A Republican-led measure to defund Planned Parenthood failed to advance in the Senate last night by a floor vote of 53-46.
Well, it is a government program.
Government programs, like diamonds, are forever.
'Morning.
Government programs, like diamonds, are forever.
and a girl's best friend
As it was in the beginning establishment of the program, is now and ever shall be, world government program without end, amen!
I'm sure ENB will post a disclaimer-rich H&R piece on why this was a good thing.
She made the point that the Republicans wanted to de-fund Planned Parenthood, and then spend the 500 million on other medical programs they approved of. I think that is pretty important, and shows how the Republican party, even when they try to do something right, would have messed it up anyway.
That's just them covering their asses so that they have a comeback in case anyone says they hate women. It won't work and it's retarded, but it's what they do.
As noted before, PP is a major Democrat party donor, so the R's probably see this as a nice way to channel those federal funds elsewhere.
Yes. Planned Parenthood should lose its federal funding, but it is not like the Republicans were going to spend the funding wisely (or for the sake of the tucked balls of St. Cinnamon, not spend it).
Not all bad spending is equally bad. Then again, its the stupid party, so they might have made things worse.
500 million is a lot of money to send to favored constituents and church groups, etc.
There is nothing in the bill that was voted on other than defunding
And her point would be wrong because there was nothing in the bill about spending.

Hello.
"Hillary Clinton is now attacking Bernie Sanders for his views on race."
Will she demand to see his birth certificate?
The Pentagon is unable to account for roughly $800 million that it spent.
That's a lot of black ops.
That's a lot of cushy conferences for mid-level officers in Florida or Las Vegas.
General's posse ain't cheap.
You can't handle the truth! ?Son, we live in a world that has golf courses, and those courses have to be played by men with clubs. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Colonel? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep over those tax dollars, and you curse the generals posse. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That playing all those extra rounds and drinking all those extra cocktails, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves money. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that course, you need me on those links. We use words like handicap, Mulligan, Beer Cart Chick. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a bag and play a round. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
You win the entire internet today.
They probably just spent that shit on new chairs in the conference room.
I'f ain't at least a $B, it's just a rounding error.
A billion here, a billion there.
Seriously, what difference does it make?
We are being penny wise and pound foolish when it comes to criticizing government spending.
Or neither, really.
79) I think one reason I'm attracted to libertarianism is because I'm not a pussy. The two big parties' every policy seems a reaction against something they're scared of?terrorists, economic dislocation, Vladimir Putin, kidnappers, etc. But I don't feel scared, not in my neighborhood, not in my job, not in my life.
Recently our house was broken into and the medicines from our medicine cabinet were stolen. I'm a little more careful locking the door, but other than that my life hasn't changed. My wife asked if we needed a security system, a dog, a new front door with a better lock? No, nobody was hurt, and I don't think there's any real reason to think our neighborhood is less safe than formerly, so let's not overreact.
But on the national level, it's all overreaction. The drug war, the war on terror, the 1%, the immigrants, it's all about who can protect us from the scary things in life: Every issue an opportunity for national pants-shitting. But not libertarianism. Libertarianism is the only thing out there stressing self-reliance; making do; trust in your own abilities; getting or lending aid to your family, neighbors, and church, not the government. Personally, a movement based on courage and strength, rather than fear, is the movement I find more appealing.
You're cool with strangers breaking into your house? Seriously?
Somehow I don't think you're getting the message I'm trying to send out.
Also, I'm almost certain of who did it, so it's wasn't really a stranger.
You would be safer if you owned about 800 guns and, preferably, hung them on the wall.
So does being an "american socialist" help you score with chicks?
Like Bernie, he's swimming in geriatric poon.
I think he's said he's married. I know some guys parrot leftist and/or feminist talking points to get laid, but imagine the Lena Dunham-like chicks they must be getting...
In which case I'm betting massive cuck. Loves nothing better than watching his wife service several other men at once... for the greater good.
So...that's not hot?
You know, if you were a real libertarian, your medicine cabinet would be rigged with a nifty trap door, suspended over a pit of hungry man-eating orphans.
You would be safer if you owned about 800 guns and, preferably, hung them on the wall.
The only way he could afford that many guns is if he never paid his mortgage. Perhaps you could offer some pointers on that.
Also, I'm almost certain of who did it, so it's wasn't really a stranger.
You're "almost" certain of who did it? So it's presumably a relative of yours with a drug problem then.
Have you attempted to contact this person to ask him (or her) if he did it and confront him about it? If you haven't, you sure as hell should, as soon as possible. Because if you don't, it's going to happen to you again and again and again.
Trust me, the absolute last thing in the world you want to do is enable this sort of criminal, sociopathic behavior in someone.
I agree with you. Libertarianism is about self-reliance. Which is why a lot of people in this country will never be Libertarians. They want to be taken care of by the government, because they don't want to be responsible for their own actions. And that will be the downfall of their own lives and the rest of the country.
They want to be taken care of
Endless childhood...
I don't pin this on a unique trait of Americans.
Going back to the earliest records of government action (Mesopotamia, Egypt, China), one thing they have in common was the confiscation (and re-allotment) of grain.
Fans of government will say this was enlightened bureaucrats saving the masses from famine and drought, and ensuring a steady food supply.
It also ensured that the masses were dependent on the govt., and that self-reliance was an anomaly.
Yes one overwhelming similarity between virtually all states (political governments) is their practice of expropriation with impunity.
Everyone needs a dog. Except maybe for Ron Mexico.
Hey man, he said he was sorry!

