Man Arrested in Shooting of Two Ferguson Officers

Officials have charged one Jeffrey Williams, 20, with shooting two St. Louis County officers in Ferguson, Missouri, where folks are still demonstrating against the city and police's treatment of its citizens, and several leaders have announced their resignations. From Fox News:
Jeffrey Williams was arrested Saturday night and is charged with two counts of assault in the first degree, three counts of armed criminal action and firing a weapon from a vehicle, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said during the afternoon press conference.
Williams, who has attended several demonstrations in Ferguson, Mo., told police that he fired shots at someone he had a dispute with, and hit the officers, who he alleges were not his intended target.
McCulloch said Williams' story of a dispute with another person -- including that he did not target the police -- is still part of the investigation, which is ongoing.
McCulloch said the .40-caliber handgun that matches the shell casings recovered at the scene of the officers' shootings was found in Williams' residence, which police searched after obtaining a warrant based on information received from the public.
Williams, who is being held on $300,000 cash bond, had a warrant out on him because he is on probation for receiving stolen property and has failed to appear to his parole officer for the past seven months, McCulloch said.

A thug-feud drive-by shooting in the midst of ongoing protests against police brutality.
Jesus on a pogo stick, what a shit hole. Is Ferguson some circle of hell that assholish idiots are damned to?
See some of the strongtowns.org stuff on Ferguson. It was a neighborhood designed for this in the 2nd or 3rd generation.
I'm sure the planners would deny it, but there is an iron law that applies.
Is Ferguson some circle of hell that assholish idiots are damned to?
If it wasn't before, it will be now. Look at all the other cities that had their governments "improved" by white flight and black activists and politicians. Did Detroit get better? Baltimore? Philadelphia? Be prepared for (in order) laudatory national coverage when Ferguson elects a black Democrat mayor, has a black police chief, etc., followed in X years by the inevitable thumbsuckers about the troublingly high crime and unemployment rates.
PapayaSF, how dare you predict the future by honestly observing the past and present?
Isn't this the point where you get labeled a racist and get pummeled with SJW indignation?
Great call..
Why White People Freak Out When They're Called Out About Race
http://www.alternet.org/cultur.....about-race
You are gonna have to do better than that. If you are going to get people to step in shit you have to cover it up a little bit. I see the alternet in the address. I aint steppin' on that.
Naw, nobody in their right mind is going to read this shit. I, on the other hand, am buzzed on a fantastic beer and reading stupid face book posts and clicked it by accident.
OK, I admit, I clicked on it.
*goes out on porch to hose off shoes*
Here Suthen let me have a go......
Middle aged white woman sporting a pensive expression wants to scold you about race and historical events that you likely had absolutely no connection to other than perhaps being white and have you pay her for the....ooopsy, there's that word again...privilege.
Checks envelope....
To Robin DiAngelo, professor of multicutural education at Westfield State University and author of What Does it Mean to Be White? Developing White Racial Literacy, Tal Fortgang's essay?indignant, defensive, beside-the-point, somehow both self-pitying and self-aggrandizing?followed a familiar script. As an anti-racist educator for more than two decades, DiAngelo has heard versions of it recited hundreds of times by white men and women in her workshops.
Ding, ding, ding.....tell him what he's won Johnny!
God damn but proggies are nothing if not predictable!
Everything they say is the exactly the opposite of the truth
Who are you going to believe? Your lying eyes?
Just the whites of my eyes. Cause I'm JUST that racist and privileged,
I bet you don't even have brown eyes, racist!
Heh. When my son was born, I told my wife I was happy he had her beautiful blue eyes. Not my brown eyes. Because they're the color of poop.
RACIST! I am.
It is impossible t have any kind of dialogue with those people.
Them: "You are racist"
Me: "Uh...no, I am not. I judge people on character, I don't give a shit about their race. What they do counts, not who their daddy was."
Them: "Yes you are, you just don't know it. You enjoy white privilege. that makes you a racist."
Me: "So, the way other people behave makes me racist, not the way I think or behave? I have no control over what other people do, only what I do, so I can't be held responsible for my racism, right?"
Them: "And you are white. Being white also means you are racist."
Me: "Ok. Fuck you."
I don't see why you'd let the conversation get that far.
Yes. Seems like the "Ok, fuck you" line should come right after the "You are racist" bit.
Ok, Robin, as a person of color, I hereby declare that at this given moment you are behaving in a racist way.
Proof? Evidence? You didn't say I needed that before giving me the arbitrary power to brand you, by fiat, with a societal shaming word to be employed at my pleasure merely based on the amount of melanin in my epidermis.
Why are you freaking out, Robin?
