Sens. McConnell, Paul Hoping To Attach Right-to-Work Amendment to ENDA

Unlikely Democrats in the Senate will let right-to-work legislation go before Obama

WASHINGTON—Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) have proposed an amendment to a workplace discrimination bill in the hopes of creating a national right-to-work law.

The measure—which, as Roll Call reported Monday, was tacked onto the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)—would forbid contracts between companies and labor unions that require workers to pay the union for bargaining on their behalf. Prized by Republicans and business groups and loathed by unions, such laws have made it onto the books in 24 states, most recently in Michigan.

  1. Yes, we need to reflect the reality of the Southern “right to not work” States! Higher per capita employment paid below minimum wage, highest rates of poverty and in turn highest concentration of Walmart’s the New World Orders favorite employer in the U.S.!!! Who needs GM and GE to be our largest employers, that’s so pre trickle down! We now have Walmart as the nations largest employer, with it’s $8 an hour wages and it’s employees on government assistance and Medicaid!

The greatest Middle Class EVER created was created on the backs of a private sector work force that was 33% Unionized and CEO pay was 30 – 40 times that of their average employee.

Today with 6% of the Private Sector Unionized, two incomes are needed in a household to meet what household income was under one employed person in the 80’s, CEO pay is 350 times the average worker and over 30M WORKING people require some form of government assistance!

    White Trash power!
