Former Illinois Cop Previously Accused of Brutality Suing for Anti-Mexican Discrimination, Wants Job Back

A former Des Plaines police officer — a man who was previously accused of using excessive force and who is fighting to return to the department — has filed a federal lawsuit against the city claiming a superior harassed and discriminated against him based on his Mexican heritage.
The suit, filed in late July by John Bueno, alleges that his commanding officer repeatedly made "offensive racial slurs and anti-Hispanic comments" toward Bueno.
