A Whitaker police officer accused of using his gun to break a driver's window during a summer traffic stop and threatening her with charges unless she paid to fix his damaged gun has been held for a January trial.

William S. Davis, 35, appeared before District Judge Thomas P. Caulfield at a preliminary hearing this morning in Forest Hills. The Allegheny County district attorney's office charged Officer Davis Oct. 19 with official oppression, making a false statement, criminal mischief and a criminal attempt related to a threat in connection with a June 27 traffic stop.
