Trump Weekend Fallout, Columbus Day Anger, Encryption Charges in England: P.M. Links
-
Donald Trump's weekend fallout continues. House Speaker Paul Ryan says he will not be campaigning for Trump or defending him, focusing instead on promoting House candidates and the GOP agenda. A poll taken after the release of the infamous Trump tape on Friday but before the debate shows Clinton's lead growing. But Mike Pence is still on board the Trump train!
- Today is Columbus Day, so of course, politics and outrage over how awful the man was and attempts to change the name of a holiday that nobody actually observes anyway (except as a day off).
- Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she thinks the sports-related protests of the national anthem to publicize police abuse are "really dumb."
- A man in London has been charged of several counts of planning terrorism, one of which includes using encryption as part of an effort to plan an attack. Encryption is still (at the moment) technically legal in Great Britain but can lead to additional charges if connected to terrorism accusations.
- A man in Waynesboro, Virginia, has settled a lawsuit against police there after he was forced into an involuntary psychiatric care for five whole days after a physical ailment was confused with a psychotic disorder.
- Two police officers killed in Palm Springs, California, over the weekend were apparently targeted by a gang member intending to kill police, according to the suspect's own father.

Donald Trump’s weekend fallout continues.
Trumpalanche! Ultimately, meaningless.
Sad
Happy Columbus Day, Rufus.
Happy Indigenous People’s Day!
Aren’t all people indigenous? Or are some of us being disindigenous?
You know who else was disingenuous?
I’m not. Somebody owned this house before I did.
Obama’s doing his best to make them indigent.
I don’t celebrate Ohio holidays.
More pumpkin products for me.

Hello.
Happy Thankgodwedonthavedebateslikethat Day!
TMI (Trump Mile Island) fallout? Get ready for nucular winner.
Today is Columbus Day, so of course, politics and outrage over how awful the man was…
Oh, come on. Adventures in Babysitting wasn’t that bad. And there’s Home Alone.
Did you happen to see Pixels?
I found it perfectly serviceable.
I thought Columbus was the guy in the trenchcoat who would annoy people until they confessed to murder?
+1 More thing.
-1 eye
Uncle Buck was really bad.
Hey! The rat/mole line was pretty good…
Nice pic, Shackleford.
Shackelford decided to illustrate one of SugarFree’s stories, i guess. [vomits]
Rule 34.
SugarFree is all about Rule 35, not Rule 34.
“Any sexual fetish can be destroyed by reading SF slashfic while enjoying it?”
Looks like he changed it. I’m pretty sure he used to call it “the enforcement arm of rule 34”. But 35 makes more sense: “if there is no porn version of a thing, it will be made”.
When I see those masks, all I can think about is chainsaw wielding psychotics.
Wait, those are masks? I thought they were blow up sex dolls. The pic is really small on my phone.
All I could think about was grabbing pussies.
If pussies weren’t meant to be grabbed then why did God put them between a chick’s legs?
I have both of those masks. I just couldn’t resist.
Scariest Halloween ever.
US forces increasing Iraq footprint ahead of Mosul operation
” nearly 6,000 service members, up from almost none following the 2011 withdrawal from Iraq”
The one time I could have supported a pull-out, and they mess it up.
It’s government. They fuck everything up.
Don’t you always support pulling out?
Now that I’ve had a kid from not? Pretty much.
I had a kid in spite of Ortho.
99.9% my ass.
Maybe you should stop relying on ant poison for birth control.
I took the ant poison to come to terms with it.
No.
I figured you would go with this one.
Why do I set myself up like that?
(I’m linking this simply to counterbalance the Monty Python video)
Didn’t work. Who’s going to read that?
How about the four bullet points at the beginning?
Nope. Fell asleep.
“Pope Paul VI’s made four primary predictions about the consequences of contraception and they are very interesting:
“a general lowering of moral standards throughout society
“a rise in infidelity
“a lessening of respect for women by men
“the coercive use of reproductive technologies by governments”
Moral standards are subjective, so what he really means is “I won’t like it”.
Fidelity is historically pretty scarce. Did he grow up believing Leave it it Beaver?
Women are far more respecte now that 50, 100, or 1000 years ago, unless by “respect”, he means put up on pedestals so they can’t do anything on their own.
That last one, what does it mean? Prison rape? What the hell are “reproductive technologies”, dildos? IVF? Abortion?
“Amongst our primary predictions, are such diverse elements as…
“a general lowering of moral standards throughout society
“a rise in infidelity
“a lessening of respect for women by men
and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope….oooooo!
That is the first thing that popped in my head, the monty python skit. Also, and illustration from a catechism instructional from Jr. High that was a pencil drawn sperm swimming along with a tiny man curled up inside of it.
*facepalm*
Eddie is a strange bird. A mix of the medieval and the modern. How he ever became as libertarian as he is puzzles me, but hey…we’ll take him.
Yeah, Eddie’s alright, weird paleo-Catholicism or no.
Don’t tell him I said so.
