Brickbat: Too Late

An independent investigation has found the Church of England rushed to judgment two years ago when it concluded that the late Bishop of Chichester George Bell sexually abused a young girl in the 1950s. The report, by legal expert Lord Carlile, said the church had "wrongly and unnecessarily damaged" Bell's reputation. Carlile said that church officials did not speak to witnesses and failed to uncover evidence that he had easily found. While he declined to say whether he believed Bell was guilty or innocent of the claims made against him, Carlile said he could not prove any of those claims in court.

I think the giveaway that it was false would have been it was a girl and not a boy.
Oh wait, that's the Catholic Church.
Anglicans are just RC's with a different Pope.
Isn't the Queen technically their pope?
Yes. The reigning British monarch is the Head of the Church.
Of COURSE he found his fellow white male Lord innocent!! Narrative says #always believe. Who you gonna go with? Some "expert" ciswhitemale or The Narrative? I mean, if you don't know by now that the patriarchy uses "facts", "logic" and "evidence" as tools of oppression then you ain't woke, buddy. The Narrative explains EVERYTHING.
A *church* made a "rush to judgement" !?!?!? Say it ain't so, Joe.
Was it a Spanish Inquisition?
Nah, it's to be expected.
Republican-Democratic Amerika has neatly solved the problem that once perplexed the C of E. Trooper Tiller of Seneca deliberately murdered a boy on camera in an entrapment conspiracy with another First Responder? over plant leaves. More recently a Mesa, Arizona SWAT team deliberately murdered an unarmed youngster exactly like SS officers dispatching Jews caught with firearms. Both were recorded on film and video. In these and hundreds of similar recent cases the murderers were found not guilty at the very mock trials Thomas Jefferson decried in the Declaration. British clergy need only emigrate to These States, join a police force union, and never be found guilty of rape, assault, murder or armed robbery, objective evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.
It is easier to move to a college campus where no proof is needed at all. Accusation is a guilty sentence. Even when the supposed victim states that nothing happened, the verdict is still guilty.
I don't see proof being needed in the real world either. Accusation may not put you in prison (yet), but it's enough to leave you unemployable and your life basically ruined.
If citizens received the same benefit of the doubt as cops, the prisons would be empty.
"two years ago when it concluded that the late Bishop of Chichester George Bell sexually abused a young girl in the 1950s."
60's years after the fact, what's the rush, fellas?
Was this the result of an Entmoot called by Archbishop Treebeard?
/Nerd
Maybe it was Roy Moore
How did they know it was the Bishop of Chichester?
Tattooed on the back of his neck!
Should the standard for removal from employment be the same as the standard required for criminal conviction?
Hmm. AM Linx got a new name? Anyhow, the left is still looking for the grinch who stole the hag's coronation:
"Kremlin trolls burned across the Internet as Washington debated options"
[...]
"An exclusive AP analysis found that disguised Russian agents on Twitter rushed to deflect scandalous news about Donald Trump just before last year's election while refocusing criticism on the mainstream media and Hillary Clinton's campaign."

The opinions of three NTY editorial writers doesn't warrant the fig leaf of "study".
Posting the following traditional English limerick is I hope the worst thing I will do today:
A pious young lady of Chichester
Made all of the saints in their niches stir
And each morning at matins
Her breast in pink satins
Made the bishop of Chichester's britches stir.
