Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is going to fundraise for Sen. Ted Cruz, whom he loathes utterly.
Yeah but who doesn't.
I was there...no 'View Comments' on P.M. links, just a nice blank 'Leave a Comment.'
Grabbed'n'tagged a headline, thought of stupid witticism, and...I wasn't logged in.
There is no God.
There IS a God, and Fist of Etiquette is His prophet.
Pbuh!
Anyone drawing my likeness is going to lose his head... over how handsome I truly am!
Pshaw!
La ilaha ill'H&R, wa Fist rasul'H&R.
He feeds on locusts and wild honey!
He beats his sword into a plowshare! Well, he beats it into SOMETHING.
*Dunks Citizen X into the Jordan River*
Even the Jordan River's got bodies floating.
Good afternoon.
While going to grab lunch today, saw a guy in green standing outside a bar, puking, while one of his friends helped him stay upright. Pace yourselves, people.
I knew a guy in college who stayed drunk for nearly 20 straight hours one St. Patrick's day. He did the puke'n'rally thing at least twice.
My last birthday
I did that for about a year.
I knew a guy in college who stayed drunk for nearly 20 straight hours one St. Patrick's day. He did the puke'n'rally thing at least twice.
I call those 'weekdays.'
Afternoons.
People don't skip work to pace themselves.
That *is* pacing!
That's what he gets for such blatant anti-Irish cultural appropriation.
Do not puke more than once an hour.
Were you in Canada?
So Graham finally went ahead and sold his soul to Lucifer?
They really should just put that somewhere in the oath of office.
I'm sure Lucifer told him it made for a poor meal.
Hello.
She's likable enough.
She's likable lickable enough.
I will see myself out.
"President Barack Obama is reportedly privately telling donors to line up and support Hillary Clinton, which should surprise utterly nobody."
So.... no jail for her then.
No jail, but still problems.
What problems? The Media are actively ignoring the blatant illegality of storing and transmitting Top Secret and above material on her unsecured homebrew server. They've decided it's not an issue, so it's not an issue. USA is fuxxored
Trump will throw her shit out there every chance he gets. And when Comey acts, that will be covered by the Media.
You mean when Comey resigns?
Yes.
And Obama preemptively pardons her.
Your optimism is touching
Don't forget the mixing of Clinton Foundation and State Department business
Whaa???
I thought the Clinton Foundation was State Department business?!?
You've got that backwards: The State Department was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Clinton Foundation.
So.... no jail for her then.
Maybe Bammy was talking about her (upcoming) legal defense fund.
You and Rico talk to each other about how to troll the commentariat, don't you.
It's not like that's a difficult task that requires coordination, JB.
That link isn't even Trumping.
It's some bizarre overreaction.
"A Donald Trump presidency poses a top-10 risk event that could disrupt the world economy, lead to political chaos in the U.S. and heighten security risks for the United States, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit.
Electing Trump could also start a trade war, hurt trade with Mexico and be a godsend to terrorist recruiters in the Middle East, according to the latest EIU forecasts."
"It's some bizarre overreaction."
Yep, that's a polite way of stating it.
Yes, why are we ignoring the positive effect Obama had on terror recruitment? Since the hated Bush has been gone, Islamic terror has been on the retreat around the world, right?
Right?
Well, there is that JV squad in Syria, the Boko Haram guys in Nigeria that still haven't given those girls back, the Islamists in Libya showing us Smart Power at its Best, Northern Iraq ceding territory to the JV squad, and the Taliban taking over Afghanistan, but other than that things are swell. I mean we've killed like 9 million Al Queda Number 2's.
So that's like 400,000 decks of cards.
That's the link? Tundra is right, this was covered this morning. Lazy.
President Barack Obama is reportedly privately telling donors to line up and support Hillary Clinton, which should surprise utterly nobody.
Who the hell else are they going to line up for?
You know who else people lined up for?
In 'n Out?
Debbie, in Dallas?
Wham? Oops, I mean, Wham!?
Yev Kassem?
The one cashier working in CVS at any given time?
The Drill Instructor?
The Charmin bear in Venezuela?
Houston?
Soviet citizens, for delicious bread.
Shackford: this is how links are done, bitches.
And the answer to the question is "Not nearly enough"
Disclaimer to Justice Dept: This is political satire and is not to be taken in any way seriously as a threat.
"According to the EPA, Flint, Michigan, is hardly alone in problems with lead poisoning in the water."
College campus water supplies.
It would explain so much.
I blame the privatization of the water systems in places like DC.
Terminated University of Missouri Assistant Professor Melissa Click, in her own words: "We should all be concerned about the larger issues my situation raises."
