Prosecutor Under Fire For Opposing Grand Rapids Pot Decriminalization
Voters approved the legal change, so he's winning few friends
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth's lawsuit to block decriminalization of marijuana in Grand Rapids angered supporters of the voter initiative who protested Thursday, Dec. 6, outside of his office on Ionia Avenue NW.
Decriminalization was to begin Thursday.
"This is supposed to be a celebration," protest organizer Logan Hamlin said. "Instead, we're down here in the cold, protesting. It's a sad day."
