orgiastic.
I have a theory that you can fairly easily estimate a person's IQ based on an inverse relationship to the number of bumper stickers on the back of their car, with partisan political stickers for either major party being worth double, and those idiotic "coexist" stickers being worth 3, and bumper stickers for third party candidates being worth half, because even though you're still stupid for putting them on your car, the fact that you've at least put enough thought into your political stances to break from the two party herd counts for something.
How does your theory account for A) people who put stickers on other people's cars, and B) people who buy cars with the stickers already attached?
#justcurious
Putting an "I park like an A**hole" sticker on a double parked car should move you up one standard deviation IMO.
So +15
Maybe the van is stolen?
They will find out once they water board this guy.
Democrats are still okay with waterboarding, I think.
I have to question what the actual crime is here.
Inert materials were sent through the mail, and they vaguely resemble bombs.
Were real explosives shipped?
Were explicit threats made?
What's the crime here?
You cannot send scary things that dont hurt anyone in the US Mail.
Yeah, the media is saying he was arrest "in connection" with bombs mailed.
Its only illegal to send explosives via the US Mail not things that look like bombs.
USPS restricted items
You cannot send scary things that dont hurt anyone in the US Mail.
I got about 15 pounds of electioneering mail that is pretty damn scary - - - - - - - - - - -
That sending fake bombs amounts to a threat to send real ones?
Not illegal.
Lefties are freaking out that they got trolled by some guy from florida who did not violate any law.
Libertarians don't "fit in with either side" either. Are you suggesting there is something wrong with that?
Why You Are Not a Conservative
"Fake bomb"? How do you tell the difference between a fake bomb and a incompetently-built bomb?
Incompetently-reloaded cartridges consist of a case, a bullet, powder and a primer, that fail to fire.
The "fake cartridges" I teach with are made of solid aluminum with a soft polymer "primer."
The Air Force has fake bombs that are used to train bomb loaders how to properly attach bombs to fighter and bomber aircraft. They have concrete in them in place of high explosives. They also have fake missiles that have a real seeker head on them but the rocket propellent in the casing is replaced with concrete, so the device will act like a real missile right up until the pilot actually tries to fire it, at which point nothing happens. They use these to practice obtaining missile lock.

Well, I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here. I hope they find a Manifesto that we can all read.
And I hope it talks about the need to have single payer healthcare and end global warming to save the white race.
I wish they let that one Norway shooter keep writing Manifesto's in prison. THAT guy knew how to rant.
That dude went full-bore John Rambo, truly a nutcase only without the Vietnam excuse.
He was also, clearly, a left-wing socialist terr-ist....but I agree, he was good at writing manifestos.
And sprinkle in some stuff about the government needing to come clean about the "truth about Roswell" and some irrational BS about "chem trails" just for the lulz.
"I hope they find a Manifesto that we can all read."
It's called "The Art of the Deal".
Uh huh.
Tracked through cel phone? An explanation will be eagerly awaited.
When the FBI sets up a person with fake bombs they know enough to track that person so they can make a quick arrest. to quick to be believable.
Especially when they all work for Wilson Fisk!
Could also be Norman Osborn, Lex Luther, or Thaddeus Sivana,
when the FBI supplies a rube with fake bombs they normally keep close track of them. I love my conspiracies
Cell tower triangulation of the cell phone location.
And/or he was checking tracking numbers of the packages on the USPS website via his cell phone.
Either way, by now, everyone should know that the US Government unconstitutionally tracks cell phones.
He would only know that if he reads Reason. Since none of us actually read Reason, it could have been anyone of us.
+1
"everyone should know that the US Government unconstitutionally tracks cell phones."
Which part of the Constitution precludes the US Government from tracking cell phones?
Check out the troll^
Is it Hihn?
Dont know. I am not privy to where I number on Pollock's JournoList.
You dipshits think everyone who doesn't agree with the stupid shit you say is Hihn. Just like everyone who is critical of Trump is a "lefty", just like everyone who does anything bad is a "socialist". Just like I am a Troll and probably not a real Libratarian either. You've mastered the art of corrupting definitions....at least in your own mind(s).
Spoken like a lefty troll/ Hihn sockpuppet. /I keed, I keed
If you walk and talk like a Hihn...
If you walk and talk like a Lefty....
If you walk and talk like a troll...
Man, you got me. Nice work, Sherlock.
Funny how you assumed we meant only you.
"I am not privy to where I number on Pollock's JournoList."
You're a zero.
"Which part of the Constitution precludes the US Government from tracking cell phones?"
The Supreme Court decision Carpenter v. United States ruled cellphone location was protected under the 4th amendment, unless it was overturned.
a white van parked outside an Auto Zone in Plantation, Florida.
There is an awful lot that is problematic with this.
Get in the zone! Auto Zone!
Florida?
Florida Man stikes again!
Came here just to remark on that.
I miss the good old days when they were all immediately tea partiers.
The NYT immediately released that this guy is a registered Republican to get that out of the way.
Mr. Sayoc, a registered Republican, has a lengthy criminal history in Florida dating back to 1991 that includes felony theft, drug and fraud charges, as well as being accused of threatening to use a bomb, public records show.
The fact that this guy likes drugs, is a thief, and is an ex-con still means that he is one of praetorian guard of the GOP. Haha. Lefties are hilarious.
So because he likes drugs and stealing he's not a 'true' republican?
Duh. Everyone knows there no such thing as right-wing terrorists.
Right-wing terrorists only exist to protect the Monarchy.....or something like that.
Trolls cannot help themselves.
They got trolled by a florida guy for sending scary looking legal material in the US Mail.
mustached, wearing black striped shirt and bowler?
Wife beater, jorts, and mullet.
was hoping guy from Kaboom.
Evidently the van was covered in right-wing pro-Trump stickers.
http://twitter.com/EdKrassen/s.....8560599042
That settles it Jeff. Trump is a murder. Call the FBI and slap the cuffs on him.
NO COLLUSION
I came here hoping to discover how the right-wingers are going to spin this. Commenters are not disappointing.
Simon's even more disappointed that the bombs weren't actually set to go off so he could REALLY feel smug.
"I came here hoping to discover how the right-wingers are going to spin this."
He wasn't a real republican because he used drugs and had a criminal record. Everyone knows that means he's obviously not a "right-winger" and puts him firmly into "lefty" socialist territory, where he belongs.
Looks like the florida guy did nothing illegal.
Sending scary things in the mail is not illegal.
Your legal advice is as good as your knowledge of the Constitution.
Damn, that's a nice van actually. I'm jealous.
Too bad it wasn't a van with a big mural of a guy with a sword and a woman riding a unicorn or soemthing.