You mean Onanism?
Flyinjism
How can they have a footprint? I was told there were no boots on the ground.
There aren’t. They’re leaving footprints because they took their boots off first. As a show of respect to the host country.
Something like this?
Droneprint.
That was Syria, and they will be nowhere near Syria, right?
It is kind of an answer to Trump’s question last night about why we broadcast our plans to invade places like Mosul. Well, Donald, they probably have people watching the airfields and other bases, and monitoring Iraqi troops as well. This buildup will be seen by the bad guys; the public announcements are to reassure people that the government is on top of it.
I heard announcing when and where we are going to attack was effective psychological warfare.
Today is Columbus Day, so of course, politics and outrage over how awful the man was and attempts to change the name of a holiday that nobody actually observes anyway (except as a day off).
Speak for yourself, I’m already on to Home Alone 2 in my viewing party.
Maybe RBG isn’t their homegirl afterall.
2 strikes against Kapernick, now, unfortunately, after he dared suggest Hillary also may have flaws like Trump.
I suspect RBG’s diss has something to do with that.
The reaction to this is hilarious because people who idolize her are forced to disagree and people who hate her are forced to agree.
I didn’t idolize her before, and I don’t agree with her now.
Didn’t mean anyone here. Meant the right and left wings on social media.
I don’t pay attention to them.
You don’t even own a TV?
I watch sports and movies, for the most part. Local TV news, however, is horrible.
Dad watches shit like Cops.
Ted, we have to get you your own place. Crusty is nearby, and you guys could have a sick bachelor pad.
Actually, that’s going to be my Jewish New Years’ resolution. Even though you’re really mean to me.
“Shut up. My dad lives with me.”
-Ted S.
I wonder if they’re going to put her on a Supreme Court leave of absence, like the professor who complained about Black Lives Matter.
The proggies and the feminists have a way of moving on when their idols cease becoming even more and more hardline along with them.
That said, I’m guessing Ginsburg is saying it’s dumb because she’s an elitist at heart.
RBG says she is Dearly Bummed? Wait,… what?
Fucking Dyslexia is a helluva drug!
My favorite Podesta e-mail (from Bill Ivey):
Dear John: Well, we all thought the big problem for our US democracy was Citizens United/Koch Brothers big money in politics. Silly us; turns out that money isn’t all that important if you can conflate entertainment with the electoral process. … Secretary Clinton is not an entertainer, and not a celebrity in the Trump, Kardashian mold; what can she do to offset this? I’m certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over, but I think not. And as I’ve mentioned, we’ve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking – and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging. Rubio’s press conference yesterday AM was good and should be repeated in its entirety, not just in nibbles. I will attend the Clinton fundraiser here next week but as I can only afford the low level of participation may just get to wave without a “hello.” I fear we are all now trying to navigate a set of forces that cannot be simply explained or fully understood, so it is and will reamin interesting! “
Jesus.
‘Compliance is fading’. Just take a page from the cops or your commie idols and put a bullet into the noncompliers.
Full Metal Omelet
I’m late to the party but as a fan of breakfast, that movie, and crushing other beings to achieve my goals that shit was funny.
Claw clap
“conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry”
It’s worked very well also. Besides in this chat room, no one will think much of that. The American citizenry have already been dumbed down to the level that they will willingly accept a dictatorship in exchange for a little free stuff.
they will willingly accept a dictatorship
Although it will have to be messaged appropriately. Most Americans will still have a knee jerk reaction to the word “dictator.”
Which is reminiscent of the ancient Romans’ aversion to kings. Even as Julius Caesar was accumulating all the power to himself, he was very careful to continue to style himself in the republican manner while his enemies denounced him as a king. Heck, the Senate continued to exist for centuries after it ceased having any legislative powers. Symbolism is a powerful thing, even when it’s empty symbolism.
Nice comparison. Republicans were more than happy to cede power to the state so they could be kept safe from terrorism.
I think you’re reading in the wrong mindset. I’m thinking, he’s talking in the general, and being sarcastic and doesn’t like the fact of “an unaware and compliant citizenry”
He blames the other team, and just reading that line, without any context, it could be easily posted on these boards and would be understood to be a lament on the civic education of the population, and an indictment of those we blame for the state of civic education.
Funny I was just listening to this podcast on the same subject.
reamin(g) interesting
Excellent Johno!
So our John is actually Podesta?
It’s Bill Ivey writing to John Podesto. “Bill Ivey is an American folklorist, and was the seventh chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts.”
Shorter Podesta: “Something’s afoot. The natives are restless and we’re all suddenly smeared in Worcestershire sauce.”
Heh.
I think he means “we” as in “society” or “America.”
The part of that sentence I have a problem with is the word “conspire”. Society isn’t conspiring against itself.
The ruling class looks after the ruling class. Part of that includes conspiring together to create a population of cattle to rule over. Make no mistake, they see you that way and they absolutely are conspiring together.
