  • 343,000 people applied for unemployment benefits for the first time last week, down from 348,000 the week before.
  • Bolivia's president is outraged his jet was diverted in Europe and searched on suspicion that Edward Snowden was on it. The Europeans all want to impress their big brother across the pond.

Samuel T. Wilkinson: Pot-Smoking And the Schizophrenia Connection
Medical research shows a clear link between marijuana use and mental illness.
    http://online.wsj.com/article/…..on_LEADTop

Recent legislation has permitted the recreational use of marijuana in Colorado and Washington state. Those who support legalization often tout the lack of serious medical consequences associated with the drug. Most of us know people who used marijuana in high school or college and seem to have suffered no significant medical consequences. As the medical and scientific literature continues to accumulate, however, it is becoming clearer that the claim that marijuana is medically harmless is false.

There is a significant and consistent relationship between marijuana use and the development of schizophrenia and related disorders. Schizophrenia is considered by psychiatrists to be the most devastating of mental illnesses. Patients who suffer from it often experience auditory or visual hallucinations, severe social withdrawal and cognitive impairment. Many require frequent and prolonged hospitalization in psychiatric wards.

Police arrest man after fight over seat saving at LDS church
    http://fox13now.com/2013/07/01…..ds-church/

“There was some seats that were allegedly saved, and there was a disagreement over whether they were saved or not and an individual sitting there,” Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lowther told FOX 13. “This continued to escalate throughout the day.”

The argument continued outside to the parking lot, Lowther said, where punches were thrown. One man went inside to clean himself up and returned and was then struck by a car, Lowther told FOX 13.

“He ended up on the hood of the car,” he said. “We did an investigation, there was conflicting stories (between the two men), but according to witness accounts there was enough probable cause to make an arrest for aggravated assault.”

    1. Ted S.   12 years ago

There was some seats that were allegedly saved, and there was a disagreement over whether they were saved or not

I’d rather those seats burn in hell for eternity.

      1. Fluffy   12 years ago

Luckily, since they’re Mormon seats, even after they’ve been removed and sent to the dump, there’s a special ceremony where they can be saved after the fact.

Just wait until they divert Air Force One in search of spies and war criminals.

    4. Agammamon   12 years ago

You know this is what I don’t get about governments – Snowden has been committed of committing a non-violent crime in the US (and only the US).

Why, absent a pretty compelling presentation of evidence to a duly appointed judicial reviewer, would any other country even want to bother trying to apprehend the guy? Its not like *we’re* going to appreciate it.

Personally, I’d stay out of it – America its your mess, you deal with it.

      1. Fist of Etiquette   12 years ago

And you’re that rare country that doesn’t enjoy U.S. tax dollars shoveled your way.

          Feels bad, man.

      2. Tonio   12 years ago

Snowden has been committed of committing a non-violent crime in the US (and only the US)

Not sure whether you meant accused or convicted. He’s been accused, I believe he’s been formerly charged. His case hasn’t been to trial (at least not in a non-secret court).

Extradition treaties require that accused people like Snowden be turned over to the country doing the accusing. IANAL, and some restrictions apply.

        1. Eduard van Haalen   12 years ago

There’s usually an exception for nonviolent political offenses. That should tie up the case in litigation for a while. If he’s caught.

          1. Tonio   12 years ago

Yes, but this incident wasn’t part of a legal extradition procedure; it was a blatant snatch attempt.

            1. mad libertarian guy   12 years ago

Yes, but this incident wasn’t part of a legal extradition procedure; it was a blatant snatch attempt.

              This.

It was the long arm of US influence, getting other countries to do our dirty work. Were I the Bolivian president, I would sue the fuck out of Austria (or wherever the fuck).

              1. Tonio   12 years ago

If I were the Bolivian prez, I’d make sure that the Austrian (or whichever) ambassador to my country spent the night in jail on trumped-up charges.

                1. Brett L   12 years ago

^This. Oh, you like diplomatic immunity, now?

                  1. Tonio   12 years ago

No, I don’t like diplomatic immunity since it ultimately privileges some individuals above others.

But having said that – treaty obligations, rule of law, SLDs, yadda yadda.

                    1. RickC   12 years ago

Gonna go out on a limb here but I think BL was directing that at Austria.

                    2. Tonio   12 years ago

                      I wasn’t sure.

