A Walmart employee upset over a missed promotion took his manager and another employee hostage Tuesday before he was fatally shot by police, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Authorities have identified the employee as 54-year-old Mohammad Moghaddam, and cited the promotion dispute as a strong motive for the hostage situation that eventually led to his death...

...The tactical team made their way inside of the office and reportedly found an armed Moghaddam and the manager inside. Moghaddam was then shot by two SWAT officers and is believed to have died immediately.

Neither of the hostages suffered injuries.

About as good of an ending as one of these gets.

PB, that poll appears to have been conducted mostly before the Pulse Massacre (according to RCP, 6/10 to 6/13). And, on top of that, is an outlier of the recent RCP averages. Two things to think about:
1) Regression to the mean is likely here.
2) Pretty much all polls taken so far favor Trump on terrorism. If you take a terrorism crisis and make it prevalent, that is likely to swing things his way.

The Bloomberg poll is the first major telephone survey since the mass shooting, heightened furor over Trump's statements about the judge, and Clinton's June primary victories in California and other states that cemented her status as the presumptive Democratic nominee.

The GOP is going to bet butt-fricked unless some big changes occur (possible, of course).

MAYBE 50/50 before and after. But that's, again, making the assumptions that 100% of respondents knew about and had internalized the attack.

While the shooting didn't alter the poll's night-by-night findings in the presidential race in any significant way, the incident did alter the trend lines on other measures.
The proportion of Americans saying the nation is on the right track dropped to 19 percent from 27 percent, when compared before and after the Orlando incident. The share saying terrorism or the Islamic State is the most important election issue rose to 28 percent from 16 percent.

These are major knock-on effects that likely have not materialized in the 'who would you vote for' question yet.
