Deeply weird vagina cakes for baby showers
http://www.mommyish.com/2013/10/14/vagina-cakes/
I thought Fraud proved everyone is obsessed with penises. The vagina craze is a deeply odd development. Couldn't they obsess over boobs or something?
Sometimes a bloody cleft is just a bloody cleft.
Was that a Fraudian slip, John?
In John's defense, Freud was a bit of a fraud....
I don't know if he was a fraud. He might have been honestly wrong.
He kind of was. I am definitely more partial to Jung.
I obsess about both. Plus nice butts.

You like nice butts and cannot lie?
Surely Cake Wrecks did a post on cakes like this long before this month!
Yes, yes they have.
This has ruined cake for me
I... just... wtf is going on? I know I'm out of touch, but seriously, what is this?
It's like a cake celebrating the destruction of my new sports car.
I, for one, am glad I was not a cake fan prior to viewing that.
This. Although # 4 was a little funny.
I'm a fan of both cake and vaginas, but I only made it to the third pic before I had to leave.
Was it the asshole?
something that looks like frosting on some chick's gash is usually not a good sign.
You don't cut those desserts so much as give them episiotomies.
If the woman who made our wedding cake and the cupcakes for the wife's baby shower made them in the shape of a dong, I would proudly be filmed eating it, her cake are that good.
Freud indeed.
for my 30th, I had a girl (who wasn't my girlfriend at the time) make me a boob cake.
I would have preferred her hair pie.
The latest reporting on the documents leaked by Edward Snowden reveals that the NSA spied on 35 world leaders.
But all of those world leaders were traitors.
Did they have something to hide, hmmm??
It's a global blackmail scheme.
"Capitulate on those tariffs, or we'll leak your affair."
That would never work on the Italians. Or the French.
Would it? I get the sense in those two cultures that NOT having an affair is problematic.
"Or we'll leak your *lack* of affairs."
Only 35? I wonder if the non-35 are insulted they weren't considered important enough to spy on.
Patience, WTF.
Snowden's feeding this stuff out gradually.
I'm not sure I see this as a problem.

You know who else wanted to be a dog?

Wasn't he one of the guys who worked on the healthcare.gov site?
"and chasing cars."
Someone needs to break him of this naughty dog behavior.
Someone needs to break him of this naughty dog behavior.
Fit him with an electronic fence collar and I bet he'll heel.
Wilfred?
We should respect his decision and refer to him by canine pronouns.
I agree. To do otherwise is rude and insulting and bigoted.
I'm happy to treat him like I do pretty much any other dog by ignoring him completely.

Gary Matthews, 47, an unemployed IT technician in Pittsburgh, dons a shaggy dog costume each day to become his alter ego, Boomer.
Yep.
Scott Shackford says, "Hooray Doug Gansler! Party Time! Woo!"
Doug Gansler says, "I just like to see the females twerking"
Shackford, Shackford, Shackford.
It drives me nuts that he immediately saw this as "local politician loves freedom and fun times and not bein' a dick." Gansler works with and speaks for anti-underage drinking organizations, and his particular message is usually something to the effect that parents have a positive responsibility to stop any underage drinking they witness or become aware of. This isn't an example of Gansler having a firm grasp of jurisdictional issues or just being a "hip" parent, this is just another example of hypocrisy.
Hardly sounds like a ringing endorsement of Gansler.
I read the whole thing as criticism of the pearl-clutchers, not praise for Gansler.
Exclusive: Feds confiscate investigative reporter's confidential files during raid
A veteran Washington D.C. investigative journalist says the Department of Homeland Security confiscated a stack of her confidential files during a raid of her home in August ? leading her to fear that a number of her sources inside the federal government have now been exposed.
In an interview with The Daily Caller, journalist Audrey Hudson revealed that the Department of Homeland Security and Maryland State Police were involved in a predawn raid of her Shady Side, Md. home on Aug. 6. Hudson is a former Washington Times reporter and current freelance reporter.
A search warrant obtained by TheDC indicates that the August raid allowed law enforcement to search for firearms inside her home.
The document notes that her husband, Paul Flanagan, pleaded guilty in 1986 to resisting arrest in Prince George's County. The warrant called for police to search the residence they share and seize all weapons and ammunition because he is prohibited under the law from possessing firearms....
Damn you!
Damn you for posting while I was reading the previous comments and typing mine!

So, not actually a journalist

Those papers might have been firearms. These people are truly evil.
But we don't live a police state.
We don't really live here, they just allow us to stay at their leisure.
"They took my notes without my knowledge and without legal authority to do so," Hudson said this week. "The search warrant they presented said nothing about walking out of here with a single sheet of paper."
She obviously never read the "FYTW" clause hidden at the end of the fourth Amendment.
And yet journalist will continue to defend Obama and his Administration.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/10.....ring-raid/
Under the pretense of a warrant for firearms and ammunition, they stole all her notes from investigations that made them look bad, including names of confidential informants. And of course nothing else happened. Well, to the cops that is. No word yet on the informants.
I never heard about this before!

I have never opened the bottle of Fireball I bought in vermont. It's part of my "Interesting label" collection.
Don't bother opening it. Tastes like Big Red.
That's supposed to be a bad thing?
Yes, it does. I did a shot of it once.
WTF....since when does Big red taste like cinnamon?
I think I have a bottle of that too. Seems like a waste of perfectly good whiskey.
It is. Its not even fuckin' spicy. White people (hmmph)
Drink it. You'll be happy.
Doesn't sound much worse than a PBR.

Bakers Buns Were Sexual Harassment
Umm... I guess I don't understand. If he makes these things for a living, what's the big deal about giving away freebies? Talk about ungrateful.
No sugarcoating it in Austria apparently.
ahem. "there's no sugarcoating it, those ladies felt sexually harassed.
Then I'm suing ifh for posting those vagina cakes.
Will you take a drop bear fur rug in settlement?
Let's make it a class action.

Sort of, but they won't when the media gets around to cleaning up their mess.
No it hasn't.