Sara Thornton: Police may no longer attend burglaries
...Ms Thornton said burglary was an important crime for police.
"But think of the threat to our children from sexual offences, from sexual abuse, from online abuse, that's what we've got to prioritise," she added.
Even if this police force is no longer going to attend to burglaries, is it a good idea to publicize that?
"But think of the threat to our children from sexual offences, from sexual abuse, from online abuse, that's what we've got to prioritise,
So, yea, they'll basically be doing nothing instead of responding to their job. Probably some sting operations to bust backpage hookers and johns.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Oh, I love this.
Enjoy it, Limey's you have no one but yourselves to blame.
Now that Britain has thoroughly disarmed their populace (except for y'know, the actual predators) they announce that they will no longer offer what scant protection they previously had. HA! No way to have seen that one coming...
Now I will go back to stockpiling... stuff.
Maybe having the police concentrate on something else will cut down on the number of burglaries?
"online abuse" is more important to the cops than burglary?!
"But think of the threat to our children from sexual offences, from sexual abuse, from online abuse, that's what we've got to prioritise," she added.
Yep.
I bet they would respond if you told them you shot the burglars.
Believe dat.
This is the bigger problem. Injure a burglar on your property, and some progressive UK judge will force you to pay his medical costs for life. It is an insane system, and Eastern European criminal groups are starting to catch on that the UK is a soft target.
Your only hope in a rough UK neighbourhood is your Rottweiler, and they are selling like hotcakes.
I think that happens in Canada too. I vaguely remember the story of a farmer in a remote part of Alberta defending his property from three burglars (I forget if he killed any of them) and he was charged.
Something about 'reasonable force.'
IT'S FUCKEN ASININE.
"I bet they would respond if you told them you shot the burglars."
So don't tell them. Just call up and say there was burglary. Since they won't respond to that, no need to provide the other details, right?
"But think of the threat to our children from..."
This is now a sure-fire way to get me to not care one fucking bit about what a person is saying.
Isn't this the same Britain where thousands of children were molested by top people in British society and Muslim gangs and the government turned a blind eye to it?
Obviously, the cops were too busy investigating burglaries to look into that. Now their priorities are different.
Rotherdam indicates they were not prioritizing that either. Also, British LEOs cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.

We Spoke to Lauren Chief Elk, the Woman Behind #GiveYourMoneytoWomen, About the Power of Cold Hard Cash
When #GiveYourMoneyToWomen started surfacing on my social feeds last month, I thought it might have something to do with the way in which women are underpaid at the office. Brilliant, I thought, Give your money to women as a way of balancing out gender-based income inequality. But the idea behind the hashtag was even better than that: Women were banding together to demand payment for all the emotional work we do that goes completely unpaid?the exhausting work of being a tolerant, gentle, nurturing, listening woman in our relationships with men, at all times. Women put up with a lot of bullshit, and we have a science-backed term for it: Emotional labor. And as with any kind of labor, women are now ready and eager to get paid.
In the words of Jess Zimmerman, "Men like to act as if commanding women's attention is their birthright, their natural due, and they are rarely contradicted. It's a radical act to refuse them that attention. It's even more radical to propose that if they want it so fucking much, they can buy it." Bitch better have my money, indeed....
The fact that these women have to point this out leads me to believe they possess none of these qualities.
"Women were banding together to demand payment for all the emotional work we do that goes completely unpaid?the exhausting work of being a tolerant, gentle, nurturing, listening woman in our relationships with men, at all times. "
Men put literally no effort into relationships. When I go on a date, I usually just show up in a soiled wife beater, burp and fart my way through some shitty romantic comedy, and then say "wanna fuck?"
It hasn't let me down yet.
It is like we share a move.
And everyone knows how when you're in a relationship with a woman, you don't spend any money on her.
Of course not - she never got the newest car, new clothes, or a place to live that I paid for. Never evah.
That's how I ended up getting married.
It works for Florida Man
Pussy,
You're supposed to bitch slap the broad when she suggests a romcom and then drag her by her hair back to your bedroom.
Whatever happened to Virginian?
"the exhausting work of being a tolerant, gentle, nurturing, listening woman in our relationships with men, at all times"
Ha ha ha! This doesn't sound like a scene from my marriage....
Oh, right, it's actually women who put up with a load of emotional bullshit from men. Bitch must live in Bizarro World.
"Women put up with a lot of bullshit,"
And a lot of it is from other women. Like men.
listening woman in our relationships with men
*blinks several times*
If I ever meet a scientist that pushes a term like "emotional labor," there might be a problem.
we have a science-backed term for it: Emotional labor.
I just can't even
I don't see you with a fungineering degree!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iw_BE_X9sA
Ummm...there's a perfectly acceptable business relationship already for this pay-to-play system. But I'm sure these same women also bitch about "being treated like whores."
" Women put up with a lot of bullshit, and we have a science-backed term for it: Emotional labor."
I hate putting up with bullshit. That's why I'm not a feminist.
Yeah, it's probably extremely emotionally laborious going through life as a self-pitying modern feminist.
You, OTOH, have the emotional labor of being the squirrels' favorite victim.
" Women put up with a lot of bullshit, and we have a science-backed term for it: Emotional labor."
I hate putting up with bullshit. That's why I'm not a feminist.
With the squirrels....they always promise next time it will be different, and I'm sure one of these days they'll actually mean it.
how much am I supposed to pay for this nagging and will they stop when I don't pay because that is a deal I'm OK with..
What's the going rate for killing that big spider in the bathroom? I think men can present an invoice just as long and just as pricey as women can.
As a man with actual experience living with a woman... I wasn't the one demanding attention.
the exhausting work of being a tolerant, gentle, nurturing, listening woman
You want to know what is really exhausting? Coming home from work to a woman who thinks that description fits her.
Have you ever, as a man, complained that a woman in your life is not doing enough emotional work?
The Left's circle is now complete on the subject if "Free Love".
"the exhausting work of being a tolerant, gentle, nurturing, listening woman in our relationships with men, at all times"
How would these folks know how exhausting it is? I doubt they've actually done it.
And the kind of woman who's tolerant, etc. in relationships doesn't see herself as just unilaterally giving niceness away without return, but as contributing to a better relationship for both parties.
Or so I hear. I also hear that unicorns are pretty nice, too.
I can't slog through all that derp... where is this money supposed to come from? Cos they can't have any of mine, that is for damn sure.
Can't wait for the sexbot to come out...

