spitzer is an ass. does he have evidence that his proposed increase in marginal rates will result in an increase in total revenue? let's say spitzer is driving down the freeway on his way to meet a hooker, and the speed limit is 75 mph. today he is in a hurry so he is travelling at 75 mph. however there is a sign that says starting next week the speed limit will be 65 mph. question: next week, does spitzer have to budget for his hooker and the speeding ticket, or does he budget just for the hooker and leave a little earlier and drive the new speed limit of 65 mph? same concept for tax increases, behavior will change as most business owners are not assholes like client number 9.
Your premise is invalid. Spitzer is a fucking steamroller and doesn't have to obey such laws.
Why is Reason calling it a tax cut debate? Nobody is going to get any tax cuts. We're discussing increasing tax rates that have been in effect for a decade. And the one year cut on social security contributions isn't a tax cut either.
Why is Reason calling it a tax cut debate?
I read part of the deal was to cut Social Security taxes. from ~6% to ~4% for 2 years.
So yeah there is an actual tax cut in there.
One day i will read the whole post before relying.
Today is not that day.
Why does Spitzer continue to have reason libertarians on his show?
Does he think he is beating them in the debate?
Is he beating them in the debate?
Is it penance for prosecuting hookers when he was in fact a customer?
The real question is, why does CNN continue to have *Spitzer* on his show?
The secondary question is, why does Parker - a smart and erudite person - continue to allow Spitzer to treat her like she is a mere decoration on *their* show?
Each network needs a pretentious prick, right? Veronique will do quite well. Parker is clearly fed up. She'll bail soon.
why does Parker - a smart and erudite person - continue to allow Spitzer to treat her like she is a mere decoration on *their* show?
Because Parker is erudite enough to understand that Spitzer is incapable of treating a woman any differently, and decides against the attempt to talk water out of being wet.

I like Veronique plus she is hot.
Anyway to get her to write stuff on Hit & Run?
Let's see if I can follow this logic:
Dems opposed extending the Bush tax rates because we can't afford it.
Repubs opposed unemployment benefits because we can't afford it.
So the compromise is to do BOTH??!! In what rational world would this make any sense?
It's just evidence that we're doomed no matter what party's in charge.
Dems opposed extending the Bush tax rates because we can't afford it.
Repubs opposed unemployment benefits because we can't afford it.
So the compromise is to do BOTH??!! In what rational world would this make any sense?
It is easy to rectify. We can afford the tax cuts because they are really not cuts and you cannot raise revenues above 19% of GDP by changing the tax code and the unemployment benefits are relatively cheap. The Dems and the Republicans both know this so they are simply posturing. The sad fact is they should be talking about cutting SS, medicare, Medicaid, and Defense spending...instead they talk about this bullshit.
Granted. Most of us hear think that the only thing wrong with the Bush rates is that they're too high. But libertarians have no power in DC. Those who have actual power are operating under the following process:
A: "Your idea stinks"
B: "No, your idea stinks"
A: "Then let's do both!"
B: "OK"
Then they pat themselves on the because compromise is a great thing. As much as I disagree with the Dems on this particular issue, I sort of respect them for saying "no, the idea stinks and we aren't going along with it". Of course they'll cave as soon as they get some other goody into the deal.
And this morning's FoxNews front page shows (drum roll please).... Dems are caving on their opposition because of the goodies being added to the deal which, of course, just make it more expensive.
So true, love it.
I like the boxing guy who lost his razor: "People are criticizing Obama? Didn't they notice he's black? That dude is awesome!"
Yeah, wtf was that all about?
Why did they include a stupid boxing analyst in the debate anyway?
He just polluted the air with a bunch of nonsense.
Seriously, wtf?
Maybe he's there to make Spitzer sound less retarded by comparison - if that's possible.
As much as I like The de Rugy, I am glad I didn't waste precious space on the DVR. Spitzer/Parker is douchebaggery.
Jesus Crist! Could veronique look any more like a fucking anoraxic fanatic? Don't you just want to put her on a broomstick and watch her fly?
Veronique on a broomstick? That would just make me love her more...
Your best idea ever, Max! Thanks!
Obviously Outrage overload. Crist isn't a deity, even if you are in love with him, Max.
Who knew Crist had a Mexican cousin?
Fuck. I watched some of this.
Now I've gouged part of my brain out, cause I previously gouged my eyes out when I saw Sandra Bernhardt and Joy Behar on TV at the same time. So the fork went right in and gouged brain.
*shuddering at the memory of Bernhardt and Behar*
Fuck...my brain hurts.
You missed the double dildo scene. Awesome.