Loser.
Not even that hot.
I don't know, I wouldn't kick her outta bed for eatin' crackers. If I'm droppin' $600 on a new cell phone for her, though, there's gonna have to be some significant quid pro quo.
"Thief" is a highly sought after trait in a potential mate.
Damn straight:
That actually seems to imply that he's not seeking a mate with that trait.
I found this puzzling - he knew about it and married her anyway, and now, after having a kid with her, he starts worrying
I believe this was covered on an episode of King of Queens...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new.....ghbor.html
When will people learn? If someone offers to do a hit for you, you can guarantee they're a cop. Fuck.
Especially for less than $1000. Seriously, if it wouldn't be worth doing 10 years in prison for, its bullshit.
And even if it is worth it, it's still probably bullshit.
Sure, but that's my first thought. If the dude doesn't want at least $500k, he obviously too stupid to trust in such a sensitive deal.
He doesn't look disabled. The Army taught me how to kill people without any help at all.
What is happening to this country? People can't do stuff themselves any more. Probably hired illegal immigrants to do a job Americans won't do themselves.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new.....round.html
CYA in overdrive! They didn't know he was a kid because he had his back to them. But if he had his back to them how could he have seen that they were cops, and how could he have put them in fear for their lives? So they shout an order and immediately start shooting, then keep pumping bullets into him while he's on the ground. No wonder their names aren't being released. The town has every reason and right to string them up by their tiny little balls.
Thanks for the Friday AM nutpunch.
I wonder what the jackboot fascists over at PigOne are saying.
"Glad to hear those heroes got home safely."
My heart goes out to those officers - they must feel bad"
"Another one bites the dust"
"Whew, I didn't think I was going to get my kill in before the end of the year."
"Just think how many people we will be able to kill if we witness them exercising their 1st amendment rights."
"There is no sugarcoating it, that sixth bullet may have been a waste of resources."
They didn't know he was a kid because he had his back to them.
This is a horrible outrageous tragedy and crime. But as bad as it is, that made me laugh out loud. Only cops could be so stupid they would say that.
We didn't know he the backpack wasn't his, we were busy planting evidence in it.
The jokes really do write themselves.
Thing is, they're totally going to get away with it. Failure to immediately obey conflicting commands from terrified officers justifies their killing you. Land of the free and the home of the brave.
I really can't wait for the severe pruning of the police state.
maybe. They would definitely get away with it if they had just shot him. But the six shots after he was on the ground are too much even for cops. I bet they get charged over this.
While the kid was on the ground after being shot, they commanded him to move away from the toy. His refusal to immediately obey justified the continued shooting.
I mean, that's why they shot him in the first place. Not because he made any attempt to point the thing at them, but because he didn't immediately obey a lawful command.
That's where we're at in this country. If you fail to immediately obey a command from someone with a badge, they may kill you.
And nothing else will happen.
I bet they get charged over this.
I'll take that bet. Even if they do get charged, it will be for something far less than a private citizen would face. But I still think the prosecutor declines to charge them.
Even if they get charged, no grand jury who values their own safety will indict.
WTF,
I said charged. No way will it be murder. it will be some BS manslaughter charge. No cop ever gets more than a few years unless it if for killing another cop or embarrassing the force in some way.
I want to know when someone in Washington is going to take this up as a cause, maybe a law that requires a Federal Grand Jury to be conviened for all Office Involved Shootings
Cops unloaded a further six or seven shots into the body of dying teenager Andy Lopez even after he had already hit the ground, claims a neighbor who witnessed the shooting.
Heroes. They have to make sure they go home at night. Furtive movement, totality of circs, etc. etc.
hth
1. Holding the two guns up was a dumb move from a CYA perspective. I don't own an AK, but even I could tell immediately that the gun on the left was not an actual firearm. And I'm not a "highly-trained" police officer.
2. Here's an idea: What if, instead of just opening fire on anyone who has anything that might look like a gun in his/her hands but is not shooting at or threatening anyone with it, you ask them a few questions first? Like maybe try to get a grip on the situation before you empty a clip. Crazy, I know. Officer safety and all that.
3. I think that for every day no one related to this kid or who is familiar with the family doesn't lynch a cop, the family should receive a payout from the local FOP.
4. How long until someone uses this as "proof" that "common-sense" gun control legislation is needed to prevent further senseless deaths?
Shit like this is why I'm becoming more and more convinced of the need to own firearms specifically for the purpose of defending myself against LEOs. Good ol' Protect and Serve is falling all over itself trying to justify the shooting and killing of an adolescent kid playing around with toy guns in his own neighborhood.
Just a friendly reminder.
The Bill of Rights is there to protect you from your own government, up to and most especially including the Second Amendment. That's why it's Second in the pecking order.
Syntactically I always understood the placement of the 2a within the BoR as "I can say what I want, associate with whom I want, etc, and I will back that up with violence if you think you can keep me from doing that.
I saw a good quote about that recently, something to the tune of, "The Second Amendment is there in case the First one fails."
That's why it's Second in the pecking order.
No. It was originally the third on the list but the 1st didn't get ratified so everything shifted up.
In the vast majority of cases, individual ownership of firearms cannot serve as a defense against aggressive LEOs.
Normal human beings with normal moral sentiments take a moment to assess a situation before using lethal force (unless they are drunk.) LEOs have no reason to hesitate before firing away. This gives them an overwhelming tactical advantage.
LEOs are drunk. Drunk on power.
You are right Cato, but the way things are progressing dead of night knocks on the door are going to start taking a very ugly turn.
If you are going to get shot anyway you way as well take one or two down with you.
Individual ownership in individual cases, you're probably right. But individual ownership within a community of like-minded people can serve as a strong deterrent. My owning a gun at home doesn't do much for me if four cops decide to roll up, shoot my dogs, and throw me in irons. The 60 or so other households on my street also owning guns and taking exception to Training Day reenactments, however, shifts the balance.
I agree, but you're describing a state of civil war.
I tend to agree with the woman who said, "America is at an awkward stage: It's too late to fix it, but too early to shoot the bastards", or something like that.
Claire Wolfe.
From 101 Things to Do 'Til the Revolution (1996)
The 60 or so other households on my street also owning guns and taking exception to Training Day reenactments, however, shifts the balance.
Cops derive their power from the fact that no one interferes with them.
If those 60 other households did take exception, it would be war. Literally. As in armored cars with machine guns mowing down women and children in the street. Why do you think cops want military gear? Because they know that the day will soon come when they have to rule by force, instead of by consent of the governed.
Because they know that the day will soon come when they have to rule by force, instead of by consent of the governed.
I believe that day has already come.
I believe that day has already come.
I don't. Lots of people still like the cops.
You know, people who have never been the victim of a serious crime. People who have never been busted for anything more than a speeding ticket. People who haven't had friends or family railroaded for things they didn't do.
People who don't know any better.
Kids in the 1950s had some of the most insane, realistic-looking cap guns I've ever seen. A lot of them made popping noises when the trigger was pulled too!
Any of you old timers know if cops routinely mowed down kids back then for playing with them?
Or would any sort of craven paranoid "OORAH! GET SOME!" shitlicker who would do such a thing been mercilessly hounded out of the department and possibly sent to the electric chair?
That was back before the police declared war on the American people.
Now everyone is a member of a dangerous underclass of deviant criminals until they prove otherwise, and even then they are still suspect.
Only fellow law enforcement and other government employees, people who have gone through background checks and proven their loyalty, can be trusted.
Everyone else is a potential enemy.
Even children.
My brother and I had toy M-16s. We ran around the woods playing army all the time.
Nothing else happened.
When I was older I was target shooting with my .22 on our property (16 acres in a rural area). Unbeknownst to me, I was violating a local ordinance against discharging a firearm. A state tropper heard the shots and walked onto the property, by himself and questioned me about it, and told me I shouldn't be doing what I was doing.
Nothing else happened.
If I did that now I'd be dead.
One of my friend's neighbors (Neighbor A) who is feuding with another neighbor (Neighbor B) called the cops when we were legally shooting at the range we constructed in my friend's backyard.
The cop who showed up made the three of us and my friend's entire family walk around in front of him with our hands out at our sides for about half an hour as he checked things out.
When Neighbor A was informed that Neighbor B wasn't doing the shooting, she apologized profusely.
I fucking hate her. The cop could've killed us and gotten away with it if he wanted to and it would've been all because some bitch with a grudge decided to try to sic the state on Neighbor B.
As a youngster in the early eighties, all of the neighborhood kids would form up armies and play war. Small town. We would have 30 or 40 kids ranging for blocks, going through back yards, hiding in garages, handling toy guns, some of them pretty realistic looking. Everyone was cool with it. A modern police force in certain parts of the country would call in an airstrike on this.
Feds Delay Medicaid Enrollment on Exchanges, Again
But the Progs say medicare for all is the solution.

Look how many of them link to that stupid opening diatribe by Jeff Daniels in Newsroom.
Hmm. I must not be hanging out in the right spots because I've never seen the diatribe you speak of or anyone linking to it.
Documents: Obama administration VA oversaw preventable veteran deaths
The Obama administration's Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) oversaw three preventable veteran deaths due to errors and negligence at a VA hospital in Memphis, according to a new VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) report and other documents obtained by The Daily Caller.
The damning OIG report comes just weeks after VA admitted that six veteran deaths were linked to delayed cancer screenings at a VA facility in South Carolina and a report that appointment delays led to veterans being harmed in Augusta, Ga. VA, which spent more than $3.5 million on furniture on the last day of fiscal year 2013, also awarded a five-figure bonus to the executive who oversaw the Memphis facility, even as it acknowledged that problems were cropping up....
Gotta love single-payer health care.
Those horror stories about socialized medicine are just right wing urban myths. Pauli Krugnuts told me so.
The VA is more like the NHS in the UK. It's not single payer. It's totally government run.
Behold government run healthcare - coming soon to your town.
Haha, beat you to the punch! 🙂

Twitter is seeking up to $1.4 billion in its initial public offering.
It should be limited to 140.
I marveled at people who plunked down money on the FB IPO. Twitter will be the same.
Yep. Gonna make some money!
FB longs are in the black now.
Still trailing the broad market, I believe.
The ACLU and officials from the Ohio city of Defiance have come to a temporary agreement regarding the city's ban on sidewalk messages. The ACLU is arguing that the ordinance in question violates free speech rights and should not apply to chalk messages.
Will they arrest me if I write "Legalize Freedom" on the sidewalk?
Of course. Hate crimes aren't covered.
Twitter is seeking up to $1.4 billion in its initial public offering.
Far less than facebook, but more difficult to monetize. I'm not sure Twitter is as important as media types think it is. I won't delete my facebook, I don't touch the twitter. Can twitter even grow? I think we already pay too much attention to tweets. I can't imagine a world where significantly more people send tweets and an even larger number of people care about what's being tweeted.
And fuck hashtags.
I don't really do Twitter either, but it's used a lot as a sort of "breaking news" platform on a lot of the sports fora I visit.

