The FBI's War on Your Civil Liberties Going Just Swimmingly
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) studies seven years worth of FBI intelligence investigations from the Intelligence Oversight Board found via Freedom of Information Act requests and finds:
• Evidence of delays of 2.5 years, on average, between the occurrence of a violation and its eventual reporting to the Intelligence Oversight Board
• Reports of serious misconduct by FBI agents including lying in declarations to courts, using improper evidence to obtain grand jury subpoenas, and accessing password-protected files without a warrant
• Indications that the FBI may have committed upwards of 40,000 possible intelligence violations in the 9 years since 9/11

Sadly, who cares?
Yeah, the worst part of it really is that we let them do this.
We’re accomplices in a way.
We get the government we deserve.
I know it’s not the government we, as in most of us on H&R and some abroad, deserve. But the number of us who do care would probably round down to 0, and that’s the sad part.
In other words; they’re the same assholes that they’ve always been since Hoover used to dress up as the prettiest princess at the White House Ball!
I expect the House republican committees will look into the violations.
Not!
Our president is a Constitutional scholar. He’s not going to allow this to continue!
I wonder why only studied 2001-2008.
Pronoun missing. “why they only”
Better than you deserve, haters.
Things like this and Radley Balko’s postings push me closer to anarcho-capitalism. Would a free market solution to law enforcement really not work better than what we have now?
The only way to find out is to try it, right?
OH NOES SOMALIA…DRINK
Why didn’t the chicken cross the road?
Because the road was privatized and it would have cost the chicken $800,000.
+800,000
So it *does* work!
I went ahead and looked that up. Found a Wiki page listing the number of murders per 100,000 people.
That hellhole of a shithole of a Libertarian paradise has about 3.2 per 100,000, while the US has about 5.
I crossed that bridge a long time ago. I’ve noticed that every “worst cased scenario” to what would happen when free-market based dispute resolution organizations replaced government monopoly ones were either the same or better than our current system.
I’m a minarchist. But I’d go for anarcho-capitalism over this statist shit we have. It works, or we end up with discord. Either way I’m satisfied.
As long as people are allowed to invoke “the children” then nobody will care and nothing will change. Draw and quarter anyone who utters the words “children” or “child” while discussing public policy and all our rights will magically be restored.
Have you all read the CNN exclusive: “FBI misconduct reveals sex, lies and videotape”? It gives even more reasons to never let the FBI violate our civil liberties.
Speaking of scumbags violating your civil rights,
The Senate is apparently trying to ban high-capacity magazines. Reid just put an amendment to do so onto the FAA re-authorization bill.
Thank you, Republican Party honchos, for helping kill off the Tea Party challenger to Harry Reid, Dem tool par excellence.
And Brownell’s just sent me a sale ad for AR mags. Coincidence?
ban high-capacity magazines
I’ll give you my Vogue when you take it from my cold, dead hands!
The chances of any of Hoover’s boys being fired, let alone doing the time in jail that their crimes should get them are….
…about the same as when he was mincing around his office in a dress.