An ironic lone wolf howling at the moon.
Then the media could call him a "lone wolf terrorist". Yeah that would be awsome.
One man wolf pack?
Look, the van's there. I can start doing custom auto body work on it. I can ALWAYS do custom auto body work.
Fly By Night album cover
Wizard peering into a crystal ball on the side, woman in chain mail bikini riding a tiger on the hood.
You know who else had Vans with custom paint?
All the other kids with their pumped-up kicks?
You bastard.
Jeff Spicoli?
people on ludes should not drive.
Eddie Vans Halen?
They are called Umbauwagen in German.
The only surprising thing here is the "Top Youth Soccer Recruits for Trump" stickers. Didn't expect a pro-Trump terrorist to fall into that demographic.
Like I said above, it will be some bizzaro combination of views. The guy will be a euro soccer fan who loves Trump, but thinks socialism is the wave of the future.
His Twitter feed criticizes socialism and is pretty consistently pro-Trump, pro-Republican, and anti-Democrat. It's just that usually that type of person isn't someone who plasters their van with soccer stickers.
People who send fake bombs to political figures are not usually the type of people who fit into any particular box or have rational views.
I agree with you on the "rational" part, but everything is pointing towards him being in the "mindless, obsessive" hardcore Trump supporter box.
And there are 62 million of those, right, Calidissident?
I didn't say or even imply that, unless you think a guy who plasters his van with crazy over-the-top political stickers, constantly tweets barely comprehensible repetitive slogans, and mails explosives to political opponents is reflective of all 62 million Trump voters. Your comment wasn't remotely necessary.
But you think it.
It hilarious how fast the media found out if this guy was registered Republican or Democrat.
They had to. A registered Democrat fact would be ignored since it hurts the narrative. A registered Republican will be blasted as proof that Trump is a poopy head.
In order to vote you have to register as something in some jurisdictions. Some places, dont require you to list a party affiliation.
Impressive mindreading abilities. Gotta find some way to be the victim here.
You will find a way to be the victim, Im sure.
"It hilarious how fast the media found out if this guy was registered Republican or Democrat."
So you're surprised that the media is interested to know the political affiliation of someone that is clearly committing politically motivated crimes? What did you want to know? How many cats he had?
What crimes?
This guy might walk because sending scary thing in the mail without a threat is not illegal.
Lefties are freaking about this and the upcoming election 2018 bloodbath.
"It hilarious how fast the media found out if this guy was registered Republican or Democrat."
It takes about a 5 minute phone call. Hilarious!
C'mon you know a registered Democrat would have been all over Fox News in a split second.
I can't make out what any of those stickers are. Too small and zooming in just makes it too pixelated.
Anyone know which button combination is the "enhance photo" feature that they use in movies? It's gotta be somewhere, surely movies wouldn't lie to us about what computers are capable of.
Scrolling down the twitter feed, there's a clearer picture of the side windows. Does look like a lot of pro-Trump crap on there. The one that caught my eye for some reason was "Top Youth Soccer Recruits for Trump." WTF?
Why not wait for reliable information before debating the motivation (or the place of that motivation in broader current political discussions)?
The most remarkable point, so far, is the ease and speed with which the authorities identified and apprehended the suspect.
Most criminals are morons and easy to catch. Someone sending fake bombs to politicians is almost certain to be a complete moron. It doesn't surprise me at all the caught him so fast.
Called it yesterday, not that it was a hard guess. Turns out it was a sloppy idiot after all.
"...It doesn't surprise me at all the caught him so fast."
He certainly handed them evidence by the pound. If they hadn't got at least a name by the end of the week, someone was asleep at the wheel.
Agreed. Nothing much really to say, except I'm going to keep hoping that a Manifesto Manifests.
Honestly, it took longer than I expected. I figured if they could figure out McVeigh in a couple hours in the '90's, it shouldn't take them days to find this guy 25 years later.
It took them a couple of days to figure out McVeigh. The country jail that was holding him on the weapons charge was like an hour from releasing him when the FBI called.
As an aside, I do not think McVeigh and Nicols were the only people involved in that bombing and I think the group, whoever it was, set up McVeigh to be the fall guy. Not that McVeigh wasn't guilty. He was. It is just that how in the world does your getaway car not have a license plate on it and a loaded revolver in the back seat that the driver never intended to use? That makes no sense. I think McVeigh set the bomb off and the larger organization left him the getaway car. He gets in it and for obvious reasons didn't bother to look in the back seat or check to see if it had a license plate. I think the group left it there like that knowing it would result in McVeigh being pulled over and arrested and connected to the bombing thus giving the FBI a fall guy and ensuring that they didn't look for anyone besides Nichols and McVeigh. Nichols and McVeigh never talked because they were both screwed anyway and feared for the safety of their families if they talked.
That is my two cents anyway.

More like almost a nickel's worth.
At least a thricepenny.
I can definitely see more involved. Whether they set him up is a stretch. But if your remember the assassination of Meir Kahane, the assassin was part of the cell that ended up committing the 1st Trade Center bombing but the FBI blew the investigation (per Ed Norris, former police commissioner of Baltimore and a NYC cop). The FBI said it was a lone act but the NYC has uncovered evidence of a cell. This is the account I heard from Ed Norris on his radio show (so forgive me if my details are off).
I just don't see how you can have a getaway car without a license plate or why on earth McVeigh would have a loaded pistol when he didn't plan on shooting it out with the cops or make any effort to conceal it when he was pulled over.
John...
I remember reading the McV getaway car was parked close enough to the blast zone that the tag was blown off and found at the scene....(McV didn't notice his tag was gone)
Our CIA has done some shady shit overseas and probably gotten away with never being implicated.
The biggest thing for McVeigh pretty much acting alone is why didnt he shoot at the cop stopping him for the no license plate? If he was just trying to get away with it, why get on camera and drive without a license plate? If he wanted to get caught or didnt care, why not surrender near the scene of the bombing?
The FBI sets up mental nitwits for conspiracy bomb or murder-for-hire crimes almost every year. Why couldnt the deep state or ex-agents set one of these stooges up and then vanish? Snitches get stitches might be enough to keep a defendant quiet.
Why not shoot the cop? My guess is he thought he'd be arrested, and then released. There was no reason to think that the FBI was going to pin this on him in a 48-72 hour period, and catch his ass. Hell, what are the odds that the FBI was going to locate an axle that had the required end-part of a VIN--which was still legible after being blown to smithereens--for them to then track to his alias he used, and then figure out that the alias was actually McVeigh.
The odds of that are so low as to be unbelievable. Killing the cop would only have got him caught.