Aw, thanks!
Sorry, waffles but you are over-estimating the intelligence of the American public. Twitter is perfect for twits because anything more than 140 characters starts to confuse them.

Good to see such a noble stand against ad hominems.
I would like to see the Braves renamed the Atlanta Rednecks for a little regional flavor. The "Braves" followed the team from Boston and Milwaukee.
How about the Atlanta Bowties? No one would get the reference. I like you line of thinking though. Why not embrace your charicature instead of pearl clutching about it?
The "Atlanta Rednecks", the "Chicago Gangsters", the "San Francisco Hippies", the "Los Angeles Starlets". I'm in.

I'll just leave this here.

That is actually a good one.

Have you even heard of Duck Dynasty? Maybe Jeff Foxworthy?
Do you think for one second that actual rednecks would be insulted for a single second that a team was named the 'Rednecks'.
Hell I'd bet that any team which did that would see it's merchandising revenue at least double
Yes, they would. Calling someone a redneck is sort of like calling someone a nigger. Rednecks can call other rednecks a redneck, but as soon as someone else goes there, it's an insult.
Yeah, which means they might get pissy of a New York or San Francisco team was named the Rednecks. A team from the south or midwest however would be seen as "one of them" and proudly embraced.
How about the Atlanta Black Crackers? I already have the hat.
Renaming was the "Washington Senators" to the "Texas Rangers" was a step up.

Health Insurance cancellation rate higher than health exchange enrollment rate. All political bullshit aside, if this continues through, oh, June, it is hard for me to see the Dems retaking the House. But I thought that about the labor force participation rate and the 2012 Presidential election as well.
People know the GOP has no solution for anything.
If they did they would fucking propose one.
What amazes me is how much better the Obamacare health insurance plan is over what we had before, and over any competing proposals. You're absolutely right, if Republicans are so against it, what do they propose to replace it that will also provide coverage to all the vulnberable people who really need it?
it is fabulous. It is not like thousands of people are not losing their insurance and millions more seeing their policies rewritten.
For the one half of one percent who have an expensive pre-existing condition and are eligible for the subsidies, it is a miracle. The fact that 70% of the country is being totally screwed is just a fair price to pay for that.
It amazes me how much better things are. Those people who have lost their insurance and are angry are just racist or something.
Bullshit.
I can compare and contrast my options and my current is infinitely better and cheaper than the nearest ACA-compliant plan.
And sorry, I did that wrong, trying again:
10# Pils
1# Wheat malt
2# Sugar (just plain white sugar)
1.5 oz Styrian Goldings 75 min
0.5 oz Saaz 5 min
3 g ground ginger 15 min
6 g orange peel 15 min
2 g paradise seed 15 min
WLP565 Saison Yeast
What's with the sugar? You like a cidery aftertaste?
Myth.
Horrible homebrewers myth thats been disproven plenty of times.
The purpose is to dry out the beer and get a much higher level of attenuation, as the sugar is near 100% fermentable.
More on the myth.
You know what a good way to end up with a cidery aftertaste is? Underpitch your yeast.
You know a good way to underpitch your yeast? Make a bigger beer by adding sugar to boost the amount of fermentables and not making a yeast starter.
I don't like big beers so I don't worry about it.
Me either. I like the German stuff. The Belgium stuff is often just too sweet and heavy.
The Belgium stuff is often just too sweet and heavy.
Considering how much sugar they use, what it aint is heavy. Sweet, sometimes, but that varies.
But compared to say a good German dopplebock they aint heavy.
True Rob, I meant it more as "heavy in flavor" not heavy in the technical sense used in describing beer. You are right, it is not a stout or a dopplebock.
I like the Belgium stuff. But it is not a beer I would want to drink a lot. It is just so rich and so strong that it is more of a once in a while thing.
Don't believe your lying eyes Rob. Don't fall into that bourgeois truth. Believe the revolutionary truth the party gives you.
what do they propose to replace it that will also provide coverage to all the vulnberable people who really need it?
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need?
Justin S. Send me a check for $900. Now.
If Republicans are so against it, what do they propose to replace it that will also provide coverage to all the vulnberable (sic) people who really need it?
Who established that as the criteria?
That problem didn't require a solution and it's not incumbent on me to "fucking propose one".
We already had a system to provide medical care to the poor. It's called Medicaid.
We already had a system to allow people who incur medical debts they can't pay to discharge them. It's called bankruptcy.
My proposal is a return to the status quo ante Obama. Or better yet, the status quo ante EMTALA.
Who established that as the criteria?
people who believe the only solution is a govt solution.
Or better yet, the status quo ante EMTALA.
And Medicare with Part D too.
Now we're talking. It pisses me off to no end to pay for UNLIMITED BENEFITS Medicare my entire life while getting shut out of the insurance market myself for a pre-existing condition.
You do realize that EMTALA is before Part D, right?
The pre-existing condition element is such a red herring. It effects a minimal amount of people, and if it was really that important could have been passed as a standalone, three line bill. There was no need to pass such a monumental clusterfuck just to solve that issue.
I know all that. I have harped on Reagan's EMTALA for years.
... what do they propose to replace it that will also provide coverage to all the vulnberable people who really need it?
Medicaid?
"What amazes me is how much better the Obamacare health insurance plan is over what we had before, and over any competing proposals."
Um weren't "competing plans" effectively outlawed under Obamacare in that you could in theory buy one but you'd still be subject to the penaltax because your plan was not compliant.
Second how much of a "subsidy" are you getting (aka how much are you stealing from my pockets to pay for your insurance)
Well, the null case right now had more people insured.
Not all change is good.
That is the beauty of fucking things up. You can always claim, "it would have been worse had I not done this". Liberals rewrite history all of the time. If they can believe Lee Harvey Oswald was a rightwinger or that Jimmy Carter was a good President, they will have problems believing that the biggest public policy disaster since price controls made things better.
Didn't some dead French guy talk about what is seen versus what is unseen 170 years ago?
Didn't some dead guys in Nicaea do that too 1600 years ago?
Sure, unemployment has been several percentage points higher than the "disastrous" no-stimulus projections used to justify it... but imagine how even higherer it would have been if we didn't do the stimulus!
If only we could have spent more!!
IT WOULDA BEEN WORSE!
The greatest liberal lie of all time is their version of the Hoover administration. Now accepted as complete fact, but almost completely wrong.
Because when central planning fails the solution is central planning. Fucking fuck you're stupid.
Let's dig our way out!
Dig up, stupid, up!
In order to increase the number of people who have healthcare, we first had to decrease the number of people in healthcare.
In order to save healthcare, we had to destroy healthcare.
If nobody has healthcare then we're all equal?
A rising tide lifts all boats, but ACA takes away everyones boats and issues arm floaties.
There wasn't a problem to begin with.
There were tons of problems. The ridiculous levels of market restrictions kept driving prices through the roof.
How do you propose addressing the problem of income disparity between you, PB, and me? I have a plan whereby you send me $200 each week (PayPal's fine), which we'll adjust on an annual basis to account for inflation and cost-of-living.
Don't like it? Then propose your own, similar solution to the problem I've framed in a vacuum or I'll call you an obstructionist.
What could possibly be the point. You know, because you'd join in the chorus, that regardless of what they proposed they would be called racists.
Iowa teaching assistant sends students nude photos instead of math answers ? and shows up the next day
Why not just act as though nothing had happened?
Pics or it didn't happen.
You got a nice pic of the campus. Not good enough for you?
No.
Honestly not worth the time or effort. I've seen.
Recently released FBI data show Tennessee had the highest per capita violent crime rate in the nation in 2012. Statistically, 643.6 out of every 100,000 residents were victims of murder, rape, robbery or aggravated assault.

