Police Chief Indicted Over Fatal Shooting
Investigators aren't releasing details
Former Eutawville Police Chief Richard Combs has been indicted on a charge of misconduct in office in connection with the shooting death of Bernard Bailey.
First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe confirmed the grand jury's indictment Wednesday.
Investigators said the 54-year-old Bailey was shot and killed during a May 2, 2011 confrontation with Combs.
Details of the shooting have been a closely guarded secret. The U.S. Attorney's Office and the FBI stepped in after the incident and information was shut off.