Why have the gun at all? That is the bigger question. You are right, there are very good reasons not to shoot the cop. But once you know that, then why have the gun at all?
"why have the gun at all?"
careful, questions like that get the 2A crowd all riled up.
"The biggest thing for McVeigh pretty much acting alone is why didnt he shoot at the cop stopping him for the no license plate?"
If you want to get away unnoticed, shooting at cops is probably not the way to go. They tend to take it personally. It's one of the few ways to get different law enforcement agencies to cooperate fully.
Turns out, blowing up a daycare center full of kids is another. Who knew.
Maga
Why? The media never waits to see motivation for shooters before they blame the NRA, Trump, etc. and immediately calling for more gun control laws. Of course the media also tends to claim shooters used automatic weapons or at least AR-15s even when it turns out the shooter used a shotgun or revolver.
Who are you and what did you do to poor old Artie?
What disturbs me is the report that said he'd been identified from DNA samples. To be sure, the fake bombs were probably lousy with his DNA, but just exactly how many people's DNA profiles does the government have indexed, anyway?

He had been arrested multiple times. Everyone who is arrested has their DNA sampled.
That was not always the case.
Some states dont collect DNA on misdemeanor arrests.
Can't wait to hear what sort of insane drivel made this guy think this was a rational thing to do.
Pedophiles in the basement of the pizza restaurant!
1) not the first time the FBI fingered the wrong guy to look good
2) not the first time the FBI conspired with a rube to "expose" criminal intent by supplying them with in active bombs.
take your pick of conspiracies, I like No. 2
Number one is a very good point. Just because the FBI says this guy did it is hardly conclusive evidence he did. Let's see what evidence they actually have.
I am going to laugh my ass off if they got the right guy, but either A) didn't get the warrants necessary or B) used illegally obtained info to get their warrants and he ends getting all the evidence thrown out of court on his appeal.
I will laugh my ass off if they have the wrong guy and have to say nevermind and release him on Monday.
Like they did with Richard Jewell? Didn't quite go down so smoothly for him.
I would laugh at that, but a lot less hard than the scenario I proposed. Whoever it is doing it, I hope they are stopped, rather than continue. Before they inspire someone to do the real thing, and start actual assassination attempts.
I think you forget that 'our' government likes to use parallel construction with illegally obtained evidence so they don't 'expose' their methods. There is nothing the government can do, evidence wise, that is illegal anymore. Search and seizure rights are a dead letter of law.
Local cops may get fucked on evidence once in a while, but on big cases like this I don't think anyone gives a flying fuck.
This site's comments often provide fascinating insights concerning the thinking of disaffected, anti-social losers.
This site's comments often provide fascinating insights concerning the thinking of disaffected, anti-social losers.
It's an excellent tactic either way for the FBI. It buys them misdirection, if that's what they want and good will for being 'speedy.'
"2) not the first time the FBI conspired with a rube to "expose" criminal intent by supplying them with in active bombs."
I got a closer-up-than-most look at one of these once. The acting United States Attorney at the time was an adjunct instructor at the local law school, teaching a Constitutional law class, when the arrest of the Portland, OR "Christmas tree bomber" broke. So he took some time to explain to a bunch of third-year law students the thin line the FBI walks... if they supply the motivation, they don't get a conviction because of entrapment. If they don't let the attempt get close enough to realization, the prosecution fails because a person can plan a crime and then change their mind and not execute the plan, right up until the last minute. So to successfully prosecute for attempted terrorism, they have to show that the suspect wasn't going to change their mind, which in that particular case meant triggering the device that he thought was a bomb... and in order to make him think he had a real bomb, they gave him a real bomb and helped him set it off up in the national forest somewhere.
Remember, innocent until proven guilty.
But he's a trumpista, so, guilty.
I hope this guy isn't innocent. If he is, what a mess for the poor bastard. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I'm kind of torn on that, I hope he's innocent for the same reason: I don't wish the hell he is about to live in on anyone. Simultaneously, I want it to end, so I kind of hope they got the guy.
"Remember, innocent until proven guilty.
But he's a trumpista, so, guilty."
Close. If he's a trumpista, he's gullible.
To quote Carlin: "If you are born on this earth, you have a ticket to the freak show. If you're born in the United States, you have a front row seat."
Given that Florida is in many ways a microcosm of the United States, might that explain why Florida Man pops up all over the place?
Florida is not a front row set. It's the orchestra pit.
Still confused by the CNN package with no postmark, etc. Was that actually mailed?
Oops!
Chris Cuomo got lazy with that one, after making so many, and just dropped that one outside the building after finishing it.
As for the one that got sent to gov. Cuomo? Well that'll learn him for pantsing young Chris at thanksgiving all those years ago!
There wasn't any sent to cuomo. He's just desperate for attention and made the claim.
That reminds me of a story.
Cuomo's "bomb" was a fake news misreported. The package contained a USB drive mailed from the NYPD at his request.
Ceci n'est pas une pipe bomb.
+1 Magritte.
Chevys spend a lot of time at Autozone.

WTF does this even mean? It just keeps repeating, like a computer program. It even reads like some poor attempt at a computer algorithm to write some sort of political message.

Not Hihn, but perhaps a cousin?
Like his cousins would admit being related.
bad break up?
The Somali thing is legit, from Minnesota, if you can read between the 160 character lines
This "Hard Rock No. We unconquered Seminole Tribe" repeats endlessly in the majority of the tweets I've read. What the hell does that even mean? Is he Native American?
The NPC meme took off for a reason. And why didn't he send a bomb to Andrew Gillum whoever that is. It seems like he has a real beef with the guy
Gillum is the democratic governor candidate for Florida whose Tallahassee government, including gillum, is under investigation for corruption by the FBI.
Gillum is the current mayor of Tallahassee, Florida; He is a Bernie clone socialist.
He is either under investigation (Republican view) of helping with an investigation (Democratic view), or some other third option. With media reporting, who can tell?
BUCS's prediction of there being some kind of manifesto is looking pretty good right now.
Yes, it is. But by reading what this guy has allegedly posted on his Twatter, I think it's going to require some sort of key to decipher whatever the hell it says.
It does read like a computer generated mess of keywords
Good Lord. It's full of misleading right-wing memes and broken text. Talk about a MAGA NPC.
From one of his tweets:
"We Unconquered Seminole, Tribe, entire Hard Rock,Millions ofour custom say absolutely NO to Andrew Gillum can't handle his own city Tallahassee,Fl Leon county highest crime ever 4 yrs 70.60%in state Fla.Gillum plan tax all businesses 40%, that stop business.Under FBI investigation"
WTF?
"Good Lord. It's full of misleading right-wing memes "
Lol of course you would bitch about this as your first order of business.
