I watched the first couple episodes of The Following instead of the SOTU. Pretty good despite Kevin Bacon's mediocre performance because James Purefoy is awesome and criminally underemployed over his career.

    1. Archduke Pantsfan   12 years ago

I bet you watched that over House of Cards

      1. Apatheist ?_??   12 years ago

It's on the list to watch!

    2. Tulpa (LAOL-PA)   12 years ago

So you watched a guy who has a cult following that kills innocent people instead of watching Obama?

      1. Archduke Pantsfan   12 years ago

One's about a guy with a cult following that kills innocent people, the other is a show with Kevin Bacon

        That's better.

      2. Apatheist ?_??   12 years ago

Well at least he has some sort of intellectual basis for his killings.

  2. darius404   12 years ago

Anyone else just getting some stupid rap song when trying to view this on YouTube?

    1. Apatheist ?_??   12 years ago

      No... you racist.

    2. Apatheist ?_??   12 years ago

Nvmd I started getting this instead. Something must be up.

      1. darius404   12 years ago

        Yes, that.

    3. Archduke Pantsfan   12 years ago

      nope. working good here

    4. darius404   12 years ago

It's still happening to me. This time it gave it to me as an advertisement, then when I was able to skip past it the video was again replaced with the rap video.

  3. John C. Randolph   12 years ago

I'd really like to support Rand in 2016, but he's got to apologize for endorsing that douchenozzle Willard first.

Meh, I can overlook that, as I'm pretty sure even he figured Shit Flopney had no chance, but since he is a Republican (note: not "Repubican") I suppose I can overlook that. To build up a possible 2016 run, he does have to "play ball" to some degree.

May I remind you GJ is a former TEAM RED as well, and I would have voted for him had be been on the OK Ballot.

    2. Brandybuck   12 years ago

Yes, because meaningless endorsements are far more important that stuff like actual votes on the floor of the Senate.

    3. Tulpa (LAOL-PA)   12 years ago

Exhibit A in why no one within sniffing distance of power gives a crap about what hardcore libertarians think. You can never please them.

      1. darius404   12 years ago

I'm sure glad we all think alike. Saves me from having an actual opinion of my own.

  4. Emmerson Biggins   12 years ago

Was it on any tv channel?

I was pissed when I couldn't find it. I flipped back to Rubio (on mute) at least three times. I thought i'd get some reward for that.

The whole sipping water thing and wiping his mouth off looked pretty bad with no sound.

    1. Archduke Pantsfan   12 years ago

Yup. It's all the media will focus on for the next few days.
      Obama's lies all but forgotten

    2. darius404   12 years ago

It was actually worse WITH sound, since he stops talking to make his desperate grab for the water. Really I think he just didn't want to wait to keep speaking, but that combined with his rushing through his speech didn't look good. Rand was a lot more casual and took time to say stuff, he didn't feel the need to rush.

      1. Cyto   12 years ago

Why bother to do the rebuttal live? As long as you are playing to an empty room, you might as well go with a slickly-produced pre-recorded presentation.

  5. cavalier973   12 years ago

    Equal time!

    Here's the highlight of Rubio's speech: http://deadspin.com/5983866/le.....low-motion

    1. Blueman   12 years ago

That dude needs a water hat. Like a beer hat, but with water.

  6. Paul.   12 years ago

This speech was good, simple, to the point.

    1. A Serious Man   12 years ago

And hence why he is unelectable.

    2. Atanarjuat   12 years ago

Yeah, that is Rand Paul's strength as a speaker. It was a bit less simple than some other speeches he's given, though, and actually got a bit technical, especially when he was defining sequestration. He loses his relaxed, conversational tone when he goes into detail like that. And let us not forget that he's speaking to Americans, people of the new land; the common clay of the new West. You know...morons.

      1. gaijin   12 years ago

        You know...morons citizens.

        fify

    3. Tulpa (LAOL-PA)   12 years ago

His voice was kind of whiny, a couple of notes higher than usual. I noticed his dad does the same thing when consciously trying not to sound like a crazy extremist.

  7. Fist of Etiquette   12 years ago

A button-down collar? Why didn't he just deliver this speech from a pig farm sucking on a wheat stalk with Shain from Buckwild.

  8. Josua   12 years ago

He would have been a great president in 2000, 2004, or 2008. But now, what does it matter anymore? I agree with him. Five other people agree with him. The rest of country took a double-tap from the Stupid Gun straight in the face. I must be a super-villain, because I'm surrounded by idiots. Tell Bond the new Aston Martins are boring (too sleek). Get a Jaguar XKR-S.

  9. RenkBooo   12 years ago

Dude that looks liek its gonna be really good.

I watched the speech on UHF. Reception was kinda poor. Kept getting scrambled with two guys at a desk discussing medicinal shark cartilage.