It's pretty much all in Memphis too.
World's strongest beer 'Snake Venom' launched
I didn't realize you could get 135 proof without separations.
How do you get that kind of alcohol content without distilling it? That seems incredibly odd and would likely taste nasty.
and would likely taste nasty.
You didn't figure that part out from the word "beer"? :-p
(Seriously, I'm one of those wackos who doesn't like carbonated beverages, so I don't like any beer.)
I go back and forth about it. If it is really good beer, my Teutonic nature allows me to drink it by the gallon. But anything less than good beer, just leaves me feeling really full and not that drunk.
You'd have to distill it or freeze it or fortify it. I don't think that there is any yeast that can go beyond 15% or so.
In any case, I'd question whether "beer" is the right term for it.
If it is distilled or fortified, I don't see how it is beer. By that definition whiskey is beer. That is all whiskey is, distilled beer.
Nope. Its malt liquor if you fortify it.
It's frozen to remove water. So I suppose you could call it an ice beer. But that is still a bit of a stretch, I'd say. You don't call applejack made that way "cider".
The problem with using ice to concentrate the alcohol is that it concentrates the bad stuff too. Bad stuff like methanol and fusel oils.
The ATF says you need a distiller's license to do that. You don't need a distiller's license to make beer.
I've tried freezing to concentrate the alcohol and all it did was give me a terrible hangover. And it tasted terrible. Not doing it again.
I've done it with cider a few times. I thought it tasted OK, but I didn't end up with enough to test the hangover.
Brewmeister was lying about the strength of Armageddon as it didnt actually break 30%. Im assuming ditto.
Shorter Jon Stewart: It is a "cop out" to not give the left more money and power whenever they fail. Personal responsibility is the easy way out. The intellectually tough wait for a Strong Man on White Horse to take total control and protect them from all harm. Everything else is a cop-out.
Charles Krauthammer squares off against Jon Stewart on the merits of conservatism
CK: "[Paul Ryan's] assumption is that the welfare state as established with great success by liberals has now reached a point where it no longer fits. With the new demographics and with the higher technology and medicine, we will simply become insolvent unless we radically reform.
...
JS: "If it was ever presented in that fashion, the way you just presented it, I think the conversation we would be having in this country would be very different."
It's been presented in that fashion over a billion times, you nincompoop. Why do people think Stewart is smart again?
The media, including Stewart, have spent decades ensuring that it is never presented that way. And now Stewart wonders why Republicans were not saying this all along.
I think he means the part where we first concede that the welfare state has been a brilliant success.
Only conceding the left's main points will ennoble us to the degree required to allow us to discuss reform. As long as we oppose their basic principles, we're evil teathuglicans who don't get to discuss reform.
Yeah, but that was basically the basis of his entire campaign as VP .
Ryan's Speech: Soc Sec has served its purpose well, but it's running out of money and I want to make sure it's there for my kids and grandkids.
Left's Reaction:"ZOMG PRIVATIZATION! HIS 10% REDUCTION IN MEDICARE SPENDING WILL CAUSE THE ELDERLY TO DIE IN THE STREETS!"
They always get real reasonable and start admitting the obvious after the person is no longer a danger to win an election.
Jon Stewart, top intellectual role model of high school students every where
I thought it was interesting because it seemed to me that Krauthammer was giving Stewart a bit of an backhanded jab by saying that these things were the great accomplishments of liberalism...and their about to fail and destroy us all.
they're
fuck
Fuck Krauthammer, fuck Stewart. The welfare state was established with great success? "Higher" technology and medicine? The things Krauthammer said are nonsensical.
Sean Hannity, racist.
On the top of Thursday's broadcast of his radio show, Sean Hannity revealed Erling Davis, the Obamacare operator he called early in his Monday show, got fired. Hannity quizzed her on how well the law is being received by applicants and she revealed no one liked it. Hannity had Davis on his show today and revealed he will give her a year's salary of $26,000 and help her find a new job.
What a heartless thug. I didn't believe it possible but now I dislike Hannity even more. He's going out of his way to be decent just to spite his critics. You can't make up villains worse than this.
I know. That sham Iraq veterans charity he set up to personally bilk was not really like him at all.
Cite? I'll wait.
Sean Hannity and Ollie North accused of scamming Veterans
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2.....-veterans/
ERMAGERD!!
Accused. That word doesn't mean what you think it means.
Even for a disgusting lowlife shitheel like Weigel, this is totally pathetic.
The notion that Freedom Alliance is a "scam" is based on the fact that less than 100% of the proceeds that are donated end up going to the families of veterans.
By that definition, almost every charity on the face of the earth is a "scam".
And lets not forget that pretty much every large charity, including most notably the United Way, has had one or another scandal involving high living top execs.
Yep. And United Way has more overhead cost than pretty much every other charity in existence, but you'll never hear any left-wing assclown call the United Way a "scam".
Thus spoke shreek, the king of the idiotic non sequiter.
Leave it the Obama machinery to make Hannity look the hero.
Good for Hannity for helping out someone in his private capacity. However, fuck Sean Hannity for doing far more damage by brainwashing right-wing sheep every day on his radio show. He and Mark Levine are completely insufferable. I literally have a listening-threshold of thirty seconds with both of them.
You know, your radio does have an "off button". And you don't believe everything those guys say, maybe their listeners don't either. Just a thought.
I haven't listened to them in years. That doesn't make them any less terrible. Hannity and Levin both have zero talent for actually engaging in debate. It's like Justing Bieber. People (little girls) still have a right to listen to him, but I'm still going to say he sucks ass.
I have never listened to those two. I have listened to Limbaugh. Limbaugh is quite funny and a first rate entertainer.
Spot on. Limbaugh never gets credit for what he actually is: one of the greatest entertainers of our time.
I haven't listened to them in years.
Yet, somehow, you know they are brainwashing their listeners.
The latest reporting on the documents leaked by Edward Snowden reveals that the NSA spied on 35 world leaders.
But John Kerry says political dysfunction is what has has damaged our reputation in the world.
This whole outrage over the NSA listening to world leaders' phone calls is ridiculous. That is their job. And more importantly, intelligence makes the world safer by reducing the chance that governments misunderstand or misjudge other countries intentions. Miscalculation is generally how wars start. If it comes out that the KGB is listening in at the White House, I will angry at the Secret Service for not doing a better job at security. I am not going to be angry at the Russians.
Though I agree to an extent, I do think that listening in on your closest allies' cell phones is a bit much. Putin's cell phone? Kim Jong IL's barbie phone? Ok. Merkel's? Not so much.
I don't have a problem with that either. It is just how governments operate.
Agree.
Israel stole nuke materials from us. Doesnt stop us from jailing anyone caught, doesnt stop us from being allies.
Doesnt stop us from jailing anyone caught,
So who will the Germans be jailing for illegally tapping Merkel? 😉
If they catch them in Germany they might. And that is their right.
Anyone they can catch and prove did it.
"Prove"?
What is this "prove"?
Why can't they just kidnap any American they find, put them in extralegal detention, hold them their for years, and then give them secret military trials, after announcing that even if the kangaroo courts find them guilty they're not letting them go?
That is really what they should do.
illegally tapping Merkel
I'm going to assume that by "tapping", you meant "wiretapping."
I always figure the complaints are just posturing. Everyone knows that every country spies on every other to the extent that they can get away with and afford.
What Zeb said.
Yeah, this is just a pretext.
But, the fact remains, they are pissed at Obama, and were willing to look for and use a pretext to publicly slap him around.
District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray supports decriminalizing possession of small amounts of marijuana because the drug is not particularly harmful and because arresting people for possession can do significant damage.
He still wants it to be a criminal offense to smoke marijuana on sidewalks
"Vote for Vincent Gray: He got drugs off the streets!"
That is a compromise I can live with. Yeah, it is a public street and all of that. But I am willing to cede the streets if I can have my home back.

Oh yeah, "whoops, we accidentally ate the hardon horse biscuits by accident."