                2. Rrabbit   12 years ago

If I were the Bolivian President, I’d offer Snowden asylum. And not just Snowden.

        2. Cdr Lytton   12 years ago

Doesn’t the accusing country need to formally make an extradition request first? Is it normal for a country to detain someone before such a request is made if no local laws were broken?

Speaking of extradition, maybe Snowden could shack up with ole Roman Polanski? No? Bringing egregious constitutional violations is evil but drugging and ass raping a minor is A-Ok?

          1. Tonio   12 years ago

Again, this wasn’t anything resembling an attempt to extradite through normal channels. It was a blatant search, and almost certainly a treaty violation. As some guy pointed out, wars have been started over things like this.

Further proof that the biggest bully of them all is government.

      1. PS   12 years ago

Which is ironic because Morales is a Marxist.

The worst enemy of humanity is capitalism. That is what provokes uprisings like our own, a rebellion against a system, against a neo-liberal model, which is the representation of a savage capitalism. If the entire world doesn’t acknowledge this reality, that the national states are not providing even minimally for health, education and nourishment, then each day the most fundamental human rights are being violated.

    American Exceptionalism at work!

    1. DJF   12 years ago

      So where can Snowden go?

It looks like getting to Central or South America will be very difficult

Africa is out since I doubt if they will be willing to pay the price in US displeasure

Asia is mostly out, North Korea and Iran might take him in just to piss off the US and North Korea does border Russia so there is no problem getting there while there is no US ally between Russia and Iran

Europe is mostly out since they won’t stand up to the US and even if let in there will be long court fights which Snowden might lose

Belarus is a possibility if Russia does not want to keep him. Belarus is already on the US enemy list and might do it as a favor to Russia.

Ukraine is too split between Russian and US supporters.

The Stan’s would sell him to the highest bidder

China probably does not want him because it might remind the Chinese on how much the Chinese government spies on them.

      1. jester   12 years ago

He will probably have to charter a plane which could prove tricky. My guess is that a fake mechanical will force it to land in the US where he will be apprehended. I don’t think the Obama Admin has the huevos to shoot it out of the sky.
Anyway, I don’t think he’ll have trouble finding donors to fund his flight.

        1. Tonio   12 years ago

No, he’d be an idiot to fly over or even near US airspace.

He’s also going to have to avoid the airspace of any country which is overly friendly with the US.

And he has to worry about the crew of any chartered aircraft being compromised by US agencies.

      2. Loki   12 years ago

Whatever ends up happening to him I think it’s a safe bet that things won’t end well for him. At some point the intelligence agencies might decide they’re sick of playing around and he’ll fall victim to some unfortunate “accident.”

        1. Tonio   12 years ago

^This. Except they will wait for a decade or so before doing that so it’s not so obvious, and people have mostly forgotten who he was. See: Trotsky, Leon.

        2. Rasilio   12 years ago

There is no chance that he gets assassinated by the US anytime soon, the media and political backlash against Obama would be just too huge.

I could see them doing it quietly in a few years as a message to any other potential “leakers”, but it is just as likely that once his data dumps are done they’ll leave him alone as not worth the effort.

There is also the possibility he’s created a deadmans switch to protect himself, basically given data so sensitive that even he wouldn’t normally release it to a trusted group who would release it in the event of his death

          1. mad libertarian guy   12 years ago

There is also the possibility he’s created a deadmans switch to protect himself, basically given data so sensitive that even he wouldn’t normally release it to a trusted group who would release it in the event of his death[.]

Something is up. The government clearly fears whatever it is that Snowden still has. Had he dumped everything, there wouldn’t be the manhunt theater we see all around the world. When Diplomatic Immunity is suspended like this, shit is real. He has a card he hasn’t played, and the government is doing everything they can to keep him from spilling the beans.

Wonkbook: Is this the laziest Congress ever?
    http://socialreader.com/me/con….._p=article

Six months into its term, there’s little evidence that the 113th Congress will be the worst Congress ever. But they might be the laziest.

On Monday, simply by doing nothing, they allowed the interest rate on student loans to double, from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent. That might be permissible if they were busy with more important things, like inventing a cure for cancer that’s also a source of endless clean energy. But they’re not even working this week.