Well he's not wrong.
True, and beside the point. It's his first order of business even though it's beyond meaningless.
Wonder if Jeff was just as concerned with the guy arrested for ricin attacks last week. Guessing no.
So this guy is a tribal Indian for Trump? Now that's curious.
fake tweets.
Last name doesn't match the suspect.
His name is being reported as Cesar Altieri Sayoc.
Cesar the bomb whisperer?
tsssk tsssk.
Yep, this one looks like a probable win for Weigel, Krugscum, Chemjeff Status Quo Collectivist, Gillespie, Welchie Boy, and the entire gang of mofos.
You know the entire staff in D.C. is whooping it up and celebrating their asses off right now.
Do you actually think I am *happy* that some nut is sending bombs in the mail to anyone?
Yes.
Fuck off. That is sick and depraved even for you.
Thinking you're a shitbag? No jeff, that's actually quite normal and completely your fault.
But the dumb attempt to throw shade at me for being aware of your entire posting history is cute.
No, Tulpa, not once have I ever cheered for the attempted murder of anyone. FFS I'm even against the death penalty.
You are being especially douchey even for the handle of Tulpa for claiming that.
Fuck off and just go away.
Jeff, you're a known liar so your assurances are meaningless, especially when considerimlng your collectivist leftist ideology and posting history.
"Fuck off and just go away."
Or what jeff? You'll whine more?
Blame yourself and then suck my dick.
You are a liar and a coward. You hide behind this sock so that you can say the inflammatory things that you truly believe without bespoiling your actual profile here. You won't man up and even state the things that you truly believe behind your own profile name, and defend your positions with anything beyond schoolyard taunts. You call me a "collectivist leftist" and will not post evidence in support of your accusation, preferring instead only to perpetuate a libelous narrative about me, and your other targets. You represent all that's wrong with discourse today. You offer no ideas, no arguments, only insults and provocations. Truly, fuck off.
I'm not a fan of a Jeffy either, but I can't recall him ever advocating for violence.
You're absolutely ecstatic that it's not someone from your team (team liberal democrat).
Congratulations on getting a much needed big win. Go celebrate buddy, you've earned it!
I think your problem is that you assume everyone else is like you. So since you would celebrate if you a leftist was caught doing this, you think everyone who doesn't worship Trump must be thrilled that a right-wing guy did this. The projection is amazing, I don't know how you can lecture other people on deranged team-based cheerleading.
It's called "projection, not introspection," and it's the new behavioral therapy technique that's sweeping the nation! Feel bad about yourself? It's not your fault. It's your enemies! Any time you wonder if you're in the right, or you think that you're a douche, just tell yourself that it's actually your enemies who feel that way, because they are that way! Feel better about yourself instantly, through "projection, not introspection!"
I am happy that an attempted murderer was apparently caught.
I am not happy that he was attempting to murder anyone.
Mostly I am depressed that the state of political disagreement has sunk this low.
I would have been more relieved had the guy been just some mentally ill a-political whacko, actually. At least then we could blame the mental illness for the guy's actions.
"Mostly I am depressed that the state of political disagreement has sunk this low."
A Bernie bro tried a mass assassination of Republican representatives a year ago. This has been escalating since riots sprung up during the election every time Trump held a rally (which I think actually benefited Trump politically).
It's crazy. Like we're returning to the political violence of the 60's and 70's.
Hope so. I'm looking forward to the " make love, not war" part.
" make love, not war" part"
It's going to be updated for the 21st Century: "Make Love to a Transgender Person, Bigot, and War With Russia".
Granted, it's not as punchy, but it really captures the zeitgeist
Make Love to a Russian sounds pretty damn sweet to me.
I'm in agreement, the violence is going to get worse before it gets better. This is likely the tip of the iceberg, and if Trump wins again we're going to see some real shit hit the fan. It's a necessary end result when most people treat it as a zero sum game where they either win big, or lose big, based purely on who is in office.
Riot like it's 1992?
'I would have been more relieved had the guy been just some mentally ill a-political whacko, actually. At least then we could blame the mental illness for the guy's actions.'
As opposed to now that we know he's not mentally ill... just a typical republican.
Nicely played, you cast yourself as virtuously sad about the state of our political discourse while being as insultingly partisan as possible.
But... was he attempting to murder anyone?
I'm still trying to find out what law was broken
This is different than clock boy....because election 2018 and democrats got trolled.
>>>not someone from your team
stickers easy to apply
Inert bombs are less dangerous than actual ricin.
I am not happy that anyone is sending anything in the mail with the intent to murder the recipient.
I should hope that anyone here would believe the same thing.
"I should hope that anyone here would believe the same thing."
It's insane that this has to be a "hope", rather than the default assumption nowadays.
Yes it is. It is sad. But just look at Tulpa's ramblings above. I can only hope he's not being serious and just being his usual trollific self. But I'm sure there is some segment of the population somewhere who *does* cheer when some political opponent is hurt or killed. It's sick and wrong.
"But just look at Tulpa's ramblings above"
If they do they'll see you're just bitching about me because I'm right about you.
You're a leftist collectivist shitbag and your protestations are completely unbelievable.
"You're a leftist collectivist shitbag and your protestations are completely unbelievable."
Bemoaning political violence doesn't make one a "collectivist shitbag"
And since I never said it did, what's your point?
His posting history and dishonesty is service of collectivism do.
"Inert bombs"
All bombs are inert until they aren't.
Do you actually think I am *happy* that some nut is sending bombs in the mail to anyone?
I'm not gonna lie. I kinda wish he'd gotten Clapper.
You (and several others here, not to mention countless people on other websites) spent the last few days posting how this was clearly a false flag and now you have the nerve to attack other people by assuming they're celebrating a "win" here? Lmao. As if you would have had the same reaction if the packages had been sent to Republican figures.
Team harder.
Yeah, I was the one bringing "team" into this, not Mikey? Lol.
Who said you brought it in? You didn't, you just jumped on the "TEAM HARDER" bandwagon.
"As if you would have had the same reaction if the packages had been sent to Republican"
Sorry, you did it.
I was calling out Mike for his glaringly obvious hypocrisy. That doesn't mean I'm team cheerleading, this shouldn't be difficult to grasp.
Bitch I posted your "TEAM HARDER" quote, what are YOU having trouble grasping?
"Mike, you're a hypocrite"
How to call out hypocrisy
"As if you would have had the same reaction if the packages had been sent to Republican"
How to "TEAM HARDER"
You are such a fucking moron. Any mention of a political team doesn't mean you "TEAM HARDER"-ing unless you're incapable of understanding context. I said that line because it's true; Mike would not have reacted the same way if Republicans were targeted. That's the illustration of his hypocrisy. I'm not commenting on the Republican Party or Democratic Party at all, I'm commenting on Mikey boy.