The builders of One World Trade Center?
It always struck me that the side effect warning is the best advertisement Viagra could ever have written.
You just know when they got the letter from the FDA warning them that they absolutely had to include in every ad a warning about the danger of 4 hour erections, everyone in the office high-fived.
I am sure you noticed how they added "and may cause serious complications" to this warning. Telling a man that he might have a four hour erection isn't a warning, but I might be for his wife.
"it might be" or "I might be" either works.
If you know what they do when you have a 4 hour erection, it becomes a good warning.
Ron Jeremy?
Are those biscuits hung like a horse?
No One Sabotaged Obamacare
...I should make it clear that I have precisely no intention whatsoever of ceasing to "root for failure." I am actively hoping for the abject and embarrassing deterioration of Obamacare and I am not remotely ashamed to admit it. I loathe the law as a piece of public policy, as a means by which federal involvement in health care and society is being expanded rather than reduced, and as an unlovely example of the arrogance that presidents in the modern era have come to exhibit. Like Ed Rogers, "I would like to see the project's collapse deter those who think a bigger, more domineering U.S. government is the answer to our problems." And, like David Harsanyi, I want the project to fail "so hard that any residual perception among voters that any part of it was prudent policy is completely eliminated."
In this regard, the Washington Post's Greg Sargent is absolutely correct when he complains that aristarchs such as myself "don't envision the federal government playing an ambitious oversight role in regulating the health system ? or spending the money necessary ? in service of the goal of expanding coverage to tens of millions of uninsured." I don't....
They were no doubt jerking off to Bush's Big Gov Medicare Welfare Drug Plan and the trillion dollar Iraq sham.
BUHSPIG!!!
Just keep screaming BUSH!!! there shreek. That will totally get everyone to forgive Obama. By January you will be claiming Obamacare passed in 2007 and was all Bush's idea. If you were not so pathetic, you would be funny.
And Bo wonders why we respond to his Iraq war tangent with "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSCH".
It is all they have left. At least Obamacare isn't the Iraq war. If that is not a convincing case of its success I don't know what is.
Obamacare is going to end up costing a lot more than the Iraq war. It will just take longer to for the debt and body count to pile up.
Yes it will. And it is going to personally affect a lot more Americans. I think maybe 1% of the country ever fought in the Iraq war. At least 75% of the country are going to be worse off thanks to Obamacare. And the Iraq war ended. Obamacare, if the liberals get their way will go on and on.
It's a government program. It won't go away until the government does.
Eventually the Iraq War ended. Will we ever say the same for this episode in stupidity?
NCLB and Medicare Welfare Part D won't end.
Bush = worse than Obama by trillions.
Yeah because millions of people saw their health insurance get worse or had to pay a penalty because of Medicare Part D.
Try again shreek. And last I look Medicare Part D passed with the support of a ton of Democrats, just like the Iraq war. Bush must have hypnotized them or something.
Democrats are a sorry ass opposition party - on that we agree.
It's projected to cost $75b per year over the next decade, is perpetually under budget, and included no tax hikes or substantial new regulatory burdens. Totally a worse entitlement, especially when you factor in that the ACA is going to save us boat loads of money.
And remember KDN, they were only able to pass it via reconciliation because they got the CBO to claim it was "budget neutral". How is that working out?
Because Bush passed it by Executive Order over Democratic objections - right?
Christ on a crutch, how many times does this need to be said before it sinks the fuck in?
Whether or not Bush is comparatively "worse" or "better" than Obama has absolutely no relevance to the merits of Obama's policies and the performance of his administration. When two things share a similar trait or quality, we use the word, "also," to indicate the relationship between the two.
My older car lacking A/C and power steering doesn't magically un-break down my new car. If my current girlfriend cheats on me, recalling the fact that my previous girlfriend cheated on me twice does not suddenly mean that current girlfriend didn't fuck the mailman. She is--and this is very, very important, so pay attention--ALSO unfaithful.
So, wwhorton, did you enjoy being the wall who screams back? 😉
Seriously, I don't understand why anyone wastes anytime acknowledging shriek exists.
It is a puddle of neurons that can't think. It is the Internet equivalent of an alky-soaked homeless guy shrieking at the wall.
He is overjoyed when the wall shrieks back.
Dude, I try, but sometimes it's just like a dog seeing a squirrel. I know there's no point, I know I should take the high road, but I see a small, furry creature make a furtive movement and before I know it I'm haulin' ass around the yard.
"puddle of neurons"
I'm stealing that.
And Bo wonders why we respond to his Iraq war tangent with "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSCH".
What does the German manufacturing company have to do with Iraq?
+1 refrigerator
I don't "want" it to fail, because wanting it to fail implies that it could work, and I'm just hoping it doesn't. Obamacare has no shot at working. I'm just sitting back and waiting for the tears of those who want it to work.

Catholic League outraged that imam costumes don't come with erections
Is there a difference between an imam costume and a mohammed costume? If you dress as the imam and call yourself the prophet mohammed are you being offensive? Inquiring minds want to know.
There is a simple explanation why costume companies think it's ok to attack Christianity and not Islam.
One religion says to turn the other cheek while the other religion demands you wage war against the infidels.
Those costumes are offensive. I am not surprised that a Catholic group is upset about it.
The article doesn't mention any calls for a ban of the costumes, so I'm fine with the way everyone is acting in this situation.

More people have had their insurance canceled than have enrolled in Obamacare. I have been killing my liberal friends with this. Who do you care about more, Obama or the people who are losing their insurance? Does anyone care about these people?
Nothing hurts then more than the possibility that they might not care more than anyone else.
Yeah, I went into a Home Depot and asked the stock guy if he would miss his $5000 max benefit insurance and he admitted he wouldn't.
What were his thoughts on having his hours reduced to part time?
He was happy about it. Now that he's down to 29 hours per week he'll make less than $15,280 and be eligible to enroll in Medicaid. Hooray!
Also, he's now eligible for food stamps. Hurrahhh!!!!
This is a very serious problem. Young, low-income workers will face a new major life decision at various stages in their career. The welfare state has created enormous marginal tax rates of well over 100% on earned income. As they gain experience and become able to earn more, they face the prospect of losing after-tax wage and welfare income in return for earning more pre-tax wages since the welfare component of their income diminishes with higher wage income. The vicious cycle of welfare described by Rothbard is all too real, and under ObamaCare it extends up to 400% of poverty line.
Yes. And the longer they stay in low paying jobs, the harder it is going to be for them to get out of them. People usually don't make big single jumps in income. The way it usually works is that they slowly work through jobs getting increasingly higher pay as their experience and skills increase. But the welfare trap will cause people to turn down that job that only pays a little more and thus never go anywhere.
Oh yeah, that totally makes it better. I take back my request. Tell your handlers to keep sending you here. Your defenses of this trainwreck are going to be comedy gold. The talking points are funny enough. But then you fuck them up and they hit a new high in retardation. Keep them coming shreek. You have a gift.
Wait a second...
Are they using my "They must not have liked it" joke without irony now? Fucking seriously?
Yes, they are claiming that people hated their old insurance and are happy about it being cancelled or rewritten.
I'm just amazed that a joke I was making within the past week has now become one of the talking points.
You can't satirize this world. We are living in an issue of The Onion.
I didn't particularly love my shitty insurance policy, but I totally hate being forced to have even worse insurance and paying much more for it.
Right, probably becasue he is healthy and doesn't need or go to a doctor. Think much?
Home Depot's plans for part-time workers provided coverage of up to $20,000 depending on the plan and were administered by Aetna Inc.
So fuck off.
I went into a Home Depot and asked the stock guy if he would miss his $5000 max benefit insurance be able to afford the $3,000 / year Obama policy he'll be forced to buy and he admitted he wouldn't.
The current lefty blogger position is that the cancelled plans were bad plans so the people who lost them will be better off with the new, more expensive Obamacare plans.
They just don't know it yet.
Because the people who buy things know less about what they want than fucking Digby knows about what they SHOULD want.
They are shitty plans. McDonalds part time plan is a $10,000 max payout and $1000 deductible.
The rest is a leap of faith.
nothing is as shitty as an Obamacare policy. works like a high deductible catastrophic, has premiums like a Cadillac plan. in case you haven't noticed, people are rejecting them. enjoy the midterms asshole.
Well, my plan is a mid-tier plan, and the cost will seems slated to more than double under Obamacare. If my company ends up dropping insurance and chooses to pay whatever penalty instead, I'll likely be without insurance.
My wife works for the University of Maryland, and I'm on her coverage. Which is good, because the premiums on my company's group plan just went up, and because it meets the minimum standards set by the ACA I can't get a subsidy or credits or anything for whatever I might buy through the exchange. You know, once it actually works and all.
So I'm kind of curious as to how long my wife's policy will continue to provide for spousal coverage.
Up until the next enrollment period is my guess. Maybe the one following, if you are lucky.
Ask UVA faculty/staff spouses how that's working out for them.
McDonalds part time plan is a $10,000 max payout and $1000 deductible.
That sounds pretty fucking good to me. BTW, according to the little chart of available plans that Carefirst BCBS sent me, that would be a Gold Plan and would cost me north of $400 a month.
Aw, shit. I read max payout as the OOP cap. O well, $1000 deductibles are the new "Gold" standard for insurance policies, at least in the individual market.
Only last week I made a joke (at Obama's expense) about someone's plan getting taken away by saying "She must not have liked it". Now they are actually using that non-ironically.
It depends on who is losing their insurance. Backwoods rednecks? No problem. They're just racists anyways. Middle class businessmen? No problem. They're just TeathugliKKKans anyways.
The Bloody History of the Barber Pole
I'd say I thought everyone knew this, then I remembered that nowadays nobody knows anything. Barber/surgeons were looked down upon by the rest of the medical profession - IIRC, in Great Britain a surgeon for a long time (still?) was referred to as Mister instead of Doctor because of the ancient association with barbering.
In Britain and Australia all specialists are addressed as "mister". Only GPs and non-specialist dentists are called "Doctor".
There was an awesome episode of Monsters (anybody remember that show?) about barbers having descended from ancient pagans and the pole was a symbol of blood sacrifice.
Well, whaddya know...

