Maryland School Demands No Twerking at Dances

Asks students to sign a contract

It has been called the "twerk" seen around the world.

Anne Arundel County principals just hope the suggestive dance isn't seen at their homecomings.

Months after pop singer Miley Cyrus shared her sexual grooves with TV viewers, county principals are strengthening existing prohibitions against grinding, freaking — and twerking, the bent-over, butt-bouncing dance made infamous by Cyrus.

Twerking is banned at South River High School's homecoming on Nov. 2, according to a dance contract.

South River students and parents must both sign a contract warning that dirty dancers will be booted from the floor.