You said it because "TEAM HARDER"
"Mike would not have reacted the same way if Republicans were targeted"
TEAM HARDER.
Yeah I said it because I love the Democrats, not to tell Mike that he's a delusional partisan hypocrite. You got me bro.
At least you finally admitted what was obvious.
But hey if you want to be on the "as bad as Mike" list, that's ok with me.
I never said it was "clearly anything". I said it likely could be a false flag. But, neither I nor anyone I have seen said it was for sure had to be a false flag.
And for the record, you still don't know it isn't. It is not like the FBI hasn't gotten the wrong guy before or the media hasn't been wrong about who was actually arrested.
I was responding to Mike (Weigel's Cock Ring), not you, so I'm not sure why you replied as if I was talking to you. I never accused you of anything, but there were lots of people who were sure or thought it was likely that it was a false flag.
Maybe it is possible, but it's highly unlikely at this point that this is the wrong guy and that that the actual perp is a false flag. I wasn't posting on here this week insisting that it absolutely was a pro-Trump maniac when there was no evidence (beyond the choice of targets) as to who was doing this. And in events where Republicans were the targets, I certainly wouldn't insist that it must be a right-wing false flag to make the left look bad. Again, I never said you were doing this, my post was a response to Mike.
It is unlikely they have the wrong guy but I am skeptical enough about the FBI to think it is possible.
The FBI goes after naive and mental nitwits to get them for "attempted terrorism" crimes.
You can tell something is up because when they indict the person, the US government always go easy on them compared to actual terrorists who dont cave to Government pressure.
If a box of dangerous looking things were sent to republicans the media would blow it off.
And yeah, I would still be leaning that they were false flag fake bombs.
Let's see, I was personally called a troll for speaking out against assuming baseless false flag conspiracy theories. Now, it turns out, just one day later, that the false flag conspiracy theories were indeed baseless.
Now, I see an assertion being made that the perp didn't really commit a crime because they were only fake bombs. A couple of questions about that:
* How does one know the difference between a fake bomb maker and an incompetent bomb maker?
* Do we let bank robbers off because they botch the robbery?
Mailing Scary looking stuff in a package is not illegal.
This guy trolled you, the media, and the FBI.
The guy is a weirdo with mental problems. He happens to be a Trump-loving weirdo with mental problems. I don't get the impression that he is clever enough to troll anyone. Seems to lak the subtlety. He's probably just a very incompetent bomb-maker.
I hope you can agree that having reasonable suspicion of a false flag is totally different than pushing false flag conspiracy theories as fact.
I might have missed the political affiliation and him having a beard, but I nailed the bumper stickers all over the car.
In general, people who smother their car in bumper stickers are either insufferably obnoxious or slightly mentally ill.
It depends.
Sometimes, the stickers are all about fishing.
Correct. I should have included the adjective "political" in there.
Although some of those SEC superfans who turn their trucks into advertisements for LSU or Bama can be a bit out there, too.
No. You were right. Only an insane person would think other drivers care about their hobbies and interests.
The real winners are the people that have the little family stickers that give you the names of their children and their children's extra-curricular activities along with the names of their parents. Like, what's the thought process there?
My favorite is when they also include a list of their children's fears
'Hey Johnny, your dad Mike told me to come pick you up from your soccer game. Also, my vehicle is full of nothing but spiders. Ok, lets go!'
Are you people fucking with us?
I have not seen that.
>>>Like, what's the thought process there?
how to safely post while driving
they chant to their conference wtf
I have to agree with you. The odd's are near 100% that if someone here in Dallas has multiple Beto stickers or Cruz stickers that they're insufferable. If they still have an Obama sticker, watch out.
+1
The more bumper stickers, the more neurotic. Doesn't even matter what they're about.
even the setup guys can get pro-T stickers and put them on a van
so your saying every liberal that plasters their Subaru with stickers are mentally ill. I'll agree to that
A few are just used to cover rust while saving for a paint job - - - - - - - - - - - -
I predict that everyone's preexisting biases about this will be confirmed at some point over the weekend--no matter what those preexisting biases are.
I also predict that this all becomes ancient history come Tuesday.
This is probably correct.
I predict that whatever public sympathy or political advantage the Democrats and Media might have gleaned from this will be squandered by Monday, because they will loudly declare Trump to be responsible and automatically assign collective guilt to anyone who remotely supports the president on any issue.
It will be Kavanaugh-style histrionics on a national svale., and will probably have the same effect.
So is Tuesday when the World Series will end?
4 games only necessary. Go Sox.
series of explosive devices
Wrong again Reason.
What would you call them?
I keep thinking that the terms I see are wrong, too, but I'm not sure what an appropriate thing to call them might be.
They're made to look as if they're explosive devices at the very least, right?
"Hate mail" doesn't really describe it accurately.
"Fake bombs" might not get it right either.
How 'bout "scary packages"?
boxes w/stuff
packages with scary looking stuff in them.
The current term is pipe bombs. (No pipes seen in pictures.)
Of course, LEOs have already invented a term; hoax device. And, of course, they've already stretched it beyond all meaning to include LED displays, off-the-shelf electronics, and anything that contains wires.
"Batteries, General; don't forget the batteries."
What would you call them?
Not sure. But I do know the key requirement of "explosive devices" is the capability to explode. This is even worse than "bombs" which is still wrong but can at least be excused due to vagueness. "Explosive device" specifically emphasizes the false element.
Hoax bombs? Someone better with language than I will come up with something that makes sense.
Law enforcement doesn't know if they were intentionally created not to explode, or the bomb-maker simply didn't know what he was doing. There is no reason at this point to think they were "hoax bombs" as opposed to incompetently produced bombs.
Law enforcement doesn't know if they were intentionally created not to explode,
Of course they do. The devices do not contain explosive material.
Pyrotechnic devices would be fairly accurate it seems.
pyrorudimentary
Remember that one time that some muzzie kid intentionally made a device to look like it might be a bomb, and then Libertarians defended him because it wasn't a bomb...

Some reports are saying he's been arrested before for making threats. To whom and when will be interesting.
They keep saying he's Native American.
Did Liz Warren get a suspicious package?
Maybe that's the term I'm looking for, "suspicious package"!
STEVE SMITH HAS UNSUSPICIOUS PACKAGE.
(STEVE SMITH MEANS HIS PENIS.)
Do you know who else had a suspicious package?
Bill Clinton?
Bruce Jenner?
Johnny Wadd?
Michelle Obama?
Santa?