6 Ways Modern Women Are Just Like Orcs
Roosh and ESB need to get together and have angry sex. It's the only way either of them will become human.
Pretty funny. Except I get the feeling he may actually be serious.
He is serious. Roosh is a horrible misogynist.
But I thought the problem was we didn't need all you men to take care of us anymore?
"Dying to protect a woman's honor was one of the paramount glories for a man, as it meant sacrificing everything to defend a gift from God. Motherhood was seen as the ultimate undertaking for women, as children were viewed to be the future of Christendom, a treasure not for losing.
Thanks to the rise of feminism and social degeneracy, all these womanly virtues have been replaced with a gender-neutral culture of slut worship, female masculinity, and the degradation of mothers in healthy families. Modern ladies are more likely to aspire to be a reality television star living in the estate of whoredom rather than a mother or devoted wife. Children are only valuable in their eyes if they fall into the stencil of single motherhood or are some obscure biracial mix that can satisfy the depraved fetishes of white liberal culture."
Oh for the days when men were men and women were women and sometimes the men raped the woman during a good old fashioned pillage!
Is this supposed to make modern women sound...wrong?
Women only exist to crap out kids and be subservient to men, so yes, modern women are wrong.
the estate of whoredom
What's a summer condo going for there?
The condo is cheap, but the HOA fees are like being raped.
Literally.
Nicole, of course, being a woman, you missed the funniest part because your tiny woman brain couldn't comprehend its brilliance:
"Children are only valuable in their eyes if they fall into the stencil of single motherhood or are some obscure biracial mix that can satisfy the depraved fetishes of white liberal culture."
DEY TOOK ARE WOMEN
I mean, how "obscure" can you get when your own race is going to determine half of the biracial child? All white women are seeking out Maoris now or something?

Hillary Clinton Loses Ground With White Women ? WSJ/NBC Poll
The Obama coalition was always a myth. I can't wait until 2016 when the retards learn that the hard way. Brown people aren't coming out to vote for Sanders or Hillary.
Yeah, they're going to vote for Trump (according to him). He says Obama has done nothing for "the blacks" and he will be the second black president after Bill Clinton.
No, they just won't show up. Like they normally don't.
8% of them will vote for Trump.
Trump is the closest thing to a rapper that national politics has ever seen.
Here's an old, boring white guy/lady. Are you excited yet?
I'm actually really surprised. I was certain a huge percentage had bought into the girl power bullshit.
Democrats want a realistic alternative (and its not Brooklyn Bernie).
They do, but they'll pull the lever for Hillary anyways.
And when I say "democrats", I mean "we". We want a realistic alternative.
I'm not surprised. Some women actually remember the Clinton presidency. Also, people are probably beginning to realize that she doesn't have a soul.
She actually has a soul, which she thinks she traded to Satan for the presidency.
In actuality, she gave it to Bill back in the 70's; he traded it a long time ago for some hookers and blow.

Donald Trump (24 percent) leads a fractured Republican field in the race for the GOP nomination in the latest national CBS News Poll.
Let's hope GOP voters are fucking with CBS pollsters.
Even if they are, this will give the liberal media a nice meme to repeat ad nauseam - that Republicans are anti-immigrant, stupid, and racist, and that the polls prove it.
If so, they were also fucking w the Monmouth poll takers, whose results yesterday came out even more favorably for Trump.
We do it for the high beams:
Is your office too cold? Blame men
Seriously ladies, do you want the heat turned up and be surrounded by sweaty male coworkers with pit stains?
The explanation provided in our office is that it has to be that cold in the whole building or the rooms with the computer servers will overheat.
That's what we tell the wimins - they still complain.
If they were home in front of the stove where they belonged...
The real problem is the one woman who brings in a space heater, and happens to be sitting next to the thermostat for the entire floor.
In my office it's the menopausal women who keep the ac cranked all day.
^THIS^
I had women in an office dressed like they were going to the beach always turning up the temp. I ended up moving to the other side of the floor to escape the heat.
You think they'd at least put on panty hose or stockings. It's not that hard to dress for the office. Lord knows I have to do it (I'm skinny and tall, so I freeze pretty quick).
My wife was complaining that her office banned open toed shoes a few weeks ago. This, from someone who, like a lot of women today, can pretty much get away with wearing anything to work short of jeans and t-shirt. Meanwhile I'm stuck in suit in the middle of the fucking summer in SC.
In my office women can wear skirts and sandals, but men must wear pants and shoes. I'd complain about it except that the result wouldn't be me wearing shorts and sandals, but rather no more female legs to look at. Not that they're the nicest legs, but it's better than nothing.
We had this rule in my high school.
A kilt protest ensued.
I had women in an office dressed like they were going to the beach