Meh. 'Alternative leftists' have been saying shit like that since the 80s. Apparently we're incapable of facing their version (s) of reality.
This "drive-by rap feud shooting" angle is probably the only thing that saved him from taking an attempted murder charge.
Well, it is probably true.
I stand in awe of his genius. He skips out on his parole officer, stays in the same town, goes to a protest teeming with cops and botches a drive-by shooting actually managing to hit two cops by accident.
People don't get caught because they're smart.
Exactly - if criminals were the smart ones, the cops would never catch them, the prosecutors would all have to go do wills and real estate work and the jails would be for DUI and juveniles only.
There are plenty of smart criminals out there, or at least criminals who know how to keep their mouths shut. The dirty truth is that most crimes are solved not by the police doing any actual work, but by people dropping a dime on blabbermouth idiots.
a warrant based on information received from the public
He got caught because he couldn't shut the hell up.
I seem to recall a case back in the 80s where they caught some guy who'd been a second-story man for a couple of decades. He was a fair bit smarter than the average burglar, it would seem.
-jcr
Do you do your own taxes?
prosecutors would all have to go do wills and real estate work
I creamed.
I am truly amazed he was taken alive, even if the officers were only wounded.
Scratch that, Assault, first degree = attempted murder in Missouri.
Have gangsters never watched TV? Start yelling "lawyer" the second you are arrested. Not admit to attempted murder of somebody else!
Gangsters? You're far too generous.
Hell, a recent "Better Call Saul" have mike going through his entire 5 minutes interview with Lawyer for each and single question. Of course, he was guilty of the double murder they're interested in...
I would think that trying to kill someone other than the guy that you nearly did is still attempted murder.
Williams, who is being held on $300,000 cash bond, had a warrant out on him because he is on probation for receiving stolen property and has failed to appear to his parole officer for the past seven months, McCulloch said.
So he was already a felon? And yet able to carry a gun?
Obviously we need more laws.
I thought gun control laws superseded the laws of physics. I, for the life of me, can't understand how that man was able to pick up a gun.
It's like when the Hulk picked up Thors hammer that one time.
Sometimes the rage just breaks all the laws of physics.
Listening to FoxNews today at 1:35 PST, the heads were discussing this case. The shooter claims that he was being robbed at gun point and claims he fired in self defense. After some discussion the male reporter (I don't know who they are) says, "The lesson here: If you are being robbed, don't pull your gun. Call the police."
Female reporter asnswers, "Or better yet, don't have a gun at all."
And all this time I thought Fox was a GOP news agency.
I think something like 70% of Fox employees who donated to politicians donated to Democrats.
It's kind of like how the last Democrat mayor of my city was practically a Republican because he thought people opening businesses was a good thing, and that we should encourage it.
Tyrion Lannister: And now I've struck a king! Did my hand fall from my wrist?
There must be some mistake.
http://sonsoflibertymedia.com/.....not-sorry/
Be all the gay you can be.
lol glad to see that there are still total rightwing nuts out there. I missed out on the Bush years here. I'm really hoping a Republican wins next time so I can see conservatives about face on the glory of the State and liberals rediscover the virtues of dissent and free speech.
When a regular like Episiarch gets featured in an article, it deserves a shout out.
Er, wrong.
At least he didn't hit any innocent bystanders.
^This.
I wonder what the protesters would say if he had.
Fox News? Are you part of the Angry White Man's Brigade????
"McCulloch said the .40-caliber handgun that matches the shell casings recovered at the scene of the officers' shootings was found in Williams' residence, which police searched after obtaining a warrant based on information received from the public."
They got a what based on information they received from the public?!
That's so old fashioned.
How did they know it would work?
They have been under a little bit of extra scrutiny lately. At least they were smart enough not to confirm the protesters accusations in broad daylight. I am surprised, really.
If they have more Jeffery Williams though, the protesters are going to have a difficult time continuing to paint the cops as villains. I suspect Ferguson is chock-full of Jeffery Williams'.
It's a bit like the Iran/Iraq way. One side can be as awful as it likes, that doesn't make the other any less so.
I might have mentioned that already. Read the first comment in this thread.
Oh. Heedless.
Never mind.
I wonder if this is actually the guy that did it.
This being ferguson, I wouldn't be suprised if they just picked a black guy out of the teeming masses and said "Yep, this guy! He's guilty of something, so lets pin it on him!"
Also, I was kinda hoping this wasn't an accident. When I first heard about this shooting I thought "Good. If I had just read a report on how my local government had been farming cash like a man fleeces sheep for the last several decades, I'd probably want payback too."
