IS MIKE PENCE PRESIDENT YET?
Hello.
Trump needs to learn how to shut the fuck up.
Let them implode on their own. Instead, whatever sympathy points he may get he blows on being a blowhard.
Trump's been an unsympathetic blowhard for going on three decades now. It's sort of his thing.

You know who else was an unsympathetic blowhard?

Obama.
Where's my Nobel Prize for 'Duh'?
Morton Downey, Jr.?
Obviously Tony.
Trump himself described his administration as being "under siege" at a conference today...
As long as he isn't being Under Siege 2: Dark Territory.
Totally O/T
Remember the Georgia sheriff that searched every student in a school for drugs? Students filed a class-action civil rights suit against him.

Guess they never heard of qualified immunity.
Or they believe that the "qualified" part means something.
He's the sheriff. That means he's qualified for immunity.
Did nobody teach these kids that one cannot use the King's Law against the King's Men?
It's too bad Justice Nino isn't around to straighten these little brats out. Thank YHWH we still have Clarence the Nazgul.
If the local LP had their shit together, they'd be mailing out materials to those families this week.

Friends sometimes have to speak honestly to one another.

But he stopped short of saying he believed Trump's behavior should be considered obstruction of justice.
And 95% of America stopped short of reading ^this^ second sentence.
Hell, i didn't even read the first one.
It's pretty obvious that Comey believes Trump obstructed justice but he's not going to say it at this moment (he will later) because he's the star witness and giving his opinion on the matter would prejudice his testimony. Just the facts.
I suspect those "free radicals" have nuked your brain cells.
The Democats are going to keep desperately chasing that "Russian collusion" laser pointer until they collapse from exhaustion, aren't they?
It's their Benghazi.
Truly. You would think that people would have learned by now just how futile all of this is.
Each generation must be burned by the fire.
^ This.
Each generation that realizes they made the same mistakes their parents did watches helplessly as the next generation makes the same mistakes.
This is the way of humanity.
Actually, it's their long-form birth certificate.
Hawaii is the first state to pass legislation that would align its environmental goals with the Paris Climate Accord.
Okay.
States' rights!
Actually, yeah.
Agreed. Long as I don't have to bail them out, I don't care what those idiots do.
And with good reason. When the northern US is a tropical paradise thanks to global warming, no one will fly to Hawaii for the winter.
BECAUSE IT WILL BE UNDER WATER.
Did they include all the emissions from shipping stuff and people to and from the islands or are they just adding up carbon generated on the islands?
They will be using the DiCaprio-Gore accounting method.
Plug-in hybrid cargo ships?
It's easy for them to show progress since they'd be switching from primarily oil and some coal to solar via pollution exporting.
LINK
If every state had the largest segment of their population serviced by 70% oil, 20% coal, and 10% who cares, they could show good progress by just switching to just about anything.
Trump's lawyer has responded by saying Comey's testimony actually proves that Trump was not trying to influence the investigation and also attacked Comey for leaking his recollection of their private conversations to the press.
Can the President have a private war counciliare?
"[S]tates that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote."
Luckily the US has never supported terrorists.
SO TRUE
I can't tell who their sponsors are since they don't wear the patches.
But he stopped short of saying he believed Trump's behavior should be considered obstruction of justice.
That's the strong and decisive FBI director we fell in love with in the run up to the election.
...and also attacked Comey for leaking his recollection of their private conversations to the press.
He leaked them by putting them out on Hillary's server. Or maybe it was that FBI kiddie porn server.
Trump himself described his administration as being "under siege" at a conference today, but promised he'll come out of the fight "bigger and better and stronger than ever."
He's increasing federal funding for penile enlargement technologies?
Why would he give them more money when they keep coming up short?
Since Swiss isn't here anymore I'll pick up the slack on this one:
*narrowed gaze*
If Trump has you all exhausted you could try winning the $435 million Powerball lottery jackpot instead.
The big ones do peak my interest.
Unlike most taxes, the stupidity tax is completely voluntary.
Hawaii is the first state to pass legislation that would align its environmental goals with the Paris Climate Accord.
States can get things done without money from daddy?
Remember President Trump's big, triumphant arms deal in Saudi Arabia? It turns out it didn't really happen. It was Trump's own fake news, a feat of supply chain vertical integration and more importantly for the MAGA agenda repatriating jobs from Russia. In all seriousness, at the end of the day it didn't happen. There are no contracts or sales. At all.
So how could this be? The story comes from Bruce Riedel, a longtime CIA and national security official, now at Brookings. The Potemkin deal turns out to be remarkably similar to the Trump jobs announcements we've grown accustomed to. Trump takes a bunch of jobs or investments which either already exist or have already been announced and rebrands them as new economic growth driven by Trump Power. In this he usually has a compliant and complicit CEO, happy to go along with the charade to curry favor with the US President.

So, exactly like your claims that you've paid your bet.
I just saw a bunch of crates on a truck that were on their way from Raytheon to Saudi Arabia. So somebody's selling something to them.
Hopefully crates full of F1 11 LOVE.