If they mean national programs, then all I'm gonna say is yeah-k.
Yeah, I think maybe he doesn't realize most "American" NHL teams consist mostly of Canadians.
I thought they were all Russians and Swedes now.
There are more Swedes than Russians. You'd be surprised but there are only about 28 Russians or so in the NHL. I'm sure the KHL plays a part in that. There are far more Americans - and growing.
Canadians make up about 55% of the league. In the 1980s it was around 77%.
A richly deserved beating? What? I thought the whole idea of the HitchBOT was brilliant. If it had only stayed away from Philly, the HitchBOT would have survived until it reached DC, where it would have been a guest of Congress, and it would have self destructed because of all the bullshit it encountered while there.
"These units are irrational. Imperfection! Must sterilize! STERILIZE!"
If it would happen only in DC...
Obviously there was a defect in HitchBOT's routing criteria.
Clearly Hitchbot broke the 'ass, gas, or grass' rule.
That is hilarious. He'll be first against the wall when the robot army rises.
Obama's New Energy Plan Could Cost $2.5 Trillion in Lost Economic Growth
Yeah, just like they said back in 2009.
Except wait -- gas, coal, and oil prices are all way down! Wingnuts always forget about market forces and supply/demand.
Yes. Drastically reducing supply while demand will remain constant or increase is a sure-fire way to bring prices down.
It worked for higher education.
It's working for health insurance.
What does that have to do with raising the cost of producing electricity from those fuels? Oh yeah, nothing.
Yeah, it is BRILLIANT the way Obama uses regulations and environmental policy to harness the creative energies of the free market and bring about ECONOMIC PROSPERITY!!!!
SCIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Supply side: up for natgas and oil, zero thanks to the fedgov.
Demand side: weak, weak, weak, as the global economy can't decide whether to flatline or contract.
Tell me why artificially constraining supply won't result in higher prices, unless demand is also weak? And tell me why a weak economy and weak demand is a good thing?
The fact that they pretend as if Co2 has a completely linear relationship with temperature is the most absurd thing about this whole fucking mess. As if carbon sensitivity is so proven and the figures so exact that they can predict the precise amount of temperature rise for how much is pumped even though they can't even show a clear relationship between rising Co2 and rising temperatures historically.
Fuck these crooks.
But, but, but... tipping point!
No kidding.
Obama is in full legacy mode.
Oh no, that's wrong. The miracle of Obama will lower energy costs and why that's a bad thing.

Probation May Sound Light, but Punishments Can Land Hard
Nice justice system we've got...
When I was on DUI probation I was responsible for the actions of others. So, when my certified breathalyzer technician unplugged the device for ten minutes and did not share that information with the breathalyzer company, I received a probation violation.
The process IS the punishment. And they need reasons to employ all those government employees. When there are incentives in place to keep people incarcerated or IN THE SYSTEM, then people will respond to them.
Solution: don't get in the system. Because then they got you....
Probation is worse than time in jail, mostly because it lasts longer, and has way more conditions connected with it.
And even if you get probation, which you successfully complete, if you get in trouble again a lot of judges assume that "this dude can't handle probation" (even though it was given and completed successfully before) so that option goes away for any future sentences, and even if not related to the prior sentence, which is unfair.
Probation is worse than time in jail
If this was strictly true, then nobody would ever take probation. Yet practically everyone who is offered it takes it. Probation is almost as bad as jail, which is kind of the point. The problem with probation is the problem with the criminal "justice" system itself: excessive sentences and unjust laws. If somebody was convicted of an actual crime and was serving a reasonable sentence, then there would be no cause to object to the terms of probation (except, perhaps, that they were too lenient); you can always go back to jail.

Yeahhhhh, glad I bailed after episode 5. There are times when a story really should just be a novel.
The last two episodes, especially episode 7, have been pretty good, and have finally made the season worth it. It just took far too long to get there.
I haven't seen the latest episode yet, but nothing about the story has been confusing so far. I actually think they're being way too obvious that Dan Dority from Deadwood was paid to plant evidence to close the case. And Frank's story is straightforward.

I am off to go be the typical selfish libertarian who hates everyone and is only motivated by greed and donate a kidney....I shall be back online whenever I can fumble my way out of the narcotic fog I hope to be in after surgery.

Oh, and while I am out ....

Good luck to you, sir. May the wings of narcoangels bear your burdens until wellness returns.
Good luck, amigo. And thanks for the compliments - they all apply.
We will donate your organs to the Warty Foundation for Justice and Peace.
I've said it before: Swiss has lost his libertarian credentials. A true libertarian would kill drifters/hipsters until a match was found, not give his own kidney. Disgusting.
Total respect, Switzy. You are a good person. Hope everything goes well for you.
Donate a kidney? You soft-hearted fool.
Bravo and good luck

All hail our new Corporate SJWs!
Meh, airline profit margins are so tight they can't afford any bad press.
Like it or hate it, it is always better to see these changes happen through market-driven means.
I'm not convinced that social signalling is exactly "market-driven". Because you know by next week there will be *zero* airlines willing to tow a lion, because nobody has the temerity to tell the activists to fuck off.
There may be no major airlines saying they will transport it... but will they really deny the business? I'm skeptical. If there is a company ban, I doubt it would last more than a month.
Is there a larger Corporate SJW movement if you were to factor in things like the Chipotle "No GMO" campaign, and efforts at big companies like Apple to get high environment-friendliness ratings. Or are these companies merely feigning social consciousness to please their rabid SJW customers?
Both....
You have SJW's earnestly using (and often abusing) their positions to further what they feel to be good, while others are just cynically pandering to them.
Since AA doesn't fly to Africa, it's completely cost-free for the company to announce a measure like this to please the SJW crowd. There's no profit in fighting SJWs.
I seem to recall Protein World making a killing by pissing off SJWs.
No profit in fighting SJWs? There's one metric fuck-ton of money in it if you have the balls...