Bill Ivey is a proponent of a Department of Culture and government control of the arts, etc… I expect nothing less than full-throated appeals to totalitarianism from him.
Since when have Democrats demeaned the institution of government anyway
When it was thinking about prosecuting them?
When they needed to do so to whip a culture/identity war?
I’m curious about the “Rubio speech” he’s referring to.
This is real??
Fucking hell. Why isn’t this the lede on every right-wing news site in existence? (Hell, in a sane world, it would be the lede on every NEWS program in existence).
I find it odd that the third officer hasn’t been named. He was released from the hospital with no mention of a gunshot wound.
Something tells me that he pulled a Brave Sir Robin.
You start a war (war on drugs, war on gangs, etc), you shouldn’t be surprised when your enemies start to treat it like one.
I’m almost surprised it doesn’t happen more, but I suppose the gangs know how the game is played and dead cops are generally bad for business.
Cops are easily bribed, especially if the alternative is real danger. mostly they’re too busy collecting taxes.
Cop and gangsters aren’t all that different.
Two police officers killed in Palm Springs, California, over the weekend were apparently targeted by a gang member intending to kill police, according to the suspect’s own father.
Yet another family with an awkward Thanksgiving to look forward to. Thanks, dad.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she thinks the sports-related protests of the national anthem to publicize police abuse are “really dumb.”
Other things Ginsburg thinks are “really dumb:”
The 1st Amendment
The 2nd Amendment
Staying awake for longer than ten minutes at a stretch
The 3rd through 10th Amendments
Wearing anything under those robes (rowr!)
You forgot about Amendments 11-27.
The 13th Amendment was already repealed by the 16th, but everything from the Progressive Era on she’d probably be down with.
There’s no way she thinks the 21st Amendment was a good thing. It takes away a government power. Her and her colleagues have had to spend a great amount of effort undoing it.
Wasn’t she drunk at the last state of the union or something?
Isn’t she all always? Why do you think the Supremes don’t allow video or audio recording in the court?
And I’m pretty sure Roberts huffs paint.
Probably. But that one was an actual new item.
You do sometimes get audio now. The times when you don’t must be when she is really sloppy, and Roberts thinks he’s an airplane.
“Donald Trump’s weekend fallout continues. House Speaker Paul Ryan says he will not be campaigning for Trump or defending him”
Does anyone really give a shit about this? Seriously, anyone?
I do. Paul Ryan is my favorite Tom Clancy character.
I think he played Eddie Munster in the teevee when I was a kid.
That’s Meg Ryan, dumbass!
I didn’t realize that Paul Ryan was ever campaigning for Trump. He’s been saying for months, at every opportunity, that the latest Trump scandal was one bridge too far.
To be fair, he’s in a tough spot. The speaker of the Republican controlled house is kinda on the hook, eh what?
No its what not?
Thank you for your valuable contribution.
not what?
nit wit!
Wednesday is already taken by some Jew holiday.
I can’t remember the name, but it’s where I eat food in front of my wife and she gets mad.
Yom kippers.
Where’s Swiss?
I can’t remember the name
W…Wednesday?
Not quite
Oh wait, I get the joke, it’s where you eat bacon in front of your wife and she gets all pissy.
Any food, really. It’s a day of fasting.
I pick her favorite foods to drive the point home. And then SHE has to apologize to ME.
It’s one of my favorite holidays.
Back when I was married, had I left the cooking up to my wife, every day would have been fasting.
Didn’t you have to sign a Ketubah that says you’ll give her exactly 3 orgasms a week and never give her agita, or something?
I outsourced. Thanks, amazon!
I always wonder if the reporting of those dates take into account the missing 11 days.
after a physical ailment was confused with a psychotic disorder.
ouch, a shot across the bow of psychiatry saying the ailments they treat don’t have a physical component.
a social worker, who do mental health evals all the time but rarely have even enough medical training to know what a blood pressure means.
The all too powerful shitweasels of the mental health and substance abuse industry.
Crony capitalists who couldn’t survive without a government enforced captive “consumer”. Kinda like DUI classes and interlock providers.
‘Snowden’ Actress Shailene Woodley Shares Her Own Arrest Video Via Facebook
“because I have 40,000 people watching.”
Jill Stein might have a sad over this news
So might Woodley when she realizes that not that many people cared.
Are you suggesting Jill Stein should have gone into porn?
She still should.
I don’t blame the actress for this, but Divergent was terrible. Absolutely horrible pastiche of YA sci-fi tropes.
She was OK in The Descendents (granted, I might only think that because she spends 80% of it in a bikini). In everything else, she seems to just speak in a terrible, flat monotone.
Yeah, her acting ability isn’t nearly as amazing as the entertainment press is pimping it out to be.
Maze Runner takes the prize for worst YA science fiction.
Sometimes I’m jealous of YA scifi writers. Seems like you just need to slap a few tropes onto a gimmicky dystopia with a female lead and suddenly you’ve got that movie deal. I mean, everyone genre-savvy over the age of 25 hates your work and your influence on the medium, but you’ve got idiot teenagers to cover your bills.
