3D-Printed AK Magazine Unveiled by Defense Distributed

I'm an AK owner myself, so I admit that Defense Distributed's latest little offering appeals directly to me. The thought of printing high-capacity magazines in the privacy of my own home for my rugged, politically incorrect "assault weapon" just … sits very right. I'm not the only one, I'm sure. So sit back and behold the (drumroll, please) Feinstein! Yes, the latest high-capacity magazine from Defense Distributed, soon to come to a 3D printer near you, is named after California's jolly ol' elf of a senator, Dianne Feinstein, who has done so much to encourage firearms sales and innovations in gun-related homebrew solutions.
Rock on, Defense Distributed. And Dianne? Could you see fit to try to ban, or at least severely restrict, pinot noir? I really look forward to a creative technical solution that lets me pour the stuff from my kitchen taps. A little nudge from you seems to go an awfully long way …
When the plans for the Feinstein are available ("coming soon," promises Defense Distributed), you'll be able to download them from defcad.org.

Ginned up outrage over the dangers on a 3-D printer in 3....2...11111111111
3D printers are a direct threat to democracy and the ability of the people to govern themselves. Without the ability to effectively ban things, how will the government form us into good citizens, or punish people who wish to acquire contraband that was prohibited by vote?
Oh, they already have. I was discussing 3D Printing with some friends, carefully avoiding mentioning firearms-related applications, and one of the proggies immediately started deriding and brought up the magazines.
"Fuck all the good 3D printers will be able to do, from printing replacement organs to food to whatnot, someone could make a magazine that's almost as good as one they could make very easily out of sheet metal! We can't have that!"
CONTROL. That's all it's about.
Better a few children die of disease or starvation than risk my special snowflake from one of those evil magazines.
Progressive Luddite? Did you ask him how he proposed to square that circle?
All progessives are luddites. It's an old, retreaded, ideology that has proven again and again to not be workable.
So, yes, luddite is a very accurate term for them.
Not to mention the luddites were proto-unionists who used violence to fight the man.
Yeah. It's strange how when I am trying to debate one of them, or even reading their comments over at the FluffHost, how I see visions of them attacking tractors with pitch forks, or pacing around some dungeon in hooded robes, ready to start torturing some poor heretic on the rack.
They're extremely intolerant.
It's the assaultquester!
I love having an AK so much, I bought a second "California legal" one when I moved to The People's Bear Republic. The only problem with them is that the ammo has gotten so damned expensive. Love that they're calling this the Feinstein.
Re: Graphite,
Only because they felt calling it "That Cunt" was too much...
I can recommend this clip if you are looking for some good Feinstein-related schadenfreude:

Uh, the term is "MAGAZINE"...
linky
I was hoping for Jesus Jones. Oh well.
Only because they felt calling it "That Cunt" was too much...
How about the "the Schultz" as a compromise? Ken....not Sergeant.
We can print our own Revolution! No more underground factories! Yay!
what will we do with all the unemployed orphans?
Use them as monocle polishers?
Cody Wilson is apparently an anarchist of some sort--God bless him.
Watching the politicians screw everything up worse and worse, year after year, it's nice to have somebody come along like that and remind everybody that the sort of future we have will not be determined by politicians.
Yeah, I've seen interviews and different talks he's given online and I believe he's ancap. Real smart guy too, I'm glad he's on our side.

Way to go JD.
Oh baby. Thank you Defense Distributed.
Chavez' corpse to go on permanent display.
We can't even joke about anything anymore. The world is satirical in reference to itself.
Just like they did with Lenin.
Stalin, too!
That is just so common with democratically elected leaders. eye roll.
Will the tumor go in its own display case?
+1
Will it have a handle from the inside, so he can get out when he resurrects?
No silly. That is what they will do for Obama when he dies.
Not According to Ahmadinejad.
Chavez is risen. Truly, he is risen.
why are they trying to steal Inca tradition?
Incas were from Peru, not Venezuela.
Tupac Chavez! Commie racists!
Proving what good Marxists they are (Bonapartism).
And they accuse Commies of being atheists.
Thats amazing, I must have one of those printers!

Hugo Ch?vez's final words: 'I don't want to die'
I am sure he didn't. There might have been just enough Catholic left in him to worry about what might await him.
And all he wanted was some hot choc-oh-let. Now he's gonna be swimming in it, extra hot! Bwahahhaaahaaa!
I wish I could afford one of those printers. Anybody know what they cost (with software) and what the expected cost curve gets us to tech-wise and cost-wise in 3 years?
You can gets kits to put together yourself for a few hundred bucks.

A lot of the software is open source.
You can join a hacker space group for a monthly fee. A couple of the spaces in SoCal have 3D printers. One of the places is "gun friendly".

