There is now something called the "COVFEFE Act" to make the president's social media posts part of the presidential record.
#SAD!
Hello.
COVFEFEgeddon!
Must have sucked to have been the staffer that had to come up with the words to match the acronym.
I can't wait until they the whole acronym thing.
I can't too.
Would it apply to the Secretary if State's personal emails?
Only if T-Rex is a person. A question for scientists, philosophers and priests.
Congress of Victim's Federal Exposure of Fascist Edicts
The Secret Service says it doesn't have any recordings of any Trump conversations in the White House.
Trump has their loyalty.
Nah, they just don't want anyone to find out how many Columbian hookers they shipped in for the last night shift orgy.
There is now something called the "COVFEFE Act"
Jesus Christ.
Worse than freedom fries.
A Ninth Circuit panel of judges has declined to lift the injunction stopping President Donald Trump's administration from implementing a travel ban...
A travel ban? NICE BIT OF SUGARCOATING THERE, SHACKFORD.
A Ninth Circuit panel of judges has declined to lift the injunction stopping President Donald Trump's administration from implementing a travel ban prohibiting residents from a handful of countries from coming to the United States.
Watching this shit bounce around from court to court makes me want to puke all over the American Justice System.
What difference, at this point, would that make?
It might make me feel a bit better.
It's gonna take a lot of puke.
Attorney Jeff Sessions will testify publicly tomorrow at a Senate Intelligence hearing about interactions between Trump's team and Russian officials.
With any luck the Russkies will slip some polonium into his water.
Now these are links!
Hooters Waitress Donates Kidney To Regular Customer
Disgusting.
Congratulations on your new kidney, Crusty.
Look, Crusty needs three kidneys for a very good reason.
"If I told you you had a great renal organ would you hold it against me?"
Must be one hell of a tipper.
Disgusting.
Absolutely. She should have been allowed to sell that kidney on the open market for whatever it would bring.
Thank you.
Crusty, kidneys are like cats. If you have more than three, you are in crazy category.
Check his freezer.
I don't like the sound of this. Two consenting adults trading body parts. Human trafficking par excellence.
Later she took back her offer saying: "I was just kidney-ing about that"
Attorney Jeff Sessions will testify publicly tomorrow at a Senate Intelligence hearing about interactions between Trump's team and Russian officials.
THIS is what will finally bring down the Trump presidency. I'm sure of it.
Maryland and Washington, D.C., are seeking out Trump's tax returns in a lawsuit over whether he's profiting off foreign payments to his D.C. hotel.
I guess we were going to get this either way.
Maryland and Washington, D.C., are seeking out Trump's tax returns in a lawsuit over whether he's profiting off foreign payments to his D.C. hotel.
Do people think is billion dollar business went into hibernation when he became president or..... what?
Hey, man, it's totally out of the ordinary for hotels to receive foreign custom.
I am certain there were no foreign donations to the Clinton foundation.
Not anymore.
The Secret Service says it doesn't have any recordings of any Trump conversations in the White House.
Plenty of flame wars conversations on record on Twitter, though.

Guys. It was funny for like 4 hours a week ago.
But Obama saying "57 states" had legs for the better part of a decade.
You're right. Partisanship is for morons and only morons.
And what is pretending to be above it all when the only possible outcome to almost every election in this country, and thus the direction of policy, is an R or a D? What is pretending to be above it all but being clearly a water-carrier for Republicans?
Moron + insufferable and moron + liar, respectively?
So you can't vote for one of the two parties without being a blithering partisan? I guess that's where this handle is at now.
What's funny is that aside from one vote in the 2008 primaries for Ron Paul, I've never voted for a Republican.
Now you've done it, Juice. Prepare for a strident and obnoxious defense of moronic partisanship.
ooo, that made you mad. Must have struck a nerve.
Really? Because I don't remember hearing anything about it in the MSM.
Maybe you and I get our news from different sources? (Does Pravda still exist, or do you read Workers Daily and watch MSNBC...? Hard to believe they would put out anything that would paint a bad picture of your Dear Leader.)
No one claimed Trump makes no gaffes.
Lots of people claimed Obama was an earth-shattering moron based on that one bit of evidence. In fact it was all they needed because they came up with pretty much nothing else.