No shit. It took 25 years to make Enders Game, but Divergent gets made in a year or two. I’m giving the first Hunger Games book a pass because it was good for the genre. The Hunger Games Empire Strikes Back was decent. It was just when she tried to turn part 3 into Return of the Jedi that it went south on her.
A man in Waynesboro, Virginia, has settled a lawsuit against police there after he was forced into an involuntary psychiatric care for five whole days after a physical ailment was confused with a psychotic disorder.
Does mindless authoritarianism count as a psychotic disorder?
Was the psychotic disorder a delusion that he had a physical ailment?
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she thinks the sports-related protests of the national anthem to publicize police abuse are “really dumb.”
Is it the protest or the very idea that police abuse anything what she finds dumb?
Hope and Change is Dead
Meet, “Despair and Cynicism“, the Millenial cohort’s updated zeitgeist
Somehow the answer to The Atlantic is more Democratic leadership.
Millennials are growing up. It’s taking longer but is happening nonetheless.
“Hildog will succeed in all the areas where Obama failed by maintaining the status quo and giving us more of the same shit.”
Going down the line – probably would, would, would, will let Tonio and Jesse fight over him
In the picture, the guy on the right has the most accurate expression.
as a presidential nominee, you’re running to be president of everyone
barf
Is it standard practice at The Atlantic to give the gender and race of everyone they interview?
Amanda, a 27-year-old human-resources worker who’s also a single mother enrolled in a holistic-health certificate program.
Oh lord…
Nobody ever went broke overestimating the gullibility of the American public. Good on her.
She reeks of potential future earnings.
I’m guessing her certificate is in addition to whatever college and debt she has.
If she never went to college and has no debt, then godspeed to her.
Are holistic health services “hands on” cause depending on what she looks like…
And listens to Lorde
Feelin’ good on a Wednesday!
Her excitement about Obamacare, she said, has given way to dismay at her rising health-insurance premiums and deductibles.
Amanda, remember when we told yo… never mind.
My thoughts exactly.
Virtually all the participants were aware of Johnson’s recent gaffes and said they viewed him as unqualified.
Hillary knows exactly where to bomb.
And NONE have them actually watched the interviews in question. They just saw the FB memes so that’s good enough for them.
Today is Columbus Day, so of course, politics and outrage over how awful the man was and attempts to change the name of a holiday that nobody actually observes anyway
The usual hooplah aside, it always seemed strange to me that he got his own day for basically stumbling ass backwards into the wrong continent.
The Native’s ancestors just stumbled into the continent as well.
They had no idea what a continent was much less any conscious plan of traveling to a different one.
Of course they did manage to transform the place into a perfect Eden living in absolutely perfect peace and harmony with nature and each other and spending most of their time standing around gazing meaningfully off into the distance being noble savages and stuff.
And then Columbus and those mean, nasty and bad Europeans showed up and totally ruined the whole thing.
They fucked all the free pussy and brought syphilis back to the Old World.
Thank you Gilbert. I am glad someone gets it, but you forgot about them doing lots of self portraits on velvet.
The usual hooplah aside, it always seemed strange to me that he got his own day for basically stumbling ass backwards into the wrong continent.
Columbus Day was one of the first “celebrations of diversity” the country had. The holiday effort was led largely by Italian immigrants who wanted to show that one of their own was responsible for America eventually coming into being.
From ‘Locker Room Talk’ to ‘Muslims Report Stuff,’ the Internet Strikes Back
My favorite type of story, when journalists copy and paste tweets and make it seem important.
Second to only Tweeting about your assaults is to Reason comment about your assaults, so please, comment your assaults to me.
My first assault: a young lady liked to fondle my genitals (through my pants) during my high school years. I have yet to recover.
Crusty Juggler Fondled; No Survivors
I’M SO BRAVE!
I’m just glad to hear it was a young lady.
He didn’t say how young. Only that he was in high school.
For very, uh, unconventional values of “young.”
Beats choking hookers.
I regularly went to Morgan Fairchild’s place to get assaulted by her.
Dunphy is that you?
Possibly.
I’m rewatching The League with my wife on Netflix. She had never heard of negging until Andre tried to describe it to Pete.
She had never heard of negging until Andre tried to describe it to Pete.
then how DID you two meet?
Her friend (who my wife perceives to be hotter) was trying to sleep with me at the time.
smooches
My last assault was ruled by the arbitrator to have mitigating circumstances, so I was desk leave for three months and had to watch a sensitivity-training video of my choice – I chose Die Hard – then it was back on the streets protecting the public!
/not dunphy but one of his other brothers in blue
My first assault was when I molested this 12-year old girl named Kelly Oxford.
Am I doing this right?
Oh, and I had a problem with a young boy fondling my genitals when I was a young boy. It was me. I’m a self-abuse survivor I suppose, but it’s a condition you don’t really conquer, you just learn to live with it.
You’ve conquered it to death. Yes, that is why you are blind now.