3d printing is so last week
So basically MIT is trying to reinvent Magic Grow toys?
yep, with water, or electrical pulses
MIT Scientist: "But wait, there's more! If you order now we'll double your order for free. So now, you'll get not one, but two Magic Grow Animal packs. And these things will grow to ten times their original size, kids. So call now!"
yep, with water, or electrical pulses
So, you just print out your tiny 1/200th scale AK-47, put it in water and come back in 20 minutes?
But make sure you let it dry before you try to use it.
It's an AK. You use bullets to clear out the water.
Cody Wilson is a sharp guy. I hope the 3-D printing revolution continues and expands, no matter the draconian and "cruel and unusual" punishments the legislators threaten for those who break their fake laws. Eventually, maybe the fake laws will be so obviously false and ineffectual that our 99.999% sociopathic scum government will simply quit trying to enforce them. In Denver, for instance, I'm told that the prosecutors are no longer even trying to sentence people for marijuana offenses.
Irony? Bieber treated for breathing problems at O2 arena
Why is that under the "Entertainment and Arts section? I can only guess it's because the BBC website doesn't have a "Retarded Shit" tab.
They do, it's called Science & Environment
In Denver, for instance, I'm told that the prosecutors are no longer even trying to sentence people for marijuana offenses.
Not only that. They're taking people sentenced to 8 years for kidnapping and sexual assault, and they're letting them stay out on bail.
I'll give you three guesses what that guy did for a living prior to his conviction.
We already have far too many laws. And they're going to make more? What happens when they have finally banned everything?
People are losing respect for the law, for government, and for any type of authority. If everything you do is illegal anyway(unless you're a congress critter), why give a fuck?
This is why we have the patriot act, NDAA, and DHS, etc. They are panicking and going into full paranoia mode. This always happens when a government grows too powerful. It's totally predictable and is already started to happen. Only the blind progressives and otherwise ignorant fail to see where this is headed.
Pork inspector?
Every hockey rink in the NHL played "The Hockey Song" tonight.
in LA the crowd sang along.
How about I missed the goddamn game tonight.
Went to the bar, ate some chicken wings, came home and started cleaning up, and somehow forgot the fucking game was on.
What a dandy! They really regrouped and rallied back.
Kune-dogg with the game winner, too. He's having a career year. Sux it's a short one.
I admit I missed the GWG. I did see all the previous goals. I was watching the Jets game.
It was a nice one-timer from a cross ice pass, delivered by crosby.
Whatever happened to Ovechkin? Remember that guy? Does he still play?
He had 3 points tonight?
I was just trying to point out that Kunitz is leaving him in the dust for less than half the price.
You know who Ovechkin reminds me of?
Even before he started going downhill, he reminded me of Eric Lindros.
Yeah he's peaked
Do you think it's that defenses figured out how to defend his simplistic way of playing, or is he just not as good.
If you watch him, he really hasn't changed his game that much, which consists of hanging out waiting for a pass so he can somehow get to above the left circle for a shot.
If you watch someone like Stamkos, sure he has his idiosyncrasies, but he seems like he's mixing it up a bit out there; trying to be unpredictable. Changing his game up.
The other team just laughs at his stupid smile and he gets flustered.
I can only get on here late at night, recently because of work. Squirrels went on a rampage earlier today, making my first try at getting on in the morning, for a couple of weeks, pretty frustrating.
Has anyone heard yet, that Rand returned fire at McCain and his little toady, Lindsey-poo?
Here's the link, sorry if already posted:
Rand fires back, Graham and McCain think entire world is battlefield
McCain walked up to the elevator and I think it looked a little somethin like this.

The answer just took a filibuster that lasted almost half a day, Paul added.
"So now, after 13 hours of filibuster,
Hours and days and stuff must be different in DC.
Seriously, anyone heard from Doc Groovus?
He'll be back, he disappears sometimes. Unless he's been killed by mobsters or is rotting away in an Eastern European prison somewhere.
I can't wait until they 3D an armed drone. Woot!
Whenever I see these 3D gun printing, I keep on thinking of HEAP (Holocaust Education Avoidance POD) from the novel Crytonomicon. Basic idea, it's a repository of knowledge of how an individual can avoid Holocaust. A major component being self defense and know how of building weapons. This falls squarely within it.
I need to have a 3D printer! That is AMAZING!

This new bot is going to eat anonbot's lunch.
Hey J.D. If you happen to come across CAD plans for a Ruger Mini-30 magazine, let me know. AK mags are easy enough to find that it's hardly worth printing. But the Mini-30 mag is somewhat proprietary and harder to find cheap.
Thanks in advance!