Disappointing. I thought this might finally be the straw that broke the camels back. Guess I'll have to wait for the report that tells us EVERY SINGLE CITY, TOWN, AND VILLAGE IN AMERICA does the same thing.
I'm the opposite. I want this to be a complete accident because the cops were out there claiming this was 'like an ambush.' It will just show how bullshit the narratives put out by cops really are.
First it was an ambush, then a sniper, and now it turned out to be a complete accident. Those cops are self-important buffoons.
Aren't they going to have to try this guy in Ferguson? Good luck with that.
How do we eliminate the creeps like this from the underbelly of society, while at the same time keeping rogue, drunk-with-power cops from stepping on our rights?
I want "the creeps like this. AND "cops" to be in the "underbelly of society" - places like, oh, Ferguson, MO, and not in my hood,. Which they're not. Which is why I live where I live.
Harsh? Yeah, well, fuck 'em all. I just keep trying to be left alone.
Thing is, I'd rather live in a neighborhood filled with evil thugs than a neighborhood populated with cops.
At least the former will look me in the eye and admit they're lying, thieving scumbag murderers.
Eliminate the war on drugs and other victimless crimes and then allow judges to sentence real criminals appropriately.
Don't forget to end all immunity.
Guns. Lots and lots of guns.
Hey! That's *my* line!
+1 besides a miracle
Wow. He's as good a shot as cops are.
He chose his backstop better, though.
Who wants to play Name That Scandal?
1. He was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He was later convicted of 12 counts of bank fraud.
2. He was convicted of tax fraud and possession of marijuana. Served 9 months in prsion. Charges of soliciting sex from a 16-year-old boy were dropped after he submitted to counseling.

Hitler?
Sounds like a helluva guy to party with.
Not so much to ride motorcycles around.
I think #4 was a Carter admin official.
I had a funny feeling it was Chris Rock!
A Sunday dose of Derp: The Guardian thinks privatizing BBC 3 would be as evil as ISIS destroying historical sites
When so-called Islamic State destroyed historic sites in Iraq, I was wary of making judgments of other cultures, and gave these exuberant young men the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps shattering the statues was mere high spirits, like when Greeks trample wedding crockery? Or perhaps it was the fault of MI5?
Of course, we also sacrifice our heritage to ideology. Say goodbye to Paolozzi's Tottenham Court Road murals, trashed by terrorists of Transport for London; to Oxford's ancient Port Meadow horizon, occluded by death-cult developers; and perhaps to the BBC, the greatest cultural achievement of any 20th-century democracy, soon to be poleaxed by free-market fundamentalists as pernicious as the statue-smashers of so-called Islamic State.
I do love the phrase "free-market fundamentalists". It's said without a scrap of self-awareness to people who quite literally worship the state and think their positive feelings and intentions will carry weight with the decision-makers.
The BBC is the greatest cultural achievement of the 20th century? It's PBS with a different accent.
Minus Nova and Nature.
Oh, and Frontline. I also enjoy that.
But plus Monty Python and Doctor Who.
See - this is why they'll say you need to keep funding the BBC at gunpoint.
PBS doesn't shoot you if you don't contribute during the (eternal) telethon.
PBS doesn't shoot you if you don't contribute during the (eternal) telethon.
...yet.
I actually had to keep looking at who posted that...uh, well, there are no adequate wordsfor it.
I honestly kept thinking it was Derpetologist (you DO find the best derp), but had that feeling I had seen a different name*.
*reading this on my cell.
What a strange way to set up an "ambush"...
A Ferguson protestor/looter accidentally shoots two different cops while shooting at other people? Yeah, tell me another.
Sounds like an unusually skillful accident. Unless they were standing right next to each other or something like that.
-jcr
The threats seem a bit vague to me, but for what it's worth: Protester Jeffrey Williams Threatened to Shoot #Ferguson Police in January
Yeah, even in Ferguson right now cops aren't that thick on the ground.
I would think that if you walked down a crowded street and started firing off rounds as random passerby, it would be a long, long time before you actually hit a cop.
The wailing sounds you hear are ten million SJW's lamenting the fact that this guy didn't turn out to be a tea partier.
-jcr
That is too perfect.
And, yes, how on earth does a felon get a firearm? If you believe the MSM talking points, we should be delighted about being forced into government-mandated surrender of our rights because lawful people without their weapons will no doubt get the Jeffrey Williams of the world to play fair (dump their illegal weapons).
Funny thing that. Far all the weapons lying around, neither Tea Partiers nor libertarians (or Libertarians) are actually shooting at cops.
#White Privilege
First time I've ever seen a cop shooter get bail. And low bail at that.
