Alaska Lawmakers Approve Measure To Nullify Federal Gun Restrictions
Bill says such Second Amendment violations aren't law at all
JUNEAU, Alaska — A bill that says personal firearms possessed in Alaska aren't subject to federal law or regulation, including registration, has passed the legislature.
The House agreed Thursday to changes the Senate made to HB69.
There were constitutional concerns with the version of the bill that passed the House. The Senate struck a provision that would have made it a felony for a federal official to enforce new laws or regulations restricting ownership of semi-automatic weapons or requiring that firearms be registered.
