Police Claim Flammable Gas Was a Last Resort Against Dorner
Nukes weren't available
SWAT officers in the cabin standoff with murder suspect Christopher Dorner decided to use highly flammable "hot gas" canisters as a last resort after other efforts to persuade Dorner to surrender failed, according to law enforcement sources.
Officers made the decision to use the canisters, which caused the cabin to catch fire, Tuesday as the sun was setting and authorities worried about dealing with Dorner at night in the remote Big Bear area, said the sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing. Dorner had continued to fire on officers, and they feared more deputies would be hurt or killed, they added.
Authorities had chased Dorner into the cabin on Seven Oaks Road on Tuesday afternoon amid a massive gun battle in which one San Bernardino County deputy was killed and another badly wounded.

Disregarding the morality of burning Dorner out, it's pretty sure there was no way for them to know whether anyone else was in there.
If they find charred bodies of little children they will call them accomplices.
No. If they find charred bodies of little children they switch stories to the fire was started from inside the cabin bunker.
I think the term of art is "compound" (as in "Branch Davidian compound") rather than bunker.
Hostages and victims of sex abuse by Dorner, who Dorner shot in the head and lit on fire before the authoritay's could rescue them by setting the building on fire.
I *knew* Janet "The Torch" Reno was involved!
I guess the LAPD lost their night vision goggles.
With their fellow officers shot and killed, and the daughter of another murdered, they gave Dorner not only what he deserved, but what he ASKED for in his "manifesto."
You know, what very few journalists seem to have pointed out in covering this story is that the LAPD has done a massive overhaul during the course of the last several decades. I'm not saying they're "bias-free" now, but they no longer resemble the corrupt and bigot-ridden force they once were.
As for shooting victims, I'm much more concerned over the babies killed in Newtown, than I am about a psychopath like Dorner.
"As for shooting victims, I'm much more concerned over the babies killed in Newtown, than I am about a psychopath like Dorner."
And, just checking, what is your concern for the much greater number of children murdered by Obama?
"With their fellow officers shot and killed, and the daughter of another murdered, they gave Dorner not only what he deserved, but what he ASKED for in his "manifesto.""
So, the cops get to be prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner? I guess that would save money, but what outlet do you work for?