The lack of adequate muscle.
Insufficiently subservient media?
This sentence
is the most self-serving justification for assault possible in the English language. She really is an top-shelf communications scholar, I guess
The murder only took a second. I've been PERFECT the rest of the time.
Someone should tell Click that she incited violence and is no better than Donald Trump.
I think she's trying to make a career via the Sandra Fluke route.
No shit. Reading her piece actually made me hate her more. What a self-serving, disingenuous piece of shit. "Do my First Amendment rights mean I have to be perfect? I mean, what if nobody ever took a chance?" Threatening physical force against people because you dislike their presence for political reasons isn't "exercising your First Amendment rights", you slimy weasel. Do you have to be perfect? No, you just have to be semi-reasonable, law-abiding, and not a gross embarrassment to your employers, you stinking would-be Red Guard thug.
She's a BLM Dindu Nuffin' supporter. The mindset isn't so hard to understand when you see it through the lens of a cradle to grave entitlement mentality.
"We should all be concerned about the larger issues my situation raises."
She's concerned about decreased enrollment too?
That's very gracious of her.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is going to fundraise for Sen. Ted Cruz, whom he loathes utterly.
Who loathes who?
I doubt Cruz thinks about Graham much at all.
Grammar slammer:
Who loathes whom?
Gays don't typically support conservative Republicans.
The Senate has voted to hold ad site Backpage.com in contempt for refusing to comply with subpoenas for information about how it screens ads for sex trafficking.
If you can no longer advertise on Backpage, then it'll force people into the BackAlleys.
Back door shenanigans.
"Sure, I'm flattered. Maybe even a little curious."
Bored to death?
How do you hold a website in contempt? Is it blocked from all Senate computers?
That's got to be terrible for business.
Let's see if anyone can top Scott's alt text.
CAPTION CONTEST:
"The Constitution? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL."
"And then I said, 'but what about the first amendment?'"
O: [screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech!]
C: [screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech!]
"And then I told Chris Stevens, 'Don't worry! An extraction team is en route!'"
Too soon?
What is this, Pansyland?
We have a winner!
+1 Winner!
+4 winners.
And then I said, "I'll give up those emails when I give up my secret service detail!"
Arf! Arf Arf! Arf Arf! Arf Arf! Arf!
"Leggo my pecker, Barack! Owowowowow"
O: "Dirty bitch, I hope you choke on your false teeth."
H: "Don't try to steal this like you did in 2008, and I've got my eyes on the White House, so no stealing the silverware."
no stealing the silverware.
"They" (we) can buy more.
Also buty.
Pfft, like there has been any silverware left since January 20, 2001.
Hillary: "Can you imagine the look on their faces - eight years of hope and change, and I'm still here!"
Obama: "God, I do love the long con."
"Coochie-coochie-coo!"
You talked Biden into eating what?
"I can't trust Donald Trump to do the right thing. However, I can trust Mrs. Clinton to do the exact wrong thing. Therefore, if it comes down to a one-on-one contest, I would vote for Trump."
It's as simple as that.
*spits out the tap water*
Nobody is safe.
Statement From Conservatives Against Trump By Erick Erickson | March 17, 2016, 01:18pm
For the LULZ
Short version: We were just kidding when we said we wanted tax cuts and were against illegal immigration.
They're trump supporters?
You think Trump is going to try to cut taxes? How would the government take care of healthcare then?
Kill the sick. It's cheap. It's the one solution that plays to Government's strength. The unintended consequences probably include a massive improvement in people's eating and exercise habits. Really it's the perfect solution.
John Kasich, Mathematically Eliminated from Winning Nomination, Now Competing in Utah Only to Deny Ted Cruz the 50% Winner-Take-All Threshold and Deliver Delegates to Trump
He's sort of a cunt, right?
Or a Trump minion.
I wonder if Trump's already made him a deal for the Vice Presidency.
Kasich is the awfulest
"I wonder if Trump's already made him a deal for the Vice Presidency."
Postmaster General
He wants to be Not Sure?
can't it be both?
Not 'sort of'.
Are Utah voters that stupid? Are these Kasich supporters in the beehive state delusional and think he will win or do they just live Trump?
If they love Trump, why wouldn't they just vote for Trump? I'm going with "delusional."
Utah has the 50% rule: If one candidate gets at least 50% of the vote, then he gets all the delegates.
Suppose Trump gets 48% of the vote, and the not-Trump vote is 52%. If Trump and Cruz are the only two candidates, then Cruz has over 50%, and he gets all 42 delegates from Utah. If Kasich gets, say, 3% of the vote, then Cruz only has 49%, and the votes will then be apportioned, giving both Trump and Cruz 21 delegates each.