And some of us pointed out how idiotic it was to keep harping on what was clearly a misstatement, not an expression of a genuine belief about how many states there are when there was plenty of real stuff to criticize Obama for.
And now the same thing is happening with Trump. People are getting all worked up about shit that is either made up or irrelevant when there are plenty of real things to criticize Trump for.
"Lots of people claimed Obama was an earth-shattering moron based on that one bit of evidence. "
This is a lie, from a liar.
Lots of people claimed Obama was an earth-shattering moron based on that one bit of evidence.
Being clear, I said; "Really, not that much brighter than Bush."
At least Trump, so far, has managed not to demonstrate the pompous audacity to publish in NEJM, JAMA, Science, Wired, etc.
If you like your gaffe, you can keep your gaffe.
How many other politicians are pilloried by the comics for that kind of misstatement?
And then we get SNL writers saying it was hard to write funny pieces on Obama because to them he had no flaws. The obeisience given that man was sickening and deserved to be punctured.
Hey, they lampooned Obama as a super-hero like the incredible hulk (played by The Rock) who was beset by idiotic republicans who were both banal and evil. He hilariously had to defeat them at every turn.
Man, they really showed him what for with that one!
See also Quayle, Dan and cross-reference with potato.
That's potatoe
I am from a week ago. Let me tell you: it is not funny now either.
When will then be now?
Soon.
You want the lottery numbers?
Chipper,
Nah, too much trouble. But please let me know: Has Trump been impeached and Hillary installed as president? Because that's what some of my Facebook friends are telling me will happen Any Day Now.
Also, in Tony still around?
No and yes, so you can only imagine the rage boner Tony is swinging around.
I've said it before and i'll say it again: Jeff Sessions is the bad guy from every movie that came out between 1981 and 1991. Just look at him.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, with more accuracy than the loathsome Citizen X: Jeff Sessions looks like the Illinois Nazi from the Blues Brothers.
"I have always loved you!"
Wow. He really does.
I know!
Goonies?
Police busted up anti-corruption protesters in Moscow and other Russian cities. Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader attempting to run against President Vladimir Putin, was detained.
They were ironically protesting about American hacking into Russian servers.
At this point Trump should just organize an orgy in The White House, film it live and broadcast it as a SOTU address.
What's he got to lose?
No fat people though. That's unnecessary.
Trump is very fat.
You're so dumb, Tony. The preferred nomenclature is "yuge." Trump is yuge.
Fat pig, dog, slob, disgusting animal.
Admit it, you would if given the chance.
Depends on what the verb being modified by "would" is.
Most gay-friendly president since Buchanan, and yet you still shit yourself every time his name is mentioned. What's up with that Tony?
Also: TRUMP!
Funny how "He uses gays as props to bash Muslims" becomes "Most gay-friendly Republican president in history" (a designation any R's fat ass would have at this moment in time, and hardly worth throwing a ticker-tape pride parade over) which then becomes "Most gay-friendly president ever."
Witness the birth of a horseshit talking point. The better to file away and not think about.
Horseshit Talking Point was your nickname in college Tony. You and I both know that, unlike Obama (D) and Clinton (D), Trump supports gay marriage.
Trump 2011. He has not reversed his position since. So why are you lying?
Hadn't seen that before. Can you please give your source?
And drop the "why are you lying" shit.
Stop lying and I will.
If you believe this lie about Trump, what else do you believe that's flat wrong? And why? The why is important to me. I want to know where half the country gets its almost comically inverted sense of what reality is.
Annnnd, crickets from Tony.
Once more: CITE PLEASE.
As an aside, I ask for your source because a) I have only a hazy opinion of Trump's support for gay marriage and b) you seem to make shit up all the time. So: name your fucking source for that quote.
Except that Trump has been pro-same sex marriage for longer than Clinton or Obama were (at least publicly).
And I am pretty sure that Trump is the first POTUS to ever actually wave the LGBT rainbow flag in public!
No doubt we'll never know who won that particular race in their souls since all were against it until politics allowed them to change. Except Trump, who never did until a throwaway "change the subject" comment about it in late 2016 (long after both Obama and Clinton publicly declared their support).