Having read the transcript, I don’t see the problem. Every single womanizer I’ve ever met has said similar things; if you think you can get laid, it won’t hurt you to be aggressive. Men spend 90% of their pre-marriage lives trying to figure out when the first part of that sentence is satisfied and Trump, someone who is extremely rich, famous, and extroverted, likely picks up on it sooner than most people.
It’s troubling to me that this mundane bit of boorishness brings about the vapors in so many people. This is nothing I haven’t been hearing from blue collar and white collar braggarts alike since I was 13.
You don’t really think it’s giving people the vapors, do you? It’s giving people an excuse to attack a rival.
Didn’t Trump basically say “they’ll LET you do anything” (emphasis mine). Meaning consensual, no?
At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it’s breathtaking, I suggest you try it.
Ahh, this reporter uses more commas than I do!
When I was younger I was constantly sexually assaulted by me.
There’s a name for it: twatting
When I was 14 my girlfriend’s mother threw me on a pool table and fucked my brains out. I totally didn’t see it coming. I couldn’t believe it happened, so I went back a dozen times or so over the course of six months to make sure it was real.
I am still traumatized to this day.
*lights a cigarette. Smiles broadly*
My first assault…
I was a 16 yr old virgin when an older, “more experienced” lady (she was a 17yr old non-virgin) plied me with alcohol and marijuana in order to take advantage of me- twice- the same night.
You cannot imagine how that affected my life!
“a holiday that nobody actually observes anyway (except as a day off)”
I think that describes a *lot* of holidays.
Canadians.
When I used to commute between Baltimore and Columbia MD I loved Columbus day – basically had my own personal freeways.
Indigenous people!
People who work for the government and bank employees – that’s about it.
Government workers
Happy Columbus Day!
For those who feel the Bullshit-Levels in the MSM aren’t high-enough yet…
Clinton/Trump “Body Language”-Analysis
snippets:
And Clinton? She smiled too much.
And somewhere on the internet someone has written the exact same thing, but positively about Trump because it’s “ALPHA AS FUCK.”
I’m sure Longtorso will have the link for us today or tomorrow.
He negged the shit out of her.
Did he grab her pussy afterward?
Considering that all of this is in his head? Probably, but no one was hurt.
His hands are too small for that.
+2 for the hand reference. Good job, collect your winnings from Palin’s Buttplug…heard he/she/xe is a great payer of debts.
It’s a steel trap, he would have never gotten his hand back.
And Clinton? She smiled too much
That was just a glitch in her programming.
A man in Waynesboro, Virginia, has settled a lawsuit against police there after he was forced into an involuntary psychiatric care for five whole days after a physical ailment was confused with a psychotic disorder.
Voluntarily living in Waynesboro may itself be a sign of psychotic disorder.
At least it isn’t Danville
Waynesboro’s not so bad if you love Applebees and Walmart. The views of the mountains are pretty nice at least.
The abandoned carpet factory is derelict chic too.
Is that the DuPont factory?
The old Mohawk Carpets plant

When Aggressive Certainty Belies Itself
“”As of last week, Clinton’s White House chances 95 percent: Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation””
I don’t doubt that many good modeling systems show that Clinton has a better chance to win
What seems to undermine the high degree of certainty is the vehemence with which this is repeated constantly, and the state of absolute panic the entire media seems to currently be in
“they doth protest too much”.
So I’ve been fucking w/ this breakbeat by this dude….
….apparently he was some “one hit wonder” of the early 70s. This was his One Hit. Its good! catchy. The whistling and farty-arp-bass is…cute. It sounds like it would have fit right into K Billy’s Super Sounds. its something i think little kids would really like.
You’re….
You’re not sober right now, are you?
Dead sober. What, you don’t like it? maybe i’ll skip music-links
I like your links but I don’t always click on them. It’s better than some oldie we’ve all heard a thousand times or the metal that is somehow considered acceptable around here.
Don’t make us go all metal on you.
My favorite Metal(ish) record i found on Youtube
Kinda Black Sabbathy…interesting. I likes it.
I know I’M not.
Somebody has been sneaking into Agile’s stash. Drink some milk, I heard it can help.
milk is good for more than pepper spray?
An awesome one-hit wonder that would go over well with the little kids nowadays: Vehicle, by Ides of March.
A marching band standard.
What are you trying to tell us, Crusty?
That I like a rockin song featuring instruments and lyrics that would make the Twittersphere’s* head explode.
*I hate myself for using that word.
No.
That you were in color guard.
No, I am a racist.
I’ve heard this one! No wonder you like the older ladies.
YEAH
I was listening to that just the other day. Slamming. I think all that stuff happens to be in a viscious cycle in my youtube feed. the more of it i listen to, the more of it they throw at me.
Less high energy, but something i came across last year, is this track by Smith
Its the sort of thing i’d cover if i were in a band. the beat is nice.
Returned to Living Proof.
This guy makes some of the most legit modern “90s style” Hiphop beats of anyone out there right now.