Yes.
Brotailers Are Redefining How Guys Buy Clothes
Call them the brotailers.
I will do no such thing.
This is a group who hates shopping and would happily wear the same pair of sweatpants every day if society didn't frown upon it.
I wish society would frown upon it a little more. I mean, I'm not fussbudget like Gilmore, but at least try when you leave the house, people. Try.
I am continually amazed at the stores stuffed with decent clothes, acres of them, yet the people schlubbing through the aisles appear to always leave them at home in the closet before going out.
schlubbing
Culturally appropriated.
You...you...you....elitist!
Some people believe in discriminating against the fashion challenged. That should be illegal.
People who wear pajamas to the store should be treated like Syrian refugees.
I wear a trenchcoat.
I'm probably the least style conscious person in the world in my day to day dress. But at least I wear real pants and a belt and tuck in my shirt. It doesn't take much effort not to look like a total slob.
Sponge Bob pajama pants aren't real pants just because there are belt loops.
Says who?
My pajama pants have little trees and moose on them, thank you very much.
As it was written, so shall it be that Gilmore just received a nickname. The term fussbudget is going to make me laugh forever.
"fussbudget"?
I'm familiar with "Fussbucket".
I was also unfamiliar with the term, which is why it was fun, Fussbudget.
Yes, fussbudget:
fuss?bud?get
?f?s?b?j?t/
nounNORTH AMERICANinformal
a fussy person.
Mr. Fussypants.
Fuck you. Why try if you still get regular pussy?
I have no clue what that said, and I want to tear my eyes out just looking at it.
the tidy, tailored aesthete who favors J.Crew
J. Crew is overpriced garbage. It's quite low quality for the price tag.
Secret Service apologizes for delay in letting Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams into the White House for a St. Patrick's Day event. By the time things were cleared up, Adams had left.
"If he'd only jumped the fence we'd have let him go in," explained a Secret Service spokesperson. /sarc
Was Peter King there?
I'd let him in and tell him to his face what an evil shit he is.
"Sorry, man. We were all wasted, y'know?"
He thought Barack O'Bama was one of the good guys.
Economist: Trump Presidency a Global Risk
You know who else was a global risk after election?
I need to invest in diapers. I'll at least get a nice vacation out of it.
Nobody has any fucking idea what Trumps policies are going to be. Shit your pants first, ask questions later.
I've been assured, however, that the unspecified policies will be terrific
I've been assured that because they're unspecified, he's definitely going to do X, Y and Z. Just forget about A, B and C.
I'm going to vote for Trump in the hope that if he wins all the elitist Top Men collectively shit themselves all at once.
Unless Biden somehow ends up the nominee - then Biden for the LULZ
If a system allows a single person in a particular office to pose a global risk, then I think that system needs to change.
Remember that time liberals raised no concerns whatsoever when the Obama administration assassinated American citizens without due process, used the NSA to spy on everyone in the entire country, deployed troops to Libya without getting a vote for Congress because they knew it would be rejected, and used the IRS to silence political enemies? Well, now there is a legitimate chance that Donald Trump will have all of those powers.
Herpaderp permanent Democratic majority or something....
Barack Obama?
Well, Mr. Economist, where the hell were you and your amazing insight the past two decades that has led to Trump in the position he's in? It all rolls forward from the absolute fuck up that's been going on the last two decades, as a consequence of the stupid shit of the previous eight decades before that. NOW that we're entering the beginning of the last stage - collapse, NOW is the time to point out that we have a problem? Way to be on top of it.
If ONLY someone had pointed out the bullshit BEFORE we got here!!!
http://www.barefootsworld.net/nockoets0.html
Do you mean "erection"?
So....
The last 4 times that Obama came to LA, blocked traffic, closed streets, gridlocked, and made me late....
He was essentially fundraising for Hillary Clinton???
BLOOD PRESSURE RISING
Social contract, bitch.
This is why I often say that the president shouldn't be allowed to go anywhere. There is no reason he can't conduct all his business from the Whitehouse or Camp David. Traveling anywhere else is just an unacceptable imposition on people just trying to live their lives.
But what are our measly pathetic excuses for lives compared to his glowing majesty of existence? Ask yourself that.
Yes, we should be grateful that he graces our cities with his magnificent presence.
I live in Hyde Park - we get the Barack Experience with some frequency. Twice, I've had black strangers bitch to me about how those visits fuck things up (one even used profanity).
Well, good. Some people get it.
Perhaps the way it should be put is the Presidency should be so limited in its Powers that he or she should be able to walk down a typical street in an average US city without all the hullabaloo.
