Sen. Feinstein To Introduce "Assault Weapon" Ban
Authoritarians lick their lips ...
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) vowed Sunday to introduce legislation to ban assault weapons at the start of the next Congress.
"I'm going to introduce in the Senate and the same bill will be introduced in the House, a bill to ban assault weapons. It will ban the sale, the transfer, the importation and the possession. Not retroactively but prospectively. And it will ban the same for big clips, drums or strips of more than 10 bullets. So there will be a bill. We've been working on it now for a year," Feinstein said on NBC's "Meet The Press" during a discussion about guns following Friday's deadly mass shooting as a Connecticut school.
Feinstein said she was confident such a measure could pass. In a separate interview on Sunday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he too was was optimistic about the prospect of passing a gun control measure.

Of course she is. Can't let a tragedy go to waste. Schumer probably found the nearest camera and told them he was optimistic about this tragedy being one he could exploit for political gain.
On a side note, I suppose if it passes we'll get Republicans in control of the Senate and a supermajority in the House at the next election. Too bad Democrats can't push for things that make it easier (not free or paid by someone else) for people to obtain mental health care.
Maybe she propose a ban on mental illness.
So is this a ban on guns that are black? Ones that have funny sights? Exactly what is an "assault weapon"?
Apparently it's the type of weapons Cho used in the Virginia Tech. massacre.
Which is one that fires bullets
It has a high capacity magazine, shooting cop killer bullets, because they are armor piercing.
It's black, because black is scaary.
It has a flash hider, because all crazy, homicidal maniacs are need their flash concealed.
It has a bayonet lug, because homicidal maniacs can use their gun as a big pointy thing.
It has foreign parts because foreign things are bad because they're foreign.
Clear enough for you?
Exactly what is an "assault weapon"?
California defined them by a hodgepodge of largely-cosmetic characteristics and banning one safety feature. At least one company started making the banned model in a range of colors including pink, which made the colored ones legal. Oddly, complying with the law didn't make supporters of the law happy.

Anything that causes Feinstein distress is a good thing.
Over legislation(of any kind)is the death of the republic. These people attempt to pass laws as a knee jerk reaction. The weapon did not commit the crime... the criminal did. Period.
Nobody needs a motorized printing press in this country. Nobody.
We should limit feeder capacity to eight sheets of letter sized paper.
Four color printing? Madness!
And 3D PRINTERS! Outta control!