The 112th Congress passed 220 laws. That’s the fewest of any Congress since we began keeping track in 1948. But the 113th Congress is on track to pass even fewer laws than that. “Just 15 bills have become law this year, compared to 23 over the same period in 2011,” writes Dashiel Bennett at the Atlantic Wire. It’s the do-nothingest Congress ever!

    and the problem is?

    1. some guy   12 years ago

If by “laziest” he means “best. This is why I always pull for gridlock after watching my preferred candidates pull < 5% of the vote. Gridlock is the only hope we have left.

Curtis Kile, 52, said he left his Taylor home June 14 on a mission to steer his motorized wheelchair to the White House for a chat with President Barack Obama about nationwide legalization of marijuana, a drug he said has been instrumental in his treatment, the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.

Wendy Davis Offers a Warning for Democrats
    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/…..crats.html

This time, Republicans actually have a response: legislation that highlights how pro-choice Democrats are out of step with the public. Most Americans think abortion should be legal in cases of rape, but they also think it should be illegal in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The Gallup Organization has never found more than 27 percent of the public supporting legal second-trimester abortion.

The last time Republicans fought a national election when specific pro-life legislation was at issue was in 2004. Republicans had passed a popular ban on partial-birth abortion. Most Democrats opposed it, but had a hard time justifying their stance. After losing the election, many Democrats — including their presidential candidate, John Kerry — said the perception that they were extreme on abortion had contributed to their defeat.

Did you know that the Voting Rights decisions doesn’t allow blacks or Latinos to vote?

What does this have to do with gay rights? Well, nothing explicitly. The cruel juxtaposition of the two decisions is what’s most startling. We may call it progress when one historically oppressed group gains unprecedented rights, but what do we call it when another group simultaneously loses theirs after decades of brutal struggle? Furthermore, how do we begin to understand the total cognitive dissonance that begins to settle in when we realize that these groups are not mutually exclusive? There are now Black and Latino voters in “our community” who are not voters anymore. Their marriages may be recognized in the eyes of the state (if they are married under very specific circumstances), but suddenly their votes are not.

The idea seems to be to divide and conquer. Oppressed groups can’t gain true power in this country without each other. They may be placated with wins throughout history, but as we’ve just been shown, these wins can be taken back at any time, given the right context, political climate, and national culture that is taking place at any given historical moment.

    Butch doesn’t get masculinity

How do we, as butches, form a healthier community, one that reaches out rather than puts up walls? I know and understand why those walls are there. The queer community has to be insular for its own protection, and we’re a bunch that has learned defense mechanisms the hard way. But butchness doesn’t just arise from queerness. It’s also directly influenced by hegemonic masculinity, and patriarchal notions of manhood, and what it means to share and bond and connect when these expectations for expression are in place. I’m not saying we need to wake up tomorrow and stand in a circle together and kumbuya this into existence. I’m saying that instead of expecting the worse from our fellow butches, we need to see the best. We need to support and accept, instead of attempting to one-up and establish superiority. There are many kinds of butches, and they’re all equally important and equally welcome to our community. Let’s make sure we all have a place at the table. We can be hard motherfuckers who kick the ass of the world that tries to beat us down, but we should still be able to smile at our fellow butch, and let them know we see them as friends, siblings, and fellows in the struggle.

    1. AuH20   12 years ago

I revisited that emotion when I came out as butch. Sometimes it feels like my inability to feel at home in the butch community and make butch friends has something to do with my inability to make guy friends, too. When masculinity is the dominant trait that ties a group together, it’s a very different kind of bonding experience. I’m used to the secretiveness of girlhood, the connections that are formed from whispering and huddling together in the dark and sharing hidden things that society has told us not to display. In a butch social group, it feels like I’m meant to be putting everything on display, from my sexual prowess to my good hair. We’re either peacocking together or we’re sizing each other up, or both. And when we can’t find a greater cause to identify with, we resort to shitty practices like misogyny and shoving our swagger around. Masculinity isn’t about forming community without pushing someone out of that community, so it’s not that much of a surprise that access to that community doesn’t always feel natural or okay.

      1. Brett L   12 years ago

Wait, even butch women act like women and have a pecking order? Noooo.

        1. wareagle   12 years ago

          1. AuH20   12 years ago

Well, she invokes misogyny throughout the piece, so the answer is… yes.