Animal rights != social justice
But, I mean, "we" call anyone who disagrees with "us" "proggies" now anyway, so whatever.
If you equate sentient animals with human beings, which some SJWs tend to do, animal rights becomes social justice.
Some SJWs identify as animals.
Social justice is entirely, 100% about assaulting your enemies. If "animal rights" gives them a stick to beat their enemies with, they will use it, and it will thus become a social justice issue.
And, guess what? We see much gnashing of teeth over animals in Africa killed by white males, and zero concern for the vast number of animals killed in Africa by blacks.
So, it ain't about the animals, its about attacking white males. Which makes it pure quill social justice.
How about Africans killed in Africa by animals or Africans?
The 7 most dangerous myths about a $15 minimum wage
A friend of mine recently told me that I should consider moving to LA because it is a compassionate city that passed a $15 minimum wage.
I suppressed my laughter and pretended I had never heard of that news before.
Traffic still sucks balls, but hey, $15 minimum wage!
I noticed the other day that the Mickey D's dollar menu starts at 2.48 here in LA.

The result of Australia's gun buyback in the 1990s?
Gun ownership has surged 10 per cent in NSW in the past five years, with one gun now registered for every nine residents.
Is "buyback" even a fair term to describe what happened?
I thought it was more like "I am confiscating your guns, and I will pay you x dollars".
buyback is easier to google
New target for internet mob
Hunter Sabrina Corgatelli, of Idaho, is defending "kill" photos she recently posted on Facebook during a legal hunt in South Africa.
Corgatelli has received a firestorm of negative attention on her social media page in the wake of the illegal killing of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe.
Facebook user Lili Brooksby said, "Wow. Well done. You killed a harmless slow animal. You must feel very big and clever. Enough to post it on Facebook. Sociopath." Another user, Maerwynn Griffin, posted, "You're really a disgusting person, Sabrina. Just a sad, small, disgusting person."
[snip]
In an interview with TODAY's Carson Daly on Monday, Corgatelli said that "Everything (she has) done [in South Africa] is legal, so how can you fault somebody because of their hobbies?"
She told Daly, "There is a connection with the animal, and just because we hunt them doesn't mean we don't have a respect for them."
While Corgatelli's story differs from that of Minnesota dentist Walter Palmer, who killed Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe, without a permit, the Idahoan has also had her job targeted by Facebook commenters. Some commenters posted her employment information online, according to TODAY.
And the left keeps telling us that only men own guns, and they do so because of a penis inferiority complex.
Oh my god! She legally killed a large animal! Public shaming must commence! Destroy her life!
Seriously, this shit is getting old. I want off this rollercoaster.
I wonder how many of her rabid critics eat meat? Being that they are against the killing of animals.
Even if they don't eat meat, what about all the animals that are killed to harvest their food?
What about insects? Why won't cold-hearted murder-loving vegetarian SJWs think of the insects that are killed to protect their produce?
Yes. Think of all those poor little grasshoppers and fruit flies---little eyes staring up at you imploringly as you mercilessly kill them!
There's only one fair solution: Stop eating anything!
\we should be so lucky...
It's hard to get slower or more harmless than a cow.
Said someone who has never tried to work a herd of cattle.
Chickens are much more harmless, unless you fall over in the coop.
Because a chicken will eat anything.
Fuck, Carson Daly is still in show business?
Giraffe's are massive. I assume you use magnum-something. .375 H&H perhaps.
I wonder what giraffe tastes like?
Giraffe - chicken of the savannah.
It's actually pretty good when cooked correctly. A bit gamey, kind of like venison. I had in a bushmeat restaurant in Jo'burg.
Someone who goes to a stranger's facebook page to chastise them for their hobby is also a sad, small, disgusting person.
Sooner or later, non-SJWs are going to smarten up and avoid social media like the plague it is.

Regarding the new trophy import rules adopted by airlines... fuck it. Let them die out. I no longer give a shit about African big game.
Lately I feel like I'm being forced to just always take the opposite stance of SJW's. I have zero interest in or knowledge of big game hunting but now I have to continually defend it because fuck them.

This Wharton Grad Wants You to Live in His Shipping Containers
only $1000/mo.
For $1k you can get a decent apartment in many places not the Bay Area.
The power (and therefore water) is out in my apartment today. I didn't wake up feeling a sense of adventure. I was pissed because I forgot to make coffee and had to take 15 flights of stairs. Anybody that thinks communal toilets and living in a shipping crate is "adventurous" needs to check their hipster privilege.
Why the fuck would I want to live in that shithole? In a box that can fit in my living room no less. My apartment isn't much, but it's bigger and cheaper than that piece of shit.
I was talking to my friend who lives in the Bay Area about the fact that my wife and I are considering our relocation options once I graduate law school. He was pimping the Bay Area, and couldn't understand why I was adamantly against that.
Finally, I asked him what his rent was for his house (he lives in an 800sqft guest house). Lo and behold, it was $400/mo higher than my mortgage for my 2500sqft house on an acre.
Between the obscene costs, the pretentiousness that is exuded from every moron walking down the street, and the suicidal government, I don't get the popularity of the Bay Area. It's a fun place to visit, but I was feeling claustrophobic and irritated after being there a week.
The delicate scent of baked hipster drifted down the length of the wharf. Steve Smith's stomach grumbled and then whispered "Steve Smith. To the docks, Steve Smith." Nerve pathways carved out by a lifetime of pain fired. The enormous beast dropped the seal he was rapeating and began to lumber toward the deliciousness.
A flock of overweight nude humans fluttered past him on bicycles, their buttocks raised in their seats like a tender offering as they tried to get away. Their screams made his swollen testicles ache. The seal blood dried on his penis and mouth as he gathered speed. Baked hipster was near. That rarest treat.
The smell overwhelmed Steve Smith, but all he could see were steel boxes. Steve Smith hated the steel of men. He could rarely get at the sweet meat within him. Steve Smith sniffed at the seams of one of the boxes. He knew baked hipster was inside. He roared and beat the box with his mighty wood ape fists, using all his wood ape strength.
"STEVE SMITH WANT HIPSTER MEAT!" Steve Smith roared.
Your muse is a peculiar girl
She drinks a lot, but I still love her.