Obama wants Marines to wear 'girly' hats
"And you will *enjoy* it, fag, uh, maggot!"
Brought to you by the same mindset that brought us Shinseki's Folly (aka have a black beret, for we are all elite now!).
One unisex hat saves money!
Not if you have to replace all the current hats.
Get rid of uniforms entirely and let them fight naked.
Add some blue paint, and we can go all Celtic on our enemy's asses.
It's also very gay.
How exactly does it save money? Does the girly hat cost less?
The Marine Corps issues graduating recruits exactly 1 dress cover - after that replacements come out of their own pockets.
How many hats are in the inventory that would be thrown away?
Had to buy Dress Blues when I was in, but I'm an old fart.
Just make the WMs wear the standard covers, their uniforms are a goof anyway. If you go to 8th and I, the palace guards make the WMs wear male covers.
I don't completely agree. There ought to be a combination of flattering and professional (at least in the service and dress uniforms) for each gender. The male uniforms have that worked out pretty much by default, since they've been developed over generations and we have that whole man-in-a-uniform thing going on. Most of the women's uniforms I've seen are grossly unflattering, which is unfortunate though not exactly a crisis.
I think the Navy's khaki blouses have been a step in the right direction for what it's worth.
Sure, they have to be cut right, that's basic tailoring. I don't know why women can't have a choke collar like males do and then just cut the blouse and pants to fit those asses.
I know the Navy went back to Khaki dress (what the Marines should have done with Greens) but never saw the female version. Have to check in with my squid brother.
Had to buy my own Blues also - in '89 only the honor grad got them free.
Is the guy on the right wearing makeup? I have seen less rosy cheeks on a clown?
"It's camo stick, asshole!"
In case he's fighting at the Rose Bowl Parade?
Eh, just Dissolve the Corps, they're duplicated effort anyway.
Dissolve the Army, the Corps does the same job better with less money and the last generation's stuff.
The only reason they have the last generation's stuff is because the Army is there to give it to them.
Otherwise they'd have rocks and sharp sticks.
I fail to see why the proposed hats are controversial. Get back to me when he orders the Navy SEALS to be renamed the Navy BEARS.
"I did not say that!"
I saw this shit linked on drudge and immediately clicked to find the actual connection of this proposal directly to Obama and whadya know, didn't find it. I know the guy's the CINC and all, but just because some O-4 in the HQ is working up some proposal does not equate to The Man directing it.
It was some guy in the NYP trying to find an excuse to blame Obama. Very easy to find stuff to blame the god-king for, don't need to make shit up.
Well now that we're here...
Man meets daughter-in-law on blind date
That is not real. That is the plot of a pron movie.
Exactly what kind of porn are you watching, John?
BBW MILF pron?
Something involving chubsters?
Hey bones are for dogs.
I thought sumo was Japanese.
Thank goodness the Chinese don't have Thanksgiving. Man, that would be a looong Thursday afternoon.
Speaking of China:
Cockroaches: the new miracle cure
Do they like pi?a coladas and getting caught in the rain?
And they're not into yoga, and they have half a brain.
What is the end game here?
I'm guessing, Well we're both here...
Yeah, I went into a Home Depot and asked the stock guy if he would miss his $5000 max benefit insurance and he admitted he wouldn't.
The worst part is, Home Depot implanted an explosive chip in his neck which will kill him if he tries to buy any additional coverage.
Fucking monsters.
A little something for the H&R lawyers.
The comments are great.
South Carolina, too small to be a country, too big to be an insane asylum.
Really? I was thinking about taking their bar exam.
That is the saying. I think it is a beautiful stat full of friendly people and beautiful women. I would live in Charleston or Columbia in a heartbeat. If you can get a job there, go for it.
I fell in love with Charleston two vacations ago. But registering for the bar there is stupid. They close the registration window 6 months before the exam. And it's hugely expensive. I may still take it anyway, I'm a glutton for punishment.
Do it. It's a nice jurisdiction to practice in. It would be nice to another denizen of H&R in the Bar.
heh
Well that's an odd one.
If you read the order the email thing was pretty just the icing on the cake for the Court.
I can never unsee that.
Georgie Schwartz, or whatever fucking name he's using these days, is all in for Hillary.
It is not the first time he has been all in for a dear leader.
It's amazing how much George Soros liked George Bush's policies.
I mean he has thrown his support consistently behind the pro-torture pro-foreign-aggression wing of the Democratic Party.
He is a flat out fascist. The only reason he was ever angry at Bush was because he didn't go far enough and did not let Soros in on the deal.
The thing that impresses me about Soros is how illiberal (from a classical liberal perspective) the orgs he funds are.
Look at the Robin Hood tax he was proposing (during the astro-turf inflation of the Occupy movement), that would have penalized small investors and made arbitrage prohibitively expensive for everyone but big investors.
fortunately, Warren Buffet kicked Soros' balls by kissing up to Obama proposing an inheritance tax increase which if implemented would have driven more business to his life insurance and fire-sale family business purchasing businesses.
I suspect that Soros purchase of Hillary has more to do with his desire to curb stomp Buffet for depriving him of his crony capitalistic effort to drive the little guys out of the arbitrage business.
I hope it will backfire. Just as Obama stabbed Soros in the back when Buffett offered him a better political boost, Hillary will stab him in the back if ever she gets the chance. Of course, he will continue to get rich by keeping little people out of the markets he plays in.
Like many business people, Soros is a bit of a naif in politics. He doesn't understand that some people are more dishonest than he is. Also, in business your ability to screw over your friends is a bit limited since people can just stop doing business with you. In government, that limit is much higher, especially at the Presidential level. Soros doesn't get that.
Soros had nothing to do with the OWS idiots.
That is another wingnut myth.
You really ARE that stupid, aren't you?
George Soros provided funding and logistical support for Occupy:
http://www.humanevents.com/201.....ll-street/
The amazing thing is that Ad Busters has organized something like 15 - 20 campaigns to raise awareness.
Only one has been splashed on the evening news. Comically there was a thread one one of the Occupy Wallstreet forums bitching that Ad Busters was trying to coopt the movement... that Adbusters had nominally created.
The grand bargain that seemed to be going around was a that the wastrels would get their college loans forgiven by the government and there would be a Robin Hood tax to finance it.
Naturally, the Robin Hood tax was what the astroturfers wanted. The debt forgiveness was intended to rally the unwashed (literally!) masses.
And once Buffet successfully got Obama to promote the inheritance tax, the Robin Hood tax/jubilee suddenly vanished, and the Occupy movement collapsed.
I guess being chased around by Nazis as a boy makes a person a little anti-rightwing for life.
Funny how Soros stayed out of politics until 2001.
Actually he and his father worked rounding up Jews
Yeah those Nazis sure were big believers in limited government, property rights, and free market economics.
Seriously how are you this stupid?
I've got money on in-breeding and hard work.
I was talking about Republicans.
Don't bring classical liberalism into this.
You must play for Team Red.
I'm amazed that a Nazi hunter hasn't put a bullet in his head yet for being a lowlife collaborator who helped send his own people to the gas chambers.
I always thought the Brits would do it.
+1 Sterling
How about you look up the Fascist economic model and tell me how that differs from what your Democrat friends support.
Any mention of Soros or Buffett will have shreek on his knees, busy slurping away.
Guaranteed.
Which is comical, because Buffet and Soros are big rivals who essentially are trying to fuck each other over.
Buffet's life insurance businesses stood to lose millions were soros' Robin Hood tax implemented. After Soros invested millions into creating the Occupy movement to create a popular outcry for the Robin Hood Tax, Buffet hijacked the movement to pimp a inheritance tax that beneffited Buffet.
The one constant behind Buffett and Soros' crony capitalism is that regardless of who is ascendant, the little guy loses.
Soros had nothing to do with the OWS idiots.
That is another wingnut myth.
as I said - guaranteed.
George Soros provided funding and logistical support for Occupy:
http://www.humanevents.com/201.....ll-street/
He made money rounding up Jews and stealing their things. And he wasn't a boy. He was a teenager. He knew better. And he has never expressed any remorse over it.
The happiest time of his life.
National Socialist Workers Party.
Yeah, really right wing.
Yeah, the "socialist workers" party banned collective bargaining and labor unions immediately to build up their racist war machine.
Big swing and miss for you.
guess who wrote this?
Hilter dissolved all labor unions in May 1933 and sent the leaders to concentration camps.
So he lied? All conservatives do.
Labor Unions are illegal in Cuba and pretty much every other communist country in history. Once the state owns and or controls the industry, labor unions become subversive and are thus illegal.
So of course Hitler banned unions. That is what leftists do once they fully consolidate power.
Shreek, you don't even understand your own ideology.
Remember when Obama called striking workers criminals?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEHKBqlpYwM
Never saw that ... man, that guy is incoherent without his teleprompter.
Labor Unions are illegal in Cuba and pretty much every other communist country in history.
