More Cases Linked to Mass. Drug Lab Scandal
Tests of as many as 40,000 defendants tainted
A lawyer appointed by the Massachusetts governor to review prosecutions connected to a state lab scandal found that the drug cases of more than 40,000 defendants may have been tainted.
David Meier led a file-by-file review of narcotics cases in which former state chemist Annie Dookhan tested samples. He says he will be meeting with prosecutors, defense lawyers and judges to discuss how to best use the findings.