Fucking 31 and graduated from one of the top business schools in the world. WTF Wharton? Thirty fucking one. The guy should be driving and Audi and be on the fast track to the C suite. He should also be married and having a family, not living hand to mouth out of a goddamn shipping container.
I think shipping containers can make for hella cool apartments and houses.

Science and the GOP's annulment of the Enlightenment
This is where knowledge is decisively useful if mindful of its practical, real-world applications. Physicians are increasingly attuned to the socio-economic, gender, and cultural context in which their patients live. Climate scientists take into account not only how carbon traps heat in air and ocean, but how certain human activities -- e.g., deforestation or drilling for oil in the Arctic -- dynamically affect climate.
As a society, we tend to undervalue what sophisticated science offers us. As it happens, it was the left in the 1960s that first cast aspersions on "Big Science," that which seemed to serve corporate interests. Some radical feminists detect patriarchy in scientific method. But now the right-wing has taken up the anti-science crusade literally with a vengeance because so much of it runs against conservative shibboleths, their own obstinate myths about market economics, religion, and human behavior generally. It's an extremely destructive crusade, occurring only here among the advanced economies, poisoning the common well of how to understand the world.
Ummmm, pretty sure the idea that scientists should have a free hand to radically alter society for the common good and at the expense of individual freedom is antithetical to the Enlightenment.
Wake me up when scientists improve the accuracy of their climate models, and then may be we can talk about economists improving the accuracy of the social cost of carbon.
We can also then talk about how the USG based its dietary recommendations on incorrect cholesterol studies, and why we should not base forced government policies on the latest "scientific" fads.
When they want to talk methane and animal agriculture, then I'll take them seriously. Until then, all this carbon bullshit is pure posturing.
Not at all. It's right in line with the Rationalist side of the Enlightenment. Sharpen the guillotines!
You know who else wanted free hand for scientists and other experts to "have a free hand to radically alter society for the common good and at the expense of individual freedom is antithetical to the Enlightenment"?
I need some help please. I've just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and I now can not locate the extension/add-on for Firefox (developed by one of the regulars here IIRC) that makes reading H&R so much nicer. Why would you ever be using either windows 8 or 10?
Built a new gaming-focused box, 1st one for myself in 10+ years, so I went from XP (which I loved) to 8 (which was ok), then 8.1 (which was pretty good), to 10 (which, granted I'm only a week in, seems to have fixed most of the things I disliked about 8). I've tinkered about with various flavors of Linux and like some of them but find them a poor mix with gaming. Apple will never get another penny from me as I am one of those cranky old farts who is still pissed off about their (1994?) decision to restrict aftermarket parts sales, thus all but eliminating homebrew Macs. I find Windows to be neither the most efficient or most elegant OS but after 20+ years of daily use of some iteration of it, it just works. What OS are y'all most enamored of?
I'm curious about 10. I just upgraded my "gaming" PC (I don't really play games on it anymore, but it has the horsepower to run games) to Win7 from XP, and fucked something up, so I'm debating between upgrading to 10 or installing Ubuntu.
10 is even more tablet-y and schizo than 8 was. Plus much of what made 7 good is gone. I would say avoid it at all costs but at some point you're going to have to bite the bullet.
I've been extremely satisfied with 7, and hate 8 with the white hot intensity of 1000 burning suns.
If 10 is like 8 (where the fuck is 9) then NO.
One of the advantages of 10 over 8/8.1 is that the tablety stuff can be turned off and the overwhelming majority of the privacy issues can be obviated by using a local account (not signing in with Hotmail/Onedrive/etc.) and setting some rules on one's router.
I confess to using some registry edits and 3rd party software to enable a greater level of GUI customization than MS wants to allow; for me, XP is the gold standard when it comes to desktop UI.
...XP is the gold standard less the bulbous Fisher Price colorized desktop elements.
Did you read the privacy policy on 10 and what Microsoft gets to do with your data?
Reason enough to avoid it like syphilis.
Gaming on Linux is coming on in leaps and bounds, and that's not just evangelist-speak. I genuinely wish I had more time to game (like, any). I cut Windows out of my life entirely (except for a box my wife requires to do online tutoring). But I enjoy tinkering and doing stuff myself more than most, even though it takes me a long time because I only have so much free time.
So I was listening to a radio show on the drive into work this morning, and the DJ mentioned that Obama has been photographed not wearing his wedding band for the last few weeks. I wonder if Michelle has had enough of his narcissistic ass and secretly separated from the Lightbringer? Not that I really care that much, but that would be pretty big news, right?
Doubtful, if they had he would still wear his wedding band as to not give it away.

