Matt Welch to Talk Sandra Bland and Atticus Finch at 10 a.m. on MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry
Beginning at 10 a.m. I will be on MSNBC's long-form panel-discussion show Melissa Harris-Perry to talk about the Sandra Bland prison-hanging case, related criminal justice issues, and also the meaning of the character (de)volution of Atticus Finch.

Sorry,can't watch that women.
Rathist.
Rastus.
Sorry, I can't watch TV (Got rid of my TV)
Also, why are you validating MSNBC? If not for cable bundling, they'd have no money and be dead.
Cannon fodder. It's like when Alan Colmes or Kirsten Powers used to appear on every Fox News panel show as the token liberal for everybody else to take turns pissing on. I guess the "no such thing as bad publicity" theory in play.
but no one watches MSNBC, so there's no publicity (seriously, check out their ratings sometime)
Missionary work then, maybe? Or possibly Welch just likes the crowd over there. It's not as if they have nothing in common.
Hey,Kristen Powers is hot,in a Elizabeth Banks way.
I'm watching The Open.I also like South Park.Later I'm having a while pizza with romas, onions, garlic and basil leaves out of my garden. And stount of course.
You realize that a greater number of normal people are foregoing TV ownership? I'm not claiming to be normal, but your sarcastic insult is unappreciated.
You know all golfers are smug rich white guys that have orphan slaves to tend their yards and gardens. So,what's your point?
My point is Hipsters have ruined being outcast weirdos!
Hey, I'm a golfer!
Also, who has a garden? I don't even get a lawn.
I bet you don't even have orphans.
Nope.
But then again, I'm not a libertarian, so I don't have to keep up the appearances.
But then again, I'm not a libertarian
We are the 91%!!!!

And he rejects the label too!
Says the man that says I don't have a TV ,why do you,.
do you have a coherent sentence in there?
Matt, the sacrifices I make for you...
Let's get weird.
Request granted.
Since Heroic Mulatto introduced us to the Church of Gail, here is a quality episode wherein Gail, fashionably attired in a tin foil hat, talks naughty sex.
WTF?
HM originally posted the following video:
Church of Gail Attacked by Giant SENTIENT Burrito & Taco! Need Scientists!
It's his fault I am now a man obsessed with Crazy Gail.
Yes, that counts as weird. You win.
*Sigh*
I worked in a mental hospital for almost a decade. I heard that shit EVERY. DAY.
I don't find it amusing, though I can see why others might.
Suthenboy:
I don't find it amusing, more like it's the realization of a deep seated fear of going crazy myself.
If I catch myself wearing tin foil on my head, and spouting conspiracy theories about Jesuits, I'm checking myself into the nearest hospital. Or checking out; whichever.
It doesn't work like that. The reality that is created in your head is entirely consistent from your perspective. You'll never know that it's NOT real.
It's not work when the nice Nurse Ratched is handing out the pills.
Her website and what I've read of her mental illness is just plain sad. My oldest step-son is also a paranoid schizophrenic and his ever increasing disconnection from the world in favor of his delusions is a horrific thing to watch.
This is not the time to recount the errors of the past and how to save Greece.
To save grease, you just make sure you pour it into a clean container after cooking up the bacon... oh, wait you said Greece.
Sorry, they're fucked.
In a Greek way?
Probably, not, they might enjoy that.
I assume they'll use olive oil and garlic also.
That won't help if they won't pull out.
Try WD-40.
QE-40?
I'm pretty sure we'll already have attained Weimar status before we get to that point.
We have to give Greece more money because.
Uh huh. I think the High Priestess Gail is saner.
Paging Mr. Orwell: Obama collecting personal data for a secret race database
http://nypost.com/2015/07/18/o.....-database/
"Federally funded cities deemed overly segregated will be pressured to change their zoning laws to allow construction of more subsidized housing in affluent areas in the suburbs, and relocate inner-city minorities to those predominantly white areas. HUD's maps, which use dots to show the racial distribution or density in residential areas, will be used to select affordable-housing sites."
what could possibly go wrong with this sort of thing.
Obummer wants to leave his mark - even if it's a scar.
More like a boil. What ever happened to property rights?
Kelo V New London
you think you have rights? We're descending to the level where perceived rights are made so only with a govt permission slip.
Just when I thought I couldn't think any lower of this guy Obama.
Obama's educrats want to know how many blacks versus whites are enrolled in gifted-and-talented and advanced placement classes.
Oh, FFS! Just enroll *everyone* in "gifted-and-talented" and be done with it!
OT: I'm beginning to agree with those who see Atlas Shrugged as a non-fiction piece (aside from the speeches) as California attempts open air reenactment of the tunnel scene. This is all kinds of fucked up.
Why wouldn't the road be closed or restricted? There's a wildfire burning towards a crowded interstate with firefighters at the scene (adding congestion) and officials with loudspeakers telling people to stay in their cars. But it's all the fault of drones that caused this.
*wasn't the road
As is Animal Farm and 1984.
I'm unclear as to why remote controlled rotor-wing aircraft prevented the FD from dumping water from the own rotor-wing aircraft. Just dump the water and drones be damned. Here in NYC, I once saw FDNY respond to a fire and, seeing a car parked in front of the nearest hydrant, proceed to use their hooligan tools to smash out every single piece of glass on that car and run their hose lines through the (now) open windows (making sure to thoroughly soak the car's interior). I've seen FDNY deal with a recalcitrant motorist, who was not quick enough to move out the lane, by dragging the fellow out his car and moving it for him. Why do CA firefighters care about damaging drones?
The only rationalization I can come up with is that they think it might get drawn into the engine (they might be using turbine-driven helis), but forget that the rotorwash makes that pretty impossible.
It's part of the narrative against private-sector drones.
Matt, hold on to your kid (s) if you have any.
Melitha thinks they belong to her.
What about my orphans?
To Kill a Mockingbird on MSNBC. Apparently MSNBC can't afford broadband streaming.
I'm pretty sure there are no lenses in Welch's glasses. Maybe the wife told him he needed to look smarter when going up against the brainpower regularly featured on MSNBC.
After talking about the paternalism of Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, we've come full circle saying that black voters cannot possibly find their way to getting photo ID like adults.
"...that these fights don't end, and that the fight for racial is going to carry on."
Thank God, right? Otherwise there wouldn't be a need for Race Forward with its director job.
Rather than focusing on letting felons vote, you should focus on making fewer felons.
Welch stole Perry's segue. And possibly her Segway.
Commercials for erectile dysfunction and feminine itching? What does MSNBC think about its audience???
Normally I don't care for stage-stormers, but good for her.
Harris-Perry having the vapors over the O'Malley flub?
Those candidates think black votes only matter in the primary. In the general election, the Democrat is going to get those votes. Whatever Democrat. Robert Byrd, had he ever made a run for the White House, would get nearly all the black vote. And all the Democrats know that.
Melissa Joan Hart here is never going to wrap her head around the idea that the right is better than the left on anything.
And on cue, Melissa Joan Hart decides Rand Paul is racist for talking about criminal justice reform as race independent.
They've just now recognized the flag is irrelevant but are afraid to say it now that they've succeeded in bringing it down.
Welch is gone and so am I. Peace out.
I love the juxtaposition of this Welch post touting his appearance "on MSNBC's long-form panel-discussion show Melissa Harris-Perry" with Welch's previous post pissing and moaning about "the serial lies of an idiocratic TV huckster".
That cunt pay her fair share yet?
