According to that myth, Sullum writes in Forbes, certain psychoactive substances are so dangerous that they cannot be tolerated, and the government has scientifically identified them. In reality, he says, the distinctions drawn by our drug laws are arbitrary, and marijuana is the clearest illustration of that fact.