Just another pointer toward the absolute tyranny we are subjected to on a daily basis that has become so intrinsic we don't even know how to frame civic function rationally.
Adam Carolla suggests that he do these fundraisers in a hanger at the airport. They can set up some tables, pose for photo ops, give a tour of Air Force One - and nobody's traffic is screwed up at all.
It's flat out wrong to use the power of the presidency to fundraise.
Even with Carolla's idea, it still fucks up air traffic. And, last time I was at LAX, they shut down all of the surrounding streets when Obama arrived, even though he transferred from Air Force One to a helicopter.
I'd prefer he not come here at all.
Especially for fundraising.
It is claimed that the DNC pays back the treasury for these things. I don't believe it.
It's just laundering taxpayer dollars into campaign funds for the party in power. And it's stealing money from the pockets of the people sitting in traffic or stuck on the runway while they wait.
Yeah, I doubt he is paying back every cent of his travel and security, the travel and security for all of the officials and helpers that follow him around and probably a bunch of other stuff I'm not thinking of. And he certainly isn't paying back all the people he inconvenienced for their lost time and business.
Really. Same story in Philly. Stay away, asshole.
Ah, good ol' Shackford links.
*Glares at Robby*
You have to wonder if Robby even wants to work here anymore.
Writing for Reason is not for everyone.
Gotta have thick skin. Someone get Robby some krokodil.
You think he doesnt?
The Reason insurance plan doesn't cover emergency haircare. He'll be testifying in front of a Senate committee if these wrongs aren't righted soon.
People bitch about Marvel and Netflix's casting for Iron Fist. Even though Iron Fist was white.
Iron Dick is Asian
I thought Rza was the man with the Iron Fist?
I think the current narrative about Iron Fist in prog-world is that the very premise is racist or triggering or cultural appropriation or something because a white guy was able to do martial arts better than any of Lei Kung's Asian students or something.
I keep hoping we're fast approaching the day when Marvel (and others in their situation) realizes that they'll never win with these people and stop trying to cater to them. They can make Thor a woman, cast a black guy in the Norse pantheon, create a whole show for Luke Cage, and make Spider-Man a half-black half-Hispanic guy, and all they'll ever hear back is that it's not good enough.
Gay Iceman is the one that irks me the most. Captain America could easily become a legacy character (Bucky took up the mantle when Rogers died a few years back), the nature of Mjolnir allows for a woman Thor so why not give that a try for a while, and Ultimate Spider-Man....well, different universe, so sure, whatever.
But gay Iceman makes no sense whatsoever.
Agree, though, that nothing will ever be enough. That's one of the fundamental tenets of progdom
Well Thor actually has a female counterpart. Thor Woman? I don't remember her name, but there's no need to castrate Thor.
Are you thinking of Sif?
I can't find her on the interwebs. I have the first issue of an old Thor spin-off comic from 80's with her on the cover, I think it may have been non-cannon however, as I've been assured that the issue is utterly worthless.
She's probably from an alternate universe. 80's comics were fond of those.
I have been sketching out a fantasy novel in which the protagonist, a warrior of great renown, has a series of female sidekicks, each of them brave, true, and wholly dedicated to the art of combat. They all die quickly and sometimes horribly because they're small, slow, and weak compared to the men they're fighting.
On the other hand, Shogun: Total War long ago taught me that women make excellent assassins.
+1 Quiet evening with a Geisha
That was actually a glitch. I stopped using the geishas altogether because i was just wiping out entire clans.
I should point out that I don't really have a "problem" with any of the examples I listed. Even if the decisions about the new identities for the characters were made entirely for what might be called "political" reasons, that doesn't preclude them from becoming good stories (though I'm not much a comic reader these days, so I can't vouch for any story lines specifically).
But what really bothers me is someone with no stake in the whole thing at all like the writer of this article demanding that the stories *they* think ought to be told should take precedence over everybody else, and when you get enough people thinking like that it really does inhibit creators from telling the good stories they want to tell, because every aspect has to be geared towards ever-greater levels of pandering.
Good on you for being the bigger man. I'm still boycotting all things Flash in protest of losing my red headed Wally.
To complain of continuity issues in DC is even stupider than complaining about continuity in Marvel.
The loss of red headed Wally wasn't a continuity issue. We were dealing with a whole new earth. It was a big ef u by editorial to Wally fans so they could win some social justice points.
He probably lost his red hair when he didn't go back in time to not fight the Nazi with Superman who wasn't there either and then the Anti-Monitor blew up all the universes and red hair in Earth 6 -- Earth infinity. Ummm duh.
