Ronald Bailey on Glenn Beck Talking About Fracking and Climate Change

The graphic above depicts the global lower troposphere temperature projections from 73 CMIP5 models from 1979 to 2025 compared to an average of the satellite data from UAH and RSS (blue boxes) and weather balloons (green circles) for the global lower troposphere temperatures since 1979 until now. Note nearly all the model runs project much warmer temperatures than the globe has recently experienced. The thick black line is the average projection of the 73 models.

I've squinted at this mini graph before... I'd like to know which one of those projections was closest to reality (looks like 1 or 2 are actually pretty close).

Everyone KNOWS the last 15 years have been an anomaly. 15 years out of 35 is statistically insignificant and warming will surely resume IOW the models. After all, the science IS settled.

I haven't done enough research on this to agree or disagree with PBP's argument. However, I remember hearing a CATO brief a few months back which essentially agreed with the idea that Obama has been a lot more "Mr. Oil and Gas" in reality than his rhetoric would suggest.
