Gary Johnson: Pot Will Be Legal by 2016

Libertarian candidate for president makes a bold prediction

Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party nominee for president, predicted Thursday that marijuana will be legal nationwide within the next four years.

Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico, said he thinks that pot legalization will be approved by voters in Washington and Colorado this fall, helping to spur other states to follow suit.

The States will most likely pass pot legalization laws but it begs the question;has the States ceded to much power the Federal gov't and is it to late to take it back?

There is sometimes a tendency to describe Gary Johnson's view as "legalizing drugs" but that is not his view. He wants to end the failed "war on drugs" which costs the government billions of dollars. The business of proscuting and incarcerating people for marijuana use when it could simply be legalized, regulated amd taxed is common sense. Gary Johnson does not favor legalizing all drugs but he does have a plan to better deal with them all and it stems from the philosophy that the government should not interfere with people's basic rights to choose what they can and cannot put in their bodies.