Its mostly very derivative – but in a very good way. Pete Rock, Large Prof, Premier-style. He’s got like a dozen records. I have no idea why he’s not producing for bigger guys. (e.g. like the new De La Soul record, where they’ve actually formed a kickstarter just to raise money to make the @*#&$* thing) I know the sampling M.O. isn’t as popular as Trap beats, but id think there are still a few people who do it (e.g. Eminem, Nas, JayZ, et al)
Pete rock and j dilla made for many a driving Playlist.
This is good. So many samples in the first minute.
I don’t really understand the point of a poll being released the day after a debate that does not include peoples’ reactions to the actual debate.
Everyone knows women hate the idea of billionaires talking dirty and manhandling them. That’s why the 50 Shades of Grey books were such a flop.
You’re going with all women secretly want to be fondled by a 70-year-old, orange scumbag?
I am going to have to disagree with that premise.
He was younger and less orange at the time.
Also rich. That has been known to help.
No, i have it on good authority that money and fame make no difference
And men like action movies, so they must enjoy getting shot at.
/also stolen from Twitter
You’re getting increasingly desperate.
I read American Psycho but I m not into psychopaths murdering me.
Convince me that Trump isn’t Lex Luthor.
You can’t have two villains and no heroes in a movie. Well, you can, but it usually flops. Before you paint GayJay in a cape, keep in mind he would have to be a winner in order to be a hero.
What about [SPOILER ALERT] the movie *Hero*?
Whew, ok. I had a weird dream where I was in the plot of a superhero comic and I knew the events that were going to take place but no one would believe me. My REM time may be cliche but it can be pretty entertaining.
Luthor had an evil plot to destroy valuable real estate instead of developing it.
Tax write off.
Trump doesn’t have a sidekick named Otis.
Sure he does – Chris Christie. Perfect sidekick name even. “Squeal like a pig, Chris!” – Trump
Lex Luther is a genuis.
Luthor is, at least in his more modern form, the antithesis of Superman because he’s an ordinary human who has achieved all he has through his own skill and ability, and thus elevated himself to the top of humanity through his brilliance. That’s why he hates Superman, because he’s just naturally better than human, without blood, sweat or tears. He’s supposed to be some version of the Ubermensch, i.e. if Superman wasn’t around he’d be the one saving the world and getting all the praise.
There’s many words you can use to describe Trump but ‘physically and intellectually superior to the common man’ aren’t ones I’d use.
*Breathes sigh of relief*
Well put, I’m convinced.
House Speaker Paul Ryan says he will not be campaigning for Trump or defending him, focusing instead on promoting House candidates and the GOP agenda.
Has Hillary told him what the GOP agenda is going to be yet, or are they just sticking with the “keep your head down and look busy” agenda that’s served them so well for so many years?
Bananas T Bear – Next Time, Take The Bus
Try to read this as if you didn’t know who wrote it:
“Imagine, if you will, the ship of state moored at the dock in a peaceful harbor. A storm comes and it slips its mooring lines and starts to drift out to sea so that those on the ship can barely see land. Then one day they can no longer see land and they have lost their perspective of where they are. Later they forget that there ever was land.
“The two major parties are pushing us further and further away from the constitutional republic that is America….
“…Religious liberty is at risk from both the Democrats and Republicans. Over 60 million babies have been murdered by abortion, 4.4 percent of our population is in prison or on parole, one of the highest incarceration rates in the world. One in every eight American men has a criminal record.
“According to FBI statistics, 800,000 Americans are murdered, brutally assaulted or raped every year….We may have drifted so far from the Constitution that we have lost our perspective of who we are.”
Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden advising against a $15 minimum wage, a key progressive goal during these past four years.
Ha!
I picked up the new Doom on PC because I felt like playing something fun. I hadn’t played a pure shooter game since Halo 2 and HOT DAMN Doom is really fun. I remember being 10 years old and playing the DOS shareware version and thinking it was the best thing ever. It still is. Rarely does a game feel both fresh and nostalgic. Mmmm…Doom. Fuck intricate plots, let’s go shoot some demons.
Speaking of “Very Old Games”
my videocard melted the other day, and i had to stick in some ancient thing as a replacement, and just on a lark i was checking to see what games might run on it. I downloaded a few of those old “Rainbow 6” games from early 2000s. haven’t played yet but am curious what they’ll be like so many years later.
I play Go. That’s more ancient than any of your games. :-p
I had the shareware version.
Do you still have to push spacebar to open doors?
Yes!
I haven’t tried the new Doom but I spent many hours playing Doom 2 over the 14.4k baud modem as a kid. 🙂
IDKFA
Where is your IDDQD now!?
I enjoyed Doom a lot more than I was expecting. I think the soundtrack guy did a great job with the industrial djent stuff. I was expecting glory kills to feel contrived and time consuming, instead they mostly feel awesome.
I can’t play straight up shooters. I like action RPGs with guns though, like Fallout.