Warty?
Hillary Clinton?
Colonel Bogey?
Seamus O'Rourke?
To whom and when will be interesting.
Indeed.
If he was doling out threats pre-Trump, it's harder to make the "Trumps rhetoric caused this" argument.
Plus from the looks of his twitter account, it looks like hes clearly loony to begin with.
"Trumps rhetoric caused this"
They'll do that anyway.
But whats on his twitter? I can't access it at work.
Almost bot like rants. Same memes and pics repeatedly posted, same phrases repeated in different rants.
Just warm up for when the Democrats lose election 2018.
Singers warm up their pipes before singing performances. Lefties have to warm up their screeching before the big loss.
Unintelligible screeds that constantly repeat this phrase, amid some unrecognziable political message:
"We Unconquered Seminole Tribe,HardRock,Millions of our customers,Vets,Current..."
Like a broken NPC generator.
Anything about preserving America's precious bodily fluids?
I knew there would be an official patsy to cover up for Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Something tells me that we're going to start hearing a lot of "Trump's rhetoric is inspiring insane people" while ignoring the previous position that was taken when a Bernie bro shot up Republican representatives and white powder was mailed to the president and members of his cabinet just last week.
"History will record while he tried to step on all of us, we kicked him in his rear and step on him," Waters screamed. "If you think we're rallying now, you ain't seen nothin' yet!"
"Already, you have members of your Cabinet that are being booed out of restaurants?who have protesters taking up at their house, who say, 'No peace, no sleep! No peace, no sleep!" Waters continued, referring to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen's run-ins with protesters.
. . . .
"Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere".
----Maxine Waters
http://www.theblaze.com/news/2.....ps-cabinet
"These members of his Cabinet who remain and try to defend him, they are not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they are not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they are not going to be able to shop in a department store. The people are going to turn on them, they are gonna protest, they are gonna absolutely harass them."
----Maxine Waters
Ibidem
Yes, Maxine Waters will probably blame Trump for his incendiary rhetoric.
Who voted for this?
The people she pays to vote for her via federal tax dollars, one might think.
Not ignoring previous positions is whataboutism!
Similarly, something tells me we're going to start hearing a lot of "political rhetoric doesn't make crazy people commit violence" while ignoring the previous position that was taken when a Bernie bro shot up Republican representatives and white powder was mailed to the president and members of his cabinet just last week.
"while ignoring the previous position that was taken when a Bernie bro shot up Republican representatives and white powder was mailed to the president and members of his cabinet just last week."
Who made that contention, Reisenowitz?
The answer is no one. Even right-wingers like Ben Shapiro and Steven Scalise who was shot in the attack all said that Sanders bore no responsibility for the attack. But, it's cute how you cover-up for your hypocrisy.
Don Jr, Harlan Hill, Michael Savage, Bill Mitchell (I won't tag the right with InfoWars)
Unsigned editorial in Investor's Business Daily
Lifezette
Marc Thiessen
Other than Harlan Hill Twitter remark, the other pieces are "both sides" write-ups.
Even IBD, whose editorial page makes the WSJ look like Media Matters, wrote:
"And no, all Democrats aren't to blame. Nor are all liberals or self-described progressives. Shooter James Hodgkinson is to blame for the shooting. He alone pulled the trigger."
Man this is thin gruel.
We get that you're a progressive Reisenowitz, but at least try to be honest
God forbid anything be the responsibility of the person who does it.
Well thank god it wasn't a Muslim then.
Eh, I think political rhetoric probably does, in a sense, motivate people to commit violence. After all, that's essentially what politics is at its core: the desire to group with people who will force others to do things you agree with.
If the government holds (or seeks) a monopoly on violence, politics and party-identification is merely the will to direct that violence. No surprise it leaks outside the chain of command occasionally.
CNN has been on the "I am not saying it was Trump...but it was Trump." narrative since the outset.
They need something to save the Democrats this election.
"You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about," Clinton told CNN's Christiane Amanpour. "That's why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate, that's when civility can start again."
----Hillary Clinton
Yes, Hillary Clinton will probably blame Trump for his incendiary rhetoric.
Suspect Arrested in Attempted Mail Bombings
Wouldn't they need to be functioning bombs in order for it to be an "attempted bombing"? I seem to recall reading that the ones analyzed so far lack a way to trigger them.
Cesar Sayoc
A white trumpista white-supremacist as expected...
If you attempt to make a bomb and fail, did you not attempt to make a bomb?
Law enforcement doesn't seem to have any reason to think he wasn't trying to make a real bomb as of yet.
So the government has to prove intent this time?
This should be interesting.
I'm no expert, but I'd say there's some evidence from which a jury might infer intent.
There is also evidence to infer that this guy is nutso.
They were packages with scary stuff inside.
If this guy was living out of his van, how did he print off mailing labels?
He could have done that at FedEx Kinkos or whatever or was he plugged into AC power for this van?
Who said he was living out of his van?
Look at Cathy L trying to make sure all Lefty media is properly reported on Reason.
Why? Do we let a bank robber off because he botches the robbery?
Why would we let a bomber off for making shitty bombs?
Making scary looking things that dont hurt people are not illegal.
This guy likely trolled the media and the FBI.
The van, which reportedly has political stickers all over its windows, was covered with a blue tarp by authorities. After covering it up, they towed it away.
5 minutes in and the cover-up has already begun. Where did they take it? Some black ops site where the stickers can be replaced with stickers more suitable to The Narrative before the public gets a look at it?
/somebody has to get the conspiracy ball rolling
From pics I saw, stickers were pro Trump/anti Dem.
bumperstickers like CNN Sucks, etc
They covered the van.
I will go out on a limb and say this guy has some drug related brain damage.
Well, the 'CNN sucks' sticker will pass a fact check
Notice the Lefty media is not challenging the accuracy of the bumper stickers, since accusations are to be believed after all.
Well he sure hit the right targets if he was a Trumpster.
And to me, it seemed like an inordinate amount for an ostensible conservative/Republican. Lots of people ruin their cars by putting stickers on them, regardless of ideological persuasion. But the only cars I have seen with that many (and more...) have been lefty/hippie types driving ragged out pos's.
I wish all of these insane conspiracy theories could be woven together. Resident conspiracist ENB needs to get on that.
I'll give it a whack:
"A Thai prostitute, currently in jail, holds the key to a Russian orchestrated plot to mail fake explosives to Democratic representatives all in an attempt to distract from the political prosecution of Julie Swetnik and Michael Avenatti who have information about Kremlin asset Judge Kavanaugh and his clandestine rape parties"
Need to weave in something about Kavanaugh owning stock in a company bidding on the border wall, which donated money to a campaign to keep third-party candidates off the ballots this November, and then it would be complete.