I take it someone didn't like The Multiversity
I actually have that trade sitting on my shelf right now. I haven't gotten to it yet because I still working my way through Geoff Jones run of Flash.
He probably lost his red hair when he didn't go back in time to not fight the Nazi with Superman who wasn't there either and then the Anti-Monitor blew up all the universes and red hair in Earth 6 -- Earth infinity. Ummm duh.
Dude he was just in the closest since 1960. It happens.
Umm. Really, that's the one thing in Marvel's continuity you're worried about?
No, nor did i claim as much. It's just the identity politics change that irritates me the most.
So these guys want Marvel to deal in stereotypes. I would think people would be happy that they didn't go martial artist = asian.
The only reason Iron Fist exists is that Marvel couldn't get the rights to the Kung-Fu tv series and Shang-Chi wasn't as popular.
NERDS
Right? Everybody knows Wolverine or GTFH!
What a cute picture of Hillary and Obama. How can anyone think they're bad?
Ms. Click ain't getting the love in the comments under her (let's be honest) excuse. She deserves what she's getting.
You know who else doesn't get the love in the comments?
Shikha Dalmia?
Shikha?
Dammit!
Shiksa?
Robby?
The commentariat?
Brothers and sisters are natural enemies. Like Reason commenters and Gawker. Or Reason commenters and Salon. Or Reason commenters and other Reason commenters. Damn Reason commenters. They ruined Reason.
What a bunch of dicks
Slammer, apparently?
Ha!
No one cares, slammer.
I CARE GODDAMIT!
Nicole?
Shrike?
She's getting pasted.
Also, um, in that picture...
Would.
Yes, I would too.
I am happy to see she is getting slammed hard in the comments.
If you didn't know about her repulsive personality, she wouldn't be terrible looking at all.
Click? She has resting cunt face. I look at her face and it makes me physically hurt from the intense disdain.
I'm not saying she's anything special, but I think your reaction would be different if you knew nothing about her as a person and you caught her at a moment when she wasn't making an effort to look all pissed off and intense.
Possibly. But then there's that whole ginger thing, 9 out of 10 times its a non-starter for me. I'm okay with day-walkers and strawberry blondes though.
Are we looking at the same nose and teeth?
Congressmen Seek to Add Sexual Orientation to Census
"Despite this critical mission, ... even the most basic of statistics ? the number of people who identify as LGBT ? cannot be counted."
"The most basic of statistics"? More basic than the number of people who *masturbate*?!
It's the only reliable way to find out where they live.
I mean aside from Grindr.
Go on
I'm a trans trans lesbian. I only have sex with women. Which box do I check?
If she has more than one box, the census ain't your biggest problem.
LOL !
"Yeah, of course i do it. Everybody does. You're a liar if you say you don't. Yeah, i use peanut butter."
+1 German Shepherd Dog
On the next Census they will ask: How basic r u?
1) fu!!!!!! 🙂
2) prolly a lil
3) af
4) Starbucks orders are 8 words long
D) Baesic
Numbers, letters...whatevs *takes douchey selfie*
"Basic"?
Goddammit. The census should count how many people there are so congressional seats can be properly divvied up and that's about it.
Oh god, why would you ever open that can of worms. They do know about the 'Pansexual' vs. 'Bisexual' war going on in the LGBT community right? No matter what they put down there are going to be protests.
Is there an actual war I've missed? I'll bring popcorn?
Having googled... IT IS SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD.
Yep, semantics are a bitch!
"We should all be concerned about the larger issues my situation raises."
Laws ought not to be applied indiscriminately. You might catch the wrong fish in your net.
St. Patrick's Day is cultural appropriation.
"Everyday Feminism Magazine offers a deeper understanding of cultural appropriation: "a particular power dynamic in which members of a dominant culture take elements from a culture of people who have been systematically oppressed by that dominant group." Basically, for there to be cultural appropriation, there must be a majority party that is taking important, celebrated aspects of another, more oppressed party. It is impossible for a person from an oppressed culture to practice cultural appropriation because, more times than not, oppressed people have to adopt aspects of the majority culture whether they want to or not. When Irish people first came to the United States, especially after the potato famine, they were oppressed and marginalized by the other people who already lived here. Furthermore, most of the people who celebrate St. Patrick's Day now do not understand its cultural significance. Thus, St. Patrick's Day is, in fact, an example of subtle cultural appropriation."
He uses Everyday Feminism as his source.
Is "schlonged" OK because his daughter is Jewish? How to decide that issue?