People stop lying. The gays are never going to be won over by Trump, and I'm baffled why he's even trying. Plus he put Pence on the ticket, possibly the single most odiously antigay politician in the Western world.
Agreed re: Pence. He and Sessions are Bad People.
No President has EVER risen to the office supporting gay marriage until Trump.
No President has EVER been elected supporting gay equality in federal hiring practices until Trump.
By any rational standard, Trump is the most pro-gay-rights President ever elected. Objectively and factually.
Sucks for you that you're STILL carrying water for a guy who didn't think you should be equal before the law before 2014.
Trump doesn't support same-sex marriage!
He refused to answer the question about his personal views the last time he was asked, and has been consistently against it for decades. In December 2016 he was also asked about legal precedent, about which said "It's fine, it's done."
Ringing endorsement! Someone put a fucking tiara on that Pomeranian on his head.
"It's fine" isn't an endorsement? What the fuck is it then?
Also not an endorsement.
Care to comment on Crusty's link Tony?
I thought not. I take back my earlier remark re: your college nickname. It was actually Runs Away From Facts.
Also: fuck you for making me defend that asshole. (Trump, not Crusty.)
They should be forced to marry.
That's his Sioux name, not college nickname (CNN).
Interesting, a polite and humble request for a citation causes Tony to disappear.
Every. Single. Time.
Next time he starts annoying me with his neo-eugenicist racism or pseudo-religious climate changey nonsense I'm just going to post
CITE PLEASE
If we could only find the magic de-Hihnification phrase...
He also easily counts as the most gay-friendly Democrat president ever, and it isn't even close. Obama and Clinton were both well behind Trump on LGBTQAI issues over the last 30+ years. Obama's attempts to parade-jump the issue with after-the-fact proclamations don't make him into a pro-gay-rights champion, despite claims to the contrary.
Of course Trump was a democrat for most of that period, so perhaps the Dems should get the credit for that part of his record.
There is now something called the "COVFEFE Act" to make the president's social media posts part of the presidential record. The bill was introduced by Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Illinois).
In the long run it'll just be a new word remembered for being created by a US President on a whim.
Married Teacher Traumatized At Least Two Male High School Students With Gobs Of Sex, Cops Say
"Traumatized"? Maybe chafed.
a parent who had observed the teacher and a teen alone behind a closed classroom door
I think i might have some questions for the creepster who was observing them in a closed classroom.
Perhaps nearly suffered a penile fracture? That might be traumatic.
Wouldn't.
But as a 16-18 year old, DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE!
A different hot teacher going to prison
1. Why isn't this just a fire-able offence
2. Who are these sick and deranged 17yo's that send the person sexing on them to jail
3. The insane industry built off of sex crime teachers -- like this very link that has full name and all her facebook photos -- is an obscene double standard imo, not unlike "stoner movies" being OK at the same time as a brutal Drug War.
I think maybe these teens are fucking idiots who leave pics and texts on their phones so their parents see them.
I thought kids were supposed to be experts at technology and hiding shit from their parents. Holy shit, if this was happening to me when I was 16, I would have done ANYTHING to keep it going!!
No doubt, no doubt. I can remember with clarity that from the ages of 14-17 my friends and I spoke of little else than how much we wanted to get a blowjob let alone full on sex. To see these youths throw away the dream and lock it in prison... I can't even.
5 years!? Because she dared to gift horny teens sexual gratification. It just feels so wrong.
Ffffffffffffffff
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
cccccccccccccccccccccccc
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Amen.
At 17 I'd have threatened to dis-own my mother and burn her damn house down if she was gonna cut me off that! Dad would've been cool once he took one look at her...
I know I'm supposed to be outraged, but I find it difficult since this would be a dream for all boys at that age.
Be responsible with birth control and STDs.

Qatar is shrugging off the diplomatic crisis its facing as other Middle Eastern countries cut ties. The country's foreign minister noted it hasn't received any specific demands so it doesn't know how it can diplomatically resolve the situation.
All that leaves is undiplomatic solutions.
'This isn't cute!': Shaved husky snapped without his fur has social media users worry he was shaved for a joke
Fun fact: "Shaved Husky" was my penis' nickname in college.
