Rising Calls For Arrest of Cop Who Shot Michael Brown

Activists and clergy want formal charges against Officer Darren Wilson.

FERGUSON, Mo.—Community activists and local clergy on Tuesday renewed calls for the arrest of the officer who fatally shot an unarmed teen, in a case that set off days of riots and violence in this St. Louis suburb.

The parents of Michael Brown, the slain 18-year-old, stood with members of the Ferguson chapter of the National Action Network, the family's attorney and local clergy at a news conference outside the Ferguson Police Department to echo the earlier demands by the Rev. Al Sharpton that Officer Darren Wilson be arrested and indicted.

  1. Gee, have the facts changed since last week, or are these people just bored.

Go sweep up debris in your town if you have so much time on your hands.

  2. Any time I see that “community activists” are calling for something, I know that – even if what they are calling for is a good or just thing – they’re probably motivated by the wrong, pet-cause reasons.

Sigh. It underscores the important of recognizing issue-specific “fellow travelers”, but can sure make you cynical that even the “good guys” are just idiots who are like a broken clock being right twice a day.
