Reported Obamacare Enrollee Chad Henderson Tells Washington Post: "I have not purchased a specific plan."

The Washington Post's Sarah Kliff spoke to Chad Henderson this afternoon, following up on my story from earlier today, in which his father said that the two had not enrolled yet. Here's what Chad said:
Sarah Kliff: So your dad says you haven't purchased health insurance.
Chad Henderson: Here's my response. Most reporters, I'm not calling anyone out especially you, they haven't had access to the web site. They weren't very clear as to how the process went. Most people have no understanding that it's a two step process. One is you fill out an application. It sends you a notification received successfully.
The next step is comparing the prices, comparing all the plans. And that's when you purchase the plan. I said I enrolled in the marketplace. I never said I chose a specific plan. But the number I gave you, the $175 or $200 or whatever, that is the plan I am choosing. My dad is choosing a different plan. So, enrollment meant that my application was sent and approved. That's what I meant by enrollment. I have not purchased a specific plan. That's what's confusing people.
My dad was right. I have chosen mine. He hasn't chosen his yet.
Sarah Kliff: So let me make sure I understand things right here. You went through the part of the website where you entered in your information and found out what you qualified for, and that's done. And you got to the part where you can compare plans, but you have not purchased a plan?
Chad Henderson: We have not purchased a specific. The application has information and once you submit it, it reviews eligibility. Obviously I'm not eligible for Medicaid because our governor isn't expanding it. And that's what I meant by enrollment. I had assumed that I never said I purchased a plan or enrolled in marketplace. I'm not backing down on my comments. I have not misled anyone.
So Chad claims he has "chosen" a plan, but has not purchased a plan. And he now says that his father "hasn't chosen his yet."

Alt text: "It depends on what the meaning of 'enrollment' is."
"Never trust a Daywalker"
Already addressed earlier. It involves Tosche station and some power converters.
Hype exceeds reality.
News at 11.
(Assuming IE lets me see the page this time.)
If true it sounds like he got farther along in the attempt than most people, so I suppose that would still be heroic in the eyes of Obamacare enthusiasts.
He found out it cost $175, or $200, or something like that.
Never thought I would see a middle class kid pine, 'if only I could enroll in Medicaid. Living the DREAM, man!'
Mean ol' Republican governor wont expand the best program ever created evah.
"Obviously I'm not eligible for Medicaid because our governor isn't expanding it. And that's what I meant by enrollment. I had assumed that I never said I purchased a plan or enrolled in marketplace. I'm not backing down on my comments. I have not misled anyone."
I defy anyone to explain exactly what that statement means.
Whatever else you want to say about this kid, he has a future in Washington as a White House Press Secretary.
Jay Carney couldn't have twisted that around any better. He sounds better than Bill Clinton telling us that it depends on what the meaning of "is" is.
...all that detail, and I still don't know what the kid is saying!
Don't feel bad. Neither does he.
"Obviously I'm not eligible for Medicaid because our governor isn't expanding it. And that's what I meant by enrollment."
Say what?!
"I had assumed that I never said I purchased a plan or enrolled in marketplace."
Huh?!
He should be sellin' used cars.
Scary thought: what if this sort of twisted thinking is required to enroll in the health exchanges.
Survival of the morally unfittest -- sounds like a system worked out on the back of an envelope by Cass Sustain.
English motherfucker! Do you speak it?
How do you assume that you never said something? You either said it, or you didn't say it.
Your governor isn't expanding Medicaid, and that's what you mean by "enrollment"?
WTF?!
My governor is signing a law to let illegal aliens drive legally--and that's what I mean by "twerking"!
Obviously I couldn't get the phone I wanted, because my carrier wasn't providing it. And that's what I meant by coverage.
He's an Obamaton. Words mean precisely what he wants them to mean, nothing more, nothing less.
I can make a little more sense of it by putting a period between "I had assumed that" and "I never said I purchased ..."
But it's such a jumbled string of phrases, that its only purpose is to mislead.
I have not misled anyone.
Oh, now I believe him.
He's still a HERO?
Has he shot anyone's dog, yet?
He's still a HERO?
Team Blue will spin it that way.
I submitted my private information to a website. I HEREBY DECLARE OBAMACARE SUCCESS.
Chad Henderson will hereby be referred to as 'Chad the Liar'. Regardless of what he 'believes' he deserves that title and all the scorn it brings.
I knew that ObamaCare would fail, but so spectacularly and right out of the gate? With the shutdown and the ObamaCare woes, it's like libertarian Christmas in here!
Also, am I the only one who finds it pathetic that a healthy 20-something working part-time and living with his dad is supposed to be the poster child for ObamaCare's success?
Except we're the ones buying all the presents.
well, at least they are shitty presents.
What can I say? Libertarian Santa's a hardass.
Merry Christmas! I'm bringing eggnog!
This really has been an amazing week. Government is shutdown, and tons have signed up for Obamacare! You just can't see them. So many have signed up for Obamacare that they have to get OFA volunteers to lie about it!
After much thought, research and late night reconnaissance, I have "chosen" the woman to be my wife and life partner.
I haven't closed the deal, so to say, and she's playing the tease with me, but I will prevail.
Congrats! When are you finally going to meet her?
Once you tell her your name, phone number, and SSN you can just consider that you and her are enrolled in marriage together.
Baaahahahahaha....what a deceitful, bama-bangs wearing pile of shit this kid is. In other words, the typical OFA volunteer. And there are hordes of these lying-ass little bitches being churned out by colleges and universities? Wonderful. Time to start getting serious about moving to fucking Belize.
That didn't work out so well for John McAfee. Just saying.
Let's see if he has any second thoughts about spending $175 a month for a health insurance plan.
I think you should check back every month or so and make sure he still has it.
As I have been shouting to anyone who will listen on Twitter, which is no one, this kid's obfuscations aren't even true. He clearly told a reporter at the Chattanooga newspaper that he had a plan:
'
Source.
He also clearly endorsed a misrepresentation of his own status:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BVibKL0IgAA2TB7.jpg
"But the number I gave you, the $175 or $200 or whatever, that is the plan I am choosing."
He enrolled, but he doesn't really know how much it costs.
Not really.
So I've tried signing on to HealthCare.gov about 25 times with no success. I have finally had limited success in getting the Chat popup to work this time. However, it just keeps refreshing over and over agin with the same message:
"Please be patient while we're helping other people."
I suspect that's pretty much the same message that a 60-year-old will get a few years from now when he goes to an emergency room complaining about severe chest pain.
""I'm not backing down on my comments. I have not misled anyone.""

Somehow this type of phrase works like a Jedi Mind Trick on progressive Bamaphiles... you simply disown any interpretation of your words that is inconsistent with the present requirements. When i said, "spontaneous demonstration" naturally that includes the possibility of "coordinated terrorist attack"... duh!? why would you assume otherwise, you hating hater who tries to use "facts" and "reason" and other Right Wing Oppression to force people to have a Single Reality. Its so paleo-linguistic and patriarchical... you wouldnt even understand, youre so unsophisticated.
Derrida FTW!!