LOL
"Some examples of cultural appropriation had lasting, positive effects on one culture, while negatively affecting another. The best example of this is the way African American music has been taken over by white people. Many Americans mistakenly believe that Elvis Presley, "The King of Rock 'n' Roll," was the first person to produce that style of music. Rock 'n' Roll music, one of the most appreciated musical revolutions in history, was not invented by Elvis, though. Actually, Rock 'n' Roll comes originally from African American artists. Even the term "Rock 'n' Roll" is appropriated from African American culture ? originally existing as black slang for having sex. "
Yeah, and basketball was invented by a white guy from Kansas! The fact that today the NBA is overwhelmingly black is an example of cultural appropriation since 5'10" white men like myself have no chance of ever playing for the Chicago Bulls!
Pish-posh. Basketball was invented by a white guy from ONTARIO!
But he invented basketball while living in Kansas because he realized great things aren't allowed to come out of Canada.
Except Lauren Southern. You guys at least have that.
Huh. All this time I thought he did it in Massachusetts.
I heard Lauren Southern smells like pee.
YOU BITE YOUR GODDAMN TONGUE
Alan Freed calls bullshit.
Alan Freed? Wasn't he Jewish? Shouldn't he have used "Schtupping"
How perfect that he ignores the Irish contribution to 'African-American music' in his St. Patrick's Day essay.
Yep, and all those instrument those guys used came straight out of Africa right? No way they were invented by white people right (sans drum of course, which was invented by some three year old with a stick before humanity was even a thing)?
I've always wanted to design a bumper sticker reading "26 [in green] + 6 [ in orange] = 1 [in the Union Jack design]".
I guess it's only subtle because the Irish still have white skin.
Chicago Turns Green for St. Patrick's Day
"To dye the river, a large boat chugs up and down flinging the emerald dye, which comes from an environmentally safe *orange* powder..." [emphasis added]
Chicago *River* turns green
Given all the drinking....
none of the members have actually revealed the true recipe.
Not even to the EPA?
They want to be like the Packers....
You can get murdered in Chicago for words like that. And lots of other things.
It seems weird, but there isn't much reason that something will look the same in solution as it does as a solid.
Maybe Robby can tell us about the larger issues she means.
President Barack Obama is reportedly privately telling donors to line up and support Hillary Clinton, which should surprise utterly nobody.
Getting a head start on his new career as a bundler? What's the conmmision on that?
I can't click on the Click article because I've used up my Washington Post privileges, but this article says the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is raising procedural issues:
"The AAUP has cited a 1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure and a 1958 Statement on Procedural Standards in Faculty Dismissal Proceedings as norms for dealing with cases such as Click's and cited those statements evidence that Click was denied due process."
How many people accused of rape are denied due process?
Students of certain genderal persuasion do not count!
AAUP to Investigate University of Missouri's Dismissal of Melissa Click
"Normative practice among American institutions of higher education is that a faculty member with indefinite tenure?or a probationary faculty member within the term of appointment?may be dismissed only following demonstration of cause in an adjudicative hearing before a faculty body."
Which would have recommended that Click receive the academic equivalent of Extra Training.
just use an incognito window
I see.
So, this article describes how she was compelled as a matter of conscience to disrupt the homecoming parade, a month before attacking the student journalists.
see here
She doesn't seem to get to the whole thing with her and the students, just focus on her conscientious, risk-taking decision to block the parade.
Great, more innuendo.
Some of these masturbation euphemisms are not abstract at all.
You dig hard enough, everybody's denied due process. Most of the time, nobody cares. Most of the time, you're not dealing with pubsec unions.
Also - use a proxy search engine like Startpage to google* a few choice words and find the article to bypass some of the limited-free-articles-per-month wall.
*Startpage does use Google, so I don't think it's quite wrong to use the term here, it's not like saying "use Bing to google that".
So an Irishman walks out of a bar...
Just kidding.
Your stereotype of my people is extremely accurate and thus offensive.
All Melissa Click wanted to do was take chances on behalf of racial justice, you cishetero libertardian bigots.
We could see Duke vs Yale in the second round of the NCAA tournament? That has to be white privilege, right? I am outraged!
Does this call for a Magnum?
And Yale has a player who is totally a rapist!
Yale won! I am outraged! PROTEST!
"a particular power dynamic in which members of a dominant culture take elements from a culture of people who have been systematically oppressed by that dominant group."
And then... what? Jesus Goatfuck, talk about zero sum thinking.
When appropriating Yiddish it is best to only use the bad parts. Or the good parts. Depending.
Schlong.
Who could have seen that coming?