      2. mad libertarian guy   12 years ago

We need to support and accept, instead of attempting to one-up and establish superiority. There are many kinds of butches, and they’re all equally important and equally welcome to our community.

The first sentence dictates that the second is not possible. The cognitive dissonance from one sentence to the next is staggering. How can someone be so intellectually blind.

        1. Loki   12 years ago

How can someone be so intellectually blind.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and predict that she went to public schools for K-12 and majored in Gender Studies or Queer Studies or something eually ridiculous at the School for the Permanently Aggrieved. That’s how.

        2. AuH20   12 years ago

Okay, maybe I’m missing something, and her piece is all kinds of dumb, but how does the first sentence negate the second? To my way of thinking, she’s just being a kumbaya type who wants everyone to get along.

In a piece that she explicitly says she isn’t a kumbaya type. I mean, it’s stupid, but I just ain’t seeing it in the parts you highlighted.

          1. mad libertarian guy   12 years ago

Okay, maybe I’m missing something, and her piece is all kinds of dumb, but how does the first sentence negate the second?

If everyone is setting up a hierarchy, it cannot be possible that everyone is “equally important and equally welcome to our community.”

Yeah, that’s why I posted this. She writes these long screeds about being a “masculine of center” queer, but she also clearly doesn’t know shit about masculinity. It ain’t bow ties and butch haircuts and binding your boobs- which any man could happily explain to her, but she hates men.

          1. SugarFree   12 years ago

Proposition: If you have to think about being masculine, there is little chance you ever will be.

      My question is:

Where’s all this “world trying to beat us down” stuff taking place?

Not a lot of literal gay bashing going on any more. Not in the US.

Putting your picture up on peopleofwalmart so that we can laugh at it is not really the world trying to beat you down.

Butches are mainly just invisible to me. I only notice them if the femme is really hot, and that’s only in passing, as in: “Wow, that chick is really hot…(sees butch)…ANNNNNNNNND she’s gay.” (Moves on to pay attention to other stuff and forgets about butch in milliseconds.)

        2. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Wait, what about the Declaration of Independence, which is basically a legal brief outlining the justification for secession? As a basic right of people?

Regardless of the motivation, the right to secede is absolutely necessary to any concept of libertarianism, even the minarchist view. Otherwise, the government owns us. The South’s motives were impure, but the right to secede was an important barrier to federal tyranny.

        3. Brett L   12 years ago

What if we agree that the seccession question was settled by right-of-conquest in 1865, regardless of the previous Constitutional understanding?

          1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

That’s some bullshit, Brett. If that works, then we’ve been conquered by the federal government since then. Please submit.

            1. Brett L   12 years ago

Someone, not mentioning any names, suspended habeas corpus without creating a Constitutional crisis. So, yeah, the Constitution has been mostly dead since then, and probably completely dead since sometime between the 17th and 22nd Amendment.

              1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

It’s not totally dead, but it has endured many, many wounds. The problem isn’t the Constitution so much as the weak, weak people that have inherited it.

Our predecessors were hugely flawed, but at least they weren’t total sheep.

                1. VG Zaytsev   12 years ago

                  It’s not totally dead…

Sure it is. It was killed by FDR and SCOTUS in the 40s.

A government that claims the power to tell a farmer what to grow and send it’s citizens to concentration camps is not limited in any way.

Separate of powers is dead when said government has unelected bureaucrats writing regs with the force of law, and then has the same agency enforce those rules and adjudicate disputes of them.

Federalism is dead when the central government has the power to harmonize the laws of the states and dictate laws that the states must enact.

            1. Floridian   12 years ago

I think the invention of the cotton gin was putting the squeeze on the value of slavery. I’m not sure slave owners were trying to be evil, I think it was the cheapest way to do business at the time. Slavery probably would still have existed for sometime for house servants and the like though, so hard to know how long slavery would have continued. The civil war definitely helped end the evil of slavery sooner.

If Obama is not a fascist, why is he actively supporting fascist regimes in Turkey and Egypt. It would be one thing if he just did his best to deal with a Muslim Brotherhood takeover that happened on its own. But he seems to have actively supported the MB and wants them to be in power. Obama seems to actively support and want more anti-American and overtly fascist authoritarian regimes in the world.

And I guess his concern for gays ends at the water line. Turkish and Egyptian gays are not real gays.