I like Fallout and the last game I bought before this was Fallout 4 but I needed something a little more ADHD where I didn’t need to worry about inventory management. Just good plain fun broken into easily digestible levels that take about an hour each to blast my way through.
I’ve actually noticed a surprising low amount of outrage over Columbus Day this year, thank God.
The People Who Get Outraged are off chasing the latest shiny thing, BLM or whatever.
There’s an abundance of things to be outraged at. Columbus day is just filler for when there aren’t meatier targets.
I keep getting sent this picture.
The answer to most of those questions is
-running a casino
or
-inpatient treatment for alcoholism
Glad I did my research.
The tribe that used to live here is the richest tribe in the country. And I was actually at their casino on Sunday. I lost $40.
Agua Caliente band of Cahuilla Indians is pretty damn rich too. They own a lot of land that the hotels are built on in Palm Springs, plus several casinos.
If you’re curious, go to google maps and search Bogert Trail in Palm Springs. Switch to Satellite view.
Yes, that’s an “Indian Reservation”.
The tribe that used to live here, the ones who left stone flakes all over my yard, were some of the most notorious cannibals in NA. Savages. Bullets well spent.
Well, I’m not sure where the tribe that used to live here is doing now.
As far as the tribe of which I’m a member; what is going on there now depends on the definition.
Are you talking about where they are living now?, or where they were living in 1492, because they were forcibly removed from that area and marched 1000 miles to Oklahoma. (by, among other people, a direct ancestor of President Obama)….*where’s my reparations check, Barry?*
What has happened mostly is that we’ve assimilated into American society to the point where there are Senators with suspiciously high cheekbones claiming membership.
I feel like replying, “If they don’t pay property taxes, then fuck them”
They’re all dead.
“Whose land do you live on”?
Well, technically, the Bank’s, but according to the deed, it’s all mine baby.
Who’s land do you live on?
Whatever state that is willing to both maintain its ownership through violence and maintain its legitimacy enough for the people living under it to accept it. Welcome to the statist world kid. If you don’t like it, the anarchist table is over there, and let me tell you, they’re not really into the whole ‘ethnic ownership of land’ deal either.
What do/did they call themselves?
Get back to me when you can tell me what your own ancestors called yourselves five hundred, a thousand, or two thousand years ago. Here’s a hint: your identity probably wasn’t consistent over that period of time. Neither were the peoples you are talking about.
What was done to them?
If the answer is “they got smallpox and then the majority of them became Catholic and integrated into French Canadian society” you’re probably not going to stop complaining, are you?
How do you benefit from that?
How did they benefit from the constant tribal conflicts over land that characterized pre-contact North America? How do you benefit from your ancestors’ migration into Europe? Willing to cut the Welsh or Basque a cheque over that?
What are they doing now?
If my answer is ‘many are engaging in self-destructive behaviour like alcoholism or getting fucked by their own people in a broken tribal system that has little to do with the treaties their ancestors signed three centuries ago’ you’re going to hit me, aren’t you?
Ask yourself why and find out.
Because for the vast majority of people this has no effect on their lives, especially considering that most of them don’t even care about their own history that much? I mean, unless the author is willing to discuss Doric and Phoenician influences on early classical societies and what not.
Get back to me when you can tell me what your own ancestors called yourselves five hundred, a thousand, or two thousand years ago.
“The help” is what I imagine.
Oh, they called themselves what every tribal people called themselves:
“The People”, in whatever language they were using at the time.
A picture like that is just begging for a snarky response:
Whose land do you live on? – America’s!
What do/did they call themselves? – Americans!
What was done to them? – Nothing, they’re winners!
How do you benefit from that? – I win!
What are they doing now? – Winning!
If you can’t answer these questions, ask yourself why and then find out. – USA! USA! USA!
Whose land do you live on? My bank’s
What do/did they call themselves? Capital One
What was done to them? They got bailed out
How do you benefit from that? I have the “benefit” of paying the bailout
What are they doing now? Making shittons of money
If you can’t answer these questions, ask yourself why and then find out. Fuck off you moralizing prick.
“Whose land do you live on?”
The State of Ohio’s- I pay $5k/yr in property taxes for the privilege.
“What did/do they call themselves?”
Public servants.
“What was done to them?”
The Brits, Frenchies, and Americans all kicked their collective asses- that’s why it’s Ohio’s land now.
“How do you benefit from that?”
Cheap cigarettes from the Rez, and the occaisional casino trip.
“What are they doing now?”
Taking it up the ass from the Feds for 200 yrs but still prefer drinking on the Rez, and wanting more people in their casino.
“It took me s-o-o-o-o long to find out,
And I found out.”
Whose land do I live on? Mine. But the HOA keep insisting that they run it. What are they doing now? Probably plotting how to make some homeowners pay for another survey so they don’t have to pay for reinforcing parts of around the pond that are crumbling.
It’s because that battle was already won.
I like this email. Talking Points on Clinton Emails
Below is a draft of a document for Adrienne to give out to allies going out on shows this weekend. Please review and send any feedback. Thanks
By “allies” he means “the media” right?