Good point
You guys are getting good at this.
* Shivers *
"A Thai prostitute, currently in jail, holds the key to a Russian orchestrated plot to mail fake explosives to Democratic representatives all in an attempt to distract from the political prosecution of Julie Swetnik and Michael Avenatti who have information about Kremlin asset Judge Kavanaugh and his clandestine rape parties.
All of this has occurred in the background of a wider plot by the Russians to launder money for its election influence campaign through a company that has been bidding for a contract to construct Trump's border war. A construction company in which Bret Kavanaugh owns stock in."
Fixed. Now it's fit to print in Reason
Are you OBL...??
The van, which reportedly has political stickers all over its windows
There was a real study done some years ago that found people with lots of bumper stickers (regardless of what the message on the sticker was) tended to be the most aggressive drivers.
FUCK YOU!
*removes COeXisT bumper sticker
Yeah, it was funny. Heard it on NPR a few years ago. Literally didn't matter if the bumper stickers had Coexist, free tibet, Easy Does it, I'm pro-whatever and I vote, they all displayed more aggressive traits on the road.
Even people with the Jesus fish? Or the "No justice, no peace- Know justice, know peace" bumper stickers?
They said bumper stickers... so stuff with messages on them. The researchers' conclusion was that people who were aggressive in nature were more willing to display their opinions publicly. The idea being that the opinion didn't matter so much, just that you wanted everyone around you to know it.
What if it's not an opinion, but a statement?
Mine says, "It was on fire when I got here."
It's probably more a function of quantity rather than quality.
Anyone opinionated and obnoxious enough to cover their car with their beliefs and opinions is probably not the coexisting type in the first place.
*this post includes obligatory curses about server squirrels*
I had multiple copies of an old WOLVERINES! bumper sticker reproduced.
I put them on my trucks.
I crack up every time that I see it.
Funny anecdote: I had a young person ask why I liked Wolverines so much to put a bumper sticker about them on my truck. I shook my head and walked away.
What about "How's my driving? Call...."
I like the coexist gun logo sticker.
Ironically, people who have metal testicles hanging from their bumper are usually the most courteous.
I'm a very courteous driver and my testicles actually are metal.
Yep.
The rust is a giveaway.
That's not rust.
Where's Florida Man been lately?
Probably a nut, maybe a false flag, but what difference does it make? My vote won't change a smidgen of an iota.
By the way, for my fellow Tampa voters, the LP has published recommended candidates, and the James Madison Institute has a guide on the amendments.
Write-In Mr. Seven
O. Twenty-Six *Pg.2
Got my vote, and I don't even live in Florida.
I liked that, too. I think they're wrong on some things--Charlie "Hamiltonian Tan" Crist? WTF?--but better than the horrifically political local paper.
It was a Republican who did this Pro. You now must vote Demcorat and embrace socialism or be an accessory to murder and fascism. Didn't you know that?
Oh, sorry. I'm looking for the Union Label as we speak.
Does this mean we all have to vote Democrat now as punishment? I mean I didn't vote for Trump but I assume I'm part of the problem since I didn't vote for Hillary's plan for a peaceful utopia
"Does this mean we all have to vote Democrat now as punishment?"
It's not a "punishment". It's a privilege, shitlord
Vote for the victim. I'm sure no one would figure out how to exploit that.
Wonder if there's body-cam footage of the FBI sticking those stickers on the van?
- Crowd: A witch! A witch! A witch! We found a witch! We've got a witch! A witch! A witch! We have found a witch. May we burn her?
- How do you know she is a witch
- She looks like one.
- Bring her forward.
- I'm not a witch! I'm not a witch !
- But you are dressed as one.
- They dressed me like this. - No, we didn't.
- And this isn't my nose. It's a false one.
- Well? - We did do the nose.
- The nose? - And the hat. But she is a witch !
- Did you dress her up like this? - No, no!
- Yes. A bit.
- She has got a wart.
>>>Wonder if there's body-cam footage of the FBI sticking those stickers on the van?
exactly. vid or it didn't happen?
I'm thinking it's a false flag. The progressives couldn't even get the van right: creepy white men drive cargo vans, not conversion vans.
But what about creepy native americans?
How else were AmerIndian warriors supposed to sneak into forts?
Excellent point.
"Bold" prediction:
In the days to come we'll hear all about how this guy is some kind of "right wing extremist/ Trump supporter" only to find out that he's really just some random nutcase with an incoherent hodge podge of various political beliefs that make no sense whatsoever.
Makes sense. The NYT was still blaming the Gifford shooting on Sarah Palin up until she sued them for libel.
Or you could read his clothes, placards, and van.
^
Shit bags are gonna shit bag
I'm not sure what it says about America that our rightwing nutjobs are so fucking feckless.
A Bernie bro literally tried to assassinate numerous Republican congressmen.
Did they not teach manners in your childhood? Stick to the fucking point.
Whatabout Abraham Lincoln!!
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by a Democrat
It's not "whataboutism" when I'm showing that you're a partisan shit bag that is trying to play the game of "it's different when people from my tribe tries to murder people".
Have you seen his van? Or clothes? Or Twatter? Or his list of targets for murder? I think his political allegiances are rather relevant to this story. Going out on a limb, I know.
So weird that it wasn't when a Bernie bro tried to massacre Republicans on a baseball field
Really? Because it's all you fucking trumptards can talk about even this long after the event.
I believe the retarded one is the one who uses a violent action to make an empty political point. You wanted to play politics with this, so this is what you get shit bag
Sorry, did I send bombs to all my political boogeymen?
Yeah, if he really wanted to emulate left-wing bomber tactics, they would have actually exploded.
Poor Tony brought up the Lincoln assassination from 153 years ago.
It's a good thing that Bernie-bot Hodgkin-whatever was incompetent with a firearm.
The only pics of the van I've seen so far are with the blue tarp on. Until otherwise, I'll take all claims of what stickers were/ weren't on the van with a grain of salt.
Besides, the kind of person crazy enough to do shit like this and crazy/ stupid enough to cover his van with a bunch of stupid political bumper stickers, of any kind, is probably too crazy and/ or stupid to stick to any kind of coherent ideology. Whatever this guy's politics are, they're probably an incoherent mess.
Whatever this guy's politics are, they're probably an incoherent mess.
Perhaps. I can't access it at the moment, but others are saying his twitter feed is a mess of babble. As some have stated above, I await the manifesto.
No. It seems as if he is a registered Republican.
The only pics of the van I've seen so far are with the blue tarp on. Until otherwise, I'll take all claims of what stickers were/ weren't on the van with a grain of salt.