My wife showed this to me. I thought it was Photoshopped.
It is so awesome that we have nothing else to do with all this extra outrage, so we can go crazy over shaving a dog's coat.
Why does your wife have a pic of Crusty's college dong?
Maybe she's into art, dude. A lot of people don't know this but Crusty modeled for Mapplethorpe.
His college nickname was "Bullwhip".
Doesn't everybody experiment in college?
Who doesn't?
....or she lives in a hot climate and needs to be shaved for the summer?
Huskies have an undercoat that keeps them cool in summer. Shaving them not only makes them less able to deal with the heat and prone to sunburn, but it also can permanently damage the undercoat.
Whoever did that was an ignorant slob.
Summer-summer as well as Arctic-summer?
Yes, summer-summer. Stupid graphics, but the idea's all there: link.
Cool! (ducks)
Hmm. I did not know that. /johnny carson
People need to learn to mind their own goddamn business.
I don't mind if someone makes their dog look stupid -- personally, I hate the goddamn things -- but what they did will cause physical harm to the animal. I'm not into minding my own goddamn business when it comes to animal cruelty.
but what they did will cause physical harm to the animal
Bullshit. Innocent until proven guilty. It's not at all unheard of for dogs of all varieties to be shaved and for all kinds of reasons. Even then, harm/death is overwhelmingly the exception, not the norm.
A shaved husky chained up in the desert sun? Come back and plead your case. A shaved husky with a cone on the table behind him in a controlled environment? GTFO with your bleeding heart and presumption of guilt.
Especially when any given picture of a Chihuahua arguably shows and animal in pain and storied and cultured past times like the Iditarod or the Running Of The Bulls exists/existed.
Maybe there was a medical reason to do it. Why do people assume it was done for no good reason?
with people expressing concern for the animal.
His (Quigley's) Making Access Records Available to Lead American Government Openness (MAR-A-LAGO) Act would force the president to make the White House visitor logs, as well as the visitor logs at Trump's resorts, public.
Oh so NOW they want to make the WH visitor log public. I guess when the Lincoln Bedroom was for sale, that was different.
And seriously, the Resorts? Fuck you.
This Twitter thread has everything: a self-righteous wokegressive claiming an act of pointless protest, dismissal of the act's impact on the innocent working class, baseless assertions alongside demands for evidence, and of course, the cis person complaining about the hypothetical othering of trans and non-binaries.
Oh! There's also the "white knight," with some dude coming in to brag that he bought a men's Wonder Woman t-shirt.
Sweet! All i need is somebody claiming racism, and i'll have won this round of SJWBingo.
Isn't racism like the Free space? It is automatic.
Have they even watched Hidden Figures?
Why doesn't this asshole understand that we don't encourage women to go into STEM because then they become unfuckable.
Making a retail worker's day slightly more difficult and annoying and then bragging about it on Twitter is not the same thing as encouraging girls to get into STEM, dummy.
Don't you consider all women unfuckable?
So is this just contextless snark, or do you think this woman did a Good Thing?
I'm not a fan of symbolic gestures that serve to impress oneself but no one else.
Yay!
Like voting libertarian.
Zing!
But I don't do that for me, I do that cause this is a democracy -- even though some hate that fact.
And, what, voting Democrat does impress others?
It has some chance of accomplishing something.
Yeah, just ask those piles of burnt and twisted child corpses.
People don't vote to affect the outcome of the election, Tony. Statistically, the chance of doing that is practically zero. Most people know this on some level. People vote to remove a feeling of unease.
All voting is a pointless gesture.
What would you call your every comment here, then?
Like commenting on Reason for the past decade?
But we don't reckon time the same way, do we?
How long you reckon you been postin' on the Reason, fella?
Like your single white tear money shots?
Personal experience informs me that that is totally untrue
There's countless trans people replying to the one girl's post and questioning how this is offensive, and I saw zero agreeing with her. She responds with the same non-answer every time, "I just amplify the voices of trans people with fewer followers, I don't speak for them. If you want to know, search for and follow some activists." Okayyy, but I thought you were an activist?aybe we'll never know!
