52 Percent Don't Trust Obama, 60 Percent Disapprove of Obama's Health Care Handling
The public's trust in President Obama has sunk to a new low according to a recent Quinnipiac poll, with a slim majority (52 percent) who say the president is not "honest or trustworthy" whereas 44 percent believe he is. Just last month, most Americans (54 percent) agreed the president was honest and trustworthy, while 41 percent disagreed.
In November, Quinnipiac found that a solid majority (60 percent) of independents distrusted Barack Obama as well as 86 percent of Republicans, but only 12 percent of Democrats. Slim majorities of all age groups also reported a lack of trust in the president, including 51 percent of millennials, some of Obama's most enthusiastic supporters. Eight-one percent of African-Americans trust Obama and 59 percent of Caucasians do not, while Hispanics are evenly divided 51 percent to 49 percent in slight favor of the president. A majority (55 percent) of men are distrustful of the president, and a slight plurality (49 percent) of women agrees.
Presidential trust has likely waned amidst the millions of Americans who have had their current health insurance plans canceled even after President Obama consistently promised "if you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan." Moreover, the messy rollout of health insurance exchanges have resulted in only 100,000 enrollments, falling about 80 percent short of 500,000 enrollments the administration's models had predicted. The actual implementation of the health care law has continued to undermine the Obama administration's promises and predictions.
Within this context, it is perhaps less surprising that only 36 percent approve of the president's handling of health care, compare to 43 percent in October. Not only that, for the first time since Quinnpiac began asking the question, Americans are equally likely to trust Republicans with health care as President Obama (43 and 42 percent respectively). Just last month, Obama enjoyed a 9 point advantage over his GOP colleagues (47 to 38 percent). Once debate over the government shutdown settled, the renewed focus on the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare has not gone well for the president.

Too little. Too late.
Not too mention that so much of this is on autopilot and can't be stopped, and the machinery of bureuacracy is incapable of anything remotely resembling a "quick fix", and there will be months of this still to go.
I will enjoy every bit of it.
Can't unflush that toilet.
I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. And with my bad knee, I shouldn't be throwing anyone.
+1 day off.
The good news is that obamacare will treat your knee such that you will be able to throw Obama as far as you trust him.
"In November, Quinnipiac found that...only 12 percent of Democrats [distrusted Barack Obama]....Eight-one percent of African-Americans trust Obama".
The support for Obama in the African-American community is often portrayed as being absolute, and I think it's interesting that African-Americans, apparently, are more distrusting of Barack Obama than Democrats generally.
Obama's minority status seems to be more important to the support he gets from Democrats generally than it is from people in the African-American community.
There's something in there a candidate that wants to break off some Caucasian, Democrat-leaning, swing vote should probably know.
Rand Paul had the right idea when he went to Howard University. He should go on a tour like that, join a predominately African-American church, and make a huge point of celebrating MLK day, come January.
It isn't about the African-American vote for him--they'll probably vote Democrat anyway. But Caucasian swing voters, apparently, care more about that stuff than most Republicans realize.
The fact that 36% of people polled still approve of how he's handling healthcare shouldn't astound me, but it does. Are there that many idiots and true believers (not mutually exclusive) in this country? If so, we're fucked.
And 48% still think he is trustworthy!
48% of Americans don't understand the concept of lying.
I think i potion of that 36% just doesn't understand the potential impact. When the impact is actual then they will poll diferently.
I'm also shocked that the numbers are that high. How fucking stupid are people?
Re: Outlaw,
They all suffer from Battered Wife Syndrome.
In the end, they'll keep coming for more.
Are there that many idiots and true believers
Yeah, my sister in law is one of them.
Doesn't really follow politics but believes the socialist bullshit about government and thinks Obama's a nice guy (or some such shit) and is happy that her unemployed 25 & 26 year old kids are still on her insurance policy.
I'm so going to enjoy it next year when her employer plan is cancelled.
Re: VG Zaytsev,
Send her a wreath that says "I'm sorry for your loss."
Send it annonymously and then feint shock and disbelief and say "the nerve of those people!"
Don't worry. He'll turn it around just as soon as he finishes coding that website to status: awesome.

Which, apparently, will be sometime in 2016.
Are the last two percentages on the graph reversed? Shouldn't 44% be next to the blue line on bottom?
That was my thought as well.

I got two words for you, lady. "Ha" and "ha."
She looks 20 years old in the website photo and 40 years old in the tv screen shots.
Photoshop!
And she looks much more Latin. They totally photoshoped her to make her look younger and more racially ambiguous. On TV she is obviously a light skinned Latin American. On the website, she could be anything from Southern European to Hispanic to Asian or some mix thereof.
they were taken for free in exchange for them to market the new health care law
If those were stock photos or the shoot was done purely professionally, I would feel bad for her.
As she is a volunteer in government propaganda campaign, I have no sympathy.
Racists!

That's not much of an advantage. Who said that Hispanics were this monolithic group of Democratic borg?
Ah, yes. The xenophobic Republicans did.
I'm surprised it's that high, considering how Mexicans tend to hate blacks.
That's a pretty big generalization there. There are definitely racist Mexicans, but there are also plenty of racist white people. And not all Hispanics are Mexican. Definitely a generational difference, like there is with whites and most other groups, but Hispanics are a relatively young group compared to other groups.
Chart seems screwed up. 44% is placed above 52%.
Even if they don't trust him, they'll vote for him.
The approval ratings are getting so low that our preeminent JournoList trolls have apparently been rendered temporarily speechless.
If only this could become a permanent situation; but I know we'll never get that lucky. They're probably coordinating their new round of messaging right at this very moment.
I don't envy Obama's watercarriers. The most they can say is that detractors are making more of the exchange mess than is warranted, which is probably true. The exchanges can be fixed, but the looming debacles with rising premiums and withheld tax refunds will not be dismissed or blamed on the GOP.
..."a slim majority (52 percent) who say the president is not "honest or trustworthy""
So 48% are illiterate? Blind and deaf? Clinically dead?
Ed Schultz is truly baffled that the media would say anything bad about Obama
Obama's lies don't hurt people; TEAM Red's failure to cover-up and smooth over his lies hurts people.
Remember when "Read my lips, no new taxes" was the worst thing a President could do?
I love it when articles cite poll numbers and percentages. In a life which spans 40 something years, I've been asked exactly once what I thought of a particular issue, by a local university...and I'd bet most Americans are never polled about the range of topics being spouted like so much shit by the mainstream media.
This is why I'm so pessimistic about the direction we're heading in ever changing.
Despite all of the scandals and lies, basically half the country still believes what this clown says and still supports him.