I did see a link upthread to a Twitter feed that had some pictures of the van before they pulled the blue tarp over it. Looks like there are quite a lot of "pro- Trump" stickers on it as well, so I'll go ahead and eat a serving of crow. What can I say, I don't spend every minute of the day looking at Twitter and following the news because I actually have a job and need to do some actual work (speaking of which...). At least enough not to get fired, so I hadn't seen that before. *shrugs* Oh well, whatever. Still eagerly awaiting his sure to be unhinged, bat shit crazy manifesto. For the lulz.
Or you could read his clothes, placards, and van.
I read his Twitter feed... I'm gonna go with incoherent hodge podge. CNN? De Niro? Hodge podge.
In the days to come we'll hear all about how this guy is some kind of "right wing extremist/ Trump supporter" only to find out that he's really just some random nutcase with an incoherent hodge podge of various political beliefs that make no sense whatsoever.
You seem to have repeated yourself here.
There's a woman in my neighborhood who has all kinds of anti-Trump swag plastered all over her car, she has a criminal record too http://gourl.gr/b1bk. Maybe she can go out on a date with this Cesar guy.
Love, American Style reboot?
Man alive that show was problematic.
Maybe she can go out on a date with this Cesar guy.
Force them to live together for 3 months as part of some idiotic reality TV show (if the guy actually turns out to be a Trump supporting nutcase - personally my money's on him being a Bernie Bro AND a "white nationalist," because why the fuck not).
I would so watch that.
stickers on van clearly not work of ideologue on own vehicle.
I'm feeling left out being a Liz Warren supporter.
http://www.thehill.com/blogs/blog-bri.....with-white
It is unfair that the media has "reservations" about reporting too much regarding political acts of terrorism committed by Warren supporters
So we should let the bomber go, or what?
No. But, you're behaving like a shit bag and I'm not going to let you pretend like your tribe hasn't been on a murder spree for the past two years.
Have I failed to disavow murder as a political tactic? Oh dear, how negligent of me.
I'm sorry your team got bad press today. So, so sorry.
It's a shame that you're so mentally deficient that you behave like a shit bag when violence is brought upon people. You really are what's wrong with this country
The only victim you seem to be concerned about today is Steve Scalise though. It's kinda weird.
There are plenty of others (AntiPro-fa has seen to most of it). But Scalise is relevant because he is a politician, like the politicians targeted with faux bombs.
Abraham Lincoln, also a politician. Clear proof that Republicans are the real victims today.
I would question why you'd bring up Lincoln but I know it is because you are a disingenuous windbag who is fucked in the head.
Try to stay within the current, relevant political era and paradigm.
That's all I'm asking.
Tony, you have to make a bomb to be a bomber.
You're glad he didn't succeed at murdering anyone because you are concerned about what it means for your political party's image.
Just thought I'd interpret this comment for anyone who doesn't get what's going on.
Do you think your point about how people on the right really really don't want this guy to be one of them is an insult?
How would a weird guy who lives in a van and sends scary looking packages damage the Libertarian image?
Psst, they don't claim you.
The FBI has to check all the packages to find out if there was bomb material inside.
Sounds like they jumped the gun and this guy might not have broken any law.
That would be some troll of the media and the FBI.
The fact that Trump and his minions seem most concerned with how this affects Republican chances in the coming election really demonstrates their dedication to political success.
Who has said this, shit bag?
Trump or whichever retarded baby manages his twitter.
Proof? I don't believe shit bags
"Republicans are doing so well in early voting, and at the polls, and now this "Bomb" stuff happens and the momentum greatly slows - news not talking politics. Very unfortunate, what is going on. Republicans, go out and vote!"
I hate you for making me go to his twitter.
The voices in Tony's NPC head.
Well, based on the fake bombs, it's not as though it was a serious attempt to hurt anybody. He'd probably have been more effective at that just walking up to his targets and punching them.
I heard that liberals think it's okay to punch Nazis, so obviously they would applaud this course of action.
Well, at least we now have yet another clear and compelling reason for additional common sense gun control.
He was arrested in 2002 for making a bomb threat.
Will the fake news mainstream media and political hacks that were blaming Trump, now publicly apologize to Trump?
I didn't think so.
The fact that a MAGAbot sent bombs to all the MAGA boogeymen made a bomb threat in 2002 does not negate his motive.
It negates any blame attributed to Trump.
This was clearly the desperate act of an indigenous victim taking out his grief about the displacement of his people on the colonizing American politicians.
He was riding around in a van covered in Trump stickers.
Okaaaay.
In Jingo, by Pratchett, the Klatchian murderer escapes the scene of the crime out a window.
How do we know that he's Klatchian? There's sand around the window--and Klatch is covered in sand.
This whole thing sounds way too much like Democrat wish--fulfillment.
True, but it also seems like just the sort of thing that might happen when Trump reads his enemies list to his idiot followers every time he gets in front of a microphone.
The guy sounds like a complete caricature of a Trump supporter. I suppose they do exist.
They are all caricatures of themselves. Trump's a walking caricature. Just try to do one of those street fair drawings of him and see if you can make it exaggerate reality.
Trump beat Hillary... hahaha.
Case in point.
How did he get those packages all the way to the NY area without any of the stamps being cancelled?
Can you give your source saying that the stamps were not canceled?
Remember the mohammed clock bomb hoax of 2015.
There are too many things that just look....odd.
A lot of the packages that have been shown don't look like they went through the mail.
None of the devices went off.
It appears that none of the devices COULD go off.
He was driving around in a van covered in Trump stickers.
The stickers appear to be printed screenshots of image collages, recently applied.
It all just looks off somehow.
And that's why I still have trouble completely discrediting the conspiracy theory. The media has played a lot of "tell, don't show" regarding proof. The images I've seen of these "bombs" and the little information provided about them looks like they were intended to be scary, not effective. Media profiles of the suspect and his van look too much like a democrat's caricature of the right to be familiar/believable to some.
The media is in full-blown destroy the right mode because the guy appears to be an extreme right-winger and because many have pointed out oddities that might suggest it all being a false flag.
What is really bothering me is how shy they are being with important details. The "bombs" were described as being non-functional and yet I am to believe the authorities saying they were real explosives. My distrust of authority (and especially the government/media) makes me question their narrative when a coherent explanation with solid proof is not shown
From CNN
"He told investigators after he was arrested in Plantation that the pipe bombs wouldn't have hurt anyone, and that he didn't want to hurt anyone, according to a law enforcement official."
Available information suggests he is a crazy person, but this is an interesting point I'd like to see them expand upon. Motivation and intent should be deciphered shortly now that the apparent culprit is in custody.
