FL Cop Under Fire for Slugging Mentally Ill Girl
Tough guy
TALLAHASSEE – In what could only be described as brutal, a Pembroke Pines police officer punched a 14-year old mentally ill patient in the face while breaking up a fight at the Citrus Center for Adolescent Treatment Service earlier this year.
A surveillance video capturing the incident surfaced on last week, and appears to show the officer reacting to a punch thrown by the girl.
Gordon H. Weekes Jr., a Broward County public defender, wants the Florida Department of Children and Families to conduct a full investigation.