"We hired a hot teenage babysitter, and my husband slept with her"
"When Leo was 1, David recommended we hire Simone, an 18-year-old aspiring actress whom he mentored. She would show up in low-cut tops and miniskirts, but I thought that was just because girls are so overly sexualized in Southern California. When a friend of mine told me that she had spotted them together in the street, I assumed that they were discussing her career."
"Other parents warned me about Simone, but as a feminist who works with at-risk girls, I didn't want to pass on a new babysitter just because she was overly sexual. I thought she was just a lost, damaged kid. I thought if I didn't hire her, it would make me look like some old insecure troll. I was trying to prove to David that I was cool."
Cuckquean
Hawt.
Sounds like everything worked out. They were miserable, she's happy the marriage is over, so far the ex-husband is still with Simone. That last part may not work out, given enough time, but who knows.
A modern feminist would have licked Simone into oblivion. And then married her.
A true feminist would propose a threesome with the 18-year-old babysitter as a means of exploring a different sexual dynamic.
That sounds like a unicorn.
Yes, but babysitter is male because fighting gender roles, so.
Sucks for the kid though.
I don't believe any woman is that stupid "I'll be home late honey. I've got to do mentorship things with that hot 18 year old aspiring actress"
I think you underestimate the stupidity of people.
Sure, she tripped and fell and checked for videos...
Wait, the computer originally belonged to her, but he has a video on it dated from before they got together? This seems hinky. Also, you were snooping hun. Just own up to it.
Oh wait, nvm. I've read the article now. Marriage came late in the relationship. Real situation is even worse. She was snooping on someone who wasn't even her significant other.
They were "dating" at the time - and they had the baby to prove it.
They were dating at the time he was cheating, but they had already divorced by the time she was snooping through his laptop.
Sorry, I couldn't keep up.
Jesus you guys, quit fucking up my hot babysitter fantasy here!
So, she could have had the Feds put him away for kiddie porn? She might be stupid, but she's either gracious or really really stupid.
Eh..I'd throw her a bone and bang her since she's cool enough to wear a t-shirt with Optimus Prime on it.
Be honest, you didn't really know which way Simone went, and figured you had a 50/50 shot...
"After my divorce, I moved to LA in 2003 to pursue my acting career ? and, as luck would have it, David and Jack [his son by his late wife] moved to Santa Monica, Calif., not long after. For the first time, we were both single; it wasn't long until a few theater dates turned into a full-blown romance....
"...after six years of dating, I pushed David to have a baby. I was 40, and knew that this was probably my only shot at becoming a mother.
"We had Leo the next year....
"David and I eventually made our union official and got married in 2012, when Leo was 1?."
So she was shocked to find that her husband wasn't fully committed to the idea of marriage?
David recommended we hire Simone, an 18-year-old aspiring actress whom he mentored.
Pics?
What do you think is going to happen with a hot, 18 year old, overly sexual, lost, damaged kid?
I don't know why you libertardians are always picking on Melissa, who was only trying to help decent people make MU a more inclusive environment by excluding that Asian kid with the camera from their Circle of Inclusivity. She made a sudden choice to threaten a kid with violence; go ahead, name me a single college professor who hasn't done the same. s it reasonable to believe that she, as a public employee, be perfect in not threatening bodily harm to student journalists? Whatever happened to reasonable standards of conduct?
Look, I think we can all agree that nobody's perfect. Sometimes you've just got to threaten the Asian or pinch the secretary's ass. They're asking for it, really.
At this point, I think we can all agree that threatening a student photographer in the midst of a rally of frothing lefties is basically the 21st-century equivalent of Jesus Christ dying on the cross for the atonement of sin.
The problem is, I'm still hearing what Click is saying, so clearly her speech is still getting out there.
Among the debates and judgments the video footage of my mistakes has attracted, few have sincerely grappled with the sudden choices I had to make in challenging circumstances
Take that, you second-guessers!
"Its all-clear, Mr Kerry... the Russians are gone."
John Kerry Says ISIS Guilty of Genocide
The term tends to be whipped out as a pretext for increased military engagement. The way its being used here suggests they won't actually demand the UN recognize the same. The fact that they claim its multiple groups seems odd - which actually undermines the claim of genocide itself, which usually requires the claim that there is a systematic effort being made to exterminate some specific group.
Anyway, it just seems like nothing more than a continued shift towards pretending that US involvement in the region is 'all about ISIS' and human rights.... and not what we actually got involved there for in the first place = ousting Assad.
We certainly don't hear much from the left about how awesome the Arab Spring is. At least not as much as we heard from them about it in 2011.
In the defense of lefties and neocons, toppling strongmen usually leads to positive developments, as seen in 19th-century France and the February Revolution.
So... what's the word for when someone wants to murder everyone outside of their narrow group, except for retasking some baby factories?