It would interesting to see that list.
I’ll give Clinton this, her team monitors the news like no other.
ugh
Listening to local radio on way home. Every call was about media hypocrisy regarding Trump versus Clinton. They all were defending Trump.
Everyone knows talk radio is a rightwing cesspool except for the noble souls who bring you NPR. NPR is unbiased because it is funded by listeners like you.
+1 This American Life tote bag
Even the people with TDS have to admit trump has done us a great service with his exposure of hillary and also of the media.
I bet no one has ever talked to hillary like that before. She’ll win, but at least she got a taste of what she deserves finally.
Unicorn sighting in jersey.
During the daily break room derp fest, a lone voice from the corner table rang out, talking up Gary Johnson.
She tried to talk about his economic philosophy but was shouted down by “who’s that?/he’s the guy who doesn’t know what Aleppo is/ etc.”
She’s a new employee. I went over to her table and expressed my pleasant surprise in hearing anybody there support him.
Tomorrow I will sit at her table and dig a little deeper once I’m fully recovered from discovering this rare creature.
I saw a Johnson/Weld yard sign yesterday, and a bumper sticker last week, in Jersey.
Yay! Everyone at my work loves talking politics. I avoid it pretty hard, but they know what i am. Theyll still bring up dumb johnson things as a joke when they get backed into a corner by the opposition. They still cant get past the talking point of no foreign leader. He knows no names!! As if that was the question asked.
It’s so weird that nobody ever talks about hillary here. It’s just non stop trump hating.
Nobody likes her.
Yeah at work there’s lots of trump fear. One guy here is an actual socialist. So he spins for hill bad, but i laugh at most of it. Its just pathetic arguments and i cant believe no one questions it.
What’s funny is the same people who think trumps gonna deport them are saying they’ll move to Canada if he wins.
The retard really comes wrt to politics. These are educated people but you’d be surprised they can dress themselves if all u talk about with them is politics.
I do enjoy the threats to leave. More power to ya.
I try to avoid political talks with coworkers. I tend to move to a meta libertarian stance. Talking about force or regulatory capture makes their faces go blank. Then ill hear allepo or something.
I love ragging on my mom. Last Christmas, I was asked my opinion on the primaries-
I said I would like to vote for Rand, but he wouldn’t be in the race when we voted in March (correct). Asked about Trump- “He’s an idiot Democrat posing as a Repub because Hillary is going to win the Dem primary” (correct and correct). Hillary? “Crooked-ass warmongering neo-con who has done nothing but grab hold of Bill’s coattails and ride as long as possible.” (self-evident)
Every time I send her an e-mail, I remind her that she’s more “qualified” than Hillary because she even knows how to do e-mail on a computer…
Tomorrow I will sit at her table and dig a little deeper
So, she’s cute, huh?
Would
Chief Seattle raided and slaughtered many of his surrounding tribes and took dozens of slaves. I don’t see anybody complaining about the glorification of his memory.
Brietbart has gone too tranny gay house for me…
***LIVE AT 8PM EST*** MILO Performs Art Piece At ‘Daddy Will Save Us’ Exhibit In NYC
#I MISS CIS GENDERED EISENHOWER REPUBLICANS
Okayyyyy…
That’s slightly more than your preferred amount of tranny gay house?
I’m just saying I miss conservatives that drive Oldsmobiles and play golf. Right-wingers these days seem to be more into their Symbionese Liberation Army moment these days and it’s gotten way too weird.
Too hard to stereotype. Got it.
Gee, this seemed to hit a nerve. Did you go to Milo’s Big Gay Daddy Will Save Us Party, Playa.l? Maybe it was a good time. Don’t know. Just probably weird though.
Well considering he also misses socialists that put Muslims into forced labour camps I think amsoc’s just a bit of a traditionalist. Or a moron, I wonder which is more likely?
Is there an auto play ad on this site again? My phone tells me reason is playing something. I cant hear it, it disappeared after a minute or so.
Clinton on “It aint like it used to be, when you could just topple a regime over the weekend”
Another fake scandal, huh?
I don’t think Americans have ever been good at “covertly” intervening, Hill.
+1 bay of pigs.
Who do you think put Bonaparte in power and finally stanched the Revolution in France? Ol’ TJ. That’s why he sold us Louisiana cheap.
My great great grandfather built a log cabin on the Brushy bayou in 1802, a year before the Louisiana purchase. They went that far away from the river because everything close to the river was already taken. Napoleon sold Louisiana because it was infested with Americans who had, and I won’t sugar coat this, a bit of difficulty doing what they were told by Top Men. He couldn’t get rid of them fast enough.
Not a trump fan (tired of that preface, but people are ‘tards), but am confused why there is no story about how he stomped hillary’s dick into the dirt last night in the debate.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
Oh, bravo.
You think? His sheer douchebaggery drove me into being, uggh, With Her
You are confused by that?
go back upthread and read the Bill Ivey email to Podesta.
