Violent Crime Rate Bumps Up For Second Year in a Row

Every year, the Bureau of Justice Statistics publishes the results of its National Crime Victimization Survey. The latest one finds that the violent crime rate in 2012 (which includes rape or sexual assault, robbery, aggravated and simple assault) rose from 22.6 victimizations per 1,000 persons in 2011 to 26.1 last year. In 2011, the violent crime rate rose from from 19.3 to 22.5 victimizations per 1,000 persons age 12 or older. That's up from the low point reached in 2010 when the BJS reported that the number of violent criminal victimizations per 1,000 persons age 12 and older had declined from 17.1 to 14.9 victimizations per 1,000 persons between 2009 and 2010.
In 1993, the violent crime rate was 79.8 per 1,000 persons age 12 or older. So even with the increase last year, the violent crime rate is still nearly 70 percent lower than it was two decades ago.

Very Good, on the alt-text. +1 family fued.
er...feud.
What does it take for a cop to get fired?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new.....-park.html
Get violent with another cop for having sex with your spouse, who also happens to be a cop.
Infidelity is perfectly fine, and getting pissed about it can get you fired. That's cop morality for you.
Cops having sex with each other in the cruiser is OK.
Wife catching them and starting a ruckus is bad.
That's fucked up.
The one violent assault by a police officer that I can actually support.
I can't. If she wanted to beat on someone, it should have been her husband, not the other woman. He's the one who promised to be faithful to her. The other one owes her nothing. Sure it's lame to knowingly have an affair with a married person, but it's the spouse who is the one being unfaithful and breaking their promises.
simple assault
Any chance this includes verbal assault? Sure, it isn't what a sane person would call violent but no one accuses the FBI of sanity. Are plea bargains also considered "violent crime"?
I am going to go with what Thomas Sowell says about this. Young men commit 75% of all violent crime. As the percentage of young men decrease so does violent crime. My personal experience, and that of every male I have ever asked, agrees with this assessment.
So this data is an indication of the increased tyranny in the US. It isn't that there are more young men, there are less. It isn't that those young men are more violent, it is that the government considers much more "violent crime" than they did in the past.
Clearly this is Bush's fault.
I blame Obama.
Dude, not cool.
There's no sugarcoating it: that Violent Crime Rate, you didn't build it. (to tow the lion while the Browns let you down one last time into fantasies of Bea Arthur)
Band name?
Obama blames the Tea Party.
It's obviously because Bloomberg was told to end Stop and Frisk. The criminal dark people are no longer cowering.