Word of the day on H&R utterly everywhere: "Utterly"
Only two uses of it appear outside of the two Shackford links and quotations of it. Me and you being the only two.
Third time's the charm. That's when I noticed.
Notably missing from the buffet of 'genocide victims' listed by Kerry?....
Syria's Kurds rebuked for seeking autonomous region
IOW, the people most victimized by their neighbors in the region? and who simply want to guarantee their own security? Well, they're a problem, you see.
From what I'm seeing, the Kurds are the only group in the region remotely capable providing security in their territory.
I have a long, involved theory about how the U.N. stomps on regular people just trying to protect themselves in an unstable region. If you take up arms because the crazy villagers in the next province keep killing your people, now you're a "warlord" and subject to bombing from 30,000 feet until you disarm.
I've seen right-wingers making fun of this article about how right-hand privilege, but I'm 99% sure it's satire.
Right-handed people
I didn't realize for a while that nearly everything is structured for convenient use by right handed people, from school supplies to the structure of houses. Check your privilege. Don't try to silence a left-handed person who complains about scissors hurting their hand or how uncomfortable school desks are to sit in, or the struggle of having dirty hands from writing in pencil. This may seem petty (especially to the rest of the issues listed) but the world is made for right handed people.
Let's work towards left handed desks in classrooms. (If you're right-handed in a class with some left-handed desks/seats, please don't sit in it unless it's your last option. And please don't move it to the back!)
Their lack of dexterity seems sinister to me...
I don't know, Irish, are you sure Lauren Southern is insane enough to meet your high standards?
About the Author My favorite meal is the number six, vegan from Popeye's
You might be correct...
But, I still resent being forced to write with my right hand for 6 months in first grade...*
* Just ignore the fact that I had fucked my left hand up so badly that even my doctor told me (6 yrs old) to "learn to use your rightt hand".
Newark school system set to test children for lead
Expected to be the fist test in decades where students outperform
the fist test?
That sounds ... uncomfortable.
Meh.
More U.S. police officers buying insurance in case of lawsuits, union says
Which is weird, because you'd think all those union dues would be covering this stuff. What it really seems to reflect is just a different way of financing the same institutional protection.
I suppose that if we treated more infractions as criminal matters instead of civil matters, one wouldn't be able to buy 'murder insurance'.
Hold my whiskey and watch this

Oh yeah, that was the one where the French didn't drink any wine and the Italians covered up their statues. Nice.
Embattled SeaWorld to stop breeding killer whales
Now "just going to be friends".
Probably the only thing worse than being a whale forced to live in a swimming pool is being a whale forced to live in a swimming pool that never gets any sex.
[Insert "Free Willy" joke here]
Yes. Nothing worse than living in a swimming pool that doesn't get any sex.
Those sex deprive swimming pools are known to be hard to deal with.
President Barack Obama is reportedly privately telling donors to line up and support Hillary Clinton, which should surprise utterly nobody.
No it doesn't because she will continue Obama's racist war on drugs and the War on Womyn who Smoke Weed.

I don't know why Obama keeps doing it. It's almost pathological at this point.
Unless I finish this android upload first.
That's good for the environment. No humans.
Yes. This is how you troll the commentariat, Reason writers. You blockquote unfathomable text from a terrible article.
I'm imperfect, Tunds.
I'd totally nail Coulter.
Use a big hammer. It makes the nailing easier.
I like my ladies skinny but not Auschwitz skinny.
I'd totally nail Coulter
I'm not sure what would be worse, all the cuts and bruises from the sharp edges and bony protuberances, or being rolled over and getting pegged by her 8" clitoris.
Madonna regazzi. Non ce male.
Holy fucking bikini bridges!
How am I supposed to go on a date tonight after seeing that? You jerks.

Oh my god, it gets worse:
What brotailers offer is more than just a retail experience. "It's almost like these brands are creating safe spaces where dudes can be dudes," says Heidi Hackemer, founder of marketing agency Wolf & Wilhelmine. This isn't necessarily a positive thing. "We're in this really weird phase of masculinity, where all the rules are shifting," she says. "Everyone is talking about women, and Beyonc? is, like, 'Go kill it, ladies,' and Sheryl Sandberg is leaning in, and guys don't really know how to move forward. You almost see this regression into a safe space, which is the bro cave. I don't think anyone has told the guys what they're supposed to do now."
That is where I stopped, laughed, and realized I had to share.
I do like it when they lean in. Gives you a better view of the goods.
Homos. 'Nuff said.
She's a supermodel compared to Obama's Supreme Court.
Or Eleanor Roosevelt.