He saw it as blatant bullshit, but still voted for him any ways asking “what choice do I have?”

so my wife, who drives like an old grandman, got two tickets in the past two months. One was for turning right on a red light (at a “do not turn on red”) sign. Yesterday it was a “rolling” stop through a stop-sign, with no other visible traffic around. She sez she “stopped” but not a dead stop.

Me? I mostly drive like a maniac but haven’t gotten a ticket for over ten years.

She’s a bit absent-minded when she drives, not quite paying attention to the surroundings beyond what she sees in front of her… but I’m beginning to think the car – a 2-door Honda Accord – is somehow a cop magnet.

This might have something to do with it. ‘Not a dead stop’, as in how many MPH?

      1. Lord Humungus   12 years ago

who knows… she said the truck in front of her stopped completely. So did she (still behind). When the truck went through the intersection, she did the quick “stop” ‘n’ go. The cop car, who I have seen before on this intersection, was some 70 feet away, watching for this sort of thing.

        1. Loki   12 years ago

I got pulled over for something similar at 11:00 at night in a small do-nothing town where the only other person on the road was the cop. The cop wasn’t even that close to the intersection. I saw his headlight about a block and a half down the sidestreet. I couldn’t even tell it was a cop car because he was so far away.

Fucker had to have floored it in order to catch up to me as fast as he did. Luckily for me, I had the common sense not to point that fact out to him, so all I got was a ticket instead of a beatdown.

    Romney was just misunderstood:

Romney opened up to Balz about his conservative stance on immigration during the campaign, and his use of the term “self-deportation,” which Democrats slammed repeatedly. Romney said he did not anticipate the blowback he would face.

“I thought of it as being a term that is used in the community of those discussing immigration,” Romney told Balz in January. “I hadn’t seen it as being a negative term.” He later added: “You have two options of dealing with those that have come here illegally: deportation or self-deportation. The president has deported more I think in four years than President Bush did in eight years. So the president was using a deportation method. The view of others is, no, let people make their own choice. ? So I was looking for a more, if you will, compassionate approach, which is let people make their own choice, as opposed to deporting people.”

Romney also reflected on his “47 percent” comment, which he said he didn’t initially think would become a major focus. He said the perception that his remarks suggested he didn’t care about many Americans was incorrect.

    1. benji   12 years ago

And wanted to quit because of the lies spread by places like TREASON:

Then in the exploratory committee phase of his campaign, Romney was preparing on a May morning to deliver a speech in Michigan to defend the health care plan he signed into law as governor of Massachusetts and attack President Obama’s federal health care measure. The Wall Street Journal released a scathing op-ed that same day slamming the Republican over his Massachusetts plan.

Romney’s eldest son Tagg got a message from his father early that morning, he told Balz. “I’m going to tell them I’m out,” Tagg Romney recalled his father telling him. “He said there’s no path to win the nomination.”

Romney confirmed after the election that he called his son one morning to tell him he thought he wasn’t going to run. “I recognized that by virtue of the realities of my circumstances, there were some drawbacks to my candidacy for a lot of Republican voters,” he told Balz in January. “One, because I had a health care plan in Massachusetts that had been copied in some respects by the president, that I would be tainted by that feature. I also realized that being a person of wealth, I would be pilloried by the president as someone who, if you use the term of the day, was in the 1 percent.”

Tulpa has explained multiple times how TReason caused the re-election of Obama because of their endless lies about RomneyCare being copied by ObamaCare.

Right, because Reason magazine is such a powerhouse in influencing so many people’s political opinions. I mean, everywhere you go, there’s a copy of reaon magazine. So many people read it, it’s literally able to influence national elections.

Pffft, whatever. Also, you may not want to rely too heavily on the rambling of Tulpa for your “proof” of… well, pretty much anything.

I’m thinking that comment might have been a bit sarcastic. Hard to tell sometimes. There are a lot of weirdos out there.

His rational analysis told him not to run, that he couldn’t win.

But his ego told him that he was indispensable.

    2. VG Zaytsev   12 years ago

      Romney was just misunderstood:

IOW a clueless, out of touch, douchebag that never should have run.

      1. mad libertarian guy   12 years ago

It wasn’t Romney who was misunderstood, but the one doing most of the misunderstanding.