Welcome to Retardation: A Celebration. Now, hopefully with this book, I'm gonna dispel a few myths, a few rumors. First off, the retarded don't rule the night. They don't rule it. Nobody does. And they don't run in packs. And while they may not be as strong as apes, don't lock eyes with 'em, don't do it. Puts 'em on edge. They might go into berzerker mode; come at you like a whirling dervish, all fists and elbows. You might be screaming "No, no, no" and all they hear is "Who wants cake?" Let me tell you something: They all do. They all want cake.

Has anyone got any experiences with Audi? I like the looks of their cars but my brain keeps on saying "it's a fancy VW, it's a fancy VW" which are low on my list ever since I did work on my then GF's Rabbit.
But hey, I already drive a 10yo BMW so could it get any worse?
A friend has one of the cheaper ones. S'orright, does the job, handles well enough in tight turns, and her dogs appreciate the sunroof
My buddy drives and S4. Fun car, but you pay a lot for the name plate and the repairs are quite expensive, even for fairly minor stuff.
My wife has a 8yo BMW - what a fucking hunk of shit.
Last week the motor-mount broke. Yes, the motor became unattached to the frame. When I asked the mechanic how this was even possible, he explained that BMW went to all aluminum bolts even to mount the motor.
I'm guessing that Audis suck just as bad if you keep them past the warranty.
he explained that BMW went to all aluminum bolts even to mount the motor.
Blame that on the fucking CAFE standards not BMW. They only did that to cute weight and meet the mileage requirements while still building something besides an echo penalty box.
You really can't hate the earth worshipers enough. They are total scum who ruin everything especially our cars.
My mom fell for a Sears salesman's patter and bought a hig efficiency washer. Washes clothes with half the water use!
What a piece of crap. It does a great job getting soluble stuff out of clothes. But if there is particulate matter or sediment. That's because it fills the washing basket with water to a point well below the level of the clothes and bit by bit the agitator pulls clothes below the water line to give em a good scrub.
But it beeps like a smug door on the starship The Heart of Gold, so it's great!
Naturally, it uses more electricity, and its development wasn't driven by a need to provide consumers with a better washer but to game the federal energy star stats.
er. it should be:
But if there is particulate matter or sediment, it falls flat on its face!
And people just wash their clothes twice and end up using more water in the end or they just more soap creating more water pollution from the water they do use. It is completely fucking stupid and bad for the environment and people.
And it doesn't even save much or any water. The world is not running out of drinkable water and even if it were, people washing their clothes is not the reason. And meanwhile, while these filthy socialist hippies are trying to get us to wear dirty clothes, they are dumping trillions of acre feet of drinking water into the ocean every year in the name of saving bait fish.
The entire environmental movement needs to die and die a horrible painful death. These people are fucking evil.
In the upright washers there is usually a setting for something like "bulky items" that has the machine fill up and run like an old model. I use that a lot.
They are like every other German car, fabulous in so many ways and wonderfully reliable right up until they are not. German cars seem to be a dramatic lot. They never seem to have small problems. Instead they seem to have a dark and brooding Teutonic nature and either work wonderfully for years or one day commit suicide by engine or transmission failure.
My basic stripper/manual 325i has actually been quite reliable - only replaced the front bushings ($200) and did one of the window regulators myself ($15 Ebay part).
But I have been hunting down a computer code - lean engine - for the past half a year without any luck. Replaced intake, DISA gasket, and even the MAF ($250 part) and the lean codes still keep on randomly popping. Now I'm narrowing in on the fuel filter/pump combo but will pay someone to do that repair - I've always hated getting under cars when they are sitting on jackstands.
Or else I will just buy another car... and these days I'm stuck on the Teutonic designs. Something about their handling and over all road feel is addicting.
Before BMWs became bloated status symbols, they were fabulously well build and reliable cars. I owned a 1983 3 series for a while in Germany. It had a flat six, was spartan as all get out but it never failed you, ever. And though not fast, it could do well on the autobahn and was very fun to drive. I fucking loved that car. If it had just been five years older I could have brought it home with me and I would still own it. And that of course is another reason to hate the fucking greens, they killed the grey market for European cars.
Love the I6 DOHC engine - it has very usable torque throughout the RPMs... and sounds oh so nice. But 184hp just doesn't cut it these days...
Ours has a brake and maintenance warning that has been on forever - even after the brakes were replaced. I was told that it is a bad sensor - and replacing the sensor is an expensive repair.
Dunno about you guys but we've had Volks (and a couple of Bimmers and 'talian in between) since the early 1980s.
They are BUT about small problems.
I just leased a VW and TWO days in my headlight was not functioning. But I love the diesel engine.
Nor do I find them to be anymore or less reliable than most cars. Cars today tend to be well built.
I learned to drive on my brother's Rabbit that was like a dozen years old. He likes tinkering with cars so naturally it was tricked out in some ways and rekt in others. But that thing was practically indestructible.
Girlfriend just bought a slightly used A6. Seems nice with decent power. Her parent's have had an A4 for a number of years (although I'm not sure what year it is) and they really like it although it is just now starting to require more expensive repairs.
They live on the western slope of CO and, after Subarus, Audis seem most popular which suggests they do well in the mountains, including snow and cold.
I am just about losing my mind over this "sexist air conditioning hurts Gaia" agitprop that's making the rounds lately.
Ladies - you need to check your low-metabolism privilege and realize that men don't have the option to wear strapless dresses after you've cranked up the office heat.
Cait Jenner is trying to change that.