In the USSR trade unions were an arm of the state and very powerful.
Hilter dissolved all labor unions in May 1933 and sent the leaders to concentration camps.
So did Stalin, does that make him a right wing anarchist?
Useful idiots are only useful for so long. After that they are annoying potential rivals - to be disposed of ASAP.
That's what really amuses me about morons like Shreek.
I imagine that when the time comes, it won't take the Plug long to win the victory over himself.
Sorry, but no.
The National Socialist Workers party did those things in order to make everyone subservient to the State. For the betterment of the State and Society.
In other words, Socialism.
Just not the "democratic" version of the other socialist movements in Western Europe at the time. It was Socialism for the for the good and progress of the Nation. National Socialism.
Your Proggie forebears were big fans of this, and still are.
PB, that is a really stupid comment.
I suppose you think that because the labor unions in the Soviet Union and Poland bargained as genuine representatives of their coerced membership as well.
Neither NSDAP Germany nor the Soviet Union had independent labor unions or collective bargaining.
They were both socialist states. The only significant distinguishing features is the NSDAP's odious racial policies made it a national party whereas Marxism is inherently international.
Collectivists are collectivists....
You got to give a shout out though to the propoganda effort of post WWII left acedamia that successfuly convinced the masses that the system of national socialism that they were fawning over prior to the war was really closer to the American right wing.
I really wish some non left professor in college would play a joke on their students. Take a passage from the Facist Manifesto, replace any reference to "the state" with "the federal government", assing the reading to the students and don't tell them where it came from and see how the class responds in overwhelming support.
There's an economist who at the start of each semester gives students a passage written by Hitler, and a passage written by Thomas Jefferson, with the language updated to modern English, and with identifying location names removed and asks them to vote for which Presidential Candidate they support.
Hitler wins by a landslide every time.
I'd love to see that.
http://www.seizeliberty.com/essays/Vote.htm
Enjoy!
National socialists are always called Nazis because the leftwing academics and propagandists don't want to sully the good name of socialism.
Funny thing is that, if you have ever read any national socialist speeches or writings, they almost never refer to their movement as "Nazi". The Nazis called themselves "national socialists". They despised liberalism and capitalism, and sought to organize for a 1000-Year Reich complete with state control of land and capital for the benefit of the German proletariat and peasants.
The ongoing investigations into the screwups relating to the Healthcare.gov launch have put some Democrats in an uncomfortable position.
Meh. *Their* insurance covers chiropractic.
Half of their supporters are screaming about what a disaster this is and how it needs to be fixed. The other half are calling everyone who complains a racist who just wants Obama to fail. I wish them luck with that.
A failed Halloween prank
When will the Snowden documents reveal how much alt-text the NSA is stealing?!
So Rand Paul is going to Virginia to do a campaign rally for Cuccinelli. I guess these guys really are all the same.
Barf.
I'm just telling myself that he's campaigning against Terry MacAuliffe, so its okay, right?
He's going to have to do a lot of bad things, very dark things, if he wants to be president. Hanging out with this shitsucker is one of them. Focus on his actions, not the words he has to mouth to get the proudly ignorant on his side.
I just imagine Ron playing the part of the slave who whispers in his ear, "fool, thou art mortal" and feel better about Rand as President.
Yeah. I understand the politic necessity of the thing. One of the reasons I hate politics so very fucking much.
And I'm starting to think that Rand won't be the guy who finally brings me into "mainstream" politics.
Here is the thing, what is your number one issue, cutting spending and ending or at least controlling crony capitalism or various culture war stuff?
Whatever you think of Cuc, there is no question he is better on spending and such than Mcauliffe. He has to be, Mcauliffe is just that bad. So what is more important punishing the Republicans for nominating someone who hinted at making sodomy illegal or stopping Mcauliffe from turning Virginia into Maryland South?
I am not saying either one is better. I am just saying that is the choice.
I'm only really concerned to the extent that having to hang out with these assholes might hurt Rand. If Virginia can't come up with better candidates for governor than these two turds, that's on Virginia.
The media is going to paint Paul as "the crazy" no matter what. In some ways, he is better off if they try to paint him as some kind of SOCON nut. That charge is unlikely to stick and it will go a long ways to reassuring the GOP base that Paul is not his father.
Every story the media writes in 2016 about how Paul is some kind of crazy SOCON is one less story they will be writing about what a heartless evil bastard who wants to throw the poor into the street he is. I think the second charge, while equally untrue, is more likely to resonate with the low info middle. So I would rather have them calling him a SOCON, something even the low information middle is unlikely to believe.
The establishment GOP has to be placated. They could really fuck up his 2016 campaign. I think he's just letting them 'know' he'll stay on the reservation and be a good TEAM RED guy.
If he gets elected, then he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
But Cuc isn't establishment either. And nothing is going to placate the GOP establishment. They are going to go after Paul with everything they have and do it in very backhanded and dishonest ways.
Paul is going to get the full on Palin treatment and then some. He better be ready for it.
Yeah, you're right. I guess he's just trying to get Socon cred.
Whatever you think of Cuc, there is no question he is better on spending and such than Mcauliffe.
No way man. Showing appreciation and love for butt sex is the most important trait in any politician anywhere.
Well, it is what they want to do to all of us, so it's nice if you can get someone who will put a little thought into it.
You guys will be butthurt by Rand Paul too.
All pols are whores.
I don't think Rand is a whore. But he is a pol. And therein lies the problem.
"The trouble is, in a democracy the whores are us." -- PJ O'Rourke
I will admit that Rand is a mystery thus far.
So at this point a Governor MacAuliffe is a certainty. Can he deal and bribe the GOP House enough to get his tax increases, suffocate the burgeoning agri/aqua-culture and craft beer markets, and maybe seize a few guns along the way?
He might be able to get enough GOP house members to give him the medicaid expansion though. That's really it hough. I seem him doing nothing otherwise.
Well, nothing other than enriching himself and his cronies.
So, Reasonoids, figure I'd crowd source this one: I am embarking, in the month of November, on my first novel. Gonna do Nanowrimo. At some point, I'll need to pick some brains about how you self publish on Amazon, as I know one or two of you guys have done that. But for right now, I want to know where I can get good info on riding motorcycles, and info on what kind of bike someone in their mid to late 30s would find cool. I don't ride, which is just a well because I am comically uncoordinated, so any links or advice would be appreciated.
The sort of bike that a person would choose depends on their personality.
Does your guy like going on long scenic rides? Does he like to go fast?
Is he trying to show off or is it for his own personal pleasure?
Does he want to tinker on it himself or does he want others to fix it?
How much money does he have? How much free time does he have?
What's the environment he's riding in? The weather? Road conditions?
IS he going by himself or with a honey? Trailer or sidecar?
Long rides, this was his one big purchase, likes to tinker, no honey. Any ideas?
This might be relevant to your interests.
I am partial to Kawasakis myself. My dad rode one. Very dependable.
Oh, weather is American Southwest. Setting the story in Albuquerque a that's the city I'm most familiar with.
If he likes historic bikes, he might ride an Indian.
Short version on publishing in via Amazon/Kindle:
Create kdp account.
save finished book Word document as .html
Use Mobipocket creator. Import .html document, add bookcover. Export.
Create title, keywords, pricing, etc - bring in the .prc file created via Mobi.
24-48 hours later, your book is for sale on Amazon.
Depends on the kind of person they are. If they are "having a midlife crisis" want a bike, then definitely a Harley. If the person is a lifetime rider, then it could be virtually anything depending on what bike culture they gravitated too.
Some people are cruiser guys and that is what they like to do so they will ride Harleys, Victories, or any of the Japanese cruisers. A lot of that depends on how much money they have. You pay a premium for the Harley badge. If you don't have a lot of money or you are prudent, the Japanese cruisers are cheaper and built a hundred times better than Harleys so that is what you own.
Some people ride sport bikes. Again, every brand kind of has its cult. Some people want Kawasakis, some will only ride Ducatis and such.
There is also a whole adventure bike culture of BMWs and Aprillas and such.
In the end, it depends on his personality. But if the guy rides more than just very casually, he would have chosen the bike for a reason. His choice would definitely be thought out and say something about why he owns the bike.
Go to this forum. Great info and recommendations, also some awesome long posts on people riding around the world -- one couple rode mopeds around the world. Another one was some dudes from the UK (I think) riding across Russia into Kyrgyzstan.

