Gingrich Urges Romney to Use Debates to Turn the Race Around

Wants the GOP nominee to give the President the same treatment he received during the primaries

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 (UPI) — Republican U.S. presidential nominee Mitt Romney needs to use his debates with President Obama to turn the race around, former Romney rival Newt Gingrich says.

In an interview Friday on CNN, Gingrich cited the change in Romney's fortunes in the Florida primary—when Gingrich, the former U.S. House speaker, was tied with Romney in the polls but lost by 14 percentage points in the primary after Romney savaged him in two debates.
