California Approves Three Strikes Reform

Third strike will have to be of a serious or violent nature to trigger life sentence

With 16 percent of the vote in California counted, Proposition 36 is passing 68 to 31 percent. 

The change in the state's three strikes law will require the third strike to be of serious or violent nature to trigger a life sentence.