Her trans friend in Canada said they was offended. You wouldn't know them.
(how are we conjugating when "they" is referring to a single unlabelable being?)
The woman who Tweeted that has a PHD in Anthropology.
Henry Jones she is not.
The woman who Tweeted that has a PHD in Anthropology.
This portrayal isn't ironic enough. She's a woman who got a Ph.D. to be a glorified nutritionist/lactation consultant and spend her free time rearranging clothing at her local Target. Like the only thing missing is that on weekends she enjoys walking around her neighborhood barefoot to get in touch with her body and she makes organic, artisanal, sandwiches and serves them to homeless men for a sense of gender/moral superiority.
No hat.
And the total nerd who posted the forlorn photo of in the Wonder Woman t-shirt has this for a Twitter bio:
When you out-nerd your average Reason commenter...
"Real Estate" may be the saddest part of the description.
He also admits that the collar on the shirt is too tight, but Wonder Woman's armor must have been uncomfortable too, and she persisted. He's a real life superhero.
Having read nothing of the twitter war and only seeing this bio -- I want to put on my Captain America T-Shirt and just go to town on this guy's rib cage with body blows.
Cap has always been my favorite Marvel hero. And remained so until Chris Evans started blowing up Twitter.
I love Batman and Ben Affleck killed it in BvS. Even though I can't stand Affleck's politics, he still has been a pretty stand up guy and putting his money where his mouth is. But Evans is just going off and everybody and everything that isn't totally progtarded.
It is a shame.
There's also Maggie McNeil!
It ruled that Congress really needs to change the law, but that the Court itself couldn't determine whether married parents and single fathers should get the easier path that single mothers got, or whether single mothers should be made worse off, the same as married parents and single fathers. So no change right now.
The 1940 law assumed that single mothers might have been forced to follow their husbands out of the country when they really wanted to stay here, so they had less of a residency requirement.
The Secret Service says it doesn't have any recordings of any Trump conversations in the White House.
Donald Trump may not have been totally truthful?
I don't believe it.
>Trump declares he's 'passed more legislation' than any other president besides FDR
I love how delusional he is.
"Who's passed more legislation, who's done more things than we've done."
I... what?
'Passed more legislation' is just a DC euphemism.
((facepalm)) You do know the difference between legislation and executive orders, right?
Well, he is technically correct. No president has passed more legislation. No president has passed less legislation either. Presidents are not empowered to pass legislation at all.
The best kind of correct.
"You do know the difference between legislation and executive orders, right?"
We shouldn't be too surprised. This is the guy during the campaign who believed that judges sign bills.
I read the entire transcript of Comey's testimony (the non-closed hearing).
Comey, the 6' 8" FBI Director, MIGHT have gotten the feeling that Trump MAY have been asking him to let Flynn off the hook. The word "hope" was used (so obviously it was a Presidential threat) and because "he was a good guy." The day after Trump fired Flynn. ONCE. Never brought it up again. After deciding that Trump was the ONLY person Comey has met with in his entire career, in which he felt the need to write detailed notes for every conversation they had. Of course, Comey never actually brought it up with anyone that he felt that POTUS was inappropriately asking him to drop the Flynn investigation.
And then later asked that Comey state for the record, what everyone in Congress and the upper echelon in the FBI already knew, that Trump was NOT (and is still NOT) under investigation. (After publicly exonerating Clinton).
And then Trump told him that it would be good to know if any of his "satellites" were illegally involved with Russia. Wouldn't it be good to know?
We have a "he-said, he-said" over something that isn't illegal, in which POTUS wasn't being investigated, and in which an Executive Branch employee got fired by that POTUS.
I'm sure it will all work out for Trump.
But Comey openly admitted that the reason he was careful and took notes around Trump is because he felt that it was a bizarre request to be alone with the FBI director, and that the man would probably lie about it. He said he has shit character and that's why he was careful. He's not tiptoeing around that.
More or less (though Comey was a little bit more polite in his phrasing).
But the thing is, even with the detailed notes Comey took, there is really nothing there.
If Trump was putting pressure on Comey to drop the case, wouldn't Trump have asked more than once? Or had his subordinates subtly indicate that it was in Comey's best interest to drop the investigation on Flynn?