    3. Loki   12 years ago

Why the fuck didn’t he just say that, oh I don’t know, during the campaign? Incompetant fucktard deserved to lose.

Shin-Soo Choo is getting hit by pitches at a historic rate

Mostly just cuz he has a great name.

    1. The DerpRider   12 years ago

In HS, catholic league in Detroit played double headers, so we used a 3-2 count instead of 4-3. If I got a first pitch strike I would step into the next pitch. I was plunked 24 times my senior year.

      1. AuH20   12 years ago

Dang. How many games did you play?

        1. The DerpRider   12 years ago

35-40 regular season if I recall.

  50. The Late P Brooks   12 years ago

Speaking of the “Do Nothing Congress” meme, I wonder how the comparative historical legislative records compare in terms of pages of legislation excreted.

    1. Matrix   12 years ago

Maybe we should make that that Congress cannot draft a bill unless it is done so written by hand on parchment. This should rapidly reduce page length and the amount of bills put forth.

One of my friends used to say “I just wish Congress would simply spend their time working on the budget, pass it, and then go home for the rest of the year”.

One can dream… one can dream…

Also, they should incorporate a Droned square.

In the game Puerto Rico, “colonists” are represented by brown discs that arrive via ship and that you immediately put to work on your plantation.

      Yeah, colonists.

  52. The Late P Brooks   12 years ago

And the police should occasionally shoot you, your spouse, or one or more of your children.

That would be a good “Chance”(?) card for Monopoly.

Your child was shot and killed in a wrong door “dynamic entry raid” while away at college. The city settles the lawsuit for 7.2 million dollars while admitting no guilt. Roll again.”

Urban Meyer, who doesn’t realize that karma is a bitch.

    1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

What a dick. It’s funny, but for a guy who won two national titles, there’s just not much love for him. Spurrier left and is coaching a team in the same division of the same conference, and he’s still revered at UF.

I didn’t realize fully how corrupt Meyer was back when he was with the Gators, but I did hate his offensive scheme. The national titles were far more attributable to the monster defenses they had then, thanks in part to Charlie Strong.

      1. Brett L   12 years ago

I think Sloopy is going to spend a lot of time crying himself to sleep on Saturday nights, even with the Big 10 as weak as it is.

        1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

I do think last season was very illusory, given OSU’s weak performances against some shit teams, but they’re at least somewhat better than most of the rest of the conference.

          1. Brett L   12 years ago

But Urban is also out of super-athelete quarterbacks recruited by his predecessor. He seems to have trouble when that happens.

            1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Yeah, that, too, though the first national title was under Chris Leak, not Tebow. Again, both times were about defense. The D-line we had thrashed OSU on a biblical level.

I love good defense, don’t get me wrong. In fact, it’s my big problem with the pro game–defense is total shit these days. But Meyer didn’t bring or create that.

My favorite coaching situation at UF was the Spurrier/Stoops combo. Great offense, great defense. Works for me.

        2. Citizen Nothing   12 years ago

Ok, smart guys. Where’s the loss on this year’s OSU schedule? (Outside the national title game to an SEC team to be determined, of course.)

          1. Brett L   12 years ago

            Michigan.

            1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

I heard they’re going up against App State again. Bets?

              1. Brett L   12 years ago

Even better, they’re playing FAMU. No, really, OSU is going to play the 3rd best football team in Tallahassee. The only thing more embarrassing is FSU’s tough opening schedule of Pitt, Nevada, and Bethune-Cookman.

          2. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

I think it’ll be mostly wins, but OSU came close to dropping games against total shit opponents last year. I doubt there’s going to be a great leap, and playing that way is a sure path to failure at some point. And, of course, if they do have a great run, some SEC team will humiliate them again.

The current Ohio State reminds me of Wisconsin, historically, which would look really threatening, then lose some ridiculous game.

I miss the old days, when the conferences were more settled and the quality was better. The game seems diluted somehow, with just a few teams, mostly in the southeast, getting the lion’s share of recruits.

    2. Mike M.   12 years ago

I love college football, but man, what a fucking cesspool it has become.

      1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Agreed. By the time we get playoffs, the game may be not worth the time.

Frankly, I liked the game better when the conferences were more static, the national title was a guessing game, coaches’ manhood were challenged by the tie, etc. Yes, I want playoffs, but this corrupt mess is less fun.
