Douglas Carswell, a British Conservative MP, is wondering why the figures don't match the rhetoric
A Conservative MP risks sparking a major backlash after he dismissed the financial struggles of millions of Britons, claiming: "There has been no austerity".
Douglas Carswell, MP for Clacton, prompted accusations of being out of touch with his outspoken remarks.
In an interview with the business website, London Loves Business, the MP said: "There has been no austerity at all! No austerity."