I set myself up for that one, didn't I.
Office clothing is totally sexist. Women can wear summer dresses that are nothing but shorts. Men are stuck in pants and long sleeved shirts. If women want to bitch about the AC, then they need to check their dressing privileges. Either give up the summer dresses and the sandals and start wearing pants suits with long sleeves every day or let men wear shorts and t-shirts to work.
I can actually wear polo shirts and it's still warmer than I would like. I run one of those little fans on my desk which helps.
I wear polo's but then I still have to wear an undershirt unless you want to see my nipples.
I would if it wasn't 90 degrees every day. And really to me the only point of an undershirt is to control pit stains - I completely don't get the "wife beater under a shirt" look. Nobody gives a damn about a man's nipple show.
It also keeps the chest hair from sticking out the top of the collared shirts (assuming no tie)
let men wear shorts and t-shirts to work
I want to join the revolution.
Its a perfectly cromulent outfit.
For burger-flippers.
If you want me to treat you like an adult, you need to dress like an adult.
All I know is there better not be someone among us who wears shirt-sleeve shirts with a tie.
"Short-sleeve shirts with a tie"
Yep, that should be banned. Or at least subject to relentless social mocking.
I don't want to see other men's legs at the workplace. I wouldn't mind wearing shorts myself, though. (It would be a treat for the ladies in the office, too.)
You don't have to look, you know.
I thought it was usually men who have the authority over dress codes. I can't imagine there's some female-led conspiracy to keep men in long sleeves and pants.
I am not sure it is a conspiracy but in the day and age of sexual harassment law, no man will ever say anything about how a woman is dressed. So women are basically immune for dress codes while they are enforced strictly on men.
"I am not sure it is a conspiracy but in the day and age of sexual harassment law, no man will ever say anything about how a woman is dressed."
It probably depends if the company has established dress codes, this was in the news the other day http://www.today.com/style/j-c.....ght-t35181 Of course she blew up about it on social media, but she knows she can't do anything. She agreed to the dress code in training.
Hold on - they're pushing the meme that dress codes for women are sexist?! I just can't even any more.
yeah, even though guys aren't allowed to wear shorts that length either...it's sexist because, I don't know
From what I have gathered from friends who have to enforce the dress codes for their departments, it is the more homely women in charge who insist that both men and women adhere to the dress codes.
Doubt it. HR comes up with this stuff and HR is almost always led by women.
And staffed by women. Global IT in my company is ~95% men, HR is ~85% women. And the men in HR are almost entirely over 50.
Most of the men in HR are gay.
True story:
I was actually in charge of HR for awhile at a smallish trade association.
I rewrote the employee manual. In its entirety, it read:
(1) Do what you are told.
(2) Do not be an idiot.
(3) Unless the CEO says otherwise.
I've never seen an employee manual that wasn't just a long-winded version of this.
I was in an interview once, it was a small firm, and the partner in charge was interviewing me. He made it a point to tell me they wear ties every day.
He was wearing a khaki short-sleeve shirt with a brown tie and brown pants.
Yes, that tie is totally what makes you look good/professional even though you are dressed like a turd.
That sounds horrid.
On the flip-side, I once had an interview at a startup with the female "CEO". I put that in quotes because she was dressed in cut-off jean shorts and a baggy t-shirt. I was pissed because I had dressed professionally and I felt like an idiot being interviewed by a homeless lady.
UPS is not a "small firm."
+1 What can brown do for you?
Most modern buildings (I guess up until now) are designed so that the only way they can be cooled is to crank up the air. Bring a sweater!
They are designed for "efficiency", which means they are hermetically sealed from the outside. This makes them cold and unhealthy in the summer and hot and unhealthy in the winter. Yet another problem you can blame on the fucking earth worshipers.
Lowering the tempersture is not so much the issue as wringing the humidity out of the air. Often office buildings skimp on having a system thst can do tjat without making it cold. High relative humidity can make a comfortable temp feel miserable.
A nice story about forestation of Detroit:
Hantz Woodlands ? A Tree Grows (Actually It's More Like 20,000) In Detroit
At least the socialists were just content with destroying the city and didn't salt the earth. There is that I guess.
Thank you for linking that. The guy has to fight the mayor, "local activists" and environmentalists to turn literally nothing into something.
He sees profit where I see only headache. I guess that's why he's rich. The leftists are going to vote to raise business taxes though and he'll be demonized for fighting it.
I have linked this article before, and it is from Gawker, but it sums up that absurd mindset.
How Two Billionaires Are Remaking Detroit in Their Flawed Image
Detroit fascinates me, because the capitalism is the only way to drag it out from the complete hellhole that it is and make it into a semi-hellhole.
and slowly left to rot by corporations who couldn't figure out how to pay people a living wage and remain in business.
Those bastards!
When there are farms and trees instead of people isn't it time to start calling it something besides "urban"?
"Suburban".
"Ex-urban"
"American Airlines has joined Delta Airlines and United Airlines in banning the transportation of lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalos killed by trophy hunters."
How about if they were killed by just hunters?
That would be hilarious. Leave the cape and head for the carrion feeders, field dressing the carcass and packing out the meat. Then get home and donate it to hunters for the hungry. The thought of a bunch of poverty-level children dining on lion makes me happy..
I'll gladly hand over the keys to the thermostat if women stop wearing perfume in throat-closing doses.
That's a thing?
I knew a girl who carried Febreeze around and routinely sprayed it directly on people she thought smelled funny (in any way). She never even said anything. Just ppsssh psssh (smile, walk away). I secretly loved her.
The Pentagon is unableunwilling to account for roughly $800 million that it spent.
FTFY

Oh my.