Obama's FDA out there doing what it takes in increase suffering and raise healthcare costs.
I think that is pretty much the practice now, the docs are so paranoid. My wife had surgery last summer and I had to bring the original of the subscription to the pharmacy with her ID and mine to get it filled. They didn't just call it in. The docs are so paranoid about the DEA as it is.
I doubt the doctors will complain. They get paid for those visits.
My Hydro Rx (which I take occasionally when Tramadol isn't cutting it....severe osteo-arthritis) is no refill without Dr. auth, but it's all done electronically now through the new system that everyone had to go to due to HIPPA.
So Rand Paul is going to Virginia to do a campaign rally for Cuccinelli. I guess these guys really are all the same.

Reid: 'There's Not Going to Be a Grand Bargain'
Some pearls of wisdom from Harry:
Cool, so let them donate gifts to the treasury, just like they are allowed to do right now.
The Dem position is now
"People want to pay more taxes" and
"People hated their health insurance and are happy to see their policies cancelled or rewritten."
It is certainly a novel and bold set of talking points.
It's the "She asked for really rough sex" defense.
To be parroted without question by the majority of the media.
start the budgeting process so that we can do normal appropriation bills
The House has been passing normal appropriation bills. The Senate has never once voted on them.
But that's the Republicans fault for passing appropriation bills that aren't exactly what the Democrats want!
They can amend them to exactly what they want.
They can't do that cause the evil Republicans wouldn't pass them that way! That's why they can't do anything, it's all the Republicans fault for what they might do, and for not doing exactly what the Democrats want!
Of course rich people are willing to pay more taxes. How else can the politically connected rich steal from the rest of the rich?
"and start the budgeting process so that we can do normal appropriation bills.""
Oh, right. Harry has been really, really good about getting a budget out of the Senate....what?
I love how bad NBC's Bob Greenblat is at being a TV executive. He inherits the two snartest network shows on TV, Community and Parks and Rec (sidenote: why does everyone love a middling show like Modern Family? The Neoghbors was better written by the end of its first season and I didn't see that coming. So tired of hearing how "well written" Modern Family is) and HATES them. Instead, he keeps trying to either remind people of when NBC was king (Michael J Fox Show) or go broad (Whitney), a market cornered by CBS. And yet, every season, he keeps having to come crawling back to Dan Harmon and Michael Shur, while letting Fox poach the smart comedy title with stuff like New Girl.
One last thought: I wish SNL still had balls, because it would go after this Obamacare launch. Then again, they've never had to deal with a gentry liberal president. Clinton and Carter were both Dems who spoke with icky Southern accents. They may have struggled with going after. Cuomo had he won a well.
Same reason Hollywood keeps remaking movies or making movies out of old TV shows, it is the safe thing to do. Okaying something new takes guts.
And SNL desperately needs the Republicans to retake the White House. Being a propaganda machine for those in power always makes for poor comedy. How can you run a weekly comedy variety show that relies on current events and culture if the President is off limits?
The only Obamacare skit SNL has done this season cast Obama as a noble leader let down once again by his subjects.
This thing is so fucked up you and I could write a few funny skits about it. Actually professional comedy writers should be having a field day with it. Most of the jokes literally write themselves. It is so pathetic how ideological and cowardly they are. They are walking away from the chance to be relevant and funny again because they just don't want their friends to think they are racist. Amazing.
The joke was "I didn't explain the law well enough." When did SNL writer j
also start writing for the DNC?

The Drudge siren reports that various nations offended by NSA are protesting US surveillance at the United Nations.
Reminds me of this: "I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we [blah, blah, blah] restored our image as the last, best hope on earth." (Obama 2008)
I doubt that the image that most people actually hope for is a total surveillance state, but that's sure the image of America that Obama has created.
Of course, it's not only Obama's fault. Stansfield Turner (ex-CIA chief) wrote an article back in 1990 arguing that the role of US intelligence services in the post-Cold-War era is political and economic espionage against friendly competitor states.
If the NSA hadn't been spying on Americans, Snowden would have never been a celebrity and this story would not be nearly as widely reported if at all.

10 Senate Democrats now calling for mandate delay. I don't see how Obama can do that. If they delay the mandate they pretty much have to delay the entire law or face an insurance rate death spiral just in time for the midterms. So I guess we can let the Democratic civil war on this begin.
Meanwhile, all those Democratic Senators up for re-election next year are going to have to explain to their constituents why they are being fined for not having insurance they can't buy. And lets not forget that every single one of them voted last month to fund Obamcare and they were willing to shut down the government to get their way.
But remember, Ted Cruz and the House Republicans are embarrassing nuts who are destroying the Republican party and ended any chance the Republicans had of taking back the Senate by having the shut down.
God damn racists.
Traitors too.
10 Senate Dems means a majority in both houses would vote for a delay, right?
If the Republicans didn't get cynical and say "fuck you live with it", yes. But 10 Senate Dems doesn't get you to 60 votes. So Reid could keep it from ever coming to a vote in the Senate.
The shutdown is turning out to be a brilliant strategic move, although probably by accident. If the shutdown had never happened, the Congressional Dems up for reelection could have pled ignorance. They could have claimed, of course we wanted to delay this thing but the damned Obama insisted on it going forward and never told us how bad it was. Thanks to the shutdown, they all had to vote and stand up on TV and tell the world how we needed Obamacare now. And better still, since they can't help themselves and always resort to over the top rhetoric, they called the Republicans terrorists and hostage takers for even suggesting that Obamacare be delayed. And all of that happened just a week before this disaster started to unfold. That is so close in time even the lowest information voter will see the connection.
Under Emperor Obama I, nobody in Congress needs to vote on a delay.
I mean, he's already fucking delayed OCare mandates twice, unilaterally, no Congress required.
Even better. Absent the shutdown, Obama could have unilaterally delayed the mandates and the Senate Dems would have never had to take a stand one way or another. Thanks to the shutdown, they had to get involved and take responsibility. That is not a good role for them.
Remember when the Republicans were branded as traitors and obstructionists for trying to delay the mandate? Before long the media will brand them as traitors and obstructionists for refusing to delay the mandate.
Watching this shit sandwich completely blow up in the faces of the democrat/media complex is going to be one of the most epic things ever. Couldn't happen to a more loathsome group of shitheads.
Yup. And it being so close in time to the shutdown and the giant stream of bullshit they put out over that is just priceless. Usually they have to eat their bullshit months or years later and thus can do so without all but the few who pay attention noticing. This time they have to do it on national TV less than a month later. It is just fucking priceless.
And it is going to get even yummier when enrollment periods start for the upcoming year. The howling by the public and subsequent squirming by the Dumbocrat Progtards is going to be delicious. Yummy and sweet.
Twerking has been banned at a Maryland high school's homecoming. Students and parents have had to sign a "dance contract" which says that students will be booted from the event if they twerk.
Sounds like a good opportunity for a coordinated protest twerk. Make them send everyone home.
