Watch Matt Welch React to the Democratic Debate on Red Eye w/ Tom Shillhue
If I'm staying up this late, so should you!
At 3 a.m. ET, I'll be appearing on the Fox News program Red Eye w/ Tom Shillhue to talk about various drunk Millennials embarrassing themselves on social media, and also the recently, mercifully ended Democratic debate.

"various drunk Millennials embarrassing themselves on social media"
Look, it's Fox, you can say "hot drunk coeds" if you want.
"If I'm staying up this late, so should you!"
Yeah, but you're not offering to share you stash of cocaine, are you?
So we've been discussing Father Ted in another thread. Is it terribly insulting for Catholics or extremely insulting or do you take it all in stride?
And by the way since I've been binging this show in between studying and class and work, everything you say will be interpreted in broque. Forewarned is forearmed.
Could you link to the thread?
But I'm not sure how much I can contribute, not having seen the show.
OK, just read the Wikipedia page. It seems a lot of people watched it, but I'm still not one of them.
Maybe if I had a talk show I could talk about it without watching it, but given the scholarly standards of H&R, I hesitate to comment on a show I haven't, technically, seen.
Wait, you meant brogue, didn't you?
Begorrah.
Crap, not sure how a q snuck in there. This isn't some LGBT getup.
Anyway, I'm entertained but I have a sneaking suspicion they're taking the piss out of Catholicism most of the time. It's an English produced show but shot in Ireland with Irish actors, which maybe makes a difference. Whatever the case, it's humanizing about priests, I guess. And entertaining.
Ah, here you go, *First Things* didn't let me down.
This is an appreciation of Father Ted - style satire from a guy who, if not a Catholic, is at least a fellow-traveller.
The specific reference to Father Ted is near the end.

Here's Nick Gillespie's reaction:
The CNN stream was spotty so maybe it was all a big liberaltarian love fest when the candidates weren't talking about destroying individual liberty.
See my 11:30 comment.
Do you have a point?
Couldn't agree more. WRT liberty, Republicans and Democrats are equally abysmal.
Nick suggests the Democrats were less abysmal. I take it from Nick's impression there was some non-interventionist foreign policy/pro civil liberties talk from the minor candidates on the stage.
Um...no...can you read english?
While I think Republicans are SLIGHTLY less statist than Democrats, the actual difference isn't worth arguing about. Nick thinks the Democrats edge out Republicans. Big fucking deal. They both suck ass.
lol!
Read what you just wrote. You even picked out the bolded portion.
Nick defends his contention in a later post. He touts the Dems opposition to Iraq, except for the frontrunner who voted for it. The top two Republicans assert they opposed it at the time and continue to do so.
You really are stupid, aren't you?
So...
Nick asserts they are either equally abysmal or slightly less.
English, Motherfucker, do you speak it?
Settle down and be polite, boys.
