Activists Say Police Kill Black Person Every 36 Hours
Release a report on domestic extrajudicial killings
Using government documents and direct investigations a group has issued a call to action, citing that in the first six (6) months of 2012 a Black person was killed by a police officer, security guard or vigilante [every 36 hours].
"The Report on Black People Executed without Trial by Police, Security Guards and Self-Appointed Law Enforcers January 1 – June 30, 2012", was produced by Arlene Eisen and Kali Akuno for the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM). As much as I hate the popo, killing someone in self-defense isn't an execution, and I strongly doubt they tried to make any distinction between the overly aggressive police shootings Reason covers, and someone with a legitimate fear for their life (mainly because of the word "vigilante" in there).
Did they provide statistics on how often black people were executed by gangs and criminals?