"The story comes from Bruce Riedel, a longtime CIA and national security official, now at Brookings."
LOL.
Iran is not impressed by the way Trump responded to attacks from the Islamic State within their country. He said, "[S]tates that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote."
Daaang, hopefully Iran has some safe spaces.
The GOP's war boner on Iran has been soft lately.
Damned distractions!
How do you feel about the DNC's war boner for Russia and all the countries they bombed, Mr. Rational Classical Liberal muppet?
Iran is not impressed by the way Trump responded to attacks from the Islamic State within their country. He said, "[S]tates that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote."
Yeah, so Iran is saying (or now only suggesting) Saudi Arabia was behind it, and there's... something going on with Qatar, so all this might warrant a bit more attention. At least we have a firm, competent Commander in Chief to guide the American government through such a mess.
At least we have a firm, competent Commander in Chief to guide the American government through such a mess.
We have nukes for that. True war is on the shelf until nuclear defense systems are real until then it don't matter who's driving this tank.
Full employment! Thanks Governor Reek!
Can't be so. According to wingnuts there are 90 million unemployed people in the US.
Or at least there was when Obama was POTUS. Now we are at full employment thanks to the Con Man.
TRUMPTARDS UNITE!
It's a lot more than 90 million. Most people aren't looking.
What do they do when they catch the sneks? Kill'em? Shame.
I hate snakes as much as the next person, but 30 million dollars?
Where's an Englishman with a flute when you need one?
I guess he's sick and tired of all these motherfuckin' snakes in this motherfuckin' swamp!
Chicago sports radio person and former attorney Julie DiCaro is suggesting on twitter that the Cubs suspend Addison Russell pending an MLB investigation into domestic violence. "I have no idea if the allegations against Addison Russell are true or not, but I do know one thing. After all the things they said about taking DV seriously when they got Chapman, they have to sit Russell down."
Who made the accusation? Not his wife. Not his kids. Not a family member. No, it was some person who happens to know the wife, on Instagram of all places. There are no police reports. Her justification; "most victims never report anything" and "there is almost never proof of domestic violence, because victims often change their minds about testifying."
This is the a next step. Not just believe the alleged victim, but to believe anyone who happens to know the "alleged victim."
Her justification; "most victims never report anything" and "there is almost never proof of domestic violence, because victims often change their minds about testifying."
And therefore people who don't report being victims of domestic violence should be assumed to be victims of domestic violence.
That's quite a natural interpretation. Everything can be a clue. If someone is too happy, clue because it's obviously fake. If someone is unhappy, clue because they're probably being abused. If someone is just in the middle between happy and unhappy, it's a clue because they're bottling everything up.
I don't even know why I'm using "they." We know that only women can be domestically abused. If a woman beats a man with a baseball bat, well, he probably should've taken out the garbage or whatever.

I hope it turns out there's nothing to these allegations, but once MLB is investigating, I don't know how you can do business as usual.

I'm so glad you got a chance to read her feed. She's delightful, isn't she?
Now you know why she is a former attorney.
So... sports teams should now suspend any player who has been accused of domestic violence by any person, regardless of the source or evidence (or lack there of)? I'm sure sports fans will use this to fuck over their rival teams.
NY Jets fan a week they play the Patriots: "Quick! Someone jump on Instagram to claim they saw Tom Brady smacking around Giselle! It's our only hope!"
Meant to sarcastically say "I'm sure sports fans will NOT use this to fuck over their rival teams."
But it works as is too.
"It's a massive payout for a $2 ticket, but the 1 in 292,201,338 odds of winning the jackpot are slim, to say the least."
So you're saying there's a chance....
lol, I just went to look at that too. Jackpot dreams are so sweet when one's falling asleep in one's cubicle.
How does it compare to the odds of being killed by a terrorist?
UK exit poll: Conservatives largest party, but no majority?!
There has not been one party with a majority of the vote in Britain since around 1932.
They have had first past the post system in place where you can get a majority of the seats in parliament with getting less then 50% of the popular vote
Hawaii is the first state to pass legislation that would align its environmental goals with the Paris Climate Accord.
I expect to see everyone in Hawaii watching TVs connected to a stationary bike.
Not so fast there, Diane. "Align" could mean "we'll strive for one-tenth what the Accord mandates".
The problem with statistics on odds of winning is that it leaves out two facts
1. someone will win
2. you can't win if you don't play
and the counterfactual you won't be let down if you don't play unless its your neighbor or relative or co worker
this was supposed to be in response to chemjeff's lottery comment
Actually, there might not be a winner this week. Or next week, or the week after. And when someone finally does win, there could be multiple winning tickets.
The key thing is to only buy a ticket or two here and there. I sometimes see people buying $100 worth of tickets. These aren't rich people, mind you. It's insanity. Dude, buy one or two tickets. Also, do that once a month at most.
I fill my gas tank about once a month (don't drive much) and I'll get like 1 PB and 1 Megamillions ticket, so that's $3. Of course I don't win, but neither does the maniac throwing down a bill for 50 tickets.
No, somebody will not win. Nobody has won the last 7 or 8 or however many drawings since the jackpot was at 40 million, and it's very possible nobody will win this weekend.
They don't pick a winning number from the tickets purchased like a raffle.
"?Hawaii is the first state to pass legislation that would align its environmental goals with the Paris Climate Accord."
So Hawaii has a spare $3Bn to 'help' China and India?
No WONDER China likes it so much!
I'm gonna guess that the odds of winning the Powerball are slightly better than the odds of Hawaii having any impact whatsoever on the average global temperature 100 year from now.