And contrary to what Sullum wrote earlier, Trump Jr did NOT contradict what Trump or his lawyers said. Trump jr was merely stating that if Trump wanted him to drop the case, Trump would have told him outright. Trump Jr. said Trump said that he hoped they would go easy on Flynn, but that he was letting them do their jobs.
The good thing is one of us will be proven right at some point. I'm sure Trump'll do fine. He's been so good at this thus far, after all.
6'8" why the hell didn't make millions playing basketball??? Maybe he's aspergers... has anybody asked?
Bear, what we have is an investigation that was almost certainly caused by Trump's Tweets and hubris being led by a Special Counsel who has enormous power, and who will investigate everything he possibly can about Trump and his associates.
I know. I have been one who has supported Trump (more of an anti-anti-Progressive kind of thing) throughout much of this, while still disagreeing with a number of policy positions. And I have felt that, for the most part, he understood the power of social media. But, I do think that he stepped on his dick in terms of firing Comey. I haven't seen anything to indicate that there is anything behind this other than his ego.
I haven't seen anything to indicate that there is anything behind this other than his ego.
Unfortunately for Trump we are probably going to find out every single thing him and his merry band of buffoonery have been up to.
Comey's bungling, self serving ineptitude in the Hillary investigation proves he isn't fit to head the Dog Snot Junction park police, let alone the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
He needed firing. Hell, the country needed him fired.
More deflection.
If Comey performed according to FBI standards in the Hillary investigation, then the entire FBI should be shut down and replaced with the corpses of the Keystone Cops.
Deflection indeed.
Actually, I tend to agree, but Trump should have done it right away. I think his optics in this particularly case are bad.
"He's tall" is a weirder deflection than "Trump wasn't personally under investigation," IMO.
Except that one of the main points was that Comey felt that Trump was doing something inappropriate and unethical. And yet Comey didn't feel the need to come out and say that to him. Because he was intimidated by Trump? Really?
I agree that height isn't the end all and be all. But he apparently was so scared he didn't even mention it to the AG, or anyone else.
You wouldn't be intimidated by Napoleon or Julius Caesar or Vizzini the Sicilian? Andre the Giant was intimidated, and he was a giant!
Trump's notoriously thin-skinned and impulsive, and now he's the President and Comey's boss. I'm not saying this all smells right, but I don't find it incredible that Comey would be so flummoxed by the whole thing that he had no idea in whom to confide outside his diary.
Perhaps. And in all honesty, the height thing is kind of a throwaway just for shits and grins.
But, I still have to say that if the FBI Director can't find it in himself to tell someone that he thinks POTUS is asking him to do something inappropriate, then Comey isn't the guy all the Senators seem to think he is.
He told the entire planet the other day.
Don Boudreaux has been on the cocktail circuit: How Much Automation Is there in Chad?
WHO ARE THE TRUE?
How Much Automation Is there in Chad?
I don't know. Have you asked him?
Chad Thundercock needs no automation, baby.
Police busted up anti-corruption protesters in Moscow and other Russian cities. Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader attempting to run against President Vladimir Putin, was detained.
I wonder if Comey is able to prove that the USA is being this election influence in Russia.
Since that lever was pulled first in the US, Russia can't can't now, that would look contrived... #winning #yuge
A Ninth Circuit panel of judges has declined to lift the injunction stopping President Donald Trump's administration from implementing a travel ban prohibiting residents from a handful of countries from coming to the United States.
To be fair, the 9th Circuit is the most reversed circuit in the federal appellate court system.
There is absolutely nothing to the fact that district courts in the 9th Circuit are being chosen for these challenges.
The biggest problem from the Deep State is the judicial authoritarianism.
Disbanding the 9th would be a start towards correcting that.
This is now a thing apparently:
Can Dogs Have Autism?
"While it is of course our job to apply faithfully the law Congress has written," Justice Gorsuch wrote, "it is never our job to rewrite a constitutionally valid statutory text under the banner of speculation about what Congress might have done had it faced a question that, on everyone's account, it never faced."
I like this Gorsuch!
He just refused to rewrite the law via judicial rule and instead left it up to Congress to fix the law for debt collection.
